Olivia walked in to the social services offices to interview the social worker who had helped appoint Claire as Brenna legal guardian.

"Your detectives Benson and Rollins right?" The woman said as they came in her office.

"Yes I'm olivia and this is amanda." Olivia replied.

"I'm Sara Martin. You have questions for me?" She asked.

"Yes we have questions as to how Brenna Raines legal guardian was appointed. Who chose Claire as the woman to take care of her." Olivia asked.

"Well I did the inspections and home visits and I interviewed her but she was ultimately suggested by Kris Harper. Claire is the daughter of a family friend of his." She replied.

"Really? Who might that be?" Amanda asked curiously.

"Mayor Kent brown" Sara confirmed.

"And all your home studies and interviews were shown to be satisfactory? The home seemed safe?" Olivia asked trying to keep her composure.

"It was clean the cabinets were stocked and she had a safe bedroom and living environment for the child." Sara defended "I did my job detective."

Amanda nodded "thank you Ms. Martin." Amanda then tugged Olivia away lightly before she could do or say anything she may regret. Amanda had seen olivia get invested in cases before but she could tell this was different. As they got to the car she got in and looked at olivia. "Ok spill. What is so special about this case? This isn't the normal reaction that I've seen from you before."

Olivia gripped the steering wheel bit didn't turn the car on and stayed silent a moment before admitting to Amanda what she had only let 2 people in her life ever know. "A few years ago I went undercover for the fbi for a little over a year. 2 months in I was raped by a member of the group I infiltrated and I got pregnant. I didn't think I could raise a child from a rape especially since my mother had and she hated me most of the time and my life was.....complicated. so my fbi handler helped me hide the pregnancy and give my baby up for adoption." Olivia started "and I just found out last night that that child I gave birth to 6 years ago is...Brenna."

Amanda was in shock but she touched Olivia's arm and said "wow...I'm sorry...but what are you going to do?"

Olivia shook her head "I'm not sure...yet." she finished. She then drove them back to the precinct and arrived to a very upset cragen who called them both in to his office.

"Tell me you two were not out working a case I told you we were taking things slow with." He grimaced.

"It was my idea Amanda just followed." Olivia defended "there is more to this and I don't feel good leaving a 6 year old around a predator."

Cragen sighed "I don't either but this case will be almost impossible to prosecute."

"Oh so because a man is rich and powerful he should also be above the law?" Olivia glared.

"No but we can't go after him unless there is irrefutable evidence against him and we don't have that yet." He said. "So this is your last warning. Unless you find that kind of evidence leave it alone." He gave her a stern look.

Olivia scoffed and rolled her eyes walking out of his office followed by amanda.
