Chapter 15 7th Eruption

"Nee-san, other than eating honkai fuel rods, do you have other things that have happened to you after you absorb the reason core?" Sirin asked

Mom and Dad are out of the ward. Probably to a meeting room or something to discuss with Einstein and Tesla my condition and future treatments especially since they don't want me to become a lab rat. Kira and Niggurath are outside trying to acquire snacks. Avrora is out of the room and also doing something. The only one left inside the room is Sirin and Kiana, both in my bed playing around, and Bella and Aunt Teri who is sitting beside my bed.

"Yes, it is the only weird thing I have experienced." I try to cover up my nervousness. I don't want to tell her about the visions since I myself don't understand them. 

""..."" Both Sirin and Kiana are in silence, although I can't see them, I can feel their stare at my face

"Sirin nee-san, looks like we caught a liar," Kiana said

"Yeah, something else did happen right nee-san?" Sirin said menacingly

"Wah? How can you guys know that I am lying?"

"It shows on your face, and for some reason, I have a strong feeling in my heart that tells me you are lying, perhaps this is due to me also being the HoV" Sirin said

"Ugh~ I never thought I get to find out so soon"

"So? what happened?" Sirin asked persistently

"Fine, I will tell you guys. After I absorb the reason core, I blacked out right? during the blackout, I was having numerous visions, and yesterday night when I am sleeping, I encountered another vision" I explain to them.

"Visions? what type of visions?" Theresa asked

"It is like I was watching a movie, it was ..." I tell them my visions.

"So, there is a girl like nee-san and Mei nee-san, with the leader of the world serpent? which is an organization that wants to commit genocide, but he is a bit different in the visions. The girl that looked like you is the little sister of this Kevin guy. And then a honkai eruption takes place?" Sirin said.

"Yup, more or less, I am also quite confused about the visions, my best guess is that it was some sort of dream or something."

"I have a hypothesis" Suddenly a voice comes from the door.

It was Welt, who entered the ward carrying a container of honkai rods and fruits.

"Wait, it's not nice to eavesdrop you know" Theresa said to him

"I am sorry, I was planning on entering but I don't want to stop Liana's explanation, by the way, here are the fruits for everybody to eat, these rods are for you Liana" Welt said

"Alright!, let me taste them" I said as I grab the container and opened them. "Oh? it has a different smell, smells like bacon"

I chucked one into my mouth

"Oh it also tastes like Bacon"

"Hmmm, it looks like different reactor produces different taste. Liana, next time, I will bring rods from another reactor to see whether or not it changes the taste." Welt said

 "Sure, I am also curious about their taste."

"Anyway Welt, you said you have a hypothesis regarding Liana's visions?" Theresa asked

"Yes, there are two actually. The first one is that it is the memories of the core. As you know, cores contain memories. These memories are imprinted by the Herscher thus any subsequent Herscher will have some flashbacks etc. There are a few problems with this hypothesis. First of all, I didn't experience these images back when I am holding the core. The probable explanation for this is maybe the core need to be fully disassembled and absorb to unlock these I would assume old memories since based on what I know, Kevin existed even before the Romans and Egyptians existed." Welt explain

"Wait, isn't the core formed on the first eruption? how could it contain very old memories, and who is it?" Sirin asked

"Well, my best guess is that since the core of reason actually holds hundreds of thousands of individual people's thoughts, perhaps these memories are from one of them. Due to its structure and utility as the holder of these thoughts, it can store a huge amount of memories thus by dissembling them and absorbing them, you are experiencing all the memories one at a time."

"I see, make sense" I said

"The second thing is that judging from your story, the world in the vision is quite modern, for an old memory this is impossible unless it occurred in the previous era." Welt said

"Previous Era?" Sirin asked

"A human civilization 50,000 years in the past which is highly advance. They are however destroyed by the final Herrscher" Welt explained.

"Ok, so what is the second hypothesis?" I asked Welt

"The second one is a bit more far-fetched but since you are here, a traveler between worlds, I will not rule out an almost sci-fi scenario. So I think that the memories are your own, you are watching as a third person of your own life back in the previous era." Welt said

"Wait, wait, wait, I am a clone, I wasn't supposed to be born, and even though I am born, how can I be from the previous era?" 

"Have you ever heard of reincarnation?" Welt asked

"Reincarnation?" Theresa asked "Are you saying that Liana is the reincarnation of the girl in Liana's dream?"

"Yes, to be honest, when I checked documents belonging to the previous era, I find that some people there actually have similar appearances to people today. You can say it is their descendants if it is not by the fact that everybody died after HoTE destroy humanity. Thus that makes me believe that the memories are in fact your previous life's memories. Usually in the stories, when people reincarnate they completely forget their past lives, but perhaps for a number of reasons such as not actually belonging in this [world], having more than one Herrscher core, being able to still be somewhat human, and absorbing a Herrscher core, etc, you can remember past lives."

"But I am a clone, I shouldn't be born if not for Otto who created me to do his bidding"

"Well, it kinda depends actually, based on my research on reincarnation and data I got from the previous era, I find that there is some sort of order. You won't be reincarnated randomly at random timeframes. My theory is that even if you are not born in a clone body, you will be born in the next descendants of the Kaslana family." Welt said

"What about if the Kaslana family doesn't have a child?" I ask

"Well, I don't know, as I said this is just a theory and I also still don't understand the process behind reincarnation" Welt answers.

"Ok, your second hypothesis basically said that my previous life is that of Kevin's sister?" I asked, "Wait, does that mean that Mei-senpai is Kevin's girlfriend?!!!!"

"Well, this is just a theory after all so it might not be true, so relax" Welt answered

"Liana, if you experience any more visions, please tell us ok?" Theresa said

"Ok Aunt, will do" I answered

"Ok, I guess that's all I want to say, I will try to investigate more on previous era documents, but they are few and far between and the information in them sometimes is not clear. Anyways, hope you get well soon Liana" Welt says as he left the room.

"*sigh, this situation is getting weirder and weirder, we still didn't know what grandpa is up to and we have your vision problem." Theresa sigh and the sound of her sitting on the sofa is heard. "My head hurts"

"Theresa-sama, usually in times of a headache, a quick nap is required, I would suggest you get a short sleep on the sofa, maybe 15 minutes or so is enough" Bella said

I don't know why but after Bella said about sleeping, I started to get sleepy. Both Kiana and Sirin also yawn audibly, indicating that they are sleepy too. Damn it, Herrscher shouldn't need to sleep, why do I and Sirin feel sleepy? it must be some sort of hypnosis by Bella, I need to ask her later since I don't have the energy now.

"I guess I'll take the offer then, wake me up later ok Bella?" Theresa said

Suddenly I felt a tug on my blanket and two bodies snuggle up to me on both sides.

"Kiana? Sirin?" I said

"Liana nee-san, I am tired, I want to sleep with you" Kiana said in a cute tone

"Ok, Ok, let's sleep ok?" I said as my arms are hugged by Kiana and Sirin

Somehow, I feel at peace. Sleeping together with my family, thinking back, back in my world, I can't imagine spending time with family. I feel warm now, even though I still can't see, but just having people around who care for you is such a wonderful thing.

As I was thinking that, I hear a soft breathing sound near me. Looks like both of them have fallen asleep. I decided to also start sleeping.

"Bella, wake us up later too" I whispered to Bella

"Yes Queen Mother, I will wake you guys later" Bella whispered back.

I nodded and started to sleep...

A black space. Since I was blind I started to get used to seeing black spaces. But this time it is different, I could see my hand and body, which means this is a dream, that vision.

As if on cue, the black space shines brightly and revealed a room, inside there was this dream's Liana, the girl that looked like me, sitting on the bed. The room is a standard room with a single bed, an end desk with a night light on top of it, a bookshelf, and a table and chair. On the bed, there is a dual pistol.

The girl takes the dual pistol and put them in her holsters and stands up and puts the weapons down on the end table. She is in a white dress, looking absolutely beautiful. I think to myself that I never thought I would look good in a dress since I never tried it, but looking at her, it seems to fit me.

The door opened and what looks to be Himeko-sensei comes inside the room.

"Liana, stop lazing around, we need to go to the party, we are late." Himeko said

"Captain, are you sure to not bring any weapons? it brings me anxiety" Liana said

"Come on, it is a MOTH party, everybody is an ally, why should you bring a weapon?" Himeko answered as she leaves the room.

"Ah wait Captain" Liana said as she too leaves the room.

Hmmm, Captain Himeko? looks like this Liana is a member of the Fire MOTH now, but judging from the previous visions, Kevin is a little bit of a siscon, so why would he allow his sister to join the organization that fights Honkai? Also, it looks like a good time has passed since I see that This Liana is a bit taller and more mature compared to the last one. 

The scene changes into a party hall filled with people in party dresses, Liana entered with Himeko into the room. A lot of people are staring at these duo beauties in their pretty dresses.

"Captain, Liana, you guys are late" Hua said as she moves closer to them both.

"It's because of this brat not wanting to part with her weapons" Himeko said

"Hey, it is just that I am anxious ok" Liana said

"Look, your junior, Hua, is relaxed, you should be a role model for them" Himeko said.

"*smiles, well I still need to learn many things from Liana-senpai" Hua said.

"See!! I am a wonderful role model. Captain, you are just nitpicking my weakness" Liana proudly says.

"*ehem, Liana, why are you wearing a dress?" A voice comes from behind Liana and she turns around to look at the source. It was her brother Kevin. Kevin wore a blue suit and black formal shoes, looking at him again, he is quite handsome. 

"What do you mean, nii-san? it is a party, so of course, you should use a dress" Liana said.

"You can catch a cold, here" Kevin said as he remove his blue tuxedo and drape it on her shoulders.

"What do you mean cold? I feel fine" Liana said in a perplexed tone but still accept the tuxedo. 

"Liana, he is uncomfortable seeing you in a dress. You are a beautiful woman, moreover, that dress really shows your beauty, since you entered this room, the amount of guys staring at you is in the dozens, he doesn't like you to be ogled by these other men." Mei comes and stood next to Kevin, she still wears her lab coat over her formal work clothes. I guess she has just come out of the lab.

"Pfft, siscon" Himeko tried to hold her laugh but couldn't

"Captain, it is a wonderful sibling relationship, let's let them be" Hua said as she too holds her laughter.

"Shut up Himeko, this is because of you right? why else would Liana wear a dress?" Kevin said.

"Yes it is, isn't she beautiful? Perhaps I could be her matchmaker to someone" Himeko grins cheekily.

"You vixen, if you want to attract men do it on your own, don't drag my innocent sister into it." Kevin said as he move Liana behind him.

"Now, now, it's not like it is all a bad thing right Kevin? I am sure Himeko will not endanger your Liana, plus it is reasonable to start looking for a partner right? I mean you and I date on her age." Mei said.

"But Mei.." Kevin tries to speak but got interjected.

"Alright, alright, I was just joking, of course, I will not let any man come near her Kevin, so rest assured." Himeko said. "I just wanted to tease you a bit on your siscon tendencies."

"Wait where is Liana?" Mei asked

"She is there, near the food area, she has gone there after you enter, she said she wants a quick snack" Hua said as they all look at the food area. Liana is seen there with a plate full of food. That is definitely not a snack.

"pfft, looks like your sister hasn't grown from her childish tendencies to eat a lot" Mei laughed

"I don't know whether I should be happy or not about that" Kevin said.

The scene change. From the peaceful party room, a war-torn city is emerge. Fires are everywhere, some people are seen trapped inside buildings burning alive while others try to flee the city as thick black smoke continues to rise from the numerous fires.

Suddenly honkai beast started to emerge from the fire. They attacked anybody in their way killing them. At an intersection, there is a small girl holding a doll looking terrified while staring at her mama getting pinned down by rubble. Her sister is seen trying to lift the rubble that is pinning down their mother.

"Sakura, take Rin and run to the Fire MOTH." The mother said

"Mother, we can't leave you here" Sakura said

"Nee-san, let me help you" Rin said as she move next to her sister and tries to lift the rubble up

Multiple honkai beasts is closing in on them.

"Sakura, there is no time, LEAVE" The mother said

Sakura looks at the tearful eyes of her mother, and with eyes full of tears she grabs Rin and runs away from the honkai beast.

"NO!!!, MAMA!!!!!" Rin screamed as she was carried by Sakura which tears gushing down her cheeks while she is continuing to run.

"Good girl Sakura, protect your sister for me, I believe in you" The mother said softly while looking at her two daughters running knowing full well of her fate as she closes her teary eyes.

The Honkai beast closes in on her and tear her to pieces as blood and visceral stuff scattered the ground.

As Sakura runs, Rin is still crying. They reach another intersection with honkai beasts. But this time there is a group of people that is fighting and killing them. One of them spotted the kid and come to them.

"Hey are you ok?, don't worry we will get you out of here" Liana said

"Who are you?" Sakura looked warily at the stranger and tightened her embrace on her sister.

"Don't worry, we are from Fire MOTH" Hua said coming behind Liana as their squad finished off the last of the beast in the intersection.

"Are you the one that my mother said to run to? Fire MOTH?" Sakura asked

"Probably yes, we are here to control the situation, we have refugees camp further back, let me ask someone to take you back ok? Btw where is your mother?" Liana asked

"....She's dead" Sakura said solemnly

"Oh sorry, I shouldn't have asked that" Liana said as she looked down to the floor

"Anyways let's get you to safety, follow her to the refugee center ok?" Hua said as she pointed to one of our squad member.

"Alright" Sakura said as she carried Rin and followed the squad member that will take them to the refugee center.

"Alright Liana, we manage to get a hold of Captain Himeko's whereabouts, it is near the square in the middle of the city." Hua said

"Ok, let's go to save our Captain, honestly who would've thought that she was in Australia, maybe she is finding new man or something" Liana said

The squad runs toward the square and they met a figure surrounded by flames.

"Ah, Captain Himeko, we come to find you" Liana said

"Captain Himeko, we should go back, the area is full of fire" Hua said

The figure turns around, her eyes ablaze in flames, she looks at the squad as her hands come out pillars of fire.

"Go back? pfftt, humans, your captain Himeko is dead, now burn for me." Himeko said as the pillars attacked the squad, instantly burning most of the squad, sounds of screaming and shouting for help as the squad members flailed helplessly as they are burned alive.

"Liana, we need to go back, Captain Himeko has become a Herrscher" Hua said as she grabbed Liana

"Wait, maybe we can bring back the Captain" Liana said, "Captain, don't let the Herrscher controls your body, fight back" She screamed.

"Shut Up!!!" Herrscher Himeko said as flames attacked both of them

"Hua!!!" Liana exclaimed as she grab Hua away and shield her from the flame.

"Liana!! are you ok?" Hua said as she look towards Liana's left hand which is burning with flames as she saw Liana's face in pain.

"Liana" Hua said her name again as she tries to stop the flame from burning Liana's hand but to no avail. Suddenly the flame burning Liana's hand stops burning.

"Li...ana, Hu..a, run...away" The Herrscher figure falls limply on her knees

"Captain?" Liana asked in shock as she holds her burnt left hand in pain

"Captain? have you managed to defeat the Herrscher persona?" Hua asked as she stands up and helped Liana stand too.

"Run... I can't. ... Hold it..." Himeko said as flames started to reappear on her body and fires started to blaze from her eyes. "I am surprised to see that you two could bring back Captain Himeko, but no more, I will end you two" The Herrscher said as her hands becomes full of fire and shoot out a massive fireball toward the two of them.

They both stared at the fireball hurling toward them knowing full well that there is no way of dodging it. As they braced for their deaths however....

The fireball was deflected and the fire died immediately. Surrounding fires died down as a man stood in front of the two of them.

"Nii....-san?" Liana slowly addresses the individual

There is something different however, an air of coldness is felt around him, his blue eyes have become very cold and in his hands are shards of ice. He looked at both of them.

"Hua, take Liana out of here, I will deal with her" Kevin said as he generated an ice wall between the two of them and him. After that, he faces the Herrscher that have a perplexed look.

"How can you extinguish my flames?" The Herrscher asked angrily. "No matter, let me show you more flames then" Flames started to reappear on her hands and body as the Herrscher shoots out another massive fireball.

"Hmmph, nobody touches my sister when I am still around, he said as he created a huge ice crystal and shoot it at the fireball immediately destroying it. Then an ice blade is formed on his hand and he runs towards the Herrscher while deploying numerous other ice blades and shooting them at the Herrscher to distract her.

The Herrscher generates a wall of flame to block the ice crystals but failed to notice Kevin who is charging at her. As the wall of flame falls down, Kevin appears right in front of her and stab her.

The Herrscher immediately tries to dodge but still get stab in her left shoulder immediately freezing her left hand and since of cell death due to cold appeared near the stab.

The two backed off a bit as the Herrscher tried to reignite her left arm but to no avail.

"Now, Herrscher, return the body or I will kill you" Kevin said.

"NEVER!!!" The Herrscher raised her hand and generated a supermassive fireball, it is as big as the square and buildings nearby started to burn again due to this mini star being generated inside the square.

As Kevin prepares to nullify the fireball, it disappeared. 

"Kevin...quick...kill" Himeko said as she struggled to take control of the body for just a moment.

Kevin generates and ice blade and stabs her in the chest as her body freezes over.

"Thank..you Kevin...Liana...Take care" She said as her eyes stopped showing signs of life.

Kevin closes her eyes with his hands.

"Thank you for taking care of my sister. Don't worry, I will protect her from now on, rest in peace" Kevin said as he retrieves the Herrscher's core from Himeko's chest. After the core is removed, the body started to disintegrate into sand. To prevent it, Kevin freezes the body and carried it back to base.

###The scene finished as the world turns black again. This vision is even more confusing. Himeko is a Herrscher now, Kevin has this new ice power thingy, and that my hand is burned?

Wait ok let's think about this. I am indeed in a squad led by Himeko-sensei, but I turned Herrscher instead of her. Maybe if I hadn't turned Herrscher, she will?

Welt said that these visions are probably either the memories trapped in the core or my previous life's memories. But if I were to try and piece out all the visions, there is always a character in them, and that is me. Damn it, if this is my previous life, it makes sense that Mei-senpai and Kevin are different, Hua is different, and every single person is different since this is also their previous life. But why do we reincarnate anyway? didn't Honkai-chan say that if the world comes to an end, the branch is restarted? shouldn't it be restarted then after the civilization in PE is destroyed?

As I was thinking that, I can hear people talking and something is moving in my arm. It looks like I will wake up.

A/N:

Can anybody tell me the rough age of Sakura and Rin during the 7th eruption? If not then I would just assume that Sakura is a teenager while Rin is still a single-digit age.

It looks like Liana is dawning on the fact that the visions are her previous life, maybe in the future we will know more about reincarnation. 😉😉
