Last Day
04:07, 5 August 2024I sat down next to Mione. "Liv." She gave me a quick hug. "Harry told us everything. I can't believe you are expelled. She just can't do this."
I smiled. "It's fine, Mione." I put the bag on the bench. "I was thinking a last day sleepover?"
Mione smiled. "Yes." I smiled.
"Where are you going?" Ron asked. "You're not thinking about going back to Snapes home are you? My parents can give you a room if you need."
I put some food on my plate. "I'm housing with Gold." They all looked slightly confused, I smiled. "A big black dog with golden eyes. He protected us from the werewolf a couple years ago." The realization came to all of them and their eyes widened slightly.
"Liv." Cedric took a seat next to me, I smiled. "What happened with Umbridge?"
I sighed. "Nothing much, just a little banishment that starts tomorrow after breakfast." Cedric's eyes widen. "It's fine."
"No, you shouldn't be expelled." Cedric's brows furrowed. "She can't do that, can she?" He looked to my friends.
"Dumbledore went into hiding, the Minister was going to send him to Azkaban." Harry scowled. "Fudge also made Umbridge Headmistress of Hogwarts. She can do anything she wants."
"Guys. It's fine." I ate a mini potato. "It is what it is."
"It is what it is?" Ron scoffed. "Bloody hell, Liv. Do you care for anything?"
"I care for things just not this." I defended. "Can we all just not do this right now. I leave after breakfast and rather have a fun time before I leave."
"Liv, we are just worried about you." Mione cooed. "It isn't safe out there."
I nodded. "Which is why I am going to a safe house... I'm fine and will be fine. You all need to calm down. When it happens and someone comes after me you will have to live with it. My life has always been cursed with bad luck and I learn to accept and deal with it." They still looked like they didn't want to end the conversation there. I sighed and picked up my bag. "Did you want to have a sleepover in your dorm tonight Mione?"
She nodded. "Yes."
I nodded. "I'll catch you after dinner is over." I stood out of the seat. "I'm going to sit with someone who will let me be about my own life." I walked over to the Slytherin table and to Draco.
Draco looked shocked to see me. "It's not dessert time."
I shrugged and sat down. "My table rather talk about how I shouldn't be expelled and how it isn't safe out there when I just want to have a peaceful meal." I put some food on my plate.
"Where do you plan on going?" Draco pushed around his food.
"No where you need to know." Draco looked at me, I sighed. "Somewhere safe, I'll be safe." I pushed around my food. (I'll be fine.)
"Solace." Draco nudged me, I looked at him. "I know we haven't been close through the years but I can tell when you aren't fine."
(I'm fine. I'm fine. I am strong.)"I'm fine, Draco."
Draco looked at me sadly. "Alright. I'm here if, you know..."
I smiled softly. "Thank you." Draco nodded. "You aren't that bad." Draco raised a brow, I looked to my food. "I mean you do have some positive parts of you. Passed the characteristics you got from your father you are an amazing person."
Draco huffed. "Thanks."
I nudged him. "I mean it... I can see beyond the facade you have in place. I like what I see, I just wish you would show that part of you more."
Draco's next line was interrupted by Pansy who has a smirk on her face. "Are you finally leaving?"
"Shut it, Pansy." Draco scowled, Pansy frowned. "Leave." My mouth gaped.
Pansy huffed. "Fine." She stood up and stormed away.
"Don't say anything." Draco grumbled.
I smiled. "That was amazing. All these years and you wait till now to do that?" I play pushed him, Draco smiled. "As soon as I leave you have to courage, you are a git."
"It wasn't that bad."
"For you." I huffed. "You crave attention, I don't. Especially not when it comes with jealous stares."
"I don't-." I gave him a bored expression. "Whatever." He grumbled and looked down at his food.
I smiled softly. "You know..." My brows furrowed. "Never mind."
"What."
"I'm just... tired, I dont know."
"Have you slept?" I nodded. "Solace..."
I smiled. "I'm fine Draco."(I'm fine.)
Draco frowned but let me be. "Are you spending the night with Granger?" I nodded. "Don't have to much fun."
I smiled a little. "I think... I dont know. We might just go to sleep when we get there... I dont know. I think I mentally exhausted myself today."
(Im fine. We aren't going down this road again. I'm fine, I'm strong, I'm resilient.) I took a deep breath.
The food switched to dessert. "Lighten up, Solace." Draco grabbed a cupcake and unwrapped it for me. "Here." He held it out to me.
I smiled softly and took it. "Thank you." Draco nodded, I stared at the cupcake. "You want to know why I love cupcakes so much?"
"Because they are sweet."
I shook my head. "When I was 6, that's when I first ran away from..." I ripped the cupcake in half. "The most kindest and honest old lady found me and took me to her home. I called her Tulips because she had garden boxes of them.... She always, always, had a homemade cupcakes and always gave me as many as I wanted... From that point, every time I wanted to get away I simply ran to find her home, thankfully the foster system keeps you in close proximity when moving you."
"Do you know where she is?"
I smiled sadly and nodded. "Turns out that Grandma Tulips house was a bakery and when I was 10, she, um..." I sighed. "God, I sound like some cry baby." I wiped the frosting off the top and ate it. "I'm fine.... I learned to live with my problems instead of running away." I bit into the cupcake.
Draco fiddled with the bracelet secretly. "You must have been a chubby kid." He tried to brighten the mood.
I nudged him. "Meany." We smiled. "But her cupcakes were delicious. I have yet to find a cupcake that taste's the same."
"Is the bakery still open?"
I looked off in thought. "It's been 6 years since she passed. I think she had a kid but I don't know if they were connected to the bakery enough to keep it open... I also have no idea what the name is."
"Well.. I guess to find it you have to run away again." I rolled my eyes, Draco handed me a clean napkin. "You have-." He pointed to the corner of his mouth."
I took the napkin and wiped my mouth. "Thanks." He nodded. "You know I think you are the only person who realizes how much I like cupcakes."
Draco shrugged. "It's not hard to notice when you reach for one every time they appear." He shrugged like it means nothing.
"Well you must be more observant then everyone else then."
-----------. . . ------Last night Mione and I stayed up a little then went to sleep.I am in a state of sleep and tired depression, I've had it multiple times, I can't be strong all the time, no one can. I'm fine though, I'll get through it like I get through everything.
Now it was at breakfast the next morning, wondering who in the Order would pick me up since the only people I knew were...Sirius and the Weasleys, maybe...I actually don't know who is in the Order.
All of my friends from all different houses came to say goodbye to me, some even chose to sit and eat breakfast which means the Gryffindor table was a mix of houses today.
"Are you leaving immediately after?" Mione asked.
I shrugged. "I was just told that someone would be here after breakfast to take me. I don't even know who." I looked at the Weasleys. "You guys have any idea?" They all shook their heads, I nodded.
Umbridge walked over. "All of you need to go back to your house tables."
"Shut up, Umbridge." I huffed. Everyone went wide eyed while some smirked.
Umbridge smiled more. "Excuse me?"
"You are excused." I waved. "Bye."
"Miss Solace, just because you are expelled doesn't-."
What." I raised a brow. "What else can you do to me? You have no power over me because I don't care what you do you old hag."
Umbridges lip fumbled in anger. "All of you... Back to your tables... Now." She stormed off.
"Blyme, Liv." Ron breathed. "I might be more scared of you then her."
I flicked my brows up. "You haven't seen anything." Ron's eye grew, I smiled.
Snape walked up the pathway between tables and eyes everyone around me then looked at me. "When you are finished your escort is waiting at the front doors."
I nodded. "Thank you." Snape nodded, eyed the students, then left. "I guess that is my cue." I wiped my mouth off. "I'll see you all some other time." I stood up. "Tweedles." They looked at me. "Give her hell."
They saluted. ""Yes, Professor Solace.""
I rolled my eyes. "Twins." They table chuckled. "Later."
"Bye." "See you." "Be careful." "Later, Liv."
I smiled softly and walked away with my bag of clothes towards the exit before I stopped and looked to the Slytherin table where two grey eyes were looking at me.
I waved, Draco nodded, I gave a smile and walked out.
