Chapter 12

AN: Hey... Sorry for not updating this for a while, I was procrastinating a lot and was just reading a lot of manga's. Sorry about it again.

I'll be writing this chapter in a different style similar to the one in the LN. Let me know if it's okay or not because if you guys are okay with it, I'll be implementing this type of writing in the future chapters.

Ayanokouji POV

Right now, I'm inside my classroom along with my classmates waiting for Mashima-sensei to arrive so that we can start the special exam. Looking at the faces of some of my classmates I can tell that some of them are nervous, confident and are acting the same as usual. It's normal that they would be nervous considering that we will be taking a special exam. As for the confidence it's most likely due to the fact that the class we are facing against in this exam is Class C which is known for its defective students.

As I was still in my thoughts someone approached me and tapped the top of my desk snapping me out of my train of thoughts. I looked at the person who approached me and saw that it was Sakayanagi.

"Good morning Ayanokouji-kun."

"...Morning."

AN: If you guys can't tell whose lines belong to who just tell me because I'll edit it.

"Are you prepared for the exam Ayanokouji-kun?"

"Yeah, By the way I don't see the usual three near you right now."

"Ah... About that, I had them observe Class C along with some of our classmates right now."

"Why though? I mean today the exam and it will start some minutes from now."

"Well it can't hurt to gather information and prepare until the last minutes right? Don't you agree Ayanokouji-kun?"

"If you put it like that then I suppose I have to agree with you."

As I said that Sakayanagi gave off her iconic laugh well that's what I call it. Does her laugh counts as her catchphrase? I mean if you look at it from a certain perspective then it would count as one. Not that I'm interested in it anyways.

"Fu fu fu... It does make me happy if the White Room Masterpiece agrees with my statement."

Sakayanagi only muttered the part where she said White Room Masterpiece to prevent our classmates hearing that though I still heard it due to my keen senses that I developed during my time in the White Room.

"What do you think of the events Sakayanagi?"

Sakayanagi pondered for a second before answering my question though I felt like that it wasn't necessary for her to think about it since she could have her own thoughts when she saw the events earlier.

"Mmm... I'm not really surprised by the events. So far everything is going all according to my plan. Come to think of it, I never told anyone our 5 "certain events". "

"Yes... You never did."

"Well it looks like I forgot about it, sorry about that."

I can sense that Sakayanagi spoke those words with a huge hint of sarcasm but I didn't care as I knew that she had a plan set up for this exam.

"What do you think about the events Ayanokouji-kun?"

"Lets see... Majority of it are events chosen by Class C. Most likely is that he personally chose the events."

Well the exam is more or less designed to have me get expelled or with the intention to have me expelled so it's not surprising that this happened. But I don't think that Tsukishiro can get me expelled since I'm not the commanding tower so that means... He's aiming to get rid of Sakayanagi's protection point, but I highly doubt that we would lose though especially since I'm not holding back anymore. Well lets just see what happens from now on. Also, I don't really have a plan for this exam so I guess I'm going to do my best in the event that I'm participating in. I must say though, I just said that I'll do my best . It's quite rare for me to say that even in my own thoughts. Huh, transferring to Class A really made me do and say unusual things, not that I hate it or anything.

"Hmm... You may be right but nonetheless it doesn't matter since I expected something like this."

"I see."

Me and Sakayanagi continued talking for a while but it was stopped when the doors opened revealing our remaining classmates entered along with Mashima-sensei.

"See you after the exam Ayanokouji-kun."

I only nodded at Sakayanagi and she went back to her seat while my remaining classmates and Mashima-sensei went to their places.

Mashima-sensei looked at us for a second then started talking.

"It looks like that all of you are prepared for the exam even though some of you show your nervousness but that is natural considering that you're going to be taking a special exam."

Mashima-sensei paused for a second before he continued to speak in front of us.

"First, all of the Commanding Towers will go to Special Annex Building then you and the Commanding Tower of Class C will go to your assigned room so Sakayanagi you may go."

As Mashima-sensei said that Sakayanagi stood from her seat and left the classroom.

Mashima-sensei then continued talking after Sakayanagi closed the door and left the classroom.

"As for the rest of the class, the participants of each events will be called and will go to the assigned room for the event in the Special Annex Building. For those who will not be participating. You will watch the exam in real time here in the classroom on the television. Have you all got that?"

Majority of my classmates including me nodded in response of Mashima-sensei's question.

"Great, for now wait for a while because we're still preparing the equipment and double checking everything. Katsuragi, I'll call you later to turn on the television."

Katsuragi only nodded at Mashima-sensei and Mashima-sensei left the classroom. Some of my classmates stood up from their seats to talk with our classmates they were mostly likely going to be talking about the exam.

I saw Hashimoto approaching me and so did him see me looking at him. As he got closer to my desk he started talking.

"Yo."

I just raised my hand to greet back Hashimoto.

"What do you think about the events? Did Princess tell you about our 5 Certain Events?"

"What do I think about it? It's not surprising I suppose. And no, Sakayanagi didn't tell me.

"I see so it seems like she only knows it. I thought she would let you know."

"Well, she didn't. She probably has a plan."

"Knowing her she most likely has one. What event do you think you're going to be participating King?

"Sakayanagi didn't tell me anything. Did she already assigned our classmates with the events?"

"Yeah, earlier this morning around 6 I think? She sent a message to all of us containing who is participating what event. Didn't she sent you anything?"

"No..."

Ah... That Sakayanagi, I bet she is laughing right now. Great.

"Can I see the message?"

"Yeah sure."

Hashimoto took out his phone/Student ID out of his pocket and opened it. After a second of doing something to it. He spoke.

"Sorry King but I can't show you anything. It says here that I can't show anyone. Including our classmate. Sorry about that."

"It's fine. Sakayanagi must be playing with me."

Hashimoto gave off a small laugh after I said that. That girl... She must be a demon or something. I would be lying if I said that I wasn't interested on what event that I'm going to be participating. I'm also interested in my opponents from Horikita's class would they be aggressive towards me? That would lead to their downfall though, not that I have any concerns regarding their loss on this exam.

"What events do you think you're going to be participating King?"

"Hmm... Say, do you know how to play basketball? I mean it is one of the events and you might be participating it along with Kito considering you have great physical abilities."

"Yeah, I know. I played during my elementary and middle school years."

I'm sort of not lying since the White Room is disguised as a school so the public will think that it is just a school on the countryside considering the White Room was located somewhere in the forest. And Sports was a huge thing in the White Room, we were taught about it starting from the mechanics, techniques and down to its own history and a lot of kids would play something during breaks Basketball being the one that was being played the most. I didn't join in one of the games since it would be unfair if the one team has someone like me, it wouldn't be fair to the other team that didn't have me plus I like observing. It gives my mind a break from learning academics and what not.

"Then you must be good then."

"I wouldn't say that I'm good I'm probably somewhere in the average."

Hashimoto snorted after I said that then proceeded to talk.

"I feel like you're lying. But anyways you don't really need to say if your average or not since you're now in Class A and a lot of people wouldn't be surprised aside from your former classmates I suppose. That's just my opinion though, no hard feelings."

"I see."

Me and Hashimoto continued talking. While we were talking I saw Katsuragi standing up and was heading towards the television in front of the classroom. Mashima-sensei must have called him just now. Katsuragi turned on the television and it attracted the attention of all of us in the room. Katsuragi went back to this seat and Hashimoto bid his goodbyes to me and went back to his seat. In television, we see the different area's where the 7 events are going to be held. As I looked around to see the faces of my classmates I saw that some of them are gulping due to the anxiety that they are feeling from the exam. Just by looking at the area's itself can give one nervousness regardless if he or she is participating in one of the events.

A few seconds passed when suddenly the voice of Mashima-sensei was heard through the speaker inside of our classroom.

"We will now start the special exam. For the first event, we're going to start with the Japanese History test. There will be 2 participants for this event, the scores of the two students from each class will be combined and the class that has the most points will win the event. The participants of this event, please proceed now to the Special Annex Building."

As Mashima-sensei said that two of my classmates stood and left the classroom. The students who left the room were Miki Yamamura and Koji Machida. Koji Machida, the only time I made any sort of contact with him was during the Cruise Ship Exam, during this class' civil war he was on Katsuragi's faction. I don't really know anything about his abilities but the fact that Sakayanagi picked him must show that he is an intelligent person well it shouldn't be surprising considering that he is a Class A student.

AN: I'll use Machida here since I don't really want to add an OC here. I don't know if Machida is intelligent but for this Fanfic, let's assume that he is. I hope you understand.

As for the other person, Miki Yamamura. She is an intelligent person without a doubt. She was in the top 5 in our recent test. She seems to be the quiet type, like me. I also heard some of my classmates calling her a gloomy person, also like me... Wow... We are similar in some ways, is she hiding some of her abilities if she has some? She seems to be neutral type just by looking at her. But by looking at her looks I can guess that she was at Sakayanagi's faction during this civil war.

AN: Thanks for reading this chapter even though it was short.

Sorry for not updating for a while. I was reading a lot of Manga's, Webtoon and other stuff.

I'm going to write the next chapter in the morning. So maybe there will be an update somewhere in the afternoon or evening,

Oh, before I forget. How was the new writing style? Do you like it? Hate it? Or have any suggestions for improvement? I'm accepting any sort of criticism so feel free to grill me if you want. If you guys don't like it then I can revert back to the old one.

Future chapters will be most likely short so that I can write more after I release a chapter. I hope you understand.
