Piper sat scribbling on her notebook as she listened to her teacher. She had switched off her brain, half way through the lesson. She sighed and yawned as she glanced over towards her friend Naomi who was also yawning.

They both looked at each other and began to laugh a little at each others reactions. Piper turned her face away as she tried to hold in her laugh. She wiped away some water from her eyes that resulted from her yawning.

Suddenly the bell echoed throughout the class and the school.

"Thank god, I thought I was going to fall asleep." Naomi commented as she stood up.

"I don't know why you chose History..." Piper admitted, glancing up at her friend as she picked up her belongings.

"It was either this or Politics. Both of them were just as bad, and you took this one so I wasn't going to be alone." Naomi widened her eyes, making Piper chuckle.

The girls made their way out of the classroom and to their lockers.

"Do you want to come over today? We can make something nice for dinner." Naomi grinned as she fumbled with her locker combination.

Piper laughed, opening her own locker. 'Something good' was a stretch for Naomi, cooking was not her strong point.

"I guess that'll be something to experience." Piper commented, and earned an eyeroll.

The girls had known each other since middle school. Piper had moved into the neighbourhood and when she was walking to school one day, Naomi - brazen as always - caught up to her and asked her about the move and school. They started hanging out together and they'd been friends since.

Grabbing her books, Piper took one last glance inside her locker.

"My mom is working late tonight, so she said we can make what we want for dinner. I really need to start making food..." Naomi flung her backpack strap over her shoulder before slamming over her locker door. "Food delivery is getting really expensive"

Piper laughed as she shook her head. "Convenient, but expensive."

The girls didn't live too far away from the school. They mostly walked when the weather was good. That was a good thing about moving into the neighbourhood near Naomi, mostly everything you needed was local.

As the girls walked down the street, you could see Naomi's house at the end. It was a large white two story building, with a basement. It looked like a typical white picket fence house with a wide front garden, and an even bigger backyard with a pool.

Piper casually followed behind Naomi as she realized there was already a jeep parked in the drive. She widened her eyes as her stomach knotted a little.

The girls walked into the house as Piper looked around and frowned. "Is your mom back early? Something is cooking." She commented as she smelled the aroma of food in the air. She was also referring back to the parked car, but she knew that wasn't who it belonged too.

Naomi threw her backpack down and paused for a moment before she sighed and rolled her eyes. "No, it's back from class!" She dramatically gasped before smirking and shaking her head.

Piper widened her eyes. That only meant one person.

"Hello!" Naomi shouted as she made her way towards the kitchen.

Piper quickly followed behind and as she walked into the kitchen, there he stood with his back to the girls was Naomi's brother - Yoongi.

Naomi and Yoongi were born thirteen months apart. He had always been around when the girls became close, he was only a year older. Since middle school, Piper had a crush on him but when they went to high school, her feelings became quite intense. The three of them were nearly always together when Piper was at their house, as well as Jin - Yoongi's friend from school.

She began to dislike going to Naomi's because she was nervous. When she was younger, she would talk nonsense if she had to, but as she got older she didn't really know what to say without embarrassing herself in front of Yoongi.

She had tried for years to not make it obvious to Naomi, because surely that would be weird.

"Are you trying to burn the house down?" Naomi mocked as she walked over to her brother.

"Oh you're home. Does that school not keep you long enough anymore?" Yoongi's deep voice asked as he fiddled at the stove.

"No, you were always late because you loved detention so much." Naomi mocked a little as she examined what he was doing.

Yoongi had always been taller than the girls, but when he went to high school he took a growth spurt and gotten taller. He was almost six foot by the time he left senior year.

"Since you're already cooking, I'm sure you'd be so gracious to give us some." Naomi smiled up at him, as she put her hand onto her hip and sighed.

"Heh! Yeah, you wish." Yoongi snorted before he pushed his sister back a little.

"Fine, we're going to be making something better for dinner anyway." Naomi rolled her eyes and glanced towards Piper, who stood near the door.

"Who's making dinner? You? You mean order?" Yoongi mocked before he glanced behind himself and locked eyes with Piper. He smiled at her and nodded his head a little. "Alright, shorty?"

Piper's stomach fluttered as she smiled a little. "Hey." She managed to croak out.

"Yes, we're making dinner!" Naomi frowned at him, before punching his shoulder a little. Piper watched as Yoongi laughed. His black hair had gotten longer over the years and it was almost neck length with his front pieces cut into curtain bangs almost.

"Mom's working late, and since dad is out of town...we're cooking." Naomi told him.

"Yeah okay, poor Piper will be cooking and you'll be batting your eyelashes." He snorted a little as he finally turned around and looked towards Piper. He had baggy jeans on with a long baggy shirt.

"Well that is what google is for, I'm sure we'll find a recipe on there." Naomi grinned widely as she nodded towards Piper who smiled at her whilst folding over her arms.

"I'd honestly just order, you don't know what you'll be eating with her." Yoongi crossed over his arms, and cocked his head towards Naomi as he laughed.

"Ach, you're such an ass!" Naomi tutted. "Hold on." She then briskly left the kitchen, leaving Yoongi and Piper alone.

Great...

Piper walked over to the kitchen island and awkwardly dropped her eyes down and tried to clear her throat a little.

"How was school today?" Yoongi's deep voice made her look up. He reached over to the counter beside him and took an Oreo before popping it into his mouth.

"Oh, y'know...it was school." Piper shrugged as she smiled at him.

He stared at her before he chuckled and nodded. "Yeah, I get that." He admitted, leaning over and picking up more Oreo's.

"How was class today?" She quietly asked him.

Yoongi had decided to stay close to home and go to community college. He was majoring in music. He'd been passionate about it since she'd met him at fourteen.

"Eh, it was class." He slightly mocked a little as he leaned over and handed her an Oreo. "Don't tell Mimi. Can't let out who I prefer to share food with." He smirked at little.

Yoongi had always called Naomi Mimi, since they were younger. She hated it and he knew that.

"Thanks..." Piper laughed as she took the biscuit from him, before Naomi walked back into the kitchen with her phone in her hand.

"This shit looks easy, I'm sure we'll be fine." She flashed her phone into Piper's face to reveal a recipe.

Yoongi laughed to himself as he began to pour instant noodles from a pot to a bowl.

"Good luck shorty, you'll need it." He than popped the packet of Oreo's under one arm, a bottle of water under another and held onto his bowl as he walked past the girls.

"Are you away back to your man cave?! Where you cower from sunlight?" Naomi called out a little before she looked at Piper and rolled her eyes.

"No, just from you!" They heard Yoongi shout back before the basement door closed.

"He's such an ass." Naomi scoffed and smiled before she sighed. "Right, let's get started!" She headed over to the sink. "Ugh, wash your dishes." She commented, as she lifted the pot Yoongi left behind.

Piper giggled as she popped her Oreo into her mouth.
