Piper: ' 💜 '
It was Saturday and the girls had decided to go out to their local mall and get food. It was just passed noon as Piper bounced down the stairs in her house, before she grabbed her black denim jacket.
"I'm heading out now!" She called out.
After a brief silence, her mom emerged from the kitchen with a smile. "Be careful, have fun." She quickly gave her a hug before Piper headed outside. She made her way out of her gate and started walking along her street.
The weather had been nice, the sun was shining. The weather highly affected her mood most of the time.
Turning the corner, she clocked Naomi's house at the end at always. Walking up the small pathway, she fixed her bangs into place and sighed before she quickly knocked a couple of times. She waited for a moment and when no one answered, she glanced back out into the street and sighed.
She then heard the lock rattle and she turned around to see the door open, and Yoongi standing. One hand fitted into his black cargo trouser pocket, as his other ran up the door as he flashed Piper a smile.
"Hey shorty!" He greeted her before he stood aside. He had a long baggy black shirt on, and his hair was pulled back into a backwards cap.
Holy crap.
Piper swallowed the lump in her throat as she trembled a little smile. "Hello." She quietly spoke as she walked in and stopped at the bottom of the stairs as Yoongi closed over the door.
"Where are you heading out too?" He asked, walking over to her as he put his other hand into his other pocket.
"Uh, we're going to get food and go to the mall." Piper glanced up at him as she nodded.
"Hey!" A voice echoed out from above them.
As they looked up, they saw Naomi nearly hanging over the banister. Her slightly frizzy hair swung in the air.
"I am so sorry, I am almost done. My straighteners broke on me, so I had to fish out my old ones!" Naomi told them, as Piper giggled. Naomi then shifted her eyes to Yoongi and narrowed them. "Don't just stand there Yoongi, get our guest a drink or something!" She then smiled widely.
"Our guest mostly lives here." He then nodded, smiling over at Piper which made her blush a little. "Just like how I wish you would live around the corner." He then grinned up at his sister before chuckling a little, his shoulders shuffled up and down as he done so.
"Love you too bro." Naomi rolled her eyes. "Make sure he gets you something!" She pointed to Piper before she vanished down the hallway and into her room.
Piper sighed as she looked at Yoongi.
"Come on, giggles." He cocked his head towards the kitchen before he headed forward. Piper nearly practically melted onto the floor.
"Honestly, I'm fine. I don't have to have anything right now." Piper quickly told him as they reached the kitchen. "I'll get something soon." She ran her nails up her arm and scratched a little nervously.
Yoongi looked her over, as if he was scanning her for moment before he nodded.
"Do you have plans this weekend then?" She asked him.
She watched as he sighed and shook his head. "Not really, but that's not a bad thing necessarily."
"No course not, weekends are for...chilling." She nodded as she turned away and cringed at her reply. Ugh.
"Yeah." Yoongi chuckled as she shyly looked at him. "Hey, you know Mimi. She'll be at least another hour, do you want to come down to the basement?" He asked her.
"Um..." Piper looked behind herself before she raised her shoulders a little. "Sure, okay." She nodded. "Lead the way." She stood aside and giggled.
She followed Yoongi out into the front hallway and then down into the basement. The stairs had been carpeted and were no longer the rickety wooden slabs from before. The air felt fresh and smelled clean. It was dark, but it was more of an ambiance lightening. She saw a sofa sitting, and a large coffee table. The old washing machine and dryer that she remembered were gone.
The space felt larger. The walls had a couple guitars sitting up as well as frames.
"Oh wow, this is insane." Piper commented as she looked around. She turned and saw a large desk with two monitors, an open laptop, speakers and a microphone. In the corner, there was a keyboard with large headphones hanging from the edge.
"Looks different now, right?" Yoongi asked her.
"Different? It's like a completely different room." She scoffed.
"Welcome to my studio." He chuckled, opening out his arms.
"Definitely not just a basement anymore. There's no more laundry piles, broken machines and piles of old board games." She giggled looking up at him.
"Eh, don't speak too soon. I still have those!" He laughed and pointed to a corner where there was a small shelf with piles of board games.
"I love that you still have them. Those have memories right there." Piper giggled.
"Can't get rid of them that easily, and I'm sure we're overdue a rematch with most of them." He then narrowed his eyes with a playful grin on his face.
Piper smiled at she looked over his set up once more and walked over. "This is so cool. Do you have anything you've been working on?" She asked and watched as he made his way over and sat down on his leather looking gamer chair.
"You want a sample?" He looked up at her.
Piper looked over his screens, trying to figure out what it all meant.
"Have you improved since I last heard?" She joked.
"Excuse me?" He snorted.
"You used to rap these lines all of the time, to the point we were tired of hearing you!" Piper laughed. "But...I don't mean that maliciously. You're...a perfectionist." She nodded, looking at him. "You are good at that, but I liked your singing." She rolled his lips together to contain a smile.
"My singing? Nah...Piper my voice is shit." He shook his head.
"It's not. Seriously, you've got a really good voice." She nodded as she widened her eyes.
Yoongi stared at her as a small content smile sat on his lips.
"I'm not just saying it, but you're crazy talented with music." She shrugged.
Piper watched as he giggled a little to himself, the creases emerging at his eyes as he reached his hand up and nervously fiddled with the thick silver hoop that hung in his earlobe.
She began to smile as she nudged him a little. "Oh don't get shy." She joked a little, trying to cover up her own shyness.
"Ach, don't make be blush!" Yoongi laughed with her as he waved her hand away. "Stop it." He grinned as he took her wrist and waved her hand a little before dropping it, as well as dropping his head down a little.
Piper couldn't help but smile when he did. His smile was too contagious.
"Thanks, shorty." He nodded and cleared his throat and he looked back up at her. The two of them stared at each other for what it felt like a moment before the basement door got yanked open.
"Piper?" Naomi called out.
"I'm here!" Piper instantly called back out of nerves as she jumped a little, before she cleared her throat. Naomi came halfway down the stairs with a grin.
"We're ready to go. Shall we get the bus or call an uber?" She then asked.
"You're not paying a fortune for an uber, come on I'll drive you." Yoongi stood up and walked over to his black and white sneakers.
"Oh! You're too kind!" Naomi mocked a little before she grinned a little mischievously. Piper walked up to the stairs and sighed, flashing her friend a small smile as she waited for Yoongi. Naomi turned and made her way back upstairs, as Yoongi walked over to Piper.
"Come on." He softly told her, as he placed his hand to her back as she began to walk upstairs. Her eyes widened a little as a slight shiver ran up her spine. She really hopes he didn't catch that.
The three of them exited the basement and Yoongi grabbed a set of keys from behind the front door, before they made their way out into the drive and into his black jeep.
During the car ride, Naomi had took over the music in the passenger side as Piper tried to keep her eyes out of her window from the back seat. The slight breeze blew on her skin from the lowered windows at the front. Every so often she would try and sneak a glance at Yoongi in the front mirror, but every time she looked up she would catch him already looking at her.
Her stomach fluttered around a little.
Once they got to the mall, the girls got out.
"Thanking you!" Naomi sighed as she slid her purse over her body and fixed her hair.
"Text me when you're heading home and I'll pick you up okay." Yoongi leaned his arm out of the window and tapped on his door. "Stay safe." He nodded before he looked at Piper and raised his eyebrows with a smile before he drove off.
