Chapter 9: Little by little

I was walking towards Kono-san's house, Nervous as fuck. Like bro, I've been here before and I wasn't this nervous that I am today. I swear to god after I dropped her home, I went home and while bathing I almost squealed looking at my hand cause of how happy I was.

Huh...with my final sigh, I turned towards her block as I began walking towards her home, Okay Koichi, man up. No need to be nervous, Alright?

"G-good morning Ta-tanji-kun" Kouno-san said with a slight blush on her either cheek. Looking at me with a smile.

"Morning Kono-san good" I fucked it up.

"Huh?" she asked.

"Ah-I mean, Morning, Kono-san" I smiled.

"Then, shall we?" she said pointing towards the road indicating to walk on. Normal request, yes. But something abnormal here is a sweatdrop on her face and a face peeking out of her house's front door.

"Uh-sure. Uhm, who's at your house's front door-" I began saying.

"Uh-ignore her!!! let's go" she said pulling me with all her force on the road ahead.

It was feeling like a normal day in the student council room with just one exception. Remi and Sengoku eyeing us two like crazy.

"What is it Remi?" Kono-san finally asked out of her annoyance.

"~Nothing" she smirked.

I, on the other hand, finished my work for the day. I looked over at Kouno-san who was setting the papers aside aswell. Assuming she's finished her part aswell.

"Oh, Tanji. Can you go take a look at the garden before you go home?" Sengoku said.

"Uhm? why?" I asked about this unordinary request.

"Some underclassmen have complained that the garden got ruined by a football, I didn't personally check it out, so before I add that to school's expense...I want to confirm if the rumors are true" he said.

"Uhm, sure," I said keeping the papers aside and picking my bag up.

"I-I'll join you" Kouno-san said picking her bag up aswell.

"Su-sure" I nodded as I walked towards the door and waited for her to join me, which she almost in an instant did.

"Don't forget to kiss!!" Remi teased us from behind.

I felt my face heating up as I looked at Kouno-san who looked at me as if she's gonna explode. 

We shut the door really fast in embarrasment, as we both sighed. "Those two, are taking their sweet time to tease us for sure" I joked.

"Yeah...Remi has been messaging me since last night, asking each and every detail" Kono-san replied.

"Details of what?" I asked out of my curiosity.

"You know about our co-confession" she blushed a bit.

"Oh, I see" I felt my face heating up aswell remembering that moment.

Our hands swaying freely, my brain with the confidence from yesterday wanted to try something. 

I again went for her hand, as I gently enwrapped it to which she gracefully returned the embrace of our fingers.

I turned to look at her to which she had already beat me to it as she was looking directly at me with a smile.

"I feel a bit embarrassed doing this at school but...I can't hold myself back" I said.

"Ye-yeah I get what you mean"

As we made our way towards the small garden that our school had, from the distance they looked okay? but the illusion was broken off as soon as we got anywhere remotely close to it.

"Oh my, look at these poor flowers" Kouno-san said crouching down as she gently touched the dead flowers on the craddeled soil. It was quite evident that it happened cause of a foreign object such as our reported lovely football.

"I think we should get the school to add a fence here" I added.

"Yeah. I can't see these Lillies in such a bad state. It kinds off make me sad, you know" She sighed as she started getting up.

"WATCH OUT" I heard a voice.

I turned around to see a ball flying towards my left, spinning endlessly in the free air, directly in line with Kouno-san. Quick to act, I placed myself in line with the ball with my hands positioned in a way to minimize the impact. 

The force at which the ball hit me set me a bit back, but luckily neither me or Kouno-san was hurt, as I threw the ball on the ground kicking it back towards the students playing with it.

"Thank you!" one of the students said receiving the ball.

"Yeah, that's what happened to these plants" I said turning around.

On the other hand Kouno-san was looking at me with a warm smile and a blush, "Uhm, Kouno-san?" I asked.

"Th-thank you Tanji-kun" she said gently.

"Oh uh...no problem, let's go home?" I said chuckling lightly.

"Mhm" she nodded.

[Time Skip]

On our way back, we decided to get ice creams cones to cool off in this hot summer, I swear in summer nothing is better than ice cream. We decided to stop in a small park and found two empty swings.

Swinging really slowly with our legs eating our ice creams, as the sound of the swings bound by the metal chains crackling.

"He-hey Tanji-kun, I uh...wanted to ask something" she started.

"Go ahead" I said.

"Can we call each other with our fi-first names?" she said looking directly at me with a serious expression but...a red face? that's a first.

Her request though, was something I wanted to do since a long time ago ever since Remi started calling her Sakura but...I was just too shy to ask for it.

"Ye-yeah it only makes sense" I replied trying to chill the atmosphere down, "Okay...Sa...Sakura" I started.

"Mhm..koi-koichi" she said gupling down.

"Oneesan-Onichan you are dripping all your ice cream in our play ground" We both heard a voice as we both paid attention to it.

A kid was just smirking looking at us and pointing at our ice creams which as this point was....let's say we only had stick left in our hands, the ice cream was on the dirt below.

"Oh, We're sorry. Haha, we didn't pay attention to it" Sakura chuckled as I joined her in the chuckle. We were too busy sorting our stuff out we forgot about the ice-cream.

We exited the park to avoid getting scolded by their moms, I tried to bury our ice-creams beneath by kicking some soil on it, which was enough to hide it for now.

"Hey Sakura-san...uhm can we you know...uhm go on a d-date tomorrow? if you don't have plans for tomorrow" I said as we both were walking back and seeing that we were almost near our neighbourhood. I managed enough courage to ask her out.

"S-sure...I'm free after 10am anyways. I have to help my mom with some stuff before that" she nodded smiling.

[Time Skip]

"Huuh, so you're going on a date tomorrow" I heard my big sister's voice from the door of my room as I was idiot enough to leave my phone unlocked while I went for a small washroom break.

"And how many times, have you checked my phone now?" I asked with a gist of annoyance.

"Oh my, you never told me about her too. I would love to meet her one day, looking at her profile photo from here. She looks like a cutie" she winked.

"GET OUT OF MY ROOOOOOM!!" I exclaimed as she chuckled shutting the door.

Oh...I should change Sakura's name in my contacts.

Name: Kouno....edit this to, Sakura.

Relationship: Friends....I tapped on this drop down as "Acquaintance, Friends, Boy/girlfriend, Spouse, Mother, Father...." options appeared.

I felt embarrased selecting Boy/girlfriend, but I did it anyways. I'm gonna stop being this shy now...All these things I planned to explore with her. We're gonna do it now! 

It's just that I can't believe that we're a couple...yeah that's why i'm a bit shy. Clearly not her cute voice or composed demeanour or her super gentle voice....

I'm pretty sure that Blake guy I met on the trip would call me a simp, but man you should understand that...I only simp for the one I love. 

Okay. Tomorrow. I'll finally go on my first date, if the author is generous enough to write me a chapter, seeing how long it took him to update this fic. I almost thought, my story stopped just on the confession.

Hopefully, he'll be getting some time and motivation to write his fics now...In his BonzYverse? haha.
