Chapter 7 :D
-------------------------------
Lacy's POV
"Revive? I'm stuck in a building for my sake!" I kept my eyes covered, refusing to look up.
"Well, I just revived you, and the bus is about to leave, come on!" James handed me my controller, I glared a little at him before following him outside, the bus had already left, and the two other players were down, and needed to be revived on the bus, good going everyone, we're all screwed...
"Well, we can do this! Just get those headshots like you said you do, and we'll work as a team to fight them down." James nudged me, I walked over this fire-y crack, my side of the screen was red, the controller vibrated in my hands, I jumped all around, finding myself go into the fog.
"Where are you going?" James asked, chuckling. I heard noises, but a weird demon jumped onto me, his claw marks appearing on the screen.
"James! What just happened?!" I shrieked a little, my character fell down.
"Oh no, we're probably screwed, and this is only the fourth round." James mumbled, about eight Zombies following him around the small area that we had.
"Get 'em!" I pointed, covering my eyes every now and then.
"I'm trying, they're- noooo! We lost." James put a frown on his face.
"Yeah...let's do something else, maybe bake like you suggested earlier?" I really wanted to stop playing video games, yeah we just started playing, but I was too scared to continue, I don't know what I got myself into.
"Okay, well, what do you have to bake?"
"Well, we have raw cookie dough in the fridge." I put my legs back onto the floor, they were still up to my chest when we lost the game.
"That could work." James added, agreeing.
"Oh wait, my mom says not to cook on the stove or bake in the oven, pretty much anything while she's gone, it's a rule she made three years ago." I sighed to myself, we did have quite a few rules.
"But you're 16, yeah? Don't you take culinary arts in your school?"
"Well, I'm signing up for it next year, next semester I'll be in the intro, so not yet." I explained to him about my schedule.
"Oh, I'm not much of a cook or a baker, but I was willing to help, guess we could skip over that...erm what else?" James stated, then questioned.
"I think you said...talk and play games? I guess we could do those things."
"I didn't know what to ay for talk, but if there's anything you want to talk about, I'm all ears." James commented, searching in my eyes for any hints.
"Not right now, games, we have bored games? Unless a different game like hide and seek or something, or what they play at the parties, truth or dare. I don't know what to play." I shook my head, putting my hands up a little.
"Maybe we can ask some questions back and forth? Maybe not 20, but just questions?" James bit his bottom lip, not intentionally I believe.
"Oh, erm, yeah." I nodded, finding my way over to the middle of our round rug, he watched me, and gave me a confused look.
"I'd rather play here." I giggled, patting a seat in front of me for him to sit, which he was glad to.
"Any siblings?" I already started questioning.
Jame's POV (Niall)
"I'd rather play here." She giggled in a cute way, she was sitting cross-legged on the big, round rug, she started patting a seat across her. I realized that was my cue to sit down.
"Any siblings?" She started out.
"Yeah, I have a brother named Greg." I nodded, answering truthfully. The least I can do is to try my best by answering around or being truthful about some things. And now I know it's my turn to ask when she left a short smile on her face, "Any other siblings besides Nathan?" My accent grew thick in the question, I don't know why though.
"Nope, but I'm glad, that means less in my business." Lacy moved some hair away from her face, I wish I could do that. I chuckled some, knowing her so far, she seems less fazed by the thought of friends and family.
"Okay, any girlfriends?" Lacy asked, I blushed a little, shaking my head at her, she nodded. I knew I couldn't ask the boyfriend thing, it'd be wrong.
"Favorite color?" Yeah, dumb question, but at least it is one, I couldn't think of one on the spot, it's the best I could come up with at the moment, I suppose.
"Blue, it has meanings to it for me." Lacy sighed, but not a mad or sad sigh, more like a thoughtful sigh.
"How so?"
"That's two questions, let me ask you, what's yours?" Lacy let a little smirk form on her lips.
"My favorite color, well, you know, I'm Irish and all, so mine would have to be green." I let out a wink.
"Calm, inspiring, spiritual, and sincere." She started listing.
"What?" I asked.
"The answer, to your question, and you just asked another, okay, so does your color have a meaning to you?"
"Hmm, not really, to me I just like the color." I replied to her, not knowing what I could possibly say to her.
"You're a very mysterious person, it's like I know you, but there's so much I feel like I don't. It's different." She had scratched her forehead, concentrating on me for a little longer than normal.
"Oh...erm, is that so? Well...I'm not mysterious..." I felt like I was getting a little warm, the heat rised in my cheeks, but the only light in here was dim.
"Yeah, I know that, but it's just, I can't place a name on it." Lacy shook her head, shrugging off the idea that she had told me about.
My phone started vibrating in my pocket, I didn't want to look at it, but Lacy started to notice it, moving her vision down to my pants.
"Looks like someone is calling you, go ahead, you can answer it. I'll just go refill my drink." Lacy pointed out, grabbing her cup, and heading into the kitchen.
Caller ID: Liam
I answered it, "Hello?"
"Niall, where are you?" Liam's 'daddy direction' voice ringed in my ears.
"I'm out right now." I tried to make it sound like something simple in case Lacy would eaves drop.
"We realized that, mate, but what are you doing? We have interviews in the morning." Liam replied.
"Well, I'll be home soon, don't worry about it."
"Okay, but seriously, what ARE you doing? Is it a secret?" Liam started questioning, great.
"I'm hanging out, maybe." I responded to both.
"Oh, well, 'have fun' and not too much fun! Make sure you're safe too!"
"You know I'm a virgin, you know my morals, lad." I rolled my eyes, chuckling at his dirty thoughts, Liam likes to joke around with those kinds of things.
"Never know, you could just get rid of those morals anytime, what time will you be back? We're having Chinese takeout in an hour." Liam's words hit me, my mouth almost started watering, yum!
"I don't know, I'll see you later." I pressed 'end' on my iPhone, shoving it back into my pocket, Lacy came back in within perfect timing. It worries me that she might find out about me, she'll never want to speak to me again.
"I refilled your drink too." She handed it to me.
"Oh, thanks." I smiled, taking some sips before setting it down on the table.
"You know, you can go whenever you want...if someone wants you back...it's fine." She was hesitant about saying it, but she kept going.
"Well! Trying to kick me out, yeah?" I winked at her.
"No! I was just....just nevermind!" Lacy sat back down in her original spot, running her hands through her hair.
"We could play a different game?"
"Like? Lacy asked, in a quiet tone.
"Truth or dare?"
"Never played it." She answered.
"You've never played truth or- well I can, I can explain the rules. If you pick truth, I ask you a question and you answer truthfully, if you choose dare, I tell you what to do, and you have to do it." I explained to her.
"Okay..."
"Truth or dare?"
"Ermm...dare." She said, stumbling a little, her voice was in a whisper almost.
"I dare you to...hmm, scare your brother." I didn't want to make her do anything she didn't want to do or anything to embarrass her, so this was what I had came up with.
Lacy stood up, allowing me to follow, her brother's door was wide open, he was on the computer with his headphones in, and an essay opened up on his computer. Lacy walked straight behind him, finding that his ipod was on the floor, she grabbed it carefully, the volume was on low as I could tell, she switched it up real quick, making his body jolt from his seat. The music was blaring through the headphones with dubstep. Oh my god.
"LACY!" Nathan yelled, holding his ears.
"Hey little brother." Lacy waved innocently, wow, she could really pull that off.
"UGH! CAN'T YOU SEE I'M WORKING ON AN ESSAY! GO WRITE IN YOUR DIARY MORE ABOUT YOUR LIFE- I MEAN, GET OUT!" Nathan shouted at Lacy, my eyed widened. Diary? She keeps a diary?
"How do you know about my diary?!" Lacy stood on her grounds, I brushed my fingers on her arm, letting her know that she doesn't need to yell or get in this way.
"You mentioned it once before! You told me and mom!" Nathan fired back, his eyes getting a little darker than they were before, he had hazel eyes, but they turned near a black-ish color, that's when I pulled my arm back, crossing my arms over my chest. What is going on?
"I NEVER," Lacy paused when I touched out to her arm again, "never, told you guys that..." Lacy continued, storming out of his room in seconds.
"Oh my god..." Nathan whispered, running his fingers through his hair.
"Want to tell me what's going on?" I grabbed one of his other computer chairs while he plopped down onto his bed, roughly rubbing his face with his hands.
"I...well, erm...I read her diary before..." Nathan whispered so soft, I almost didn't even hear everything he said, but I soon caught on.
"Oh, she never told you and her mom before, has she?" I didn't want to be loud, but I still asked in a quiet voice.
"No..." He whispered again, "I really messed up, she never spends time with us anymore, she sits in her room all day, she doesn't like to come out, if it's to eat...she does it later than when we really eat...she's acting different...you're the first friend she's had over...ever." Nathan explain with a soft, calm voice.
"Really?" I asked, I mean, I could guess some of that, but I didn't want him to know that I know some of that.
"She's harming herself...I don't know what to do anymore..." Nathan took a deep sigh.
"Oh my god...let me talk to her, settle her down, I'll tell her that you didn't read it, how about that?" I put my hand on his shoulder for comfort.
"She won't believe you...but you can try." Nathan nodded, trudging back towards his computer to continue his essay and studying. I bit my lip, she keeps everything in a diary, that's upsetting.
"Lacy?" I called for her when I got down stairs, I only heard soft muffles of cries coming from the kitchen, she must not have heard me. I walked in on her shaking with a knife, hovering over her wrist.
"Lacy! No, put that down!" I hurried over to her, holding my hand out to hold it.
"James...I-I'm a terrible person...Nathan knows..." She whispered, keeping the sharp knife hovering over her harmed skin of deep and light cuts.
"Nathan, about him, he said he never read your diary, erm, he just saw it, he never read it, you should've seen how pale and how much guilt he had written on his face, you're safe, but you have to stop this, this isn't good for you." I whispered, grabbing the knife slowly, and placing it back into the knife display they had on the kitchen counter.
"I don't even care...he probably came down to conclusions...James, I can't stop..." Lacy let the tears fall again, I couldn't help her rule with the no touching, but I pulled her into my chest, letting her cry onto my shirt.
"You can be stronger than this, Lacy. I know you can, just calm down right now." I rubbed circles on her back, trying to keep her from breaking down again, she's almost getting pretty calm.
"Can...I have some...alone time?" Lacy questioned, not even wanting to look at me when she pulled away.
"Of course, just....don't, please don't do it, things will get better if you keep trying, I'll see you later?"
She only nodded, taking me to the door, and waving goodbye, I felt bad for her, she doesn't need this, she's beautiful and she doesn't even know it. I wish I could help her so much better, she doesn't need to be like this, I want to help, and I'm going to help.
