Chapter 14 Evolution?

"Liana, your breakfast is ready, you should wake up"

Monica woke me up in the morning and put my breakfast on the bed's table. Avrora then moves next to me and feeds me the food. It tastes worse, rather than tastes like nothing, I felt it is like eating garbage that has been picked up in the sewers, it is so disgusting. I throw up.

"Queen Mother, are you ok?" Avrora quickly wipes my mouth and hands from my vomit.

"Liana, are you fine? is your stomach upset?" Monica said

I feel like my stomach is churning, the taste is so bad that it sticks to my tongue, and I throw up again.

"Queen Mother" Avrora exclaimed while wiping the second vomit.

"Monica, get Einstein over here" I ask her with a feeble tone.

Monica left and return with Einstein following her.

"Liana, I heard you call for me?" Einstein said

"Einstein, I want you to not tell anyone else ok? you guys too Avrora, Monica" I said

"What do you mean? To your family?" Einstein asks

"Yes, don't tell them"

"...Ok, I will keep the secret." Einstein said after thinking

"There is something wrong with me, yesterday I can't taste anything but today when I eat, it felt like I am eating garbage from the sewers. My smell, touch, and hearing also seem degraded." Liana said.

"Hmmm, this is a big problem, why do you keep it a secret? you should have told me yesterday" Einstein said

"Well, I kinda hope today will be better, plus I am not in any pain"

"Liana, your senses have dulled out, have you ever thought that perhaps your sense of pain has dulled out or you none at all?" Einstein said

"Ehh, It never crossed my mind, sorry" I said dejectedly, why didn't I think of that?

"*sigh, for now, we will run some tests on your level of degraded performance to see how many senses you actually lost." Einstein said as I heard a pencil scribbling noises.

"Sure, by the way Einstein, did you bring anything with you? It smells delicious" I said sniffing the air.

"Maybe it is the food in front of you? I didn't bring any food" Einstein said

"No, after you come in, the smell started to appear, you must be bringing some delicious  food and want to hide it since I am blind, come clean Einstein." I said "Hmmm, it smells like fried chicken"

"What are you saying Liana? is your brain also having issues? I didn't bring any food" Einstein said in a confused tone.

"Let me check, come closer" I said as I wave my hand around in the direction of Einstein's voice

Einstein comes closer, and the smell intensifies

"Liar, the smell strengthens while you are approaching" I pouted as I stretch my hand which coincidentally enters her pocket, I take the stuff inside and brings it to my nose, the item is the fried chicken, although a bit of a peculiar shape, maybe a chicken nugget in stickie form (Like a stick) or something, I am craving for good food. 

"Wait Liana, that is..." Einstein panicked

For sure Einstein lied, but why would she hide chicken nuggets inside her pocket? weird, but maybe smart people tend to do weird stuff now and then so I let it slide.

"Shut up Einstein, you lied to me about not bringing any food, you just don't want to share your chicken nuggets, by the way, why do you cover the nugget in a glass tube?" I said as I opened the tube and pop the nugget inside my mouth. "Oh wow, this is the best nugget I have ever tasted, what the hell? no wonder you hide it and even put it inside a glass tube to make sure no one can smell it, sadly for you I am a professional foodie, even if my sense of smell is degraded, I can smell good food from miles away."

Silence, no one replied to me

"Queen Mother? as far as I can tell it is not a chicken nugget" Avrora anxiously said

"What do you mean? is it real fried chicken instead?" I replied

"Liana, are you sure it tasted good?" Einstein asked, her tone is darker for some reason, perhaps she is angry at me for stealing her nugget.

"Yeah, the best chicken I have tasted"

Silence ....

"What is it? why are you guys silent?" I asked them

"Liana, the thing you ate is not a nugget" Einstein said as she takes away the tube that is still in my hand. "It is a honkai fuel rod that is used to fuel a honkai reactor." 

"A what? Hahaha stop joking Einstein, it is very funny, I almost believe it." 

"Liana, I am not joking, that thing is indeed a honkai fuel rod that I have put inside this souleum-coated glass tube to be given to Tesla to build a new honkai weapon." Einstein said in a grim tone.

"You mean I just ate a honkai reactor's insides? do honkai fuel rod taste like chicken?" 

"I don't know what honkai fuel rod tastes like, but even getting close to it for too long could kill you let alone touch it. A scientist touched one of these and immediately lose all his senses and zombified. So no one has been able to determine the rod's taste." Einstein said

"Then.. Then I will die?" I asked nervously

"I don't see any sign of honkai radiation poisoning from you and actually I feel you are a lot healthier... Wait, you said the food taste like sewers?" Einstein asked

"Garbage from the sewers, it smells bad"

"Yeah, and the honkai fuel rod tastes like chicken nuggets?" Einstein asks again

"Yeah, and smells good too"

"Hmmmm...." Einstein is thinking before she said "Liana, don't panic ok, but I think you are no longer human"

"HUH? what do you mean?" 

I am not human? what the hell is this scientist saying?

"Liana, you just eat a honkai fuel rod and said that it tastes like chicken, Your body appeared more healthy after you eat the core, you said you hate the food in front of you that taste like garbage sewer when I can smell it is normal food. Maybe you have evolved into a species that eats honkai energy, I don't know what the species is however since I don't think Herrscher eat honkai energy, they absorb them for sure but do not taste it like chicken, or at least Welt didn't" Einstein explained. "Wait, I'll bring more fuel cells to experiment ok? be right back". She left.

"Avrora, Monica, is it true that the thing I ate is a honkai fuel rod?" 

"I don't know how honkai fuel rods looked like Liana, but it did glow pink, and certainly not a chicken nugget." Monica said

"Queen Mother, if you would like, I could get more of these rods for you to eat" Avrora offered to help me acquire more.

"Wait, wait, glow pink? that means this thing really is a fuel rod"

Am I really no longer a human? what the hell man?

Einstein enters but she was not alone.

"Liana, Einstein said that there is some weird happening to your senses." Mom said

"Wait mom? why are you here?"

"It's not just Cecilia Liana, it's all of us" Aunt Teri said.

"Wait, Einstein did you tell them? didn't I say not to tell them?" 

"Well I was telling Tesla about it, since she is not your family, the promise still stands, Tesla tells the others about it." Einstein said

"You traitor scientist, come here, I will teach you a lesson"

"Liana, why don't you want to tell us? you know we care for you right?" Kira said

"I... I ..." I tried to speak

"Liana, are you afraid that we will be worried?" Mom asked directly

"......, yes, I hope to resolve it on my own."

"Stupid Nee-san, do you think it is just your problem if you are sick? it is all of us ok, so stop being a coward and tell us" Sirin said

"Yeah Stupid Nee-san" Kiana followed Sirin's saying

"Anyway Liana, here are the fuel rods" Einstein said as she dumps a large tube filled with rods in my hands

All of them smell nice, maybe I am no longer human. Although I am trying to contain myself, the smell is just so delicious that I need to eat it.

"Oh wow, this smells nice" I opened the tube and eat them all. "Oh, these taste really good, better than the previous one"

"Liana...." Mom calls my name as she sobs

"Dear, sit there on the sofa" Dad said

"Holy wotan, I thought I have seen it all, but to see a person casually eating a honkai fuel rod is a first for me" Tesla drop her opinion

"That is why I think she is no longer a human, maybe we can check her DNA to find differences with the human genome?" Einstein said

"Theresa-sama, you are part honkai beast right?" Niggurath asks

"Yeah, I am" Aunt Teri replied

"Do you like eating honkai fuel rods?" Kira asks

"Well I never tried it, not that I would, but certainly I don't smell anything" Aunt Teri said with a sigh. "It seems that the reason core has mutated you into something else Liana"

"Even I don't smell anything nee-san, it looks like you hate human foods but like honkai energy." Sirin said, even a Herrscher like her doesn't eat honkai energy like it's chicken nuggets

"When you absorb honkai energy, what is your feeling Sirin?" Dad asks

"I think it is similar to being empowered, or the feeling of adrenaline in your vein, a sort of euphoric/powerful moment depending on how much energy I absorb, but I don't eat it, let alone taste it. I mean it is energy, how can you taste energy?" Sirin answered

"Well it looks like Liana can, these rods are more energized than the first one, and you notice it its taste being better" Einstein said "By the way, you eat that like you are snacking Liana"

Yeah, I couldn't help it, I know this is a serious conversation and all, plus the thing in my hands are dangerous, but it smells so delicious that I had to eat it. So while the others are talking, I continued to eat them. As Einstein said that, I finished the last of the rods inside the tube.

"Oh man, I am stuffed"

"Ugh, I don't know is it bravery or stupidity, how can you be this casual knowing you are eating a honkai fuel rod?" Tesla screamed in astonishment.

"Uhmmm, cause it taste good?"

"Pfftt, Liana, stop it, hahaha" Mom burst into laughter

"Nee-san, is the pink rods taste good? can I taste them next time?" Kiana asked

"Kiana, that is not food for children, it is only food for weirdos like Liana Nee-san, don't eat it ok? even I don't eat it" Sirin said to Kiana

"Hey, I am not a weirdo"

"Says the person who eats fuel rods" Sirin said

"Hmph, it is just people's tastes are different"

"That only applies to actual food" Sirin argues

"Both of you stop fighting" Aunt Teri said, "Einstein, we should run some tests on Liana to find what exactly changed in her anatomy"

So Einstein and Tesla tested me.

"Well based on our test, her stomach has no stomach acid, but a fluid that catalyzes the rods and solid honkai crystals into a liquid form similar to syrup. All the enzymes inside the duodenum are replaced by an enzyme we call Honkamylase which breaks down the Honkai syrup into the pure form of honkai energy which is quantum energy. These syrups of quantum energy are absorbed into the bloodstream in the small intestine and any waste material is then moved to the large intestine and pooped out. Her cells actually feed on quantum energy that flows inside the bloodstream. We are still investigating how her cells can work with or without oxygen but her body still produces red and white blood cells, platelets, plasma, and any other normal blood composition which means that oxygen is preferred. We will continue studying it in more detail but if we can utilize the knowledge gained from these, we can maybe use it to generate energy or make humans more resistant to honkai since quantum energy is not as dangerous to humans as honkai energy. Our preliminary test to create quantum energy using the enzyme Honkamylase taken from her has proven not successful since, in air, the quantum energy quickly decomposes into honkai energy, further research needs to be done to determine how her body is able to sustain the quantum energy without it decomposing." Einstein read aloud the report of the experiments in front of everybody.

"Am I a lab rat now?" I asked nervously

I sense tension in the air.

"I will not let you take nee-san to experiment again" Sirin said as I feel the concentration of honkai energy increase in the room, it smells sweet.

"I will also not let my daughter be a lab rat" Dad said

"Woah, woah, obviously we will not treat Liana like a specimen, but do know that we need to take specimens from her to fully determine if her body cells can be used to save humanity" Tesla said.

"Liana, what do you think? wait what are you doing?" Aunt Teri ask

"Nee-san, stop sucking my finger, and stop eating my honkai energy" Sirin said as she struggles to remove her hands from my mouth but I grab her wrist strongly and prevented her to take her hand back. "Ahh~" Sirin's voice is a bit erotic but I couldn't care less since her honkai energy is so good.

"Oh my god, I never thought that I would see such an erotic scene between both of my daughters" Dad said in astonishment.

I let go of Sirin's hand and instantly she backed away

"I am sorry Sirin, your energy smells really sweet, taste like a sweet grape juice." I said to Sirin

"Then next time tell me first, don't just suck my fingers like that, it made me feel funny" Sirin said

"Will do Sirin"

"Hehehe, Funny huh?" Dad creepily laugh

"Siegfried" Mom said

"OW!" judging from Dad's reaction, mom must have hit him or twisted his ears.

"Pervert" Mom said "Wait, ah~, stop it" it looks like mom's finger is sucked by dad.

"Alright, alright, we will continue tonight" Dad said in a seductive tone

"Mo~~~" Mom said.

Honestly, it is best that they love each other so much.

"Judging by what you said, it looks like different honkai energy sources can cause different taste in honkai energy." Einstein said. "This need to be further investigated, I will gather some rods from other reactors and you can taste them"

"Alright, bring it later, I am full right now"

"Ok I will bring it during lunch" Einstein said as she and Tesla leave

"*sigh, a time travelling, Herrscher clone, that holds 4 Herrscher cores and eats honkai energy? what more insane status do you want Liana?" Aunt Teri sighed.
