part 12
01:44, 21 June 20217:19pm; that same night...
"I don't understand what he wants, he's just so confusing!" You complained as Hoseok sighed while rolling his eyes, listening to you complain to him. "I mean, who does he even think he is? Does he really think that he has so much control over me?" You scoffed while crossing your arms over your chest as you stared up at the ceiling. For the past thirty minutes you've been venting to Hoseok about how Taehyung took your phone away from you. You were angry and frustrated that when Hoseok asked you about what happened, the pent up anger in you just popped out. You began venting and ranting your feelings to him and you felt bad because he knew that Hoseok was already tired of you saying the same things over and over again. You groaned and shoved your face into your pillow as Hoseok looked over to you. "Why do you even care so much about him?" He asked. "Do you like him or something?" Just hearing Hoseok's words made you freeze; you sat up and looked at him with blushed cheeks. "Of course not!" You denied. "I-I don't like him! I can't..." Hoseok chuckled before eyeing you suspiciously, making you quiet and your loudness turn silent. "Y/n, you can be honest with me. If you don't want me to tell him, then I won't." Hoseok softly spoke which helped calm your rapidly beating heart. You let out a shaky breath and lied back down on your back, your body resting on top of the mattress. You couldn't figure out your feelings but you felt that maybe talking it out would help you. "I don't know. He makes me feel some type of way that I've never felt with anyone else— or any other guys I've met!" Sighing, you rested your hand on your forehead as you remembered the hurt expression on Taehyung's face when you left him this morning. You regretted making him angry but you couldn't help it since you were angry too. "I just... never felt this way about someone before." You rubbed your temple with your finger to try to calm the pounding headache you've received just thinking about it all until you saw Hoseok shift his body to look at you. He smirked slightly while raising an eyebrow toward you. "You want to know what I think?" He asked. You looked over and nodded your head. "Well," he spoke. "I think you two are just afraid of being honest with your feelings. You said that you've never felt this way toward someone before and ironically, Taehyung hasn't either." You tilted your head. "What do you mean?" Hoseok smiled and shrugged his shoulders. "Taehyung doesn't have much experience with girls since he's been surrounded by us for his whole life. I'm sure he's feeling the exact same as you are,"Hoseok explained. "He's just worried about you and he wants to protect you. By the way he's been acting around you, we all know that he's in love with you." His words brought warmth to your cheeks, your face overflowing with shades of red and pink. You opened your mouth to deny his claim, to deny his reasoning, but Hoseok spoke before you could even let a sound come out from your lips. "Trust me y/n," he smiled. "I've known him for many years and it's not so hard to read through him." You glanced to the side and smiled to yourself, feeling your heart become all fluttery again. Relief flushed through your body and love flowed into your heart. Hoseok chuckled at the grin growing on your face but his eyebrows raised when he heard the front door open— more like break down. His heart stopped when he heard an unfamiliar voice speak and his mind went blank when he saw a gun point at him.
8:59pm
Taehyung got out of the car and made his way toward the back where the equipment was loaded. He shoved the phone into his pocket and opened up the back of the truck, grabbing any kind of weapon he could fit into his jacket although he was already loaded with a lot of stuff to be protected. He was in a panic but he tried not to show it— all he could think about was you and your safety. He heard footsteps coming toward him and sighed in relief when he saw Jimin instead of some murderer. "Everything okay back here?" Jimin asked but Taehyung shook his head. He didn't want to lie— he couldn't lie. After all, who knows what that girl could do to them in a matter of minutes. "Look, it's a long story but that girl," Taehyung said and looked around before whispering. "She wants us dead." Jimin furrowed his eyebrows, obviously confused. "What are you talking about?" He asked and Taehyung felt the urge to answer but he just couldn't. "Dude, I don't have time to explain right now but you've got to trust me." he said and hoped that Jimin wouldn't press any further questions and just leave the conversation at that. Fortunately, Jimin only nodded his head and looked over to the road to see another car pulling up besides them. It slowed down which caused the six boys to look over and see three other young guys coming out from the vehicle. "You guys need some help?" One of them asked as they walked closer to the group that was surrounded by the broken down car. Taehyung watched them carefully and didn't think much of them until something caught his eye; he saw one of the guys hiding a hand behind his back and tuck his hand under his jacket. His eyes widened when he recognized the one swift move he'd train so hard to master when he was younger. And after that, the shots were being fired. Taehyung and Jimin quickly hid behind the car as the others did the same, not expecting such an usual attack. Taehyung turned and loaded his gun before pointing his arm out and shooting at the way of the three guys who seemed to be running back towards their own car but someone else was running with them. "The girl!" Taehyung yelled to his other mates. "The girl is working with them!" The six boys heard the tires screech against the concrete as the three strangers along with the girl zoomed their way off leaving the six boys stranded on the side of the road. "See?! I fucking knew something was up with her!" Taehyung yelled as he shoved his gun back into jacket and groaned roughly as he gripped his hair with his hand in frustration. "Calm down, what's going on?" Yoongi asked and before he could ask anymore questions, Taehyung reached into his pocket and tossed the girl's phone he had forgotten about into Yoongi's hands. The messages were still bright on the screen which Yoongi's eyes couldn't help but scan over. "Y/n showed me the same exact messages this morning," Taehyung said with exaggeration and desperation tangled in his voice. "The girl was threatening y/n and she's obviously a spy for whoever is actually after her." Yoongi sighed and tossed the phone back to Taehyung who swiftly caught the device and shoved it into his back pocket. Yoongi had seemed deep in thought but his thoughts were interrupted when Taehyung said, "We need to get back to the cabin. Now." Jungkook replied, "How? Our car broke down and we have no other transportation." Namjoon thought before speaking, "I have a plan."
9:16pm
The six boys rushed their way back to the cabin with Taehyung and Jimin riding on motorcycles and the rest of the boys riding in a helicopter that Namjoon had set up from parents. Taehyung led the way mighty and strong as he was the most worried about you; the other boys were worried as well but Taehyung was fearful at the thought of you getting hurt. His speed increased when he saw the cabin grow closer but it wasn't normal; big ball of flames flew into the air and the smell of smoke filled his nostrils. He pressed on his break when he got closer to the fire filled cabin and hopped off from the bike, wanting to go in to search for you and finally hug you but his heart didn't want to believe what his mind was telling him. "Hoseok!" He yelled as he heard Jimin's motorcycle finally reach where he was but he was too focused on the fire that continuously grew and towered over his body that seemed so tiny. He looked to the door to see a familiar body stumbling out from the inflamed house as he coughed from the smoke. Taehyung ran over when he saw Hoseok limp away from the flames and fall onto his knees, struggling to breathe. Taehyung quickly bent down to his level and lifted Hoseok's arm up and around his shoulders as Taehyung wrapped his arm around Hoseok's waist. He lifted him up as Jimin quickly ran over to assist and drag Hoseok far away from the flaming house. "What happened?" Taehyung yelled over the crackling fumes. "T-they..." Hoseok muttered, tears brimming in his eyes. "They took her..." Taehyung felt his chest tighten at his words and couldn't find any words to speak or respond to him. "I'm sorry Taehyung, there were just so many of them-" "It's okay," Taehyung said. He knew it wasn't okay and he was feeling the opposite from okay but he couldn't bring himself to blame Hoseok since he wasn't the one at fault. He looked back toward the house and stared at the bright yellow and orange flames; the fire had seemed to be the only light in the dark night.
