Chapter 6
02:32, 1 March 2013(A/N: Had about four people ask me to update this! And I just decided since I have a lot in my drafts, so far, I'm really loving this story, writing of course too! And it's really cute <3)
Chapter 6 :D
---------------------------
Lacy's POV
I screamed into a pillow, venting my feelings into a cushion practically. Why can't I just jump off the roof, I don't want to go on a date with James!
I knew something was weird about him! He's a black mailing, liar, rapist, gah! I can make a whole 80,497 page list about him, isn't that lovely?
"Stupid...stupid...gah." I muttered under my breath, pulling out clothes, why should I even have to look nice? He didn't threaten about anything formal or a little bit casual, so I'm gonna go with something...more lazy.
"Honey!!!"
"What, mom?" I opened my door, I'm get exhausted using the top of my lungs so much.
"I have to go back to work! Nathan should be back in 15 to 20 minutes, make sure to get ready! Bye! Love you!"
"Okay! Love you too! Bye!" I shut my door, good...this may work.
I can make him never want to see me again, I can make him want to never go on a date with me again. I will look like a horrid person who doesn't know how to style their self. Let the work begin.
I pulled out a pair of my zebra print yoga pants along with my night shirt which was white with a dripping black heart on the front of it. I grabbed one of my ugly scarves that had bright flowers all over it, I always hated this scarf. I put my hair into a high, messy bun, so unattractive, good.
I looked at myself in the full length mirror. Zebra flip flops would match, wouldn't they? Okay.
My flip flops were down stairs so I'll get them on the way down, I walked into my bathroom, pulling out all of my make-up, this shall be fun. I put so many bright eye shadows around my eyes, especially a thick layer of eye liner above my eye, perfect. He's going to love this.
I did the same thing with the other eye, nodding at my performance, jewelry. I walked into my mother's room, looking through a ton of her jewelry, even the old ones in a box under her bed, PERFECT.
I pulled out a huge, gray necklace, putting it on. Earrings, I need good earrings. Aha! I found some cream/brown colored circle earrings with diamonds around it, but they were small, I put them in my ears. I grabbed some faint colored thick bangles and put them on my left arm. This is like a clown, I look so rubbish it's great! (A/N: LINK TO HER OUTFIT ON THE SIDE ALONG WITH HER MAKE-UP AND ACCESSORIES! POLYVORE <3)
"LACE! Where's mom?" I heard Nathan call me.
"She had to go back to work!" I told him, locking my room so no one would be able to get in while I'm gone.
"Well, what are you doing?"
"Getting ready to go on a date, wanna see?" I smirked at myself, this was great, he will flip out, literally.
"Sure, since when do you go on dates?"
"Since now." I said, getting in front of him.
"Oh...my...god..." Nathan held in his chuckles, turning away from me instantly, covering his mouth.
"Don't I look pretty?" I asked, twirling around real quick.
"It...it...looks like...! It looks like a clown threw up on you...hahaha!" He bursted out with fits of laughter, clutching his stomach, he was hunched over by the way, I smiled, just what I was going for, yes!
"Thank you." I commented, slipping on my zebra flip flops.
"You're not serious about this 'date,' are you??" Nathan started getting serious now, staring at me with his eyes wide open.
"Of course I am! Why else would I be dressed up?"
"Okay...who's it with?"
"James."
"Oh...yeah, you look really stupid, I would change your hair and make-up if I were you." Nathan chuckled, turning on the TV, and fixing his gaze onto it.
Knock. Knock.
We both looked at the door.
"You answer, I'll come from the kitchen." I told Nathan, hurrying to the kitchen.
"Hey...James, right?" Nathan asked him.
"Yes! And you must be her...little brother? Older?"
"Younger, I prefer younger, and my name is Nathan."
"Oh, well nice to meet you, Nathan."
"My sister looks like a clown...just saying." Nathan whispered to James, even though I could still hear him.
"Nah, she looks beautiful all of the time, really. I wouldn't mind what she would look like, I like her for her."
Blah, blah, blah, James, stupid prick.
"Yeah...LACY!"
"Coming!" I told them, walking into the room, James' eyes were fixed on me, soon they became bug eyed, it was funny, but I kept a serious face.
"You know, we're going to a fancy restaurant."
"I think this is pretty fancy, I mean, who can do this make-up like me? Plus my hair looks nice, and so do my clothes, let's go." I replied to him, dragging him out with his arm.
"Are you seriously wearing that?" James looked up and down at me.
"Do you hate it?" I made myself get real tears, pretending to be upset, but he seemed panicked now.
"No! I love it! I just thought a dress would have done the trick! I'm sorry!" James pulled me into a quick hug, then opened the passenger door for me.
"You hate it...you hate me." I crossed my arms, letting the tears roll off of my cheeks, it's gotten easier to cry whenever I wanted to now.
"Don't think like that, I actually like you, you're the one who hates me."
"I only...only said that..." I made myself stumble over my words, ha.
"Can we get on a better start, please? I don't want to use things against you, I just wanted you to go on a date with me, you don't understand how sorry I am. " James apologized.
"But you lied and threatened me, you think you can just black mail me anytime?! Yeah, I dressed like this because I didn't want to please you! I don't need to go on this date with you! I think you're so messed up in your head! Why do you want to be friends with me so badly?!" I snapped, of course we were still sitting in my driveway.
"Okay! So maybe I like you! I want to be friends with you! I want to have someone like you in my life! You're different, more original! I like that in people! I never wanted to come off as a bad start, I've tried telling you this, we don't have to go on this date, but you are still gorgeous." James rambled on, his face being colorless.
"Then let's just hang out, instead of a stupid 'date' why can't we just hang out here?" I pointed at my house, then stared back at him.
"You're right, why didn't I just ask to hang out with you more?"
"I don't know." I shrugged, walking inside of my house again.
"Changed your mind about your looks?" Nathan asked, laughing.
"Oh, ha ha, now shut your face." I squeezed past him, walking along the stairs up to my room. I unlocked it, feeling much better now that I can stop being a clown for a day, it's pretty much half clown half slob, not a good feeling to be wearing this.
I scrubbed hard over my eyes with a make-up wipe, yes I know you aren't supposed to do it this close to your eyes, or hard, but I wanted this gunk off as soon as possible, I've never felt so disgusted on my face before.
My faded colored bangles dangled off of my wrist, onto my bathroom counter. I removed my thick, hideous necklace, along with my ancient pearl earrings. I just, I just look plain disgusting, like, how could you get near me and still call me gorgeous in that? I giggled to myself, thinking.
I pulled my shirt over my head, slidding on a tank top that's black and in gold letters say 'Young, Wild, & Free' then I tugged off my yoga pants, pulling on some stretch-y skinny jeans, that works, yeah?
My hair shook as I grabbed my hair bows and bobby pins to let my hair fall from its bun. I wonder if they're even talking to each other down stairs...
I re-locked my door, skipping down the stairs, seeing them talking seriously on the couch until they chuckled as if one of them had said something funny.
"Nice joke, Nathan, where'd you hear that from?" James chuckled lightly, moving his hair up as he spoke to my brother.
"Just some other classmates from school, there's a whole bunch more, oh hey, Lacy." Nathan shifted his eyes to me, I was only standing there, listening to them for a minute.
"What were you guys talking about?" I quizzed, getting in a recliner.
"Jokes." They both answered like it was on cue for a TV show or some type of film to watch, maybe one of those generic kinds.
"Mhm, okay, so..." I trailed off, I feel as if I brought the tension in this room, I don't know, maybe I interrupted their 'bonding time' even if this is supposed to be a night to hang out with James anyways.
"I'm going to see if she's heard it." Nathan whispered to James, obviously I heard him say that, but they don't believe that.
"Okay, Lace! What do you call a fish without an eye?" Nathan looked so excited now, I stared around the room, trying to think, a fish without an eye?
"A one-eyed fish?" I asked, narrowing my eye brows in confusion.
"No! A fsh." He cackled.
"Wait, oh! You meant the actual letter 'i' okay, now I get it." I nodded, smiling, even if it was really...really cheesy.
"Yeah, but, I should really go and study, I have an exam tomorrow, and I haven't studied once..." Nathan admitted, standing straight up.
"Great way to get into college, Nathan, you're going to be a great student." I rolled my eyes, yeah, maybe he is in the eigth grade, but he should be at least studying a little, I mean, he wants to be lawyer when he grows up, this isn't helping him at all.
"Thanks, Lacy!" Nathan smiled wide, oh my god, what an idiot.
"Note my sarcasm, dork." I shooed him with my hand, shaking my head.
"Oh! Shut up!" He commented back, going up the stairs with small stomps, that boy...he's crazy.
"So, honestly, I don't know anything to do here, but if you can think of something, tell me." I let my shoulders lazily shrug, moving my gaze over to him.
"Do you have any films we could watch? Maybe we could play the Playstation over there? Bake? Talk? Play a game?" James threw all of these suggestions out, wow, I actually like all of them.
"Let's pick a few out of that or probably most of that, I don't think we have that many films to watch, but we can do everything else that you have suggested." I replied to him, stretching my legs out in the air, then bringing them back down.
"Sure, I don't mind what we do." James nodded his head.
"Do you want anything to drink? I'm a lame host...I don't really have people over for my company." I whispered the last part, but he still heard it.
"Erm, you're a fine host...really, I'm alright, but maybe I'm thirsty, what do you have?" James questioned, a small grin on his face.
"We have tea, some sodas, water, milk, and I think that's it." I listed them onto my fingers, hoping I didn't leave anything else out.
"I'll just have some of your tea, if that's alright."
"Duh." I rolled my eyes again, simply walking into the kitchen.
"ONE DAY YOUR EYES WILL GET STUCK BY ROLLING THEM EVERY SO OFTEN!" James shouted, but not real loud.
"Yeah, yeah, turn on the Playstation, will ya?" I asked in a yelling manor, I heard him click on the Playstation as it made a sound, good.
I poured two glasses of tea, I don't know what I'd do without tea, it's one of my pride and joys, or maybe it's my main one because I can't think of anything else that is my pride and joy...hmm.
I found my way back into my living room, seeing him turn on two controllers, getting onto the new Call of Duty game: Black Ops 2, lovely. I'm going to be scared out of my pants, but I better hide it.
"Here." I handed him his and took a seat on the couch, our large, flat screen TV was perfect for two player on video games, though I rarely play, I'm more into being hidden than I am to being social.
"Thanks, you like Zombies?" James asked, sipping on his tea a bit.
"Yeah, erm yeah. I like how I get headshots..." I answered him, hoping he'd at least believe that I was alright with it, normally I scream to playing Zombies, but let's try not to, yeah? Well I hope so.
"Oh! Great! We'll be one good team! Online or private match?" James pointed at the screen.
"Online." I replied, the more people, the more I get to hide behind, or just follow because I honestly would pee myself, that's how scared I can get from this. (A/N: Little fact here: I'm a gamer girl, I'm not scared of zombies or anything game related, but I'm going to make Lacy scared out of her mind.)
"We're playing Bus Depot on Tranzit." James grinned at me.
"I don't know what the heck you just said to me." I shook my head, watching as the game was loading, then we both heard the bus honking, it always does that in the beginning.
"It's the map and game type, oh! Collect the little parts, let's build a turbine." James said, pointing them out as he grabbed one, and I did the same. He lead me over to this table where we had to hold the square button to place the part.
I turned around in the game, finding a Zombie coming out of a window, I shot my gun everywhere, I pulled my legs up, and put my arms around them, continuing to shoot at the zombie who has been laying on the floor for about seven seconds now.
"Okay, now you're just wasting bullets." James chuckled at me, killing off any Zombies that were coming our way.
"Yeah, well, ever heard of the rule: Double tap?" I said in an attitude tone of voice.
"Oh, yeah, but in this game, you should know the second they fall, is when they're completely dead," He laughed at me, but kept talking, "we should get on the bus, they've already gotten on it."
James ran out of the building, but the doors shut on me, I was trapped in the building, even though I had one of those turbines that helps the power, but I didn't know what to do with it. I slightly screamed when two Zombies limped their ways towards me.
"Nooooooooo!" I squealed, running in a circle, but one of them got me, clawing at me.
I shielded my eyes, letting the controller fall onto the ground, calming myself.
"I'll revive you, don't worry." James chuckled, patting my back in comfort.

I think that was better, them trying to be friends, or at least for now...
