I SPENT THAT day looking for an outfit for jenna's new year party tomorrow. i always try to look decent for parties, but knowing i'm single now, it's different.

i know i've been saying how i don't want to date anyone at the moment or how i want to be single, but maybe it wouldn't be bad to dress up to grab some attention.

i just know that jenna, joey, and corey are going to try to be setting me up with milo.

the thing about being a celebrity and getting into relationships is that it can get very complicated and very public.

fans can tend to get very nosey whenever dating rumors start to come out.

when i was dating barry, the two of us weren't very public. yes, he acted in my music video and yes, the two of us would occasionally show up to stuff together.

but we never really posted about each other and we tried to stay out of the public's eye.

it's a lot to get into a relationship as it is, and when you add the public eye to it, it's a lot.

i think that's part of the reason why i don't want to be in a relationship, right now.

it's not the whole 'what if I get cheated on again' that scares me. it's also getting into another public relationship in the public eye.

it's a lot of things to consider. it does help knowing i do have a good support system so if something crazy does happen then i have them.

by the time i was ready for the new years party at jenna's the next day, i walked in to see it was pretty crowded here.

i looked around for my group of friends to see them sitting on the couch in their little area.

when i made it over to them, they all looked extremely happy that i showed up.

"finally, you show up!" joey smiled happily as i made it over to them.

"oh fuck off dude." i joke as i sit down with them. the five of us started talking and drinking on the couch together.

as we sat on the couch and drank, i scanned the people around the party. i was trying to be nonchalant about it.

"if you're looking around for milo, he's not here yet." corey spoke up in my ear. i looked over at him, exhaling a breath.

"i didn't even know he was for sure coming." i tell him. he smiled knowingly and nodded his head.

"he told jenna this morning he would show up." he informed me. i just nodded my head as i leaned back on the couch.

around ten thirty, i got up to get another drink. i pushed through the crowd of people and walked into jenna's kitchen.

as i poured myself a drink, i didn't hear the footsteps come behind me. "chelsea?" i turned around to see the familiar brunette.

i smile lightly when i saw milo take a closer step to me, a smile on his face.

it has been a while since i've seen milo. the two of us have talked here and there but it wasn't much at all.

"milo, hey!" i smile softly as i look at him. he walked over to me and surprisingly wrapped his arms around me in a giant hug.

i stood there for a moment surprised but i quickly gave him a hug as well. as we hugged for a moment, i got a whiff of his cologne.

i will admit that it smells really good. he pulled away as he looked down at me, a big grin on his face.

he leaned over to grab a cup to make himself a drink. "i haven't seen you in a while, how have you been?" he asked me sweetly.

i just shrug as i take a gulp of my drink. "i've been good. really busy but good. what about you?" i asked curiously.

he leaned against the counter, a smile on his face as he brought a drink to his lips.

"same, booked and busy." he smiled as he kept his eyes on me. i think about something for a moment as i continued looking at him.

"yeah, don't you have the second season of school spirits coming out soon?" i asked as he nodded his head.

"yeah, it comes out in a few weeks." he answered me happily. he took a drink of his drink as he looked at me.

"you've seen it right?" he asked hopeful. i grimace slightly as i put the drink to my mouth.

he gasped slightly as he looked over at me, bringing his own drink to his mouth. "wow, chelsea. and to think i was about to start complimenting your new album." he shook his head.

the two of us stand in the kitchen for a while, talking and laughing with each other.

it was nice talking to milo and catching up on everything. as we talked, joey ran in here to tell me it was almost midnight.

she dragged me away from milo, i turned to look at him. 'i'm sorry,' i mouth to him as she drags me away.

he just waves me off and laughs slightly, obviously not upset by anything.

i was both nervous and excited for twenty twenty five.
