Chaos

This takes place a month after the previous chapter.

Kudo Mansion, 7:00 am..

Conan groans as he hears the alarm go off, Haibara stirs in her sleep and nudges him to turn it off, too tired to speak.

He turns it off, and went back to bed, saying he'll rest for 5 more minutes before they get up to go to school.

Yeah..5 more minutes they thought...suddenly, a phone rings, making both of the shrunken adults wake up with annoyance, Conan sees the caller and finds Genta's phone number on display. "What do you want Genta.." Conan asks tiredly, yawning. "Where are you and Haibara, we've been waiting at the locker rooms for 10 minutes." Genta says not noticing his tired voice.

Conan's face fills with confusion as he checks the time, crap, it's 7:30 they're gonna be late. "U-Uh we'll be right there.." Conan says and hangs up the phone. He sits up quickly making Haibara sit up with him since she was laying on his chest.

"Hey what the hel-" "We're gonna be late!" Conan says and shoves the blanket off of the both of them. "What?!" Haibara says and checks the time on her phone. "Why the hell didn't you wake me up?" She asks getting up from the bed. "Well..I thought I'd get up in 5 mins, didn't know I'd sleep in.." Conan says nervously. Haibara scoffs and goes to the washroom to brush her teeth.

"You're lucky Kojima-kun called you, or else we'd sleep in until the school day was over." She says putting her toothbrush in her mouth. Conan groans as he gets his clothes out then walks towards the washroom to brush his teeth as well. "I've already gone through half of highschool, why am I doing it all over again." He complains as he gets his toothbrush and Haibara leaves the washroom to go back to the room.

She gets her clothes out and changes quickly, then brushing her hair. Soon enough, Conan exits the washroom and walks over to where he put his clothes, he changes and brushes his hair as well.

Both of them quickly grab their bags and rush downstairs, Haibara checked the time and sighed as she calculated the time she needs to be at school. They both made coffee and Conan grabbed a piece of toast and put it in his mouth. It usually took 10 mins to get to their school by walking but this time they will be running there so 5 at max.

Haibara finished her coffee while Conan tried not to spill his. They put on their shoes and finally Conan drank all his coffee, his toast still in his hand, Haibara shook her head at the sight. They exited the house and Conan locked the door as they walked to the gate.

They started running down the blocks and Conan choked on his last piece of toast. Haibara stopped him abruptly and patted him on the back to help him, then they quickly resumed their running, reaching class just on time.

Both of them breathing heavily as they entered the classroom and sat in their seats, thankfully, Kobayashi sensei was still not in the room.

Conan brought his water bottle to his lips and gulped down his drink. Kobayashi sensei entered the room with a smile and started the lesson. Haibara ignored the confused looks of Ayumi, Mitsuhiko, and Genta while Conan just shrugged them off.

After 4 classes, it was finally lunch time, they got up to pack their things and the 3 semi teenagers walked up to them. "Why were you guys almost late?" Ayumi asks, both Conan and Haibara looked at each other for a second, they knew they couldn't tell the kids the same excuse because they'll be suspicious and find out they were dating, so Haibara took the safe side and told her excuse first. "I slept in." She naturally says, looking at Conan, now he was pressured to make up a lie since Haibara took that excuse.

The 3 shrugged at her answer because they knew Haibara was a sleep person. They turned to Conan and waited with curiosity. "Uh- well..I...got called by the teacher." He says scratching his head. They seemed suspicious but suddenly, something appeared in Genta's head.

"You guys I just remembered, today after lunch our class is requested to go to the gym for the yearly activities taking place. It's graded." Conan was relieved that the attention was diverted to someone else, but was confused about the news, he didn't have any activities like these when he was a bit younger, maybe it's a new thing for younger high schoolers.

"Oh yes I heard from the other classes, they already did theirs and I'm so excited!" Ayumi exclaims, Haibara and Conan accept the news as they can do nothing about it although they're dreading something like physical activities right now.

The bell rings indicating that lunch is over, they walk back to class and sit down waiting for the teacher, she enters and announced that same news and tells them to stand in lines to walk to the gym.

They reach the gym and the sports teacher approaches them enthusiasticly explaining what activities they will take part in. "First we have the team work game, you will all split up in teams of 3 and will attempt to try these exercises one by one, it's not necessary that you accomplish all of them, it's important that you try and your team work communication will be noted down and is important for your grade."

"Oh and by the way, first let's do some workouts to stretch our bodies and get ready for the upcoming challenges." She says and tells everyone to form a big circle, standing side by side. She's in the middle of it and starts to demonstrate to the students how to stretch their bodies, they follow her moves and stretch.

10 mins go by as they stretch, then the teacher whistles with her two fingers on her mouth. "Alright now everyone form a group of three, but for this first exercise it needs two strong boys and one girl, so choose wisely." She says, everyone was confused but did as she said, some were mixed though, but it was just because of the uneven numbers in the class.

Conan, Mitsuhiko and Haibara are on one team, Ayumi, Genta and another boy on one team, and the rest of the class the same. When everyone's picked their teams the teacher announces the first exercise. "So now that you're all ready, the first exercise you will be doing or attempt to do is this." She points at a projector screened on the rolling big scroll.

It demonstrated two people on either side holding up a person, forming the shape of a triangle. Students watch in horror on how they're supposed to do that kind of shape.

"Again guys, it's not important that you do it perfectly, it's that you try with your teammates and communicate." Everyone sighs and gets to work trying all kinds of strategies. Haibara asks herself how she got herself into this kind of mess. "Okay so let's try it like this, me and Mitsuhiko will put our hands out, you will lean on our shoulder and stand on our hands, then we'll pull you up." Conan says as both Haibara and Mitsuhiko look at him like he's grown to heads.

"Did you forget about my anxiety, no way." Haibara says crossing her arms. "Do we have a choice?" Conan asks, Mitsuhiko acknowledges the situation and speaks up. "Conan's right, the teacher said that the communication and team work was all that mattered, it's okay if we fail, at least we tried." He explains and Haibara thinks for a while in her head.

Finally giving in, she nodded. Both of the boys put out their hands, clasping each together, Haibara slowly leaned her hands on their shoulders and brought one leg up and landed it on Mitsuhiko's hand, then slowly the other on Conan's. She starts to lose her balance and falls but both guys catch her at the same time.

"I can't do it." She says standing up. "It's okay, you can do it, let's try again." Conan says and she sighs looking at Mitsuhiko. She does the same and leans on both the boy's shoulders bringing her foot up Mitsuhiko's hands then the same with Conan.

She wiggles for a bit before finding her balance. "Whenever you're ready." Conan says looking at Mitsuhiko, then both count to 3 as they lift up Haibara and she gasps, halfway through she stumbles and loses her balance, falling onto Conan, everyone dives their attention to the two as Conan's back hits the ground, while Haibara was on top of him.

"Oh gosh, are you okay?" The teacher asks walking up to them. They both groan in pain and slowly stand up, Conan looks the most in pain out of the two, Haibara looks at him with sorrow in her eyes. "Sorry.." she mumbles helping him up, he rubs his back and nods. "Don't be, I was the one who didn't warn you beforehand."

"You guys were amazing, well before you both fell, but I could see you from across the room and you almost had it, an A+ on this activity." She says in the most biggest smile ever. "Wait so you were watching us the whole time and didn't try to help them when you saw them falling?" Mitsuhiko asks looking at the teacher.

"Well ofc not, I needed you to mess up so that you'll learn from your mistakes and get back up again." She said all happy. Both the shrunken adults look at her dead in the eye but she pretends she didn't notice.

After that they continued with multiple activities, sweating and panting through the last one. The bell rings indicating the end of the school day. "Thank you all for your hard work, I'm impressed by most of you guys, see you all another day." She smiles waving at the students. All of them mumble "I hope not" and walk out of the gym to the lockers.

"I'm so hungry I could eat a cow." Genta says grabbing his stomach. "I'm sure you could, Genta." Mitsuhiko says patting him on the back. "I'm going home, bye everyone." Haibara says waving and walking out. Conan following after her only by a few mins. He catches up to her and walks beside her.

"Wanna cuddle in bed and watch Netflix all day while ordering take out?" Conan asks remembering the hectic day they went through. She nods and they both walk home doing exactly that.
