Chapter 12 – Soon, We'll Be Together Again.

The Doctor's P.O.V.

“AMY! RORY! WAKE UP! IT'S TIME TO GO!” I yelled, from the console room.

It had just reached 8:25 in Earth time, so it was time we were heading off to U.N.I.T.'s base. I had been setting up the TARDIS all night in hope of being able to find a way of opening a new teleport in the TARDIS. All I needed was a scan of the energy and then I could wire it up to the console and hopefully recreate the teleport in the TARDIS.

“Eurgh. What do you want?” Amy muttered, walking into the room.

“It's 8:25. It's time to go to U.N.I.T.” I replied, pressing buttons on the console.

“Oh right. Look, before Rory gets here, can we talk?” She asked, coming to stand by me.

“Sure. What's up?”

“You know how me and Rory didn't really like you being with Maddy? Because you were with River. Well now that you and River aren't together, I'm on your side. About getting back with Maddy. You were always really happy with her and I don't want you upset again.” Amy smiled.

“Thank you, Amelia. It means a lot.”

“No problem. Just don't get to down hearted if this goes wrong, yeah? I don't want you to go back to the way you were 3 months ago.”

“Thank you, Amy. Hopefully this will all go right, though. Just need Rory to HURRY UP!” I yelled, just as Rory appeared at the top of the steps.

“What is it?” He groaned.

“We're going to U.N.I.T. Wake up, shake a leg!” I laughed, running round the console.

“Oh, we're going now. You still sure we can trust that Rachel woman?” Rory asked.

“She's the only hope I have of finding Maddy. It's a risk I have to take. But you two, any sign of danger and you rush back to the TARDIS as quick as you can, okay? Don't worry about me, just get out of danger. Promise me.”

“Promise.” They both chorused.

“Good. Now keep quiet. We're going into silent mode.” I smiled, flicking a few switches on the console.

I ran around, pulling leavers before we landed on Earth. I checked the scanner to make sure we had arrived in the right room, only to see Captain Rachel sat at her desk in a room. I ruffled a hand through my hair, before bounding over to the doors. I slowly pulled one open and stuck my head outside.

“Psst... Rachel!” I whispered, earning the attention of Rachel.

“Doctor? How are you there?” She asked, looking around shocked.

“It's the TARDIS. I set it to invisible and silent.”

“Oh right. Very clever. Well come on then. Lets get this done.” She smirked, standing up from her desk.

“Very well so. Quick this is done, the quicker we can get out of your hair.” I replied, stepping out the TARDIS.

“Sure thing, Doctor. The energy is just through this door here.” Rachel smiled, pushing open a door to the side.

“Righty oh. Come along, Ponds.”

Me, Amy and Rory followed Captain Rachel, as she opened the door to reveal the room of U.N.I.T.'s latest project. In front of us was a large metal contraption that took up half the room. A buzz of electricity took over the machine, as several equipment desks surrounded it.

“Well then. What have we got here then? Looks like an alien energy type thats been excelled by human electricity, to create a teleport device.” I ranted, running over to the machine.

“Wow, Doctor. You're the first person I haven't had to explain it too.” Rachel muttered, walking over to a keypad on the door.

“What are you doing?” I heard Amy ask her.

“Oh, just setting the security system up. It makes sure we don't get any unexpected visitors.”

“Ah right. Doctor, how long is this going to take?” Amy asked.

“Oh not long at all. Quick scan with the sonic, a few readings and then we're off.” I smiled, turning back to face them.

“Is that all it's going to take, Doctor? I was under the impression you were going to be staying longer.” Rachel said, looking concerned.

“What, nooooooo! Wouldn't want to be in you hair for to long. Besides, the longer we stay, the bigger the risk of U.N.I.T finding us. Because, U.N.I.T don't know we're here and we don't want them knowing. That is right, isn't it? Captain Rachel Minnet.” I stated, walking to be face-to-face to her.

“Of course, Doctor. All inside the plan.” She replied, as her mouth formed a tight lipped smile.

“Good! So lets get cracking then! Rory, could you find me some paper please and Captain Rachel, do you know where this teleport come out in the Parallel World?” I asked, walking back over to the machine.

“Umm, yes actually. I think it's over here.... Ah here it is!” Rachel cried, pulling out a file off a desk. “It says.... Can't be specific but it's in Norway. Possibly a beach.”

“A beach in Norway? Bit familiar.” I muttered.

“Doctor. The paper you wanted.” Rory said, handing over some paper.

I pulled out a pen from my jacket and scribed a quick note onto the paper. I turned round to make sure nobody was watching, before throwing the note at the machine. A white flash surrounded the round, as the machine let off a large buzzing noise.

“What did you do?” Rachel shouted, pulling me away from the machine.

“Nothing. Nothing at all, it just went off. Look, I'll just take a quick scan and then we'll be off.” I rambled, pulling out my Sonic.

“No, Doctor. You did something to that machine, what did you do?” Rachel asked, tugging at my arm.

“Nothing, really nothing. I really, honestly did nothing!” I lied, waving the Sonic Screwdriver over the machine.

“You did, Doctor! TELL ME NOW!” She yelled.

“Nothing, Rachel! Look me, Amy and Rory are done here now anyway. So we'll be off!” I sighed, pulling out from her arm and heading for the door.

“No, Doctor! Don't!”

“What? Or U.N.I.T. will come running through that door?” I replied, turning to face her.

“What?! I don't know what you're talking about!” Rachel scoffed.

“Security system to stop U.N.I.T. getting in! How stupid do you think I am? Oh Captain Rachel Minnet, what an idiot you must be to think you can fool me! I know you set up that keypad to tell U.N.I.T. know when we were here!” I smirked.

“I really have no idea what you are saying, Doctor! Nothing like this is happening!” Rachel stressed, looking at us like we were crazy.

“Really? So I just walk through that door, a load of U.N.I.T. members won't come in and take us all away with guns?”

“No! They will arrive and I will lose my job! You have to trust me, Doctor! Please!” Rachel begged.

“No. You work for U.N.I.T. I don't trust U.N.I.T. We're leaving now. If you'll excuse us.” I smirked, pointing the Sonic Screwdriver at the keypad and disabling the security system.

“What are you doing? Doctor! You can't just leave! Stop it! Stop it, U.N.I.T. have to....” Rachel yelled, before gasping and slapping a hand to her mouth.

“U.N.I.T. have to what? Know we're here? Or do they already know we're here and you just need to let them know we're in the room.”

“Well done, Doctor. You're a smart one.” Rachel hissed, as she pulled a gun from her pocket and pointed it at us.

“I knew we could never trust you.” Amy spat.

“Oh whatever, red head. Just shut it. This was always my plan. I knew you couldn't resist coming back to save your precious little girlfriend, so I planned this all in advance. You may have disabled the security system, but we planned for that too. U.N.I.T know you will turn it off and will be here soon!” Rachel spat, keeping her gun tight in her hand.

“Normal reaction time is two minutes, it's been one. Amy, Rory, remember the promise from earlier. Well it's time to keep it. RUN! I'm right behind you! Promise!” I instructed.

“But Doctor,,,” Rory tried.

“No, Rory! Get yourself and Amy out of here!”

“Rory, lets go!” Amy shouted, as they ran from the room.

“You friends my escape, Doctor, but you won't. Soon U.N.I.T. will arrive and you will be taken and tested on. Hopefully you won't get the same result as your pathetic, wasting air of a girlfriend.” Rachel spat, giving me a sly smile.

“Oh you really shouldn't have said that, Captain. Don't insult my Maddy. Ever. Or point a gun at me and my friends, and threaten us. Because your gun can be disabled quite easily.” I snapped, pointing the Sonic at Rachel's gun.

I quickly zapped it, causing sparks to fly from Rachel's gun, as she chucked it to the ground. I took this as my exit queue, as I quickly fled the room. Just as I ran from the teleport room, U.N.I.T burst through the main door and immediately began shooting at me. I let out a gasp of surprise, as I pushed through the doors of the TARDIS and locked them quickly behind me.

I caught my breath quickly, before standing up and walking over to the console. Amy and Rory stood watching from the stairs, as I pulled the Sonic Screwdriver from my pocket and stuck it in a port on the main console. The screen recognize the energy and began to scan it for further information.

“You okay, Doctor?” Amy asked, coming to stand by me.

“Me? Yeah, I'm fine! TARDIS is just scanning the energy to find out how to open a teleport in this room. Might take a while. But not too long!” I smiled.

1 Week Later...

“Doctor! I'm bored!” Amy yelled, walking into the control room.

We had been waiting for a week now for the TARDIS to finished scanning the energy. Yet, it was still now scanning it with no results. It was getting tiring as we had all been sat around in TARDIS the whole week doing nothing. I had barely slept and hardly eaten any food.

Basically, I was a mess. But all I was waiting for was that beep to let me know it was done. Why was it taking so long?!

“So am I Amy, but I'm waiting for the TARDIS to HURRY UP!” I stressed, kicking the console before regretting it.

“Stop doing that, idiot! Come here! Rory!” Amy yelled, pulling me onto a chair.

“What is it?” Rory asked, as he entered the room.

“Come make sure The Doctor's foots okay.”

“Kick the console in a rage again?”

“Yup.”

“Thought so. Come here then, Doctor.” Rory sighed, as he pulled off my sock and shoe and examined my foot.

“Well?”

“Nothing to bad. You're going to have a lot of bruising on your foot though. Try not to run around to much. Although that's a stupid suggestion to you.” Rory explained.

“Fine, I'll do whatever. Just do me favor, go to console and press the red button, then pull the zig-zag plotters. Then and only then, pull that massive lever.” I instructed.

“Sure thing. Why though?” Amy asked, as she moved the console.

“You're bored, I'm bored. The TARDIS doesn't look like it's going to be done in a while, might as well go to Earth for a bit and explore. You can do shopping or whatever it is you do.” I smiled, pulling myself to my feet.

“What about you?” Rory asked, as the TARDIS hit the ground of Earth.

“Me? I'll just wonder around, meet people and defiantly not look for trouble!” I exclaimed, as I walked to the doors.

“Doctor! You've only got one shoe on!”

“Oh well! You know what the kids says, YOLO! Wait.... that doesn't apply to me. Umm... YOLO unless you're a Time Lord..or a cat, or Jesus, or Captain Jack.. haven't seen him in while. Could go see him..”

“Doctor!” Amy yelled, snapping me out from my rambling.

“What, sorry. Where'd you both go?” I asked, spinning in circles.

“We're outside. We walked past during your rant. Come on, we're going!” Rory answered, as I walked outside.

“Yes alright, Pond. Lets go. Nothing exciting or important is going to happen now is it!” I sighed, walking away from the TARDIS.

Beep.

“What was that?” I asked, spinning to face the couple.

“What was what?”

“Nothing. Just thought I heard something.” I muttered, shaking my head.

Beep.

“Okay, I defiantly heard that one.” Rory stated, pointing at me.

“So did I. I wonder if... No....”

Beep.

“That's the signal.” I breathed.

“What signal? Doctor!” Amy yelled, as I sprinted off back into the TARDIS.

“The signal, Amy! The TARDIS has done it! It's figured out the teleport energy! We can go find Maddy! Soon, we'll together again!” I cheered, running up to the console.

I checked the screen to see the energy had been recognized and was going to be recreate. I typed in the codes given on the screen into the keyboard, and flicked all the switches needed.

“Doctor! Wait for us!” Amy yelled, as her and Rory leapt into the TARDIS.

“What? I wasn't leaving without you both!” I laughed, as I carried on with the instructions.

“What are you saying? The TARDIS started taking off, we only just, made it inside.”

“What?” I yelled, before running to the doors.

I flung them open to see we were floating around in mid space. All looked normal, until a storm like could began to form in front of me. A large crack of lighting sent me flying backwards into the TARDIS, as a white light shone out in front of me.

“DOCTOR! Are you okay?” Amy yelled, running to my side.

“AMY! It's working! It's actually working!” I laughed, as I scrambled to my feet.

“What is it? What's happening?”

“The teleport! The TARDIS has manage to recreate the teleport to Madison! We can go to her, Amy! I can get Maddy back! Wooo!” I cheered, walking towards the teleport.

“Woah. What are you doing?” Rory asked.

“What does it look like? We've got to go through the teleport, meaning we're going to have to jump. Come on, Ponds. Live a little!”

“You're joking? Please say you're joking. Amy, he's not joking!” Rory yelled, in panic.

“Oh Rory, do what he says! Live a little!” Amy laughed, coming to stand by me.

“Oh god... We're going to jump. This was not in the job description... Oh god.” Rory mumbled.

“Right, ready? Geronimo!” I yelled, as we all ran and jumped into the teleport.

“Ow.”

I slowly opened my eyes to see we have traveled. It worked! I can't believe it actually work! Now to find Maddy....

“Doctor?”

“Amy! Rory! You both okay?” I asked, sitting up on the ground.

“We're fine. What happened?”

“We jumped through the teleport and it worked! We're in the Parallel Universe! Wow, U.N.I.T. was right about that energy it does heal you.” I muttered.

“What do you mean?”

“My foot. There's not bruising anymore. Must've worked.”

“Oh right. Where are we?” Amy asked, looking around the beach.

“Dårlig Ulv Stranden. Or, Bad Wolf Bay, in Norway. Been a while since I've been here.” I explained, looking around too.

“You're been here before?” She questioned, raising an eyebrow at me.

“Doctor...”

“Yeah, a long time ago. I looked different then, a lot different. Had to say goodbye to a friend. A very good friend.” I sighed, remembering the time.

“Doctor....”

“Oh right. What do we do now then?”

“Not sure. Might have to...” I began to say.

“Doctor!”

“What, Rory?” I snapped, turning to face him.

“Look! Over there!” He replied, pointing own the beach.

“Oh look! People. Two of them. Maybe they can help us..... Wait, they're running at us. Why are they doing that? The girl is running full pelt at us! She looks like she's crying? Oh wait. I think somebody got my note.” I rambled, as realization hit me.

“Note? Doctor, who got what note?” Amy asked.

“DOCTOR!” The girl screamed, as she got closer.

“Maddy did..” I whispered, as a tear fell down my cheek.
