"Tooth, North told me you needed help?" I looked over to the Toothfairy fluttering around the place. She was murmuring something under her breath.

"Tooth?" I called her again, knocking on one of the pillars to catch her attention.

"Oh, hi Jack. I didn't realize you were here." Tooth finally looked my way. "Do you need anything?" She asked.

"No, I thought you needed my help?" I asked confused.

"What? I don't think there's any help that I need at the moment." Tooth paused.

"Maybe something I don't know about? North was the one that told you to go here right? Did he say anything about it? Is there another emergency? Are we getting new guardians?" Tooth excitedly fired one question after another.

"Woah woah, one question at a time. I did not get all of that. But one thing I do know is that there is no emergency on North's side." I explained. "In fact he probably just told me to come here so I don't mess with the yetis again." I laughed.

"Phew. That's a relief. Though I guess he would've just used the signal again if that were the case." Tooth said.

"Signal?" I raised an eyebrow.

"Oh, you know, the Aurora Borealis." Tooth explain, fluttering her way back to where she was when I first saw her. I just followed behind.

"That's the Guardian's signal for emergency?" I asked.

"More like for a meeting. We had them when you were chosen." Tooth said excitedly.

"Which reminds me, how is it being a Guardian?" Tooth asked.

I shrugged. "Same-y but also different-y? It was fun when it was the first few weeks of spring and snow was still there but now it's mid-summer and I can't even go to Jamie's." I said.

"Oh don't worry. You'll meet them again next time. How long's it been? A few months?" Tooth asked.

"Yeah, and I have to wait a few more months to be allowed to go back there." I ranted.

"Well on the bright side, you're still allowed on cold areas." Tooth said trying to cheer me up.

"Oh, and look at this." She said grabbing one of the tooth boxes. "This is from one of the children in Burgess. In his memory I saw Jamie and you in it. Jamie's spreading the word about you! Isn't that great?" She said excitedly.

"Yeah, that's awesome. More people to see me." I said. "That tooth box sure is handy for making people remember things huh?" I said scanning the room.

"Yeah, it's an honor to be the Guardian of Memories." Tooth said with a proud smile.

"Which reminds me, one of my MiniFairies told me about a small town in Norway where they were talking about the river full of memories." Tooth said.

"I haven't heard of it before, which for the Guardian of Memories, sounds like something I should've known." Tooth said.

"A river full of memories." I paused. "Sounds interesting."

"Right? We should got here sometimes. I could trust my Minifaries to keep this place running while I'm off for a research mission." Tooth said.

"Well, I'm always free during no snow days so I'd love to come with. Why not?"

***

The place felt awfully familiar. Despite the fact that I've been quite literally around the world, this place has always left me with the sense of familiarity.

It felt new but comforting at the same time.

"Where in Norway are we?" I asked, looking around.

"If I'm not mistaken, this was called Northuldra. Forgive me if this place is named something else now, prior to the whole incident from last time I have not went out much." Tooth explained.

"Interesting name. Sounds... literal." I said looking over a mountain with a huge ice-like ruin on it.

"Oh we're not quite there yet." Tooth said, picking up her phase and heading to a straight direction. "The river we're looking for should be somewhere around here." She said pointing at something.

I followed the direction she was pointing at. "Maybe we should head down." She said. I nodded and followed her behind.

We did find a river. But from what I can tell, there was nothing special about that river whatsoever.

"Are you sure this is the right place?" I asked.

"Well, it should be. That's at least where the Minifaries told me." Tooth shrugged.

"Well I-" before I could finish, I felt the wind swoop me off my feet.

"Uh, Jack?" Tooth looked at me confused.

"Sorry, the wind sort of did this." I said, letting myself go down, plopping on the ground.

Tooth let out a little laugh. "Maybe the wind is telling us that we should maybe try our luck later." Tooth said.

She was saying something else but at the corner of my eye I saw some trees seemingly burning. I can't tell if it really was or if it was my eyes playing tricks on me.

"Is that... fire?" I asked walking closer to it.

"What? Where?" Tooth looked over to where I was looking.

"Oh my goodness are there any civilians in here?" She quickly flew away and scanned the area. I did the same.

But in the duration of us looking around, the fire was gone. Like it never happened. Maybe my mind was playing tricks on me.

"But I saw it too. That's odd." Tooth said.

"Wait I see something moving from there." I said, flying my way to a tree. "A salamander?" I looked at it closely.

I tilted my head and it mirrored what I just did.

"Awe, cute little fella." Tooth said from behind me which startled me a bit. And apparently it scared the salamander too.

One thing that scared me about this salamander is that it caught on fire. I just instinctively sprayed ice on it.

"Oh no it fell." I flew down as quick as I could and made it a snow cushion to hopefully soften its landing. On hind sight I should've just caught it myself.

"Are you okay buddy?" I asked the salamander that laid on its stomach. "Oh no I killed it."

"You what?" Tooth flew down as well and picked it up. "Are you sure it's dead but it's- AH!"

Tooth instantly set it back down the snow and took a step back as it went back up and caught fire again

"That's not normal right?" I asked, looking at the salamander, now covered in steam as the snow beneath it melted.

"No no no, it's okay. We're not here to harm you." Tooth said, assuring the salamander. Slowly, its fire went down. I gave it another small pile of snow.

"That's right." Tooth nodded, noticing it calming down. "We're just here to find the river full of memory." She said.

The salamander looked at me. For an uncomfortable amount of time. Then to Tooth and excitedly stood up, circled around and began to run away.

"Well, that was weird." I commented as we watched it get away.

Tooth laughed. "Not the oddest encounter I've had so far." She said. "I guess that ends our little search for the river full of memories."

"I guess." I said.

"I'm going to head back to the Tooth Palace, you're free to join me if you want. Unless you want to go back to the North Pole and watch the Yetis at work of course." Tooth said.

"I think I'll stay here for a bit." I said.

Tooth looked at me with a raised eyebrow. "Don't worry, I won't cause any trouble. Wouldn't want to be back on the naughty list after just getting my record cleaned." I said.

"Alright then. Feel free to visit any time you want." Tooth waved goodbye and flew away.

From a distance I saw a portal being generated and straight to the Tooth Palace she went. Snow globes truly are handy.

"Their work is never done huh?" I muttered to myself.ย

I felt something go to my hand. To my surprise, it was the salamander from earlier. "Huh, you're still here?" I asked, like it's going to answer me.

It tilted its head. "You wouldn't happen to know where that 'river full of memories' are don't you?" I asked. It jumped up and down excitedly.ย

"Wait, you do?" I furrowed my eyebrows as it turned to one direction and started running. I instinctively followed it. I don't even know if it actually understood me, but from what I know this is no ordinary salamander. As far as I know, no salamander can catch fire and survive from that.

Considering its little legs, it ran pretty fast. I even had to glide my way to keep up, not that running wasn't enough but it was just a chore to do at this point.

"Slow down buddy, we're not in a hurry." I told the salamander. It stopped on its tracks and looked at me, jumped up and down then just continued to run. "Alright then, I guess we are in a hurry."

***

The river full of memories was not a river. Not technically. It was still a body of water, I'll give it that.

"Wind, take me to that light." I said, pointing towards an iceberg. I was in the middle of an ocean, its waves was very strong and the wind seems to fight against me. It's honestly a miracle that I'm still standing freely in the air.

The flaming salamander pointed this way, I couldn't really confirm whether I'm heading the correct direction now or not but I couldn't really take it with me. Fire and water doesn't exactly mix well.

The closer I got to the iceberg, the brighter it got, the calmer the seas became.

This place is magical, I could tell.

I began to walk around. The place is solid ice; the floor, the wall, everything. It's even smooth and it glows. I continued to roam around and noticed a small bridge of ice that goes across a cliff-like crack between the ice.

Ice, everything is ice.

"If this is supposed to be that river, this does not look anything at all like a river." I muttered to myself.

Then I noticed a bed on a carved room. Surrounded by other trinkets and photos. A cushion, blanket, and a small stuffed penguin.ย

On the photos there were people, a lot of them. But all of them had one thing in common, they all have this girl with pale skin and platinum blonde hair. The people with her changed every frame, they all somehow looked like her though. Maybe relatives? That's a huge family.

"Someone must've lived here." I told myself.

I returned to looking around. Then I saw something glimmer. I went towards it and saw a statue. It was a statue of me.

"What in the?" I furrowed my eyebrows. I sat beside it to examine it more. It has my likeness; my hair, nose, hands, height is spot on and it even has my staff. "What is this?"

I was about to tap it with my staff until I heard something from behind me. I jumped in surprise and turned towards the source of the sound. There was nothing there, or at least I thought until I looked down.

"Ah!" I took a step back when I saw a small snowman, the size of my palm, walking towards me. "The snowman... moves." I couldn't believe what I was saying.

It jumped, a huge grin on its face. This day just gets weirder and weirder. First a flaming salamander, now a moving snowman.ย

I just stared at it for a moment, it stared back. Then it turned its attention to the statue. "I know, weird isn't it? I look just like this statue." I commented.ย

It just looked at me. I laughed at myself. "What am I doing talking to a snowman?"

It jumped once more, showing the little snow tooth on its face like it's laughing at me. "Yeah I deserve that." I muttered to myself.

Then once it stopped it went back to where it came. "There it goes." I say, turning my attention back to the statue.

Now that I look at it more, I noticed that the statue looked like past me. I wasn't wearing my current hoodie.

"This is odd. Have I been here before?" My voice trailed off as I noticed from the reflection that the little snowman came back with a small paper on its mouth.

I went over to it and took the paper from him. "Thanks." I told the snowman who simply nodded.

Right away I saw handwritten on the first fold "To Jack Frost, the Winter Spirit". Right away my interest was peaked.

A letter? For me?

I opened it and saw a very neat handwriting.

"Dear Jack,

If you're reading this right now then I'm relieved. It finally reached you.

I don't exactly know how many years will it have been once you read this, or if you ever will, but I did make sure that it will be in mint condition once you do read it.

I do hope it is still readable."

Well, it is readable, just not mint condition as the person who wrote this intended. The paper definitely feels like it's old, and the coloring if off too.

"I'm writing this to tell you that you should head to the Valley of the Living Rock. I'm not entirely sure if Ahtohallan can help you restore your memories since I don't know if you know how to find them. But if you find Grand Pabbie, he might be better help.

You told me that you don't want to forget. It was the only way to save you then, I 'm sorry. But for what it's worth, if you do get your memories back, I'll be waiting.

Yours truly,Elsa"

I paused.

Memories? But I know my memories already; the tooth box, my sister, is there something I'm missing?

Elsa. Who's Elsa?

What does she mean by save me? Who's Grand Pabbie? I began to search around once more. I need to know more answers.

I have to know.

I went back to the room I saw earlier, looking more intently on the pictures.

Is that her? The platinum blonde haired girl? Is that Elsa? "Are you Elsa?" I asked, like the picture will answer.

I looked around once more. "Excuse me." I mutter as I opened the drawer. Nothing but papers. I skimmed through them and saw a book.

I picked it up and a piece of paper fell down. A map. The Valley of the Living Rock.

"Grand Pabbie." I say to myself and hurried my way to where it pointed.
