Chapter 8: Day Three

"Sensei, your car got wrecked at the worst time ever..." Sengoku sighed.

"Can you not see I'm trying to fix this?" She said with a menacing aura, taking her face out of the engine whose hood was being held by Sengoku and me.

"I-I mean...it's a bad car I think" Sengoku made a little little mistake.

"Bad car huh...Tanij, you can leave the bonnet" she instructed me and I obeyed. I mean why not? getting released off a duty standing in this heat.

"U-Uhm sensei?" he asked gulping down.

"You'll hold it alone now! you three can go rest inside" she said to us three who were looking at the drama unfold sweatdropping.

"I'll stay here with Sengoku" Remi added.

If you keep her hanging like this, she'll loose interest in you

"Hey Kono-san can you come with me for a second?" I asked.

"Sure, but where we going?" she asked.

"That's a secret"

[Time Skip]

"Geez where are we going Tanji-kun?" Kono-san asked as we were trekking back up on the mountain we were on yesterday. 

"I saw a sightseeing sign yesterday, thought we could go see it together" I replied.

"I-I mean i'd be happy to se-see it with yo-you but shouldn't we call others with us aswell?" she asked.

"You think sensei is gonna allow them to come?" I chuckled.

"Yeah...that's something I don't see happening" she chuckled with me.

She caught up to me after stairs as we both took a second to compose ourselves and catch our breaths. 

"You okay?" I asked looking at her deep breathing.

"Ye-yeah" she replied in between of her breaths.

"Alright, then let's go?" I asked smiling.

"Sur-" she began saying as she stood up straight fast but due to the sudden jerk her body leaned a bit back as she started falling towards her back DOWN THE STAIRS!?

I in an instinct grabbed her hand which swayed up in air and literally pulled her towards me with all my force I could gather to prevent her from falling.

"Ah" she groaned in pain probably from my hard grip but I had no other choice.

The force of my pull was so much so that I unintentionally got her in a hug...embarrassment is much better than, god forbid death that could've occurred if she fell down those stairs.

"T-Tanji-kun" Kono-san said with her body pushed up against mine, but for some reason...her hands instead of making forcing her away from me, instead went around me...trembling?

"Kono-san?" I asked.

"S-sorry, but c-can you give me a se-second?" she asked burying herself on my chest.

She's scared about that fall...

"Kono-san, I'm here with you, you wouldn't have fallen down. I got your back, Always okay?" I replied calmly as I caressed back of her head.

"Mhm" she nodded.

We stood like that for at least 5 minutes, I suppose as after that she got her confidence back a bit as she slowly backed up from the hug.

"Are you fine now, do you wanna continue or should we go back?" I gently asked her.

"I-I'm fine" she replied.

"Alright then, let's continue," I said as I took a foot forward, but there was a certain warmth on my wrist that forbidden my movement.

I looked back and saw a red as apple Kono-san holding it looking straight at me, "C-can we w-w-walk like this? p-please?" she asked squeezing my hand a bit.

I felt my face heat up from her request but, "S-Sure" I replied with a nod. 

[Time Skip]

We both walked halfway quiet and embarrassed before I was fed up with this embarrassment and awkward silence breaking up with some jokes which at least helped to uplift her mood a little.

As we got finally towards an open area as the edges were surrounded with fences preventing people to fall down the cliff. Walking a bit more revealed a rather majestic sight to us.

"Wow..." she spoke.

"Yeah, now I know why it had a separate signboard for this view" I smiled.

"How did you find this place?" she asked.

"Yesterday, I saw the signboard. Thought we could visit here later on together but.." I added.

"But?" she asked.

"I don't know when will we get a chance to come back here, also there's something I wanted to tell you" I started to gather my courage.

She gulped down as she kept looking at me, "W-what is it?" 

"Actually I don't want a response from you if you don't feel like answering, I know I'm not the one you want but...I" I let out a few words my brain could form which was getting harder by every passing moment.

"Tanji-kun..." she spoke softly.

"I love you," I finally confessed my feelings, as her eyes widened up.

Heart rate rising and my ears just feeling warm, "Kono-san...I'm sorry for just forcing this on you from out of nowhere but I just wanted to get this off my chest, as I said you don't need to reply to this, I just wanted to let you know that I-" I started speaking that was beyond my control before she cut me off.

"Tanji-kun, I just want to ask you one question" she asked with determination as I could make out a tear or two forms in her eyes.

"Ye-yeah?" I asked as my heart was on the verge to stop depending on her question.

"A-are you fine with me? I-I mean, not so long ago I-I was thinking I was in love with someone else...but that made me realize...Never mind that, are you okay with that fact? You don't find me weird right?" she asked and as her sentence continued so did the tears from her eyes.

"As much as it pained back then...then when you cried, I...felt like I lost. I've been in love with you for the past year...and I don't wanna lose you when school ends. Kono-san, I like you the way you are, you're not weird or anything to me" I composed myself and replied...I still think my sentence doesn't make any sense but...

"I...I love you too Tanji-kun...there's a lot I've been meaning to say to you aswell but...I never got the courage to say it" Kono-san said as a warm smile appeared on her face.

"Can I...call us a co-couple now...God this is embarrassing to say" I managed to ask.

"I'd...I'd like that" she replied still smiling but instead moving closer to me.

"I never knew confessing will be so hard and embarrassing" I chuckled to break off tension.

"I know right" She smiled getting even closer.

[Time skip]

"You two look awfully red and happy, am I missing something?" Remi pointed it out as the car strolled on the highway. 

The back seat order was me, Kono-san, and Remi both me and Remi on the window side but these two pairs of eyeballs were looking at both of us, I swear if Sengoku told Remi about yesterday...I'm gonna kill this faggot.

"Uh...how do i s-say this..." Kono-san started.

I felt my phone buzz and I quick to check the messages saw a new text from Sengoku.

Did you confess?YesSo, did she accept?YesYou owe one to usHELLO? HOW?

I looked over at him sitting next to sensei again as he looked at me with a smug face.

"It's just that we're-" I began saying before sensei cut us off.

"We're here, you'll get your marks tomorrow. Just remind me once tomorrow okay? thanks to us winning, I'll increase the budget of the student council for this year for whatever events you guys wanna host" Sensei said as we grabbed our bags and exited the car.

"Increased budget?" Remi asked with sparkling eyes.

"Consider it a small gift from me for winning that event" she smiled.

"Thanks a lot sensei" Kono-san replied.

"Alright, see ya guys tomorrow. Bye" Sensei added as the car went away.

"Thank you sensei" we replied in unison.

"So now, please continue" this older couple both asked in a teasing way.

"So ah...Kono-san and I are now a c-couple" I replied to them as I felt embarrassment creep up on my face. 

"FINALLY" Remi cheered.

"I'm happy to see you two finally getting together" Sengoku smiled aswell. 

While we were busy getting teased by the two, our phones started ringing one by one as we started getting calls from our family because due to traffic we were already late than the time we've originally told them to be back home.

Picking the calls up only made us confirm the combined Idea that it's time to go home for today. Deeming the teasing enough for today Remi and Sengoku finally let us go as me and Kono-san started walking back towards our house.

"They show no mercy when it comes to teasing" Kono-san sighed.

"I second that" I smiled.

"Hey Tanji-kun, can we walk back to-together to and from school from now?" she asked blushing furiously.

"Don't we already do that? haha, I guess I'll pick you up from your house every day, sure!" I replied.

"That's true..." she replied.

There was an awkward silence for a few more minutes as we just kept getting closer to our neighborhood. Our shoulders occasionally touching as we instantly create a slight distance between us every time it happens...WHY AM I SO NERVOUS???????

Ok...Can I try this?

My hand swaying freely near hers, I tried to hold her hand as I gently wrap my fingers around her hand, very gently.

I was expecting her to slap my hand down in embarrassment but instead, her fingers returned the embrace making our fingers intervene.

YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

I looked at her, who was surprisingly already looking at me with a warm smile, "It seems, I don't have to hold back" she said.

"Let's be open to each other, being so nervous is making it awkward" I replied chuckling.

Hopefully, now I can write some fluffy chapters. Sorry if I got the characters in a relationship fast but as I've said the character is already an old friend, it's useless to create more chapters to strengthen the relationship.
