Early End to Fifth Year

I walked down the corridors, down the steps to the the dungeon stairs then down to Snapes office where I knocked. "Severus?" I didn't hear shuffling or any noise, I knocked again. "Snape?"

"Miss Solace?" I turned around to Snape with a box perched on his hip. "I heard a club was found in a secret room this afternoon." He raised a brow.

I smiled innocently. "I need to speak to you about more current events." Snapes other brow rose. "Please."

"Go in." I opened the door and moved in, Snape walked in and shut the door. "Talk." He walked to his brewing table with the box.

"Dumbledore disappeared with Fawkes in a blaze of fire. And now Umbridge is Headmistress."

Snapes eyes closed and took a breath. "I suppose that is not all." He opened his eyes and looked at me.

"I am also expelled." I smiled softly. "I have to be gone by tomorrow afternoon." Snape continued to empty out the small chest of ingredients. "What are you brewing?"

"Don't change the conversation." Snape closed the empty box and moved it out of the way. "I was hoping you wouldn't do anything foolish for your own safety. But now you have jeopardized yourself." He turned to me with saddened eyes. "Do you understand. Hogwarts is the safest place for you. If I send you back home then they will certainly come to get you."

I frowned. "They were always going to get me one way or another. I've excepted the facts, that's how I live, I accept and live with it." Snape sighed and turned away from me in thought. "I'm not going to walk into a room of Death Eaters, but I'm also not going to hide away and wait for them to attack."

"That is exactly what you should be doing though." He turned back to me. "Do you seriously have no care for your own life?"

"I do, I care but if it is inevitable that my life is to be one with Death Eaters why would I run and hide when I could prepare and act? You taught me to defend myself. You gave me advice for how to handle them. You taught me Occlumency. I prepared, you prepared me."

"Preparing and doing are two different things, Solace."

(He cares to much. He doesn't need to care about me. I'm fine, I am strong.)I huffed. "Stop caring about me, you don't have to care. Can't you go back to Mr. Reaper? I can do this alone Snape, I have and can, I'm not weak."

"I know you aren't weak, stubborn as hell, but I know how strong you are. I taught you, I know your potential but that doesn't mean I wish you to be brought into my world."

"It's inevitable."

"It can be delayed."

"Why delay when I can just get it over with?"

"Why lock your door instead of taking the inevitable beating?"

I huffed. "This isn't the same."

"No, it's worse." Snape exasperated. "This is no muggle beating... We have spells that cause immense pain, spells that can kill you with a single movement."

I sighed. "What do you want me to do then? If your home isn't safe then what will you have me do?"

Snape sighed. "As much as it annoys me you will go to Sirius Blacks home." I smiled. "Don't look so glad."

I rolled my eyes. "Alright, Mr. 20 year grudge holder." Snape rolled his eyes, I smiled softly. "So, how do you expect to get me there?"

"I'll have someone from the Order come and escort you."

I raised a brow. "What am I the fucking Princess?"

"Language, Miss Solace." Snape warned, I smiled. "It is only precautionary."

I nodded. "Alright... I should go pack." I stood up from my normal leather seat. "You better not find a new best friend and student in my absence."

Snape rolled his eyes. "I'm pleased to say your character could never be matched."

"That can go either way."

Snape rolled his eyes. "Go and pack. Just because you are no longer a student doesn't mean you can do what you want."

"Awe. You mean I can't throw a goodbye party?" Snape gave me a bored expression, I smiled. "I promise I will leave the misbehaving to the Weasley twins."

Snape rolled his eyes and turned to his brewing station. "Go pack, tomorrow after breakfast someone will come to take you."

I nodded. "Thank you for everything, Severus." He nodded, I backed to the door. "Don't blow up the school." I smiled and walked out the door.

I went to the entrance of the Slytherin common room and said the password, when I got in Draco jumped off the couch. "Solace."

I walked to the opposite couch and sat down. "I hope your thirst for getting Harry in trouble is clenched." I crossed my arms.

Draco sat back down. "I told you to stop, I warned you." He huffed. "You should have listened or tried to hide your secret room better."

I smiled softly. "Thank you for the warning but you know how I am."

Draco rolled his eyes. "Yea, I know exactly how you are." I shrugged, Draco sat up and leaned his elbows on his knees. "What happened?.. When you left with the Minister."

I sighed and fiddled with my fingers. "Fudge was being paranoid. Umbridge is now Headmistress and I am expelled." Draco's eyes widened. "I leave tomorrow after breakfast."

"What, no, you can't- I'll tell my father to talk to the Minister. My father has connections."

"He also has connections to Death Eaters and if they find out I have left the safety of Hogwarts they might see the opportunity to take me."

Draco looked down at his fingers as they fiddled with his bracelet. "I'm sorry, Solace."

I sighed and sat up. "I don't hate you if that is what you are afraid of." He looked back up at me. "I knew at some point we would get caught. And I know you weren't targeting me. I forgive you, Draco for your childish game you play to best Harry."

Draco nodded and smirked. "Potter finally got caught after all these years."

I rolled my eyes. "Did it feel good?" Draco nodded, I shook my head. "Next thing you know you two will be dating."

Draco's face scrunched. "Excuse me? Potter? A male? Who do you think I am?"

I smiled. "You seem to always think about him, whether it be plotting or just trying to catch him in an act."

Draco huffed. "That doesn't mean I like him. A boy, you have to be kidding me."

I chuckled under my breath. "I'm kidding, Draco." He rolled his eyes. "I have to go pack." Draco frowned. "We can talk during dinner."

Draco leaned back in the seat. "You want to eat with me still?

I shrugged and stood up. "I'll come to you for a cupcake." Draco scoffed, I smiled. "I have to tell my friends what is happening then I'll come have dessert with you, alright."

Draco nodded. "If you want." I gave him a bored expression, he sighed. "I would like that."

I smiled. "Good, I'll see you then." Draco nodded.

I gave a smile then walked to the girls corridor and towards my chambers where I hope Pansy isn't. When I got there my wish was granted so I started to pack my trunk with all my belongings in peace.. . .

I was dressed in normal clothes. My Hogwarts attire in my trunk. A pair of pajamas and a change of clothes were put in a bag which I hung on my shoulder as I walked out of my room and through the common room to the corridors.

"Solace." Draco walked fast to my side.

I stopped and looked to him as he came to my side. "Why do you call me by my last name?" Draco shrugged, I rolled my eyes and continued walking. "If we are going to be friends I think you should learn my name."

Draco looked at my bag. "What's that for?"

"I was going to ask Mione if I could have a last night sleepover in her dorm." I shrugged.

Draco scoffed. "You two are like a couple." I hit his chest, he chuckled slightly. "You and Granger are always together. You even lived with her for four years."

"We are like sisters. She's my best friend and she was always there for me and I for her. She was my first real friend and..."(When will I see her again after this?)

"Catching feelings?" Draco scoffed.

I rolled my eyes. "No, just wondering when I'd see her again when I leave." We made it to the Great Hall. "I'll come over when I'm done with the meal."

Draco nodded and walked to the table.
