07:19, 20 August 2025"What the hell are you doing, Murph?" Sophia frowned as she watched Murphy and Bellamy make their way over.
"Well, see, the princess over there wanted Bellamy to go on that little rescue mission for the lost cause-" Murphy grunted when Sophia shoved him.
"Take that shit back right now, Murph. Jasper is not a lost cause! We're getting him back, safe." Sophia frowned.
Murphy grumbled under his breath as he rubbed his chest. "Whatever. The point is, Bellamy asked me to come along. Think of it as an extra set of muscles. God knows your scrawny ass wouldn't be able to carry, Jasper, if it came down to it."
Murphy let out another grunt, followed by a laugh, as Sophia punched him in the arm. She knew he was right, though. If Jasper was still alive, they'd have to carry him back to the dropship, and who knew how far out Jasper really was. Sophia did have a bit of strength, but the more muscles, the better for carrying potentially dead weight back to camp.
"Fine. Whatever. But a couple of ground rules: don't look at me, don't talk to me, don't even get close to me. No sarcastic comments. Just don't be you." Sophia frowned as she listed her rules on her fingers.
"Well, aren't you fun, Princess-"
"And no Princess either! This is a rescue mission, not an annoy the fuck out of Sophia because you're bored mission." She cut Murphy off, making him roll her eyes.
"Sophia!" The brunette turned around to find Monty coming up to her. "About Jasper-"
"Don't. I get it, Monty. You guys had to run in case whatever attacked Jasper got you, too. We're going to get him back."
Monty frowned as he pulled Sophia into a tight hug. "Just be careful out there. Don't go getting yourself hurt or worse."
Sophia smiled softly at Monty, playfully punching his shoulder. "Ah, come on. Careful is my middle name." She joked as Clarke called for her.
"We'll be back, with Jasper," Sophia swore as the group of Sophia, Murphy, Bellamy, Clarke, and Welles headed out.
"Those guys are criminals, you know that, right?" Welles questioned as they headed further from the camp/dropship.
"I'm counting on it." Clarke shrugged.
Sophia's brows furrowed as she glanced behind her at Bellamy and Murphy.
There was that gut feeling again. Those two were up to something.
"I'm getting that wristband. Even if I have to cut off her hand to do it." Sophia's eyes widened as she looked over at the wristband on Clarke. Again with this? They're really going to screw humanity over by doing this?
Sophia was about to go talk to Clarke when Murphy grabbed her arm.
"Where do you think you're going?"
"Didn't I tell you not to touch me?"
"You did, but something tells me if I let you go, you're going to run over and play snitch to the chancellor's son and his little lap dog." Murphy's grip tightened on Sophia's arm. "So I think...I think it's a good idea to have you right here beside me to make sure you don't narc."
Sophia's brow twitched in annoyance as she pulled her arm free but stayed beside Murphy to prevent him from yanking her back again.
"Good girl," Murphy smirked before grunting when Sophia elbowed his side.
"Go float yourself." She muttered bitterly as they continued their trek through the forest.

"We're wasting our time with this mission," Bellamy muttered. "You said it was a spear to the heart. Jasper's long gone."
Sophia frowned as she got in front of Bellamy. "Clarke said they heard Jasper scream when they moved him! If he had been struck in the heart, he would have died instantly. He's still alive out there!"
"Exactly. And we're wasting time by standing here; we need to move." Clarke frowned. She looked over when Bellamy wrapped her banded wrist.
"Well, as soon as you take this off, the sooner we can get going again." Bellamy grinned smugly.
Clarke glared daggers at him as she stepped closer to the older male.
"The only way they're going to think I'm dead is when I'm actually dead."
Bellamy opened his mouth to give a witty comment when a twig snapped, drawing the five's attention.
"You call this a rescue party?" Finn questioned as he walked over. "We should split up, cover more ground. Clarke, let's go." He nudged the blonde as the two went in a different direction.
"I feel like we should have pulled straws or something to make this a little more fair." Sophia frowned as she was stuck with Bellamy and Murphy. Sure, Welles was still there too, but this felt more like torture being stuck with Bellamy and his nuance of a puppy.
Sophia and Murphy walked ahead while Bellamy and Welles stayed behind. They were a little too far back, and for once, Bellamy's voice didn't travel.
"We're going to get that band off of her," Murphy said, cutting into Sophia's thoughts.
"I told you not to talk to me."
"Oh, come on, princess. Entertain me."
"Never in this lifetime."
"In this lifetime, huh? So you're saying there's a chance?" Murphy smirked.
"I will take that knife of yours and shove it up your ass." Sophia warned before looking at Murphy, "in a non-criminal way." She added as she walked ahead.
The walk was silent for the most part after that. Just a few occasional quips from Murphy that were usually met with either complete silence or Sophia snapping at him to shut up.
"Guys!" Sophia's head whipped back when she saw Clarke and Finn making their way back. Hope rose in Sophia as she looked at Clarke.
"We've got a lead. A trail of blood. It's fresh. If we hurry, it could lead us to Jasper." That was all the motivation Sophia needed to push past Murphy and follow Clarke and Finn.

"Are we sure we're going in the right direction?" Murphy questioned in an unamused tone as they walked.
"We don't. One day on Earth, and spacewalker thinks he's a tracker." Bellamy muttered.
"It was basics that they taught in Earth Survival-" Welles frowned.
"Guys!" Finn cut them off. "You wanna keep it down or should I paint a target on your backs?"
Sophia's head perked up when she heard a groan in pain echo ahead. Her eyes widened as she started to walk ahead, only to be tugged back by Murphy.
"Easy, princess. Maybe let those two risk their lives first."
"That was Jasper-"
"And if it was, you dying trying to get to him won't do him any good." Murphy pointed out, making Sophia grumble. She hated that he was right. She hated the smug smirk on his face for knowing he was right even more, though.
"Wipe the smirk, Murphy. I'm not going to say it." She mumbled.
"Is it really that hard to admit that I'm right?" Murphy reached over to squish Sophia's face to make it look like she was talking. "Oh, handsome, gorgeous, sexy, Murphy, you are so right! I'm just a little princess who needs someone big and strong like you to protect me."
"Whoa, Princess, I had no idea you felt that way about me. I should feel honored- oof-" Murphy grunted at the elbow to his gut.
"Guys!" Clarke scolded the pair. Sophia frowned in response but quickly followed the other as the groans in pain grew louder.
"Holy shit-" Sophia froze as they made it through the clearing to find Jasper strung up on a twisted tree. Blood soaked his skin as well, and some mysterious green wrap covered the wound from where he had been speared.
"Jasper!" Sophia started to run ahead. Her footing was lost as grass fell into a pit of spikes that they were concealing. Her scream was cut short when she felt a hand on her wrist.
Sophia's head shot up to see Murphy leaning over, a tight grip on her arm as he, Finn, Bellamy and Welles pulled her up whilst Clarke carefully scanned the area for any more traps.
Sophia let out a small grunt as she fell into Murphy's chest. Under any other circumstance, Sophia would have immediately shoved Murphy away, but considering the near-death experience, the brunette was trembling slightly in Murphy's arms.
"Your leg is cut." Murphy frowned, his voice laced with a hint of...concern? That couldn't be possible. John Murphy wasn't concerned. Especially not for Sophia Jordan.
Sophia lifted her head to look down at her leg. Sure enough, there was a small tear in her jeans as well as a small trail of blood going down her left leg.
"I'm fine," Sophia muttered as she pushed herself up to her feet.
"Clarke, what's the situation? Can we safely get my brother?" Sophia questioned.
"I can get up there and cut the rope. Murphy, come with me. Welles, keep an eye on Sophia and Clarke...and make sure Bellamy doesn't do anything." Finn ordered as he and Murphy went up the tree.
"They tended to his wounds..." Clarke frowned in confusion.
"Why would they do that if they were going to string him up like bait?" Sophia questioned.
"Maybe whatever they're trying to catch only eats live bait." Bellamy shrugged.
"Maybe we're the bait..." Finn frowned as he looked at the others, then up at Jasper.
Sophia nervously picked at her nails as she watched Finn and Murphy work on cutting Jasper down. Everyone froze briefly when they heard something growl.
"What the hell was that?" Murphy questioned.
"Grounders?" Bellamy frowned. Grounders? Guess that's the decided name on the people that did this to Jasper.
"Guys, hurry-" Sophia frowned, looking back at Finn and Murphy.
Another chilling silence. Sophia looked with everyone else to see a black panther make its way towards them.
"Bellamy, gun!" Clarke shouted in fear. Bellamy reached behind him only to find that the gun wasn't there.
The oldest of the group was about to announce that his gun was gone when a series of gunshots were fired. Welles. He had somehow swiped Bellamy's gun when he wasn't paying attention.
The panther was about to jump at Bellamy when the loss of blood got to the animal, causing it to fall just mere inches away from Bellamy.
Sophia was pale as she looked at the dead animal, then at Welles, then back up to the tree where Murphy and Finn had gone back to cutting Jasper down.

"You know, you really should go out there and eat," Bellamy said as he walked into the dropship whilst Sophia was gently dabbing Jasper's forehead with a cloth.
"Like I'd listen to you." Sophia frowned.
"Hey, I helped you get your brother back."
"Yeah, after you had already given up and dubbed him a lost cause. What if it had been Octavia, huh?" Sophia questioned.
Bellamy frowned, knowing Sophia was right. "Jasper wouldn't want you starving yourself to take care of him. Go eat before everyone else eats all the meat. Clarke can take over."
Sophia sighed softly as she stood up. "Rest up, Jasp..." She mumbled, pressing a kiss to his forehead before heading out of the dropship, where everyone was partying over the food.
"Thought you weren't going to join us." Murphy looked over at Sophia as he kept taking wristbands off. It was the rule. Take your wristband off then you get your ration.
"Bellamy made me leave the dropship. Said I can't stay inside and starve." Sophia shrugged as she went to grab some food. Murphy watched her for a moment, tilting his head slightly as his eyes flickered to her leg.
"How's the leg?" He questioned.
"I'll live." Sophia shrugged as she sat down on one of the logs.
"Hey, Murphy?" Murphy looked over at Sophia curiously.
"Thanks...for everything today. Stopping me from falling in a pit of spikes, not making a big deal about me clinging onto you, cutting Jasper down, all of that...thanks."
Murphy seemed slightly surprised to hear such words come from Sophia. He let out a mix of a chuckle and a "hmph" as he sat down next to him.
"No problem, prince-" he stopped midsentence when Sophia glared at him. "Soph. No problem, Soph."
