Chapter Three
02:32, 25 September 2018I was confused on what the new kid meant by this is going to be fun. What was going to be fun? Biology class? I pondered what the kid meant for the next ten minutes, until the teacher called my name three times. I came back to reality. It was roll call.
"uh, here!" I said. Multiple people around me giggled. So did the new guy.
I glared mentally at him. That was until I heard the teacher call a new name.
"Jeffrey?"
"It's Jeff." The kid next to me said, the teacher nodded.
So Jeff was his name. I didn't know why I hated him so much. Maybe it was just because he was so giggly but then got quiet so quickly. Maybe it was just because of the feeling he gave off-- Dangerous. I didn't like it, but it was probably just me making things up. It was until he met my gaze and laughed, that I realized I was staring at him the whole time.
As he met my gaze, I could really see his features. He was very pale, almost paper white but there was a soft pink undertone. His eyes were a pale greenish blue, with dark purple black rings around His eyelids. It looked like his eye sockets were sunken in from lack of sleep. His hair, which looked like hay but also oily as the same time, just barely brushed his shoulders. His lips were a pale pink and the corners of his mouth were a darker red shade that was faded into his skin, almost like a lipstick smudge. He noticed me looking at the corners of his mouth and he quickly tuned his head away from my view. The kid seemed annoying, without a doubt, but there was a slight attractiveness to him. That was when the bell rang.
The rest of the day went on smoothly, I had no other classes with Jeff. I didn't even see him walking in the halls for the rest of the day. At 3:00 PM the dismissal bell rang. I hurriedly walked to my car to get out of the student traffic and started my way home. I almost forgot about Jeff by this time. I was about a minute away from my home. I stopped at a red light and waited for it to turn green. This light was one of the longest in town, so I gazed out my window while I waited.
In the distance, I could see a tall person with a white hood and black hair covering there eyes. I kept staring, and the longer I did, a smile on their face got bigger and bigger. From my distance, it looked like the smile was stretching from ear to ear. This is when I heard a million honks come from behind me. The light was green. I quickly stepped on the gas and drove away. As I did, I looked in my side mirror.
The figure was gone.
