Author's POV

Haneul didn't show that she was hurt by his actions just now. She saw him nod, yet again not even looking at her.

‘Was I that much of a sour sight, to even look at?’ she thought in her head, while she carefully shifted Eva on the sofa. Beside Wonwoo tugging her well in the blanket. She made her way out downstairs.

“I didn't even sleep on his shoulder intentionally, it was just unintentional, yet he told me off like that?” she mumbled to herself, walking towards the kitchen. And started making the lunch. It was almost around one in the afternoon.

While Wonwoo kept looking at the door from where she left, sighing for nth time. He then again glanced at Eva snuggled up in a blanket beside him, then he eyes went to Haneul's phone on the table, ‘She must have forgot it.’ Wonwoo thought to himself. Then when the phone lit up, he smiled looking at her lockscreen.

It was Eva and Haneul, both were sitting on the floor, in front of the full length mirror in their bedroom closet, while Eva was kissing Haneul's lips and she took the mirror selfie. (the reference 👇🏻 imagine it as the little girl kissing her lips)

Wonwoo realised, Eva has been more affectionate towards Haneul than him, maybe because he was mostly at work and Haneul spent more hours of the day with her. Or maybe she just really needed a mother, just like how his Mom, Mrs. Jeon said.

Just then her phone rang again, he frowned looking at the name displayed, it was ‘Koo 🎀’

He contemplated if he should pick up or not? But something in him told him to pick up. Curiosity got the best of him, he picked up the call, bringing her phone to his ear. Even before he could say anything, the person on the other line said, “Bun?! How can you do that to me? You got married and damn you forgot me totally?! How can you betray me like that? At least come to me-” The sulky, whiny sound came from the other side and what caused Wonwoo to lose his cool was, the person on the other side being a male, and the way he called her nicknames.

Wonwoo cut his sentence short, intervening with his voice hard, cold and sharp enough to cut through anything, if that was possible.

“Who are you?” Wonwoo asked, his grip on the phone tightening, and jaw clenching.

“Wait? It is Park Haneul's number right?” The guy on the other side asked, confusedly. “Well, technically she is now, Jeon Haneul for your information, Mr. And secondly you know about her marriage but don't know about her husband?” Wonwoo added coldly. He didn't know why he was getting worked up.

But it was his right to do so, no? He was really her husband, but had he ever treated her that way?

“Oh I see... Can I speak to your wife Mr. Jeon?” The man on the other side mocked him, he could tell. But he composed himself, “she is busy at the moment.” He simply said, not until Haneul was entering the theatre.

She saw him talking on the phone, his expressions hardened further. She walked to him, with a frown. “Is that my phone?” She asked pointing at the phone still placed on his ear. He nodded, with cold and unreadable expressions handing her device back to her. When she saw the name on her screen, he swore her eyes brightened instantly, he had to hold himself back from scoffing out loud.

“Hello Koo?!” She chirped excitedly, still keeping her voice down and careful not to wake Eva up. “Wait!” she addressed the call, then turned her attention to Wonwoo.

“Lunch is ready, I'll wake Eva up you also come.” She informed him, and didn't even wait for his reply, turning to Eva she woke her up, and told her to freshen up, when she went out Haneul followed her, while he was just analysing her every expression and move, with his unreadable and sickeningly gorgeous, fox eyes.

“So what were talking Koo? And when did you came back?!” She excitedly talked over the device, he has never seen her act so excited and cute except for when she is playing around with Eva, of course.

He rolled his eyes, closing the laptop, he followed behind close to Haneul, curious to know the identity of that man.

“I'm finally shifting in Seoul, Dad handed over the Seoul branch to me, alongside Jimin I'll work on my own company.” The man on the line said, but Wonwoo couldn't hear it.

“What?! Really?! Then it means we get to hang out often, like old times?!” she excitedly skipped down the stairs, Wonwoo was starting to feel annoyed at her excitement for someone else than him. But was he ready to accept that? Nope, definitely not.

“Maybe or maybe not?” She frowned. “What do you mean?” She asked, over the call, Wonwoo could only hear the conversation from her side.

“Your husband seemed scary, plus Eva?” She frowned, she skipped into the kitchen. When Wonwoo sat on the dining chair which was facing back to the kitchen counter, “You bet, she would love to hangout with you, I mean she is such a sweetheart.” Haneul assured the man on the call.

“What about your husband?” She glanced at him, to see him engrossed in his laptop. That's what she thought but it was almost the opposite, he was listening to her every word closely. “He wouldn't care anyway. I mean he would about Eva, but I don't matter, you bet.” She murmured, thinking Wonwoo really didn't care for her, she was just his responsibility for him, who was beneficiary for his daughter, and those thoughts were like hard punches in her guts, but she didn't know, Wonwoo had a good earshot of her voice, he frowned slightly. His back was facing her.

“It didn't seem like to me, dude.” She frowned as she served the plates, for their food. “What do you mean?” She asked.

The guy over the call laughed only, “Yah! Tell me what is that supposed to mean?!” She almost yelled but controlled herself. And walked towards the dinning table with a single plate for Wonwoo because Eva wasn't there yet.

“I'll tell you after meeting, tomorrow evening can you meet Jimin hyung and I'll come to meet you and Eva?” She nodded, happily. “Yes you can!” then bidding bye they hang up the call, just as she was about to go call Eva, the little one ran downstairs. Haneul placed the phone on the dining table, it was unlocked.

Eva sat on her chair beside her father, while Wonwoo was in his own thoughts, his food still untouched. ‘Did she had nothing to hide? Then who was that man? That definitely wasn't her cousin’ He thought in his head looking at the unlocked device.

Haneul bought over two dishes one for herself and one for Eva, she settled down on the other side of Eva. “Princess tomorrow your Chim Samcheon is coming.” Wonwoo looked at Haneul with a little frown on his stoic face.

As if understanding his silent question in his gaze, “Jimin is coming tomorrow, with another friend of ours.” She said, helping the little excited girl to eat. ..I apologise for the sudden, change of POV to third person, but I felt like it would be more better if I showed their some interactions with third person POV. .
