Attack on Titan: An Expedition gone wrong

We were on an expedition outside the walls at the time. We've been out here for many hours. I honestly lost count.

But all I really want is for the commander, wherever he is, to fire the yellow or red signal flare so we could retreat back home.

I was in a squad with Armin and Eren. The rest of our squads members was either squashed or eaten alive by the Titans. This expedition was hell. All I want is to go home. And I want Armin and Eren to be safe.

We three were on separate horseback, speeding through the plains. No Titans were in sight, thankfully.

I don't know what I would do if we saw one. Most Titans upon spotting Humans will charge towards their direction with the intent to devour them without any remorse.

“E-Eren... wouldn't it be a smart idea if we head into the forest? It would be bad if any kind if Titan were to  spot us out in the open.” I tell him.

Eren could sense the fear and worry in my tone and he responds….

“Kiyomi, it's going to be alright, don't worry! Weir going to get out of this alive! I'm not going to lead you guys to your deaths, you hear?”

But has not his rash actions originally killed the other members in our squad earlier?

“Eren...I agree with Kiyomi. Not only will we be less noticeable in the forest, but with all the big trees around we could use them for maneuvering if something were to--”

Armin was cut off by Eren's raising tone.

“I SAID that nothing's going to happen to you both, so shut up!! In case you have forgotten I have Titan powers! If necessary I'll use them if I have to.”

“But Eren, Captain Levi gave specific orders that you are to only use them if your life is in dang--”

“Fuck it. I couldn't give a damn about that. Levi says to choose the choice I will regret least. And that's what I'm going to do.”

With that being said, both me and Armin stayed silent, silencing our thoughts.

Even if Eren can transform into a Titan, this is a bad idea. What if several abnormal come charging all at once? Unpredictable things can happen. But I hope that Eren's rashness and stubbornness doesn't get us killed. He needs to listen to others more….

                   * * *

A lot more time has passed. We were still in the plains, but I heard something earthquaking like gigantic footsteps making their way ever closer….

“I-I think I hear something.” I warn the boys.

“E-Eren, I think we should--” Armin was once again, interrupted by Eren who was now raising his tone screaming at us.

“I SAID SHUT UP AND PUT YOUR FAITH IN ME!!!!”

Both me and Armin shuts our mouths, finding ourselves unable to say anything more. But burning hot anger was slowly overwhelming my body.

If all Eren is going to do is  tell us to shut up without even hearing us out, ignore our advise, it's going to be the death of us. And I especially don't way Armin dieing most of all.

But the steps were coming closer….closer told the point, it sounded as if the quaking of steps were right behind us. And they were.

Armin looks over his shoulders and immediately screams.

“I-Its the Female Titan!!” Squealed Armin.

“Keep charging ahead! Don't look back!!” Eren orders us.

“But...it's gaining on us!” I warn him.

“I don't care, believe in me! I've been through the exact same thing! Just keep doing as I say!”

How am I supposed to even believe in you when it's because of your foolish mistakes, the rest of our squad was killed?

“Eren, for once in your life, just listen to us for once!!” But what I didn't know was that these would be my final words to my friend.

The Female Titan managed to catch up with me and my steed and she kicked me right off. The force of her massive kick was enough for me to explode into a bloody mess. It was like squashing a bug.

“K-KIYOMI, NO!!!" Armin screams.

Armin grabs his head and immediately starts screaming in tears in a hysterical manner.

His screaming frightens his horse, and it rises up to its feet and neighs.

Armin falls right off and his horse takes off without Armin, fleeing the scene.

Eren notice and screams for Armin. He was about to turn around to save his closest friend.

Armin knelt in the grass crying uncontrollably before gazing up at Eren one last time, tears streaming down from his ocean eyes.

With that, the Female Titan smashes Armin like an insect, with her humongous foot.

Eren screams as he bites down on his hand to transform into a Titan, to take on the murderous monster who just killed his friends.

Upon transforming, Eren let's put a Titan cry of pure rage, before attempting to tear apart his foe.

The two battles violently for a long period of time. It was a close fight. But at one point, the Female Titan managed to slice off the Titan head of Eren's Attack Titan.

Eren could be see bound inside the nape of the neck, which was now exposed.

Eren forces up, trying to get out of the messy nape but before the Female Titan could take a bite at him to swallow him whole, Mikasa Ackerman flies out of nowhere and cuts Eren out of the nape swiftly, and grabs him.

She flies into the nearby forest while carrying Eren.

“Eren, are you ok?!” Mikasa begs for Eren to answer.

“It's my fault...I got my entire squad killed. Kiyomi and Armin…. because of me, they're both dead. Because I'm stubborn…. because I never listen to anyone but myself. It's wasn't the Female Titan who killed them...it was me. I was the one who sent them to their deaths.”

Eren immediately begins sobbing hard. He could never atone for their deaths. They died because if him. It was all his fault. If only he listened to them...if only he didn't ignore their advice, perhaps they'd lived.

I apologize to any of the readers if this story was depressing for any of you to read. It was at least, depressing for me to write. I felt like making a story where Eren relizes the fact that he needs to listen to others more instead of always acting rashly on his own. And don't worry, this isn't Kiyomi's cannon death. This was just a random oneshot I decided to make. So if this story broke anyone else's hearts...I'm sorry.

Poor Armin in the end though... :'(
