20:01, 13 June 2025' She was a playboy, Brigitte Bardot. She showed me things, I didn't know '
Piper had her music blasting through Naomi's kitchen as she kept an eye on the food cooking on the stove.
"I just wanna get to know ya, guess I didn't quite think it through" She quietly sung along to herself, peering into the pan of food.
"Baby, why don't you come over. Red wine supernova, falling into me - let's pick it up now!" She grabbed a wooden spoon and held it to her mouth as she sung a little louder, and began to dance a little.
"I don't care that you're a stoner - " She twirled around and stopped dead when she saw Yoongi standing, leaning on the kitchen door and grinning at her. As she gasped, her face immediately ran hot and she watched as he began to laugh. Not mocking, more genuine.
"Jesus..." She spoke quietly, throwing the spoon back into the pan before she grabbed her phone and switched off the music just as Chappell Roan began to talk about fuc-
Anyway!
"What are you doing standing there?" Piper whined a little as she turned away from him and shook her head.
What an embarrassment.
"Sorry, it is my house." His voice sauntered over to her before he put his bowl into the sink and glanced over to Piper with a smirk.
"Ahem, you better wash that or Naomi will freak." Piper commented, looking away from him.
"Ah, where is my darling sister? Left all the cooking to someone else as per..." He chuckled, turning the water on as he started to wash up his dishes.
"She went upstairs to change." Piper shrugged, as she slowly started to stir the food.Yoongi turned the faucet off and grabbed some paper towels as he dried off his hands. He leaned over Piper's shoulder and peered at the food.
"Looks good, smells good." He commented. Piper turned to him as he looked down at her and they looked right at each other.
Piper's face began to heat up again as she quickly looked away.
"...tacos." Piper then randomly told him quietly, and she listened to him chuckle beside her. He then nodded to himself before he leaned against the worktop, reaching his hands up to rest them on the counter top.
Piper glanced over at him before she looked forward again. Why was he standing there?! As if she wasn't embarrassed enough.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you. I just...didn't want to interrupt your little...concert." He told her, as she looked over at him. Out of nerves, or embarrassment or both she started to laugh as she watched him laugh with her.
Yoongi didn't laugh a lot. When they were growing up, he was quite quiet. He was an introvert, like her. He would annoy the girls from time to time, but it was playful. When he did laugh, his eyes would crease at the corner of his almond like eyes. Piper liked hearing him laugh.
"God, you're so embarrassing." Piper shook her head.
"Me?! I didn't do anything, I was just witnessing a free show." He crossed over his arms before his smile dropped and he frowned. "Wait, that sounds wrong. Not a show?" He thought before smirking over at Piper.
"Oh for - " Piper covered her face with her free hand. "You're disgusting." She quietly told him as she shook her head.
"We'll keep that for when you're listening to Sabrina Carpenter." He then nodded as Piper frowned at him in confusion.
"That's that me espresso." Yoongi began to sing a little as he shimmied his hips which made Piper burst out into laughter.
"Yoongi, what the hell?!" She turned away from him and covered her face with both of her hands.
"Ach I'm just teasing you, shorty." Yoongi told her as she felt his hands clamp down onto both of her shoulders, which made her jump a little. He rocked her to the side for a brief moment before his touch was gone.
As Piper turned around she watched as he made his way over to the refrigerator and pulled out two bottles of water. Before he could close over the door, Piper turned away and sighed as she began to stir the food on the hob again. Expecting him to leave, she was surprised when a bottle of water was popped down beside her on the counter.
"So seriously, how is senior year going so far?" Yoongi asked her, clearing his throat as he opened up his own bottle.
"So far so good, but we're only a month in." She turned to him and smiled. "I'm sure that feeling will gradually decline as I start to stress about exams." She admitted.
"Don't stress about them just now, you're only a month in." He smirked, repeating her words. "Seriously though, don't worry about that shit right now. It doesn't help with anything at all. Trust me." He widened his eyes.
"Besides...I'm always here if you need anything."
Piper glanced over at him as she frowned with a smile. "Help from someone who was always in detention?"
"Okay, that was because I could be too opinionated sometimes, not because of shit work. Teachers hate it when you talk back." Yoongi shrugged with a smile.
Piper nodded in agreement. "How is college so far?" She asked.
"Honestly, it's good. I'm working with music all day, and learning new things and so far I'm having a really freakin good time." He chuckled. "Did Mimi tell you about my set up?"
"Oh yeah, you got some music gear?" Piper nodded.
"I used all my money I saved up over high school, as well some of my college fund - which sorry dad - and also some of it was gifted." He chuckled, raising his shoulders.
"That's cool! When it's something you enjoy, that's always worth it. You've been passionate about music since we met." Piper nodded.
Yoongi stared at her with a small grin on his face.
"Yeah. You remember..." He chuckled.
"Course I do..." Piper looked away from him as she tried to contain her wide smile. "You've been making beats and tracks since you were fourteen...probably before we met?"
"You're right." He told her quietly as he nodded. He then glanced away and cleared his throat, before he shuffled his fingers through his hair. The layers, feathering out a little."You should come down and see it sometime. I feel like we haven't...hung out properly in a while."
"I'm always here." Piper scoffed.
"Yeah, with Mimi. I think the last time we spent time together was...that night you stayed over, a couple of years ago. I forced the two of you to watch horror movies - "
" - and after Naomi had her screaming fit, she fell asleep on the floor under her duvet!" Piper laughed.
"Yeah. Then we turned off the movie and started playing Cluedo...which you're freakishly good at." He pointed to her and chuckled. "That's impressive."
She could always remember that. It was winter time, and she had fluffy pyjamas and socks, and she thought he was crazy for sitting in a shirt and shorts. They sat around the small wooden table in his living room, and it was when she realized that her crush on him was definitely not outgrown just yet because he heavily started to call her more nicknames - such as shorty.
The thing was, with Naomi and Yoongi being siblings and Naomi being her best friend, he was also like a brother to her. Which made Piper feel guilty about her feelings, because she knew if it ever got out, Yoongi and Naomi would think she was crazy.
"Sure, you can show me your set up." Piper nodded. She watched as Yoongi stared at her, his dark eyes stared right back at her as a small smile appeared on his lips. His stares could carry a lot of intensity.
"Something smells great!" Naomi barged into the kitchen which made Piper jump a little.
"Yeah, you should thank your chef here." Yoongi mocked as Naomi joined Piper's side.
"Oh you're back again. Out to scavenge more food for your den?" Naomi smiled widely before she looked at Piper and rolled her eyes.
"Oh behave, both of you." Piper giggled.
"Tut, he always starts it." Naomi grabbed the unopened bottle of water on the counter and opened it before drinking some. "Yoongi, my dear brother. Would you like to stay upstairs and have dinner with us?" She then mocked.
Yoongi stared at her with a straight face as he smacked his mouth a little.
"Y'know I think I will, if our chef will have me." He glanced over at Piper and saw her smile and nod.
"Great, then get the plates out of the cupboard and set places up." Naomi ordered him.
"Y'know Mimi, it wouldn't hurt to actually lift a finger for once." He told her, standing up straight.
"Ugh, don't call me that." Naomi sighed as she stared right at Piper with wide eyes. "This guy." She then whispered which made Piper roll her lips together to stop herself smiling.
