Chapter Two
05:24, 25 September 2018~Misty POV~
I awoke earlier than I usually do. I groaned and tried to go back to sleep but after 5 minutes I just decided to get up. I took my time getting ready for school. Slowly brushing out my pastel blue hair, I thought that the color fit my name well. After, I did my makeup. I got dressed and quickly cleaned my room. I went down stairs in a hurry for breakfast.
When I turned the corner to the kitchen, my mother was staring intensely at the TV. I started making my plate when I heard the women on the new say:
"Last night, at 5:30 pm, a body was found in Emilia Van's back yard. To an even bigger surprise, it was her 15 year old daughter, Cathy. Cathy was mutilated from head to toe. The images are too graphic to show on public TV. We believe this work was done by the serial killer, who is now at a 20 kill count, who has been very active in Forks is now in our town. Is Seattle in danger?"
I paused what I was doing and looked at my mom. She was still staring intensely at the TV screen.
"This is horrific!!!" My mother yelled and continued to clean the kitchen. I rolled my eyes.
"Linda it's one murder. It's apart of living in a city." My dad said as he came into the room fixing his tie. "Eat," he said looking at me. I nodded and sat down.
"I honestly think it's kinda cool," My brother, Caleb, said as he ate his breakfast. I looked at him with a weird expression. "What?!"
"You're fucking weird." I said, glaring at him. He frowned and continued to eat his breakfast.
"Anyways, Dad's right mom. Don't worry about it." I said to my mother as I ate.
"It's my job to worry, I'm a mother." She replied. I rolled my eyes and scarfed down the rest of my food.
"Whatever. I better get going though." I grabbed my bag and put on my shoes. "I'll see you guys later tonight." I told my parents and brother as I walked out the door.
I loved my family, but sometimes they were just annoying. I really only liked my dad. He is a chill, laid back person, but he doesn't do much with us, family wise. My mother is the opposite. She is a great mom, but a workaholic. She also worries to much, there could be slight breeze outside and she would tell me to put on a parka so i don't get sick. And well my brother? He's annoying. But what can you expect from a thirteen year old boy? He also loves horror. but too much. Don't get me wrong i love horror just like the next guy, but he takes it too far sometimes.
I got in my car and drove to school. When I got there I sat in my car for another thirty minutes since I was realitivly early. Listening to music, I noticed a guy walk by my car. He was new, I've never seen him at our school before. He was wearing an off white hoodie. I saw quickly as he passed my car that he had black medium length hair and dark circles around his eyes. Like he hasn't slept in weeks. That's all I saw since he was walking fast. I forgot about the new kid as fast as I noticed him.
The day went on normally, like it did most days, until I got to sixth period class. Biology. I walked slowly through the door with my head down. Walking to my desk, about to sit down, I saw him. I had completely forgot about his existence after this morning. New kid. He was sitting at my table. He looked over at me and smiled. I slowly sat in my seat, looking away from him. I'm not much of a people person.
"Well you seem friendly," He said, giggling after. What guy giggles? I looked at him and glared. He seemed too cheerful to me. He continued to giggle and speak to me, even though I clearly didn't want to talk.
"Well this is going to be fun~"
