Chapter 27: A shade of purple

Akali's POV

~time to roll the dice, you know I'm the type. Type to risk my life, not afraid to die~

~Type to make you cry, type to put a price, all up in your head, do just what I said~

"I'm a straight up villaaaainnn!~"

It's been two days since I left Konoha and right now, I'm still running towards Kirigakure. I'm current the outskirts of a town named Keishi, and I'm thinking of taking a boat from here. I'm not exactly sure how I could approach Udon no Kuni just yet and well, compared to my promise, I'm still weak. My name is still unknown to the world.

"Why don't you take a break kid?"

''Sure."

I said and gradually slowed my pace, until I completely stopped in a clearing. I sat down and immediately pulled out my character status. Maybe now I can finally talk numbers and stats after so long that I've mismanaged the system.

The black cloak was secured around me, it's color as if a star-less night. It was pretty big, but not big enough to hinder me from moving freely. In fact, I've never felt so agile. Inside the cloak was the rest of the kit which also has the same effects as the cloak, but the buffs doesn't stack so too bad.

"I should probably remove my headband. I'll just travel with my eyes closed."

I said to myself as I removed the slightly uncomfortable fabric from ny eyes. I kept them close as I sat back again and looked at the rest of the uneread mail.

"So much has updated huh.......what's with the percentages tho?"

[Instead of putting how much damage cost in each skill, game master has updated to how much percentage of the enemy's hp can you deal.

For example, Sen-ri no Chikara deals +10% true damage, and your enemy has 500 health, it means you will be taking 10% less of his health, and will prevent him from self healing, penetrate his defenses and well yeah.]

Suiton: Mizurappa(Also Water style: Wild Water Wave)

The user spews water from their mouth in a waterfall-like fashion to wash away the target. One can freely control the power of this technique by the amount of chakra kneaded and then released. While considered to be a basic Water Release technique, it has many variations.

Suiton: Chichi-sen San Salvador (Father ship San Salvador)

The San Salvador is a warship, fortress and line of defense all rolled into one. Upon casting, it deals AoE and splash damage. Riding with allies gives them a +50 stat advantage and hinders the enemies on board.

Bijudama (Tailed Beast Ball)

Is the ultimate technique of a tailed beast, Jinchuuriki can also use it while transformed. In Miss Detective's case, she was given the permission to wield her chakra like how a tailed beast should.

Siren's Call

The ability to wield one's voice with chakra so that it may do the wishes of the user.

"Hm......I guess I don't have that much jutsus huh....."

"Indeed. The only powerhouse that carried you throughout is true damage. What is that again?"

[There are different types of damage, but true damage is the most powerful of all, as it can not be reduced. If your character deals 500 true damage, it will take 500 hp from it's target, no matter what. Even damage reducing skills won't affect true damage.

When dealing with true damage, players often build more life steal items, as the true damage amount will be less significant if players have more hp.

All in all, even if Miss Detective is hindered with stun, slow, root, extra damage or faster attack speed, as long as she deals true damage, she can vanquish her enemies.]

"Hohooo. THAT is what makes you so op. The only biggest set back on true damage is that it can only be dealt with taijutsu. What else??"

[A barrier effect can also hinder true damage's effects and if it's also countered by itself.]

"See? Still op. Just keep it's weaknesses hidden and no one will ever defeat you."

"Heh. It's not my fault they don't read the patch notes. Speaking of true damage, I need to have higher hp. System, how can I have higher hp?"

[By heightening STR and VIT.]

"I see. True damage counters true damage right? I'm not taking any chances. I need to buff up and add more hp if I want to battle something that can counter.....me."

I said seriously and swiped through multiple tabs. I have enough points, but still not strong enough to protect me from an Akatsuki member. I need to update all STR, VIT and DEX all together.

"Wait, I just remembered something..."

"What is it??"

"INT increases magic power right? Is it the same for cp??"

"Wait- you- you just knew that?! That's the reason why you have superior chakra from the start- it's because you were born smart! Literally!!"

I sighed and combed my hair with my fingers.

"I'm not a gamer. I didn't know that until now."

"Damn. Just be thankful you haven't used that save points of yours on fights."

"Meaning?"

"Meaning you haven't found your match. Just be careful and assess your situation tighter than you ever did. Remember, you are outside Konoha now. These forests aren't sunshine and rainbows."

"I know that."

I puffed my cheecks and blew a heavy sigh. I need another game changer huh. Against the Akatsuki, I need atleast an absolute escape technique that can't be noticed by anyone, and I mean anyone. Not even Itachi.

"You're dreaming."

"I know. But I need to achieve this 'dream' if I want to live. Come on, let's keep moving. I want to know who Asuga Yuki really is."

I said and finally stood up, dusting my cloak and running towards my destination as a black blur.

"What memory are you watching today?"

"The one where you met me."

"Aww~ so romantic!"

"Nah. Have you seen your empty threat there? Hah! You think you can drown a god, with your bad memories?!"

"Wanna try?"

"Absolutely not. Now shut up and let me watch this cringe."

Akali's POV

Finally, I'm back. Back to Kirigakure where the mist grew thick every where the light touched.

Still with my eyes closed, I walked out of the ship. I felt eyes follow my figure. I wouldn't blame them. I looked too suspicious and covered so they became wary.

For the past few days, I rode a ship. I don't want to waste my time, but I don't want to waste energy more so I took the quickest way I could find.

[Hey Miela. Still traveling?]

"I arrived. I'll let you guys know if I found any possible allies here."

[Okay. Be careful. I'm ending the call, I need to talk to Junko in private.]

"Sure. Bye."

I said and ended the call. I'm not quite sure, but before I left, Konoha gave me a global traveler's pass. I'm not sure if Kiri will accept this but I better try. I then transformed into what I looked like in my past life. As forgettable as I could possibly be and with a kind smile, I entered Kirigakure, along with a bunch of either travelers or businessmen.

"Their economy only rated 2/5. I'm guessing Mei Terumi is working hard for her to accept such a large deal of traders."

"Correct. I'm no fan of Kirigakure. It looks boring."

"But don't you smell that? Kiri reeks of blood."

"FADED blood. Ever since that little Mizukage left, the scent of blood decreased. It's honestly boring."

"You can't blame them. I'm sure they just wanted a quiet life."

I kept the smile even though my cheeks are sore. I don't want to give any suspicion. I just don't want to be found out.

"I need info just about know. Do I find a player first, or do I ask about Asuga Yuki's whereabouts?"

"Yuki first. Just leave the player to chance."

I nodded and looked at the streets. Kirigakure is a dark place, perfect origin place for serial killers and psychopaths but I can see that they're trying to make a different vibe.

"A-ano....sumimasen. Do you know someone named Asuga Yuki?"

I asked the nearest Kiri shinobi I saw, it looked like he was still chunnin? I can probably beat him.

"Hm. Who are you and what business do you have with her?"

I sighed at the obvious hostility from the kiri nin. He looked like he was about to kill me as soon as he turned around and looked at me straight in the eyes.

"Oof. It's Daiki."

I chuckled and put my hood back on. My actions certainly seemed suspicious to him so underneath my clothing, I undid the transformation.

"It's me."

I said with closed eyes. He seemed to calm down from his super tensed state.

"You scared me a little. What brings you to Kiri?"

"Quest. Pretty big rewards."

"I see. You said you were looking for Asuga Yuki huh?"

"Yep. She's somehow a clue to my quest. Help me will you?"

"Sure. But let's talk somewhere private. Follow me."

He said and ran off. I quickly followed, but not to close seeing as his hair was so long that it flapped to my face.

"He's prettier than you."

"Right? Too bad he's not in his traditional outfit. He's got no horns too. How odd."

"And here I was expecting a more aggravated answer. Why do I even try?"

I chuckled and shook my head playfully. This seemed to get Daiki's attention as he looked at me with a questioning demeanor.

"My God. He's talking to me."

"You seem really close to your God huh?"

"He's annoying but pretty fun to be with so there's no problem. How about you? Made friends with your God yet?"

"I wouldn't call it being friends. He's been silent the whole time. I only saw his face for a couple of seconds and that's it."

"I see. Maybe he's shy."

"Who IS his God anyways??"

"Who's your God by the way?"

"Thanatos."

"I see. Very like you. Quiet and reserved."

He frowned and I chuckled as we stopped in front of a dojo like place. It was circular in shape, but there was no denying that it was one of the biggest buildings other than the kage's office.

"Your home?"

"Yes. Nao should be inside."

He muttered and took off his ninja sandals. I also took off mine and placed it beside his as we entered.

"Fishy!!!!"

Shouted someone before suddenly glomping at me, suffocating me between soft.....soft.....

Smoke protruded from my head as I was cushioned between soft watermelons.

"Okay break it up! Hands off my human Diana."

"Oh. Neptune. Hello."

The moon goddess said and looked at Pollux up and down before hugging me tighter.

Nao sweatdropped and Daiki sighed in defeat. I just gave them apologetic looks before sitting down.

"Hi Akali!! Why are you here? Can I get you something? Ooh ooh do you want Takoyaki?"

"Nice! I've trained you well Nao-kun."

"Bitch please."

"Stop. The child has come for serious reasons. Let her talk."

Finally having enough of the two, Thanatos emerged from the back of Daiki, making the other two gods look at him.

"Hehe. Hello Thanatos-chan. Hug me"

"No!"

"Should we....?"

"No. Let them have their fun. We need to help Akali find....mom."

"Mom? I'm lucky huh."

"No no don't say it like that Akali-chan!!! We're just adopted, me and big bro, so she can also adopt you!"

"I don't think she'd be willing to accept even more disciples. We're already a handful."

"It's fine. I'm just here to ask her what she knows about me. And now that I know you two are here, how about an alliance hm?"

"Still straightforward I see. Mom is still in the Mizukage's office so let's form an alliance while we wait."

I nodded and sent a request to them, each having a window pop out.

I sighed and pinched the bridge of my nose.

I said and watched as the items I sent fall slowly from above their heads down to their lap. Who would've thought that katana will have a nice owner?

"Arigato Akali. This blade is wonderful."

"Ooooh oooh oh!!!!! Duri-chan come come! You have a collar now~! Who's my pretty lady huh?"

"Woof!"

"They seem happy. I wonder what they will give you?"

"I don't have a clue."

"Not even a deduction?"

"Nope."

I said, conversing with Pollux in my head but he just replied to me with his tongue sticking out. I shrugged and looked at the two. Daiki only tilted his head to the side, as if confused and Nao just excitedly tapped on something. My brows furrowed.

"I hope you'll like my gift."

"Me too me too!"

They both said, the gifts they sent already forming above my head. When it finally finished loading, I caught the two fairly small items on my hand and examined it.

It was....contact lenses. Clear ones. The other one is a book, it's content was....nothing?

"My system said that it's like Google! When you want to read something about.....butterflies,"

He said and closed his eyes shut as if thinking. When he touched the book with his hand, all sorts of information about butterflies appeared on every page. He then immediately went through the last chapter, and then the book was empty again.

"Just think of what you like to read and after you finish it, you can read another one again! It's also pocket sized so it's easy to carry!"

I nodded subconsciously. The book has my complete attention because of the descriptions he just said, and probably because of the vintage style that the book has. It's pages were slightly yellow and it's a bit dry that it crunches a little every time I went through a page. Each paper radiated the soft smell of black coffee, just like someone has spilled the said drink all over it but still managed to make it look timely. The cover is leather, like an old diary that brought back nostalgia from when I was still in the Russian military. I had the same diary once.

"Thank you Nao."

I said with a soft smile on my face. Next I unraveled was the contact lenses. Like I had first noticed, it was a clear one. And I'm not a big fan of these things so I didn't really know how to use or take care of it.

"Put it on."

"Does it need preparation or something?"

"No. Just put it on."

"Oh boy. Let me do it."

Pollux said and sat in front of me.

"Now, look up, eyes wide open."

I did as he said and I felt him slowly put in the clear contacts on the lower side of my eye.

"Slowly blink....there. Do the same for the other one.............yes. there. All done."

"Aww. So cute. I didn't know the God of Sharks was this caring~"

"Shattap."

I blinked once again and looked at Daiki directly. He was staring back with such curiosity, but so do I as thanked him for the gift.

"Once you out it on, that's permanent. It's a special lense that upgrades your (observation) skill. It also has a built in black light and finger print identification. So I think it would suit you."

I blinked once again and tried the said black light on the cup in front of me.

[On effect. Finding traces of The Shinigami's saliva and chamomile.]

I nodded, blinking once more to return my vision back to normal. Once I regained the proper colors of the world, I looked at Daiki with a smile.

"Thanks."

I said and closed my eyes once again. Daiki furrowed his brows and looked like he was questioning something so I took the liberty to ask him

"Is there something wrong?"

"No. It's just that you have beautiful eyes. Why do you keep them hidden?"

"Ah. Old hobby of mine. I was still here when the bloodline purge was on about so a stranger told me to cover my eyes for protection."

"So up until now, you have been fighting with your eyes closed?"

"Yeah. It wasn't a good experience, but it was worth it. This way, I won't be worried if I ever become blind."

I said in which he nodded, looking at me then at Nao who was staring at me with sparkling eyes.

"That's so cool!!! Can I learn it too?!?!?!"

"Well, I'm still adjusting to it. It takes a whole lifetime to learn this skill but I'm sure you have the resolve for that."

I chuckled and Nao pouted like a fat panda bear.

"Was that supposed to be sarcastic?"

"Not when you don't take it like such."

Daiki chuckled at his little brother's innocence.

"How about I get some tea? Wait here."

He said and stood up, walking away from the table until we can no longer follow him with our eyes.

"You know Akali-chan, you're kind."

I was taken aback by Nao's sudden words so I kept my mouth shut and waited for him to finish.

"In our past life......brother and I had to kill people even if we never wanted to. We were trained assasins ever since we were born and our family was strict about our moral code. You're really refreshing to be with after being with psychopaths our whole life."

I sighed and shook my head.

"Nah. I'm not. I'm just as f*cked up as everyone you saw. Maybe even more. So even if you trust me, don't do it fully. Who knows, I might regress back to my sh*tty attitude in my past life."

It's the basic rule of existing. Never trust anyone but yourself. Why should I waste his trust on someone like me if I can't even trust myself?

"Good thing that past you was dead and you're now here. The kind Akali. So, forget about your past and just be like this forever."

He smiled and patted his white furred dog. It's eyes are pure black, and it's fur was as thick as a mane, but I guess it still passes as cute rather than scary?

"He has nice enthusiasm. If only he knew the things I could do though."

Silence enveloped us as we waited for Daiki to bring back tea. There was still Pollux annoying the hell out of Thanatos and the moon goddess laughing along but it felt comfortable.

"Here's tea. Careful."

Daiki said when he arrived with a ceramic pot filled with swirled designs. He took three small cups from the tray and put one in front of us. He then poured tea gracefully.

I tilted my head in confusion.

"Pretty and graceful. He's more womanly than me."

"Of course hun. I trained you to be a free soul and a vicious hunter. He was trained as an elegant swordsman. See the difference?"

"Yep. When I sit next to him, I look like a savage and he looks like a proper princess."

"Pffft. Totally."

I drank the tea like it was cold water and gently put it down, a steam of smoke protruding on my face as I sighed. All three of us were enjoying the silence until the wooden sliding doors opened. The gods immediately went inside each of us as we looked up from our position to see who entered.

Dark green hair, onyx eyes and a cigarette on his mouth. I could never forget the first time we met, on that forest when I was still starting.

"Oka Mayuko-san?"

My voice seemed to catch his attention as he looked down at me after putting the butt of his burnt out cigarette on the ash tray, looking pleasantly surprised after seeing me along with the brothers.

"Miss smarty pants was it? Look how you've grown."

He chuckled and removed the katana hanging on his belt and hung it on a wall.

"Sensei? You know each other?"

"Well, I was searching for your mother when I first saw her. She was living in a cave on the outskirts of the village and I threatened her a tiny bit."

"Tiny is an understatement. You almost took my head."

"-and then she said she would help me look for Asuga-hime. So cute when she promised me that and she was still 7 or 8."

"Speaking of which, you found her right??"

"Of course. She's outside talking to someone. She'll be in here in a minute. Speaking of which, why have you come here?"

He asked and leaned on the door frame with crossed arms. I sighed.

"You'll know once she enters. I'm not explaining everything again."

I sweatdropped.

"-yes yes. Now if you would, I'm going back."

"Take care."

A big sigh was heared as the door opened again, this time it was a woman of tall footing. Probably 6 feet lower, she has and hourglass figure and her hair was the same color with mine and Daiki's, a mixture between baby blue and very light purple. A silver sabre is noticeable on her hips as with it's length complimented just how tall she is. And her eyes, definitely ice cold.

My voice was stuck on my throat so I coughed a little to get the tension out of my system.

"Must be Asuga Yuki. You have to ask why Kisame told you to find her."

"I feel like she's staring at my soul God damn."

I

took a deep breath and exhaled, my heart pounding in excitement because of new plot that's going to expand my story.

(Did she just break the fourth wall? Hehe)

"Okaa-chan okaerinasai!!" (welcome home)

Nao shouted and jumped at her with a big hug, along with Duri who barked happily. She chuckled and placed a hand over Nao's head seeing as she was so tall that he only hugged her waist.

"Tadaima Nao-chan. Dai-chan. I see you have a guest?" (I'm back)

She said and looked at me again. This time I didn't hesitate to look back with my eyes open just to battle her on some sort of........staring contest.

"She's our friend Okaa-sama. She wanted to talk to you about something."

"I see. Very well then, leave us be."

"Come on you two. Let's go downstairs and train."

"Hai hai!!!"

"I see where he got that grace now."

I nodded slightly and watched as she sat down in front of me, pouring herself tea and drinking it.

"What did you want to talk about?"

"Ah.......I've been sent by Kisame Hoshi-"

Before I can finish my sentence, I sensed immence bloodlust and almost immediately, I summoned a bone wall to protect me as the tip of the sabre went through it's cracks and pointed directly on my left eye.

"Holy shit!"

"You have fast reflexes. But forgive me for I am not doing anything concerning that man. Good bye."

"No wait-"

Just as I was to let the wall down, it was punched crudely that it broke into pieces, a hand suddenly gripping my shirt and holding me mid air.

"I just asked him about- about who I was! And he...he said I should come to you."

I was practicing breathing exercises because one mistake I make would cause me my head. Gamer's mind took immediately control and calmed me down, slowing my heart rate into normal again.

"I....just wanted to know why he looked so much like me. He's from here too isn't he? I just want to know who left me in Kirigakure's forests to survive alone and fight wild animals just to live another day."

"I'm not falling for your lies."

"But I'm not lying."

A tense silence enveloped us as I bravely stared into the cold eyes of death.

"Believe it or not, you hurting me will not change the urge that I have to find my parents. I don't need them to love me back. I just want to know why."

I said and removed the cloak. Good thing I'm wearing a sleeveless turtle neck so the marks on my arms and eyes were totally seen. Her eyes widened, as if in realization of something.

She sighed and pinched the bridge of her nose.

"I have a hunch why he sent you to me. But I'm not jumping into any conclusions until we hear the reason from him."

She said and grabbed my arm. When we got outside, she whistled quite loudly after she did that a big snow owl appeared, even if it's not yet winter. She threw me up and rode the owl.

"Take us to Kisame, will you Arima?"

The owl responded with a hoot as we took off and flew faster than I could even imagine. Due to the size of the owl, there was no problem skipping nations at all. Soon enough, we were at Kusagakure's grass fields, blocking off Itachi and Kisame from their path.

She then carried me back down and held my hand, walking up to Kisame who doesn't look surprised at all. He looked rather......sad. what?
