Chapter 14 – Rekindled Romances Don't Always Have Happy Endings.

Madison's P.O.V.

I was still running towards the real Doctor, even though I was full blown crying now. I think the other Doctor had given up, as I couldn't hear him running behind me anymore. The real Doctor suddenly started running towards me, as Amy and Rory tried to catch up with him.

I suddenly heard sobbing behind me, as I the other Doctor had obviously started running after me again. I soon realized what I was doing to him. I was treating him the same way that The Doctor treated me when I met River Song. I was so horrible.

I was quite close to the real Doctor, so I quickly skidded to to a halt. The other Doctor behind me, soon caught up and stood by me, and gave me an unreadable look.

“I'm sorry. I shouldn't have done that. I love you, and I made you a promise.” I smiled, giving him a quick hug.

“I love you too. Yeah, you did. But it you want to brake it, it's okay.” He sobbed.

“No, it's not okay. I'm not leaving you.” I replied, as I turned back to see the real Doctor had stopped running and was stood a few meters away from me.

“Madison. It is you isn't it? Please say it is.” The real Doctor asked, looking distraught.

“Yeah, it's me. Hello. It's defiantly you too?”

“Yeah, it's me. Hey. I can't believe it's you. I never thought I'd get to do this again. I missed you.”

“I missed you too. Oh come here.” I replied, pulling him into a large hug.

“I can't get over seeing you again. I missed you so, so much. I never stopped loving you. I promise I didn't!”

“I missed you so much too.” I said, pulling away from him.

“And?”

“And what? Oh... Yeah, I didn't stop loving you either.” I smiled, before a cough broke me out from our thoughts.

“Madison? Why am I stood behind you?” The real Doctor asked.

“Ah, yeah. That I can explain.” I laughed nervously.

“Hello, Doctor. Long time no see.” The other Doctor said, rather bitterly.

“Are you who I think you are? You can't be. He couldn't regenerate. It's not possible.” The real Doctor muttered.

“You remember how I did the kissing thing with you? To help you regenerate? I did that.” I whispered, looking away from the real Doctor.

“You kissed him?” The real Doctor asked.

“Yeah, but only to help him regenerate!”

“Right... Good to see you again, Doctor. Hows life been?” The real Doctor asked.

“Oh y'know. As normal as it can get round here. The last three months have been pretty good though!” The other Doctor laughed, putting an arm around my shoulders.

“It's been three months since we last each other, for you too?” The real Doctor asked.

“Three months, 1 week, and four days.”I mumbled, not being able to face anyone.

“You counted?” The other Doctor asked, moving his arm from round me.

“Yeah... So?”

“Maddy?” A female voice called out.

“Amy! Rory! Hi!” I smiled, looking up to the see the pair stood by the real Doctor.

“Madison! Good to see you again, alive! Bit weird, but glad to know you're fine. You are fine, right?” Rory rambled.

“Rory, I'm fine. It's good to see you too!” I cried, pulling them both into a hug.

“How have you been?” Amy asked.

“I've been good. Living a normal-ish life for just over three months. Was quite a different experience. What about you two?” I replied, as all tension from the two Doctor's left me.

“Yeah, we've been good. Traveling in the TARDIS, been stuck with mopey here though.” Amy laughed.

“What do you mean?”

“The Doctor, he's barely done anything over the past few months. He's just been sat around in the TARDIS, while we got on with our lives. When he found out you were alive through U.N.I.T, he did everything he could to get you back. He truly loves you Madison. We've all missed you a lot. I can't wait for you to come home with us!” Amy explained, pulling me into another hug.

“Yeah, neither can I...” I muttered.

“So, you've been looking after Madison for the past few months then?” I heard the real Doctor ask.

I pulled away from Amy to see the two Doctor's stood face-to-face with one another, looking slightly annoyed by one another's presences. I sense a fight coming on...

“Yeah, I found her when she arrived here at this beach. We formed a team, moved in together and lived a pretty decent life.” The other Doctor replied.

“Oh right. Well thank you for looking after her. I'm sure you did a good job.”

“Oh I did. She helped me a lot. She arrived at a low point in my life and saved me from a lot.” The other Doctor smirked.

“Well, that's my Maddy. Always helping people. Speaking of helping people, hows Rose and the Tylers? Surprised she's not here!” The real Doctor questioned, oblivious to the pain he was causing.

The others Doctor's face dropped in pain, at the memory of Rose and her family. I couldn't stand by and watch it much longer, so I stood in and took in upon myself to tell him the news.

“Doctor... Rose and her family have... they've gone... There was an alien threat which got into their house and they... they didn't make it...” I explained slowly, watching both Doctor's reactions.

“Oh.. I'm sorry. I didn't know. I am truly sorry about her. She was an amazing person and I hope she had a good life with you.” The real Doctor whimpered, looking upset by the news.

“She did. But even after she was gone, I had Madison. She's a good girl and saved me. I don't know what I'd do without her.” The other Doctor smiled, pushing his hand into mine.

I watched as the real Doctor's eyes dropped down to mine and the other's Doctor hands. He studied them carefully, before putting his gaze back to me. I dodged his look, by looking at Amy and Rory. Who were also watching us suspiciously.

“Well, I hate to break it to you, Doctor, but you might have to do without her. The thing is, I've managed to travel over to this Parallel World with intension's of bring Maddy back with me.” The real Doctor said, watching me for a reaction.

“You came all out here just to bring me back? I thought traveling between Parallel Worlds was impossible?” I asked, quite shocked.

“You know I'd break impossible for you, Maddy.... Anyway.. Shall I leave you two alone?” The real Doctor asked, taking a step back.

“What for?”

“So you can say your goodbyes.” The real Doctor stated, as if it was obvious.

“Umm..” I began to say.

“Excuse me? The only person she'll be saying goodbye to, is you.” The other Doctor scoffed.

“And what's that suppose to mean?” The real Doctor asked.

“It's all very well that you've traveled all this way to get Maddy, Doctor, but that doesn't mean you're leaving with her. Over the three months she's been here, we've gotten close. Really close. She's already told me she doesn't want to leave.” The Other Doctor smirked, looking smug.

“Is that so? Maddy, is that true?”

“Of course it's true! I wouldn't lie about love with somebody!” The other Doctor scoffed, pulling me into a side hug.

“IN LOVE?!” The real Doctor yelled.

“You heard.” The other Doctor snapped.

“Madison? Maddy, it he telling the truth? Maddy, please say he isn't. MADISON!” The real Doctor pleaded, looking desperately at me.

“I'm sorry.” I mumbled, moving away from both The Doctor's.

“I tried to tell you.” The other Doctor smirked, in a sing song voice.

“Shut it you. Maddy, I know it's been three months but why? I thought you loved me! I spent ages looking for you. I missed and love you so much!” The real Doctor cried, taking a step towards me.

“And I fell the same! But I was left alone for three months and this was the only connection to you I had! He's you and I love you. Beside you've got River and I thought you'd go back to her, since I died.” I replied, muttering the last part.

“River divorced me. I'm single, Maddy! Ready for you! Please, come home with me. You belong in the TARDIS, with me, Amy and Rory. The two Time Lords and the Pond's traveling the Universe. Please, Madison, I'm begging you. Just say you love me and you'll come back with us.” He begged, taking my hands in his.

“I do love you.” I whispered.

“And I love you! So, are you coming home?” He asked, as tears fell from his eyes.

“I... I...” I stuttered, only to be cut of by the other Doctor.

“Madison, don't. Please, stay here with me. You said you loved me and you promised to stay here in this world with me. You said you wouldn't go back to him! That we could be together! I love you!” The other Doctor proclaimed, grabbing one of my hands from the real Doctor.

“I love you too.” I murmured, looking over to him.

“See, you love me! I gave you a normal life something you said you wanted! We have a good relationship and I can give you everything. Please, Maddy. Stay with me?” He sobbed, clutching my hand harder.

“I'd love too, Doctor...” I began to stay.

“No, Maddy! Come with me! I love you!” The real Doctor interrupted.

“No, I love you more!”

“NO! I LOVE HER MORE! I MET AND FELL FOR HER FIRST!”

“YEAH, WELL I SLEPT WITH HER FIRST!”

“YOU DID WHAT?! AND HOW IS THAT AN ACHIEVEMENT?!”

“IT SHOWS SHE CARES MORE ABOUT ME!”

“STOP IT! BOTH OF YOU JUST FUCKING STOP!” I screamed, extremely angry at them both.

“Madison, I...”“NO, FUCKING SAVE IT! I AM SO ASHAMED OF YOU BOTH! I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU ACT LIKE THIS ABOUT ME! NOBODY HAS EVEN ASKED ME WHAT I WANT, YOU'VE BOTH JUST SHOUTED ABOUT WHAT YOU WANT! YOU COMPLETE TWATS! RIGHT NOW I'D RATHER LIVE ON EARTH WITH AMY AND RORY! YEAH, THAT SOUNDS GOOD ACTUALLY! AT LEAST I CAN TRUST THEM BOTH AND THEY'RE NOT SELFISH BASTARDS!” I snarled, walking away from the two and standing by Amy and Rory.

“Well... I wasn't expecting that.” I heard Rory mutter from next to me.

“Maddy... I'm sorry. I'm so, so sorry.” The real Doctor declared.

“Yeah, I am too. I guess we didn't think.” The other Doctor agreed.

“No, you didn't. I can't believe you both. You're grown men, act like it. I will make my own choice in my own way.” I snapped.

“Right, of course. Go ahead.”

“Good luck.” Amy whispered into my ear, lightly pushing me forward.

“Right, first all the good things. Real Time Lord Doctor. I love you. I met you first. We get to travel the Universe. You're a Time Lord. You're now single. We had an amazing time together. I even loved our stupid fights. I knew how much it hurt you when I died and how happy you seem now to see me. You're like the male version of me.

“And, other part Human part Time Lord Doctor. We get a normal life! It's something I've never really had and I enjoy it! We still get aliens in our life. We've done things which, yeah, maybe we shouldn't have done but I don't regret it. We're living happily together, and yeah we get stroppy with each other, but when we make up it's funny.” I ranted, taking a deep breath at the end.

“Good, that's over. Now, breath. Has that helped you decide?” The real Doctor asked, hoping for an answer.

“I'm not finished, be quiet.” I hissed, placing a finger to his lips.

“Yeah, she's still deciding. Keep...” The other Doctor began to say.

“Yeah, don't suck up to me.” I cautioned, placing a finger to his lips too.

“She has two Doctors keeping quiet. My god she's good!” Rory mused, causing Amy to let out a laugh.

“Amy. Finger to Rory's lips please. He's making noise and I'm busy.” I sighed, rolling my eyes.

“Gladly.” Amy quipped, pressing a finger to Rory's lips.

“Right. Bad points. Part Human and part Time Lord Doctor. You're part human meaning one day you're going to die and I'll be alone and stuck here. I can't travel the Universe with you.

“Time Lord Doctor.... Well... There aren't any bad points.. Sorry? Oh, if I go with you, the other Doctor will be alone here and I promised him I wouldn't leave him.” I continued.

“Helped at all?” The other Doctor asked.

“Yeah, any help?” The real Doctor inquired, as they both looked on expectantly.

“No. I'm sorry.” I sighed, dropping my fingers from their lips.

“What are you going to do?” Amy asked, coming to stand by me.

“I have no idea. I love you both, as you're the same person. Yet you both give somethings better than the other.” I noted.

“Well, I think there is only one way to do this. Maddy, I'm going to count down from three. When I get there, I want to you to say which Doctor you'll go with. Want to do that?” Rory suggested.

“Yeah, why not. Sorry in advance to whoever I don't pick.” I chuckled sheepishly.

“It's fine. Just remember, I love you, no matter what.” The real Doctor smiled, pressing a kiss to my forehead.

“Same as what he said. Love you.” The other Doctor echoed, kissing my forehead too.

“Here goes. In three.... Two..... One... Who do you pick?” Rory asked, as the area went silent and the decision was all on me.

“I pick The....” I began to say.

“EXTERMINATE!”

“AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!” The Doctor screamed, as he fell to the floor in agony.
