Wonderwall

It's been a month since Jade and Tori's escapades began. The two girls had become better friends as a result. Trina was still the only one who knew. Tori thought they would have been caught when Jade left a noticeable hickey on her. Everyone questioned Tori about it at lunch one day.

"Oh uh it's from this guy," Tori told them nervously. She didn't realize she had a visible mark on her. She would yell at Jade about it later. "He's from Northridge." Tori mentally cringed at the thought of hooking up with a guy. She couldn't tell her friends it was a girl though, they didn't know she was a lesbian, and Tori wasn't sure when the right time to tell them she was.

Jade smirked at that. She didn't mean to leave a noticeable hickey but seeing Tori so flustered was worth it. Jade had made a mental plan to do it again. She had joked about it with Tori and Tori immediately shot that idea down. She was not going to go through something embarrassing like that again.

Tori was currently in her room studying, she had a big test the next day and didn't want to fail. Jade was there with her, the two girls now spent most of their time together. The rest of their friend group was happy for them. They had finally stopped hating each other. No one knew the real cause, both girls had claimed it was because Jade realized Tori wasn't terrible. Everyone seemed to buy it and didn't question them any further.

Tori sighed as she tried to figure out another precalculus problem. She hated that class. She had straight A's every year prior to this but this class was ruining that streak. She had a B in the class which wasn't terrible but it wasn't her best either. She wanted to get her grade up by the end of the semester but it was proving to be more difficult than she anticipated. Jade thought Tori looked cute in her stressed state. Tori was wearing her glasses and Jade loved seeing her wear them. She thought Tori looked absolutely adorable in them. Jade secretly wished Tori would wear them more often but she would never admit that.

"Need a distraction Vega?" Jade asked taking pity on the girl. She could Tori was stressed. A month ago she would have laughed at her but now it was different. Jade cared about Tori. It was a weird feeling but strangely, Jade liked it.

"Please?" Tori said sighing. She did a break, this wasn't getting any easier. Studying was just making things even more complicated. Tori regretted not going to the study sessions that the teacher held.

"Care to go for a drive?" Jade asked her. Tori nodded and the two of them headed to Jade's car. Jade plugged her phone into the aux and filled the car with music. After a month Tori realized Jade really liked The Rolling Stones so it was no surprise that Ruby Tuesday by them came on. Tori smiled to herself thinking about the time Jade let Tori pick the music and Tori played One Direction. Jade had decided that was the worst thing she'd ever heard in her life. From that day on Tori was banned from picking the music in Jade's car. Tori didn't mind, she liked Jade's music.

"Where are going?" Tori asked as she watched the city pass by her.

"You'll find out when we get there," Jade said with a smirk. She liked keeping Tori in suspense. Tori pouted but didn't question Jade anymore. Tori figured she'd find out when they got there or she'd find out before they got there if Jade decided to play nice.

After driving for a while the pair ended up at a field. Tori was a tad bit confused about why they were at a field but she didn't question it. She learned to trust Jade. The pair got out of the car and lay in a spot on the field together. They looked up at the nighttime sky and lay in silence just enjoying each other's presence.

"This is where my dad would take my mom, brother, and me on Saturdays before the divorce," Jade said answering Tori's unspoken question with a slight smile on her face. " It was one of my favorite things to do as a kid and I looked forward to coming every week. Now I come here to think or relax."

"Why'd you bring me here?" Tori asked. "Not that I'm okay with it but it seems like this place is special to you."

"Because I can tell you're stressed and you need something to relax," Jade told her.

"Did you ever bring Beck here?" Tori asked.

"No," Jade admitted. It sounded weird to think about but Jade always felt Beck wasn't special enough to come to her sacred place. Tori was different and Jade didn't know if it was a good or a bad thing.

"Why did you guys break up?" Tori asked. Jade tensed. She never did tell Tori why they broke up. She didn't tell Tori she was a lesbian. She just always figured it was an unspoken thing that she was some form of gay since the two girls made out all the time. "Sorry if I overstepped."

"No it's fine, I just never really talked about it," Jade told her. "I broke up with Beck because I realized I'm a lesbian. No one knows except my family, Beck and now you. Please don't tell anyone. I'm not ready to come out."

Tori had never seen Jade so vulnerable. In a weird way, it was nice to see the other girl show her emotions. It showed she wasn't a robot.

"I'm a lesbian too," Tori admitted. She thought it was funny that neither she nor Jade had told the other prior to this. "My parents and Trina are the only ones who know. Well, now you too. I think I'm ready to come out now."

"I'll support you if you decide to," Jade said. "Our friends will too."

Tori smiled. This Jade was a different Jade than the one she met when she first started attending Hollywood Arts. Tori reached out and held Jade's hands. Jade turned over to look at Tori and Tori did the same. They both leaned in and kissed each other. Tori's stomach was doing flips. She'd kissed Jade before but this one was different, this was tender and slow and made Tori giddy. They broke up when they heard Tori's phone ring.

It was Tori's parents demanding that Tori get home now since it was a school night and it was past her curfew. Tori asked Jade to take her home and agreed.

It's All Over by The Rolling Stones filled the car as Jade drove Tori home. It was a silent ride home but in a nice way. Jade was happy with the way the night played out. Tori on the other hand was having an internal freakout. Tori was falling for Jade hard and fast. She was breaking rule number three. She couldn't tell Jade that though.

"Have a goodnight Tori," Jade said after pulling up to the Vega household. Tori got butterflies every time she heard Jade call her by her name and didn't call her Vega. It probably meant nothing to Jade but to Tori, it meant absolutely everything. She figured it was stupid but she still loved it.

"Goodnight Jade," Tori said leaving Jade's car. She watched Jade drive away before going inside.

Tori got off lucky and only got a warning for breaking curfew. Trina complained saying it wasn't fair since she had got grounded for breaking curfew. Her parents reminded Trina that she had broken curfew multiple times and this was Tori's first offense.

Tori made her way up to her room. Trina followed her.

"Are you guys dating now?" Trina questioned. Tori rolled her eyes, it was so Trina to pry and ask questions.

"No it's still no strings attached," Tori informed her. Trina eyed Tori before grabbing a seat on Tori's desk chair.

"But you like her?" Trina asked and Tori blushed. Trina was awfully good at reading Tori. "I see the way you look at her. You broke curfew to hang out with her. You never break curfew."

"Okay fine I like her," Tori admitted. "But I can't tell her. It was one of the rules she set."

"And you're okay with that?" Trina asked her. Tori didn't answer. She wasn't sure if she was okay with it anymore. "You're my little sister and I don't want to see you get hurt."

"I'll be fine Trina," Tori said. "And if in the future I'm not feel free to tell me I told you so."

"If you say so," Trina said getting up and leaving Tori's room. "I'm always here for you."

Tori lay on her bed thinking about what Trina just told her. Tori didn't think Jade would hurt her, not intentionally at least. She knew this whole thing was stupid and no rational person would do this. Tori would be the one to get hurt in the end. She's the one who caught feelings.

Tori sighed and put her headphones in. She played Wonderwall by Oasis. It was a song Jade liked and recommended to her. Tori thought about what she told Jade earlier. She was ready to come out. Tori bit her lip anxiously and she opened her phone to The Slap. She contemplated if she actually wanted to do this. She started typing her post and read it over before nervously hitting the send button.

Hey everyone! I needed to get this off of my chest. I've been scared to accept who I really am. I'm done being afraid. I don't want to live in fear anymore. I can't keep living like this anymore. I, Tori Vega, am a lesbian. I like girls. Thank you for your time.

Feeling: Hopeful

Tori sighed in relief. It was finally out in the open. She didn't have to pretend anymore. She saw that she was getting tons of notifications from The Slap but she couldn't bare to look at any of them right now. She was ignoring any texts that she got as well. She felt bad for ignoring them but she just couldn't deal with it. Trina barged into her room breaking Tori out of her thoughts.]

"Do you knock?" Tori said. She wasn't actually angry. She figured Trina came in to talk about her post.

"Shut up," Trina said. "I saw your post. I'm so proud of you." Tori had a small smile at that.

"Thanks," Tori said. "I'm scared Trina. I wanted to come out but now I'm afraid. I don't want anyone to think of me differently. What if someone doesn't accept me? I can't even read the comments on the post. This was stupid"

"If someone says some shit to you I'll kick their ass," Trina told her. That got a small laugh out of Tori. "Read the comments whenever you're ready. They're all positive. I checked. I'll leave you alone now. I know I said it but I really am proud of you."

"Thanks, Trina," Tori said. "Goodnight."

"Goodnight little sister," Trina said closing Tori's door. Tori pulled out her phone and debated reading the comments. Trina said they were positive comments. She was about to go onto The Slap when she got a text notification from Jade. Tori's heart stopped for a second before opening the text.

Jade: I'm proud of you Vega.

Jade: Have a great rest of your night

Tori smiled. Jade being proud of her just made her feel so warm on the inside. Tori pressed play on Wonderwall again. She wasn't going to read any of the comments tonight. She wanted Jade's text to be the last thing she read before she fell asleep.

Tori thought to herself before falling asleep: Jade was her wonderwall and no one was going to feel the same way about Jade the way Tori does.——————-Follow me on Twitter @ Jorichansaw Chapter name comes from Wonderwall by Oasis
