[31] Danzo

Kagami is set down on the Nara's kitchen table. Her leg falls off and dangles, so Danzo lifts it up and places it back down harshly.  She is sweating profusely and has her eyes squeezed shut. Yoshino had kicked out Danzo, saying that he wouldn't be useful to her in any way. 

"Mum, what do you have to do with Kagami? And how do you know how to fix this?" Shikamaru is staring at his mother. She sweatdrops. 

"I don't," the entire room snaps to her, "I just saw the look on your father's face and did something." 

Shikaku chuckles worriedly, completely lost in what to do. Kagami suddenly kicks her body up and smacks back down onto the table, snapping the handcuffs and freeing her hands. Kakashi moves forward, ready to hold her down, but she puts her hand up and takes deep breaths. 

She leans back on the table and tries to catch her breath, causing her body to relax against the cold surface of the wood table top. The only noise in the room is her breathing and the slow drip of the sink. 

"Shikaku, turn the tap off, it's irritating me." The said man sighs at his wife and walks over to his kitchen sink and twists the knob around as tightly as he can before walking back over and examining the girl. 

"I commend the girl's strength but I highly doubt she'll be in shape to move around for the next few days. I suggest she—" drip. 

Drip.

"Shikaku, I thought I told you to turn the tap off." Yoshino stares at the tap but sees the sink completely dry. "Where is it coming f—"

"Dad," everyone glances over at Shikamaru, he was looking at the ground. 

A small puddle of dark red blood had accumulated on the floor, dripping slowly from Kagami's ankle. She groans and pushes herself up to have a look but can't get all the way up and sticks with leaning on her elbows. 

"Where did that come from?" Ino looks at the wound and slowly peels away her pant leg, revealing scratch marks from her ankle to her calf. 

"Fucking Danzo," Kagami hisses, her stony eyes glaring at the roof as she rips her ninja belt off and grabs her katana. "I'm going to kill him." 

"Hey," Kakashi grabs the katana off the girl and forces her to sit back, his eyes glancing around the room. "Sit back, you aren't able to sit up, let alone kill a village official." 

Kagami just hisses loudly, before letting go and staying back down. She glances around the room, staring at Team 10. She sighs and lays back, bringing her injured leg to her chest and looking at it. 

"Nara, get Ibiki and Inoichi Yamanaka. They owe me," All three Nara's glances at each other before Yoshino hurriedly runs out the door. "And I sure as hell want to know why the fuck Danzo was in the Hokage's office when the said man was not!" 

It clicks in everyone's mind that Kagami was not even acknowledging herself but the fact that the village may be compromised, a selfless act. 

"Kagami, think about yourself for once, y—"

"What do you think I'm doing?" Everyone gulped as the girl flared up at her brother. Kagami has never lost it, she had snapped, and threatened to kill a few people. But Kagami had never been like this, her voice was deadly quiet but you could hear the anger clearly. Her face was pale from blood loss and it was obviously affecting her actions. 

"First, I get taken out of the Root, put into the Black Ops, and then onto the fucking Genin teams. Are you getting this, brother?" Kagami was now sitting up on the table. "My entire life has been altered to think of the village. I'm stuck protecting a bunch of tweens. And all they have done is send reports to the Hokage and say I'm shit at anything they can think up in their little puny brains." Kagami was fuming, all her thoughts were tumbling out of her mouth. 

Shikaku turns to look at his son with his eyebrows raised, who looked down at the floor in shame, along with his team. Asuma makes eye contact with the man and shakes his head, sighing. 

"Kagami, this behaviour isn't appropriate." Kakashi was glaring at his sister, knowing she was aiming to make the genin in the room feel terrible. "We are in someone else's house, and they are helping us." 

Kagami suddenly slumps forward, her brother catching her. She leans to the side and pulls her mask down, throwing everything up. Kakashi silently pats her back, knowing that all of what just happened are side effects of the ink printed onto her skin.

"She'll fall asleep soon, people are known to go crazy from this. Hopefully, that isn't the case for Kagami." Shikaku speaks up, surprising everyone. Kagami groans and rolls overs onto the table, clearly about to pass out. "What I really want to know, Shikamaru." 

The boy tenses, knowing the next question, "is what's this talk about you guys getting her in trouble? Hm?" 

The three Genin continue to stare at the ground in shame. 

"Hm? When she is saving your lives, you—"

"Dad, we didn't know. She was just someone we didn't know." 

"And?" The boy winces at his father's answer. "I brought you up to not judge someone, your friends with Naruto." The man stares down his nose at the kids, being more frightening than anyone had ever seen him. "What would your mother say." 

At this sentence everyone in the room tenses knowing the wrath that belonged to Yoshino Nara.

"And what about your parents, hm? Your fathers would not be happy." Choji sniffles a bit, even though he didn't do anything major against Kagami he definitely didn't stand up for her. Ino, she was embedded with grief about how she had treated the girl. 

Kagami chuckles lowly, "I should've come to your parents in the first place. Since the Hokage obviously loves you lot too much to get you in trouble." She glances at the blonde, her eyes practically burning holes into the girl. "It was you, wasn't it."

Ino flinches a little, looking up to see if the girl was talking to her. "It was you, and Sakura. You orchestrated the little vendetta against me." Kagami lays flat again, looking at the roof. "Yamanaka and Haruno, Uzumaki, then the Uchiha. Then Inuzuka, who got Aburame in on it. 

Silently, Yoshino and the two men enter, silently standing behind the crowd. 

"And then you backed out, but it was too late. 'Kagami should have lessons on listening, and Kakashi is just lazy.'" Kagami yawns, almost asleep. "Nine reports." She chuckles, "Then, you tried to become friends with me. Now that's gotta count as manipulation. You, Ino Yamanaka, are going to have no problem being part of the torture unit." 

Kagami suddenly coughs heavily, her mask becoming damp with what is obviously blood. Ibiki pushes forward, pulling her mask down and opening her mouth, checking her tongue. 

"You've done it this time Hatake, you're not gonna be able to do anything for at least a week." 

"I recover quickly."

"I'm already accounting for that." 

'Kagami, you've pushed yourself this time.' 

Kagami blocks out Yua and focuses on staying awake. "Ibiki it hurts." 

It was like the girl had been reduced to a mean child again. 

"Where?"

"My leg, it's burning." The man looks down at the wound, hissing slightly. 

"Inoichi come here, you brought the kit right?" The man nods and he opens the recovery kit immediately. 

"Move everyone, we need space. Come on Shikaku, just like old times." Inoichi pulls out a bottle and uncorks it. 

"Kakashi, you might want to try and distract her, normally she's fine with it," Inoichi looks up at him, "but she's finally discovered emotions."

Kakashi was ridden with worry. His sister was being worked on while he sat there, babysitting three Genin. Also, Kagami has never spoken that much in her life, which speaks volumes. Loud ones. But this will make her revert back to the way she was when they met her, it's happened before and Kakashi had no doubt that it would happen again. 

Kakashi sighs, leaning back into the couch. 

"Hey, Kakashi-sensei?" Ino peers over at the man, to which he just blankly stares back at her. "What was that?" 

Kakashi sighs, wishing someone else could answer the question for him, he was tired at this point. He looks at the roof lazily. 

"When you are part of the Anbu, you go on dangerous missions. These missions are almost always top secret. Sometimes when you get a particularly crucial mission, they will seal those secrets into your mind, so you can't speak of them. It's a warranty for the village if you get captured." 

"Wait so, every Anbu. . . ?"

"No, it's implemented within the Root. It is believed that Danzo doesn't use it for the missions, but instead he puts it on people who do his bidding for him, the people who know his secrets." Kakashi looks over at the students. Though he was angry with them at the moment, he hopes that they never join either of the Anbu, particularly Root. It breaks people. 

"But what could Kagami possibly know that would cause him to use it on her?" Choji had never been that curious of Kagami, but today seemed to change that point of view. 

"Many things, anything." Shikamaru was also peering up at his lounge room ceiling. "It would seem that to this 'Danzo' character, that any information is too much."

'This boy. . . . This boy is way too smart for his own good.' Kakashi glanced at the young boy, his eyes were clouded slightly, glossy. 'Oh, he's sad,' 

Kakashi takes a few more looks at the boy, trying to figure him out. 'Oh'

'Oh. . . .' 

'Oh, indeed Kakashi.' 

'Masaru you need to stop jumping into my head, it's an invasion of my privacy.'

'You wanna know something Kakashi?' 

'What Masaru.' 

'You sound exactly like Kagami, it's kinda like you are related or something.' 

'Masaru. . .'

'Hey, I'm leaving.'

Kakashi suddenly gets up very quickly to the sound of knocking at the door. 

"Coming," he says lazily, he's pretty sure whoever was behind the door couldn't hear him. He opens the door slightly to see who is outside. He is surprised to see Team 7 standing there looking rather annoyed. 

"Kakashi-sensei you were in on this!" Sakura was hysterical for some reason. 

"I don't know what you're talking about." The man tells his team, slightly confused by them. 

"We waited 30 minutes at the BBQ restaurant for you lot and no one came," Sasuke explains to his teacher. 

Kakashi's eyes go wide before he sheepishly rubs the back of his neck. He had completely forgotten about BBQ. His and Asuma's teams were supposed to meet up and eat, but as you can tell they got a little sidetracked. 

"INO!" Sakura charges into the house, right past Kagami getting operated on in the kitchen and into the lounge room. She tackles the blonde aggressively, shaking her back and forth by the collar. "You think this is funny!" 

But Ino didn't react, she was too busy thinking about Kagami. 

"Sakura." Sasuke's voice came in from the kitchen, the girl gets up and walks back towards him. 

"What is it Sasuke-ku—" Sakura stares at the girl getting her leg stitched back together. 

"Come on, into the lounge room." Kakashi lightly leads them away from Kagami, who was starting to wake up again. She has fainted a total of 3 times since she started getting patched up. 

"Sensei? What happened." Sakura stares at him. 

This time Ibiki answers for him. 

"Danzo."
