Nothing is here. Just rocks. A whole bunch of rocks.
I sighed. "Guess that what I get for believing on this." I stared at the paper.
I really thought there would be something here. After one magical creature after another, rock people wouldn't be the weirdest that I'll have seen today.
"Come on Elsa, give me more clues." I muttered.
Then I heard a rumble. Like rocks rolling on the ground. I looked up from the paper and saw it. The rock person.
At this point I was just too shocked to react.
"It's Jack Frost." It said.
"Jack Frost?" One by one the round rocks turned to a rock person. I felt myself fall over when the rock I was sitting on transformed.
"Jack Frost!" One of them said excitedly. "Nice of you to drop on by here. How have you been?"
"Uh." Was the only thing I could think of saying at the moment.
"Oh right, we should reintroduce ourselves." They huddled up. "Alright one, two, three and-"
They started to hum. Oh no, I see where this is going. "Singing rock people." I blurted out.
"Well, we're usually referred to as trolls but whatever floats your boat I guess." The rock- or should I say troll, said.
"Yeah I was actually wondering if Grand Pabbie was here? You I saw this letter from Elsa saying he can help with my memories?" I asked.
They paused. There was a long, sort of uncomfortable, silence paired with them exchanging looks.
"Is uh... Grand Pabbie here?" I asked, to break the silence.
"Oh! Yes he is, he is. Wait here. I'm Bulda by the way. Make sure you remember." Bulda said before, quite literally, rolling off.
I then sat back down. "So, Jack Frost right?" A small troll went to me. "I heard a lot about you." It said.
"Really?" I asked, clearly surprised.
Am I known around these parts? Do people believe in me here or am I just visible to them because they're magic?
"Yeah, the elders tell a lot of stories about you." It said.
"What kind of stories?" I asked.
The it began to tell a tale that was not really familiar to me. Maybe I was an expression here too, just like how Jamie's mom referred to me.
I don't really know much about this place, much less know the monarchs here personally. Fighting alongside the king and queen sound like something you'd tell a child.
"We're back." Bulda said. Behind her was an old looking rock, its moss a plenty and the straws on its face creating the illusion of a beard.
"Grand Pabbie?" I asked.
"I've been expecting you for quite some time." He said. From the sound of the voice, he does indeed sound like someone of the Grand Pabbie title.
"Are you here to retrieve your memories?" He asked.
"You can give them back?" I asked back.
"Not exactly. But I do know a way to help about it." He said.

How long has it been? Years? Decades?... Centuries?
She's long gone isn't she?
Why did I take too long? Why did it take me this long to go back?
I looked back at the paper written by her to me. Elsa...
I folded it and put it back to my hoodie pocket.
My memories, they were altered. I did have people believe in me. All these time I thought it was Jamie that saw me first. But it was her.
Elsa believed in me first. And she always had.
She waited for me.
"Elsa... I'm sorry." I choked on my words. "I promised and I-"
So the first time in a long time I felt tears stream down my face. It felt worst than the time the other guardians felt disappoinged in me.
I'm disappointed in myself. What did I do? Why did I let that happen? I shouldn't have.
"Gale." I whispered under my breath. "I forgot your name for a while haven't I?"
A soft breeze went past me, as if the wind was replying.
I sat down for a moment, reflecting on what I've been doing all these years. All that time when I was moping about not being seen before I was chosen, all that time there was someone waiting for me.
"I'm sorry." I kept repeating like she'll hear me.
I took a deep breath and flew my way back to the North Mountain. Back to her Ice Castle which is now just down to Ice Ruins. That's how long it's been.
That's how long I took before I remembered.
I walked around the place, observing the changes that happened throughout time. I did have memories of her here, not necessarily good ones since we were on the run that time, but memories nonetheless.
The Valley of the Living Rock would've been a nice place to reminisce but after zooming out I doubt I'll be able to face the trolls for some time.
I didn't even let the memory alteration reversal finish, I think remembering her is plenty. I don't think I'd want to go through remembering how I last saw her.
I know the fearling got me. That's why they had to do that to my memory. And that's on me for letting the fealings get to me too much.
I don't even remember how the fearling got to me, at this point I don't want to remember. Maybe remembering would jeopardize my Guardian status at this point.
Pitch is already taken care of, I can't risk giving him a chance to get his feet up.
I took a deep breath and looked up. It's already night out. The stars are twinkling and there wasn't a cloud in the sky.
"How long have I been standing here?" I asked myself.
I shook my head. Maybe I need a refresher, head to a new destination to cool my head.
But where do I even go? It's not like I could just go to Burgess and bug Jamie, that'll freak tons of people if I bring snow in the middle of summer.
I don't really want to see the other guardians right now so their places are a no go. As much as I want someone to talk to, I don't think I could tell them about that just yet.
My train of thoughts was interrupted when I heard something from behind me. I turned around to see a small snowman, a snowgie. Actually, it wasn't just one, there were tons of them.
I couldn't help but smile. "Hey there fellas, how are you doing?" I asked, sitting down to get to their level a bit.
They began to gather around me, some even climbing on to my lap. Something about them just instantly made me laugh, like a weight went off my shoulder which is ironic because some of them were on my shoulder.
"Woah careful." I said, catching one from falling off me and returning it back to my lap.
Then at the corner of my eye I saw one snowgie looking from afar. I held out my hand. "Come on." I invited it and it gladly came to me.
"Wow there are a lot of you here. How long have you stayed here for?" I asked them, of course I didn't really wait for a reply.
"At least you kept each other company." I commented. And that's when I remembered another lone snowgie.
"Wait, I'll be right back." I told the snowgies as I set them down. "Don't worry, I'll be quick. I just have to bring back a friend." I said.
I flew my way back to Ahtohallan and looked for the other one, the one that gave me the letter.
"Hey buddy, wanna come with me? I'll take you to your other friends." I said, crouching down in front of it and offering my hand.
It quickly jumped on with a smile.
"Alright, off we go then." I said.
I looked around as I walked, the snowgie on my hand happily bouncing up and down. It was only now that I got to notice the surroundings here.
It looks oddly cozy in here, lively almost, like someone actually stays here still. It was well kept, which I guess is the wonders of a magical place.
It's not like there's anything else special you can do with a place literally made of ice. The only place here that would be taken care of was the room we passed a moment ago.
Which looked like it was just used.
"That's odd." I stopped on my tracks.
"Are you the only one is here li'l guy?" I asked the snowgie on my hand.
Surely, he's not the only one that keeps this place clean. If anything, it should look messy because if there's one thing I know about snowgies, they're pretty chaotic.
I began to head back to the room.
Surely a small snowgie like this couldn't have made a dent on this bed this size.
I looked at the photos on the wall, Elsa was in all of them. But the people with her though; some looked like Anna, freckles and all, some, like Kristoff. Are they their kids? But that can't be, Elsa looked like she didn't age at all.
Unless.
"Alright buddy, I'll get you to your friends. I have somewhere else I have to be." I told the snowgie.
***
I guess you can say I was as quick as a bunny, quickly dropping off the snowgie with the others then quickly heading back to the Valley of the Living Rock.
"Grand Pabbie! Bulda! I have more questions! I-"
I stopped on my tracks. The place was empty. No rocks. No trolls.
Did I just imagine everything just earlier? What in the world?
I began to look around. "Am I going crazy?" I muttered to myself. "They were just here I swear."
I flew around one more time.
"I swear I'm not crazy." I rubbed my temple.
"I don't know, you've been talking to yourself for quite some time now." Someone suddenly said.
"Who said that?" I looked around. I felt someone tap my shoulder so I looked around.
"Wha-" I took a step back.
"Hi Jack Frost!" The little troll waved, the same one I talked to about my adventures around here. I guess you can say I actually understand the things he told me about earlier.
"Hey, how long have you been there?" I asked, pointing to where he just popped up.
"Long enough." It smiled cheekily.
I just laughed, awkwardly. "Okay. Well, can you tell me where Grand Pabbie and the others is then?" I asked.
"I can show you where they are but I'm not allowed to stay there. They're discussing about boring grown up talk." It said.
"Okay, thank you." I said.
I waited for the little troll to walk but it just stared at me. "Are we going to uh-"
It raised both its hand up. I just did the same. Then it shook his head. I guess I did it wrong? It then put his arms forward, palm facing the sky. I imitated it once more.
Its smile grew wide, then it crouched down and before I knew it, it jumped towards me, landing on my hands.
"Woah." I said, as I tried to regain my balance. Heavy.
"To Grand Pabbie!" The little troll said, finger pointing to my left. I guess I'm carrying this little troll to there.
With a few more walks and turns, we finally arrived. It jumped off again and waved me goodbye. "They're just beyond this moss curtain." It said before rolling away.
"Okay, thanks." I said again.
I slowly opened the curtain. It was dark, like it was heading to a tunnel. It sort of looks like one of Bunny's tunnel, only less dirt-y and more rock-y.
As I went closer to the light I heard voices. They are here after all. Just like what the little troll said.
"Hello? Excuse me for intruding but-" before I could finish I saw a glimpse of what was waiting for me.
Of who was waiting for me.
I felt my heart skip, I'm holding my breath. My eyes instantly felt watery.
"Elsa?" I managed to blurt out.
Am I dreaming? Did that tunnel lead me to a dream world?
That can't be, Elsa can't be here. That just not possible. It's been literal centuries, that would only mean one thing if she actually is here.
If it actually was her in front of me.
"Elsa, t-that's you... right?" I stuttered.
Beautiful blonde hair, porcelain-like pale skin, big blue eyes that almost sparkle, rosy cheeks, cute button nose. This has to be her.
Our eyes met. Hers were glistening, teary almost, like it could reflect the whole room.
"J-jack?" She said with that sweet voice of hers. It's been so long since I heard that. It's been too long.
Without hesitation I ran towards her. She did the same. We then met at the middle, instantly getting to an embrace.
That's when I felt something in me, like an electrocuting feeling that tingled my body. Something just switched on and my tears just instantly fell down.
"I knew you'd come back." She said.
"I'm back. I'm home. I'm so so sorry." I said, hugging her tight. "I'm never leaving again."
I felt her hug me tighter as well.
I had so many questions. What happened while I was away? How did this happen? Where did she stay all this time?
Just thinking about it made me think of even more questions to ask both Elsa and the trolls because clearly she's been in touch with them.
I feel so stupid for not letting Grand Pabbie finish earlier.
"I missed you. So much." I heard Elsa say. I felt my legs feel weak, hearing her say that. I'm as guilty as ever.
I pulled away from our hug to look at her, my hands cupping her cheeks.
Her eyes, I just noticed, were bloodshot. "How long have you been crying?" I joked.
She laughed. "Same amount as you maybe." She said, pointed out, cupping my cheeks as well.
I laughed. "A while then." I told her. She laughed once more.
She then pulled me in for another hug. "I thought I was never going to see you again. Grand Pabbie told me you were just here. I was so excited until he said you flew away without having to hear them tell you I was here." She said.
"I thought you were going to go away for good. I thought you got scared of your memories again and finally decided to never come back here ever again and-"
I pulled away and decided to give her a kiss. Making her shut up but sealing her lips with mine.
"I'm sorry. It wasn't that okay? I wasn't going away for good. Specially not now, when I know you're here. Never again." I said.
"I love you Elsa." I said.
Her breath hitched. Smile wide as ever, I couldn't help but smile too. "I love you too Jack." She said, her hands on my nape.
I then leaned in to give her another kiss, which she gladly accepted back. A sweet kiss, filled with longing and a rollercoaster of emotions. I was almost out of breath when we pulled away.
I was about to say something when we heard a something that hit the floor. "Oops." Someone said.
It was only then that the thought of the other people with us sunk in my head.
I was so focused on Elsa the moment I got there that I forgot there were someone else in the room with us. I can feel the heat rising to my cheeks out of embarrassment.
"Go on you two. Don't mind us. We were on our way out." Bulda said, waving goodbye as they exited the room through the moss curtain.
I couldn't say anything. Elsa as well. We just stood there blushing like tomatoes as we watched the trolls roll out the room.
Grand Pabbie was the last to go out with them. "Welcome back Jack." He said before finally leaving me and Elsa behind.
And silence. We took one look at each other before we bursted out laughing.
"That was so awkward." Elsa said.
"Yeah, my mind just forgot that you weren't the only one here with me." I admitted.
Elsa laughed. "To be honest, same." She said. "I was so focused on you that I just... my mind went blank." She said, laughing it off once more.
I took a hold of her hands. It feels real. She's really here. I couldn't help but let out a small laugh mixed with a sigh of relief. I pulled her hand closer to my face and gave it a peck.
"I'm back." I said softly. "Thank you, for waiting."
I can feel it again. The tears about to fall. I'm just so happy right now. I can't help it.
I feel like I'm feeling every emotion possible just in this day. Happiness, relief, anger on myself for taking so long, sadness for making Elsa wait... everything.
"I love you. I love you so much." I repeated.
Elsa gave me a peck on the cheek and hugged me once more. "I love you too. So, so much."
"You're gonna need to tell me what else I missed here." I told her. "I have so many questions."
"It's gonna be a long story." Elsa said, heading to a chair.
"Well, take your time. I won't be going anywhere." I said, sitting beside her.
She looked at me and smiled. "Okay. Where do I even start?" She laughed, looking up the ceiling.
