Olivia had met up with Trevor that day and he decided to take the custody case.

A week later before the custody hearings even started the tabloids and news papers had gotten wind of it and pretty soon olivia and Brenna pictures were all over the covers and front pages.

As olivia was at her desk working on some dd5s trying to keep her mind off Brenna for a bit, the captain called her in to the office. She walked in and closed the door behind her as the captain let a newspaper fall to his desk. "When we're you going to tell me about this?"

Olivia sighed and sat in the chair across from him. "I only found out myself 2 weeks ago." She started.

"You have been on this squad for 13 years olivia...when did you have a baby?" He asked leaning back in his chair.

"Up until recently only me and agent porter knew about it. I got pregnant when I was undercover for eco terrorism." She said not giving him more of the story then he needed to know. "Look maybe we can't bring a case against Kris but if I can get custody of my daughter then I can keep her safe from him."

"Do you even understand what this is going to entail? Your not just getting any kid olivia this girl is a rising star in the celebrity world which means like it or not your going to be thrust in to that spot light too." He continued running his hand down his face.

"I know I get it I do but....not long after I gave her up I realized I made a mistake but I didn't search for her because I thought she would have been adopted by now. But this man has a friend of his family playing mommy just so he has easier access to her. That is not the life I wanted for my daughter." Olivia defended.

"I just hope your making this decision for the right reasons. Not just because you want to save another child from trauma." He said.

"That isn't my only reason. I want to be a mom. I'm ready for that now. I didn't think I was a few years ago because of certain circumstances revolving around her conception. But I'm stronger now, I'm more stable now." Olivia finished.

"Just don't do things behind my back anymore and in case it's not obvious you can not work the Raines abuse case anymore either. I'll put fin as lead on it." He sighed.

Olivia stood to leave the office but the captain said "by the way....good luck." He half smiled.

She glanced back at him and smiled before leaving his office.

That night olivia was relaxing on the couch knowing that the next day would be stressful with the custody hearing and as she was sipping wine she turned on the TV. As she was doing so she stopped on one of the late night news channels and listened as the reporter spoke about her and Brenna.

"So we do not know the circumstances behind this but apparently sources close to Brenna Raines and olivia benson have reported that Ms. Benson gave her daughter up but all of a sudden wants custody? Is this a mother feeling regret for a choice she made? Or is Ms. Benson doing this because of Raines rising celebrity profile? Brenna Raines is reportedly worth over 4 million dollars. What is your view and opinion on this mother regaining custody?"

Olivia sighed she hated that the news was making her out to be some gold digging parent but she turned the TV off and took another sip of wine realizing she'd have to get used to this kind of scrutiny.
