A man with a red beard smiled a them.

Man: are you three volunteers?

Klaus: ..yes.

Man: great!

Violet: are you VFD?

Man: We sure am!

Man: I sure do! Ot stands for Volunteers Fighting Disease, of course.

Klaus: great, we need to ge there.

Once the Baudelaires had heard the song 2 more times, they were finally at the hospital, they followed VFD into the hospital and met a woman at a desk.

Woman: hello! My name is Babs, paperwork and head of the party planning committee.

Violet: look, there is a library of records.

Violet was motioning to a sign that said:

Klaus: let's go.

The Baudelaires quickly left the volunteers fighting disease even though they technically weren't.

They walked down a hallway and found two doors and opened them. There was a big room with many cabinets inside.

They walked up to a table.

Klaus: it's a file room.

Violet: we probably shouldn't be in here.

Klaus: wait, look.

Klaus picked up a small thick disk.

It read:

THE SNICKET FILE

Violet: Jaques.

Klaus: and isabelle.

Violet: we should take it, this is probably what oalf is here to get.

Klaus: it's a film. And there are players right ove there. We should watch it quick.

Violet put it in the film player and the Baudelaires stood and watched. Klaus put sunny down.

The film started and Jaques snicket was on the screen.

A man: Jaques Snicket, you had something important to discuss?

Jaques: yes, I'm afraid there may be a survivor of the fire.

Thier eyes got big.

Violet: one of our parents might be alive...

But suddenly the door opened of the file room.

The heard Esmé Squalor's voice:

Esmé: Baudelaires?? Are you in here?

Violet: Esmé!

Violet quickly took ou the snicket file and they hid behind one stack of cabinets.

Esmé: I hear you, Baudelaires!

Klaus: there is an OUT chute.

Violet: good idea.

Esmé: you have something I need.

The Baudelaires continued to run to the chute.

Esmé: it's small, round, full of.. secrets.

Esmé started to topple the big cabinets over.

Violet helped klaus and sunny into the chute.

Esmé toppled one on the other side of the room and like dominoes, the cabinets next to it started to fall too.

A cabinet fell onto the OUT chute.

Esmé: i want it!

She screamed and violet looked down at the small disk in her hand. She gave it to klaus and he closed the chute door.

Violet started running to the EXIT door.

Esmé ran after her.

Esmé: there is no where to go, violet. You're all alone.

Violet: no, I'm almost out.

Violet opened the door and realized that she was not out, she wasn't at all, because the man who was standing on the other side of that door, was Count Olaf.
