Chapter One: No Lone Wolves

Ozpin's POV:

It's a beautiful day in Vale, the sky's are clear and this semester just might be a good one I thought to myself as me and Gylnda looked outside to see Ironwood and his military airships here.

Goodwitch: "Ironwood certainly loves to bring his work everywhere he travels." She said obviously annoyed.

Me: "Well..running an academy and a military makes him a busy man, but yea those are a bit of an eyesore." I said about the airships till I heard a beeping st my desk.

Me: "Come in." I said as the elevator opened revealing General Ironwood himself.

Ironwood: "Ozpin." He said walking in.

Me: "Hello, General." I said formally.

Ironwood: "Please drop the formalities, it been so long." He said as we shook hands.

Ironwood: "And Gylnda it's certainly been so long since we last met." He said smiling.

Goodwitch: "Oh James...Ill be outside." She said clearly not liking his presence here.

Ironwood: "She hasn't changed a bit."

Me: "So..What in the world brings you all the way from Atlas? Headmasters don't usually travel with their students to the Vytal Fesatval." I told him pouring a cup of coffee for him as I sat on my desk.

Ironwood: "Well you know how much I love Vale this time of year." He said taking out flask and adding it to his coffee.

Ironwood: "Besides with you hosting i think this would be a good oppertunity to catch up." He said.

Me: " I can certainly appreciate quality time between friends, however the small fleet outside my window has me some what concerned." I said pouring myself a cup of coffee.

Ironwood: "Well...Concern is what brought them here." He said.

Me: "I understand travel between kingdoms has become increasingly difficult-"

Ironwood: "Oz, you and I both know why I brought those men." He said a bit serious.

I sipped my cup and then sighed deeply.

Me: "We are in a time of peace, shows of powers like this, is just going to give off the wrong impression." I explained to him.

Ironwood: "But if what Qrow said is true-"

Me: "If what Qrow said is true, then we'll handle it tactifuly." I reassured him.

Me: "It's the Vytal Fesatval, a time to celebrate unity and peace, so I suggest you not scaring people by transporting hundreds of soldiers halfway across the continent." I told him seriously.

Ironwood: "I'm just being cautious." He explained.

Me: "As am i, which is why we'll continue to train the best Huntsmen and Huntresses we can." I said.

Ironwood: "Believe me I am.." He said walking away and stopping halfway.

Ironwood: "But ask yourself this..Do you honestly believe your children can win a war?" He asked me as he left on the elevator.

Me: "I hope they never have to.." I said to myself.

(Meanwhile in Beacon's Library)(Y/n)'s POV:

The whole gang was at the library.My team were playing Remnant the board game and Team JNPR were sitting behind them, Nora was napping on a book, while the rest were studying, me on the other hand, I was reading which me and Blake enjoyed doing together but lately she's been distracted and quite distant ever since we fought my "Dad" almost seem like see was upset, likely wondering why the White Fang was working with him if they want to wipe out humanity.

Ren: "Whatcha reading about (y/n)?" Ren asked me while they all looked at me interested.

(Y/n): "Norse mythology?" I said showing them the book I randomly picked out a week ago and started reading it wasn't bad but it just had crazy hard words to say but cool myths and folklore about Gods, Goddesses, etc.

Yang: "What's that?" She asked.

(Y/n): "Honestly I'm not sure, it's just an old book about forgotten old myths and folklore, probably of the past or stuff I don't know, but it's about Gods and Goddesses and monsters which is crazy cool." I said mesmerized.

Weiss: "Sounds kind of Childish." She said looking at her cards like she didn't know what they said.

(Y/n): "For someone with the best grades in Doctor Oobleck's history class you honestly are a killjoy to all historians and myth lovers." I said with a deadpin expression.

Weiss: "Hey!"

Yang: "What's got you interested about that book?" Yang asked moving pieces around as Ruby started acting sad cuz she was losing in the game.

(Y/n): "Well most of it is hard to understand because it's religious and stuff, but there's this God And other things on here that got my attention." I said looking at the book with a serious thinking expression.

Ren: "What is it?" He asked as they all stopped playing and looked at me.

(Y/n): "Well there's this God on here, he fights with a hammer, like me and Nora, and he uses lighting, he's Thor  the God of lighting." I said as I showed them a picture of Thor.

(Y/n): "But what really got my attention is this, there's a group of female warriors who choose who lives or dies in battle and guess what their called!" I said wide eyed and super surprised.

Everyone: "What?" They all asked.

(Y/n): "Valkyries." I said as they all looked surprised and I showed them a picture.

Nora: "THAT'S. SO. AWESOME!" My sister yelled waking up and taking the book and seeing everything about Valkyries.

Nora: "Pyrrah you look like you could be a Valkyrie." She said getting behind Pyrrah and handing her the book.

Pyrrah: "Their Armor does look quite similar to mine." She said looking through the book, my team continued on with their game, and my sister went right back to sleep quickly suddenly Pyrrah got up and gave me back the book and she pointed something one.

Pyrrah: "Do you think a place like that could have ever existed here in Remnant?" She said as I saw a picture of what looked like a representation of  hell to me.

(Y/n): "Is that hell?" I asked her but she nodded no.

Pyrrah: "The book says it's a Forge that was named Nidavellir, which is a place that was for these individuals called Dwarfs, apparently they created one here on Remnant before going back to their world, but no one ever found it, it's a myth."  She explained.

(Y/n): "So they made armor and weapons there? Neat!" I said as I looked up and saw Jaune try to play with my team but it was a four player game only which is why I'm not playing.

Jaune: "Bring it on ice queen I'll have you know ive been told im a natural born leader." He said proudly.

Weiss: "By who your mother?" She asked sarcastically.

Jaune: "And Pyrrah! Oh! and (y/n) too." He added.

Pyrrah: "Hello again!" Pyrrah chipped in.

(Y/n): "I regret nothing." I added still ready my book.

Jaune: "Come on let me play your hand for a turn." He begged.

Weiss: "I'm not trusting you with the good people of Vacuo!" She said meanly.

Jaune: "Why Not? You've trusted me in way more important stuff before, I mean you told all of us that Blake was secretly a fau-" suddenly Pyrrah stopped him.

Pyrrah: "FUN loving person whom we all admire and respect." She said as Blake gave an annoyed expression.

Jaune: "Right...that..Ladies enjoy your battle." he said bowing respectfully making me chuckle suddenly we had a visit.

Sun: "Sup losers and (y/n)." Sun said coming out of no where And giving us the peace sign.

Ruby: "Hi Sun."

(Y/n): "How come im not a loser too?" I asked him.

Sun: "Cuz your crazy strong and it kind of intimidates me." He said a little too honest.

(Y/n): "It's not like I'm going to hurt you Sun but enough said." I said carrying on with my book.

Sun: "Anyway Ruby, Yang, Blake...Ice queen." He said happily.

Weiss: "Why does everyone keep calling me that!?"

(Y/n): "Honestly It goes with you." I said as she threw a game piece at me but I caught it.

Sun: "I never got the chance to formally introduce you all to my old friend." He said pointing to Neptune.

Neptune: "Aren't liberties for reading?" He said.

Ren: "Thank you!" Ren shouted.

Nora: "Pancakes!" Nora said waking up again from her quick nap.

Sun: "Shut up don't be a nerd." He said to Neptune.

Neptune: "upupup! Intellectual okay thank you." He said to Sun correcting him.

Neptune: "I'm Neptune." He reintroduced.

Weiss: "So Neptune where are you from?" She asked with a suspiciously curious but smooth tone.

Neptune: "Haven..And I dont believe i caught your name snow angel." He said in a flirty tone as Jaune shouted "Are you kidding me!?" In frustration in the back, as I patted his back.

Weiss: "I'm Weiss." She introduced herself.

Neptune: "Pleasure to met you." He said.

(Y/n): "You can do way better Sugar bear." I whispered to Jaune pulling his ear.

Jaune: "um I'm flattered (y/n), but im not into guys." He whispered back as I gave him a deadpin expression and slapped him upside the head.

Jaune: "Ow!" He said rubbing his head.

(Y/n): "First of all, I'M NOT EITHER! And secondly I meant what I said." I said as I tilted my head at Pyrrah basically telling him to look at her.

Jaune: "Um thanks pal?" He said confused, as I faceplated.

Sun: "I didn't take you as the board game playing type." He said to Blake.

Blake: "Right...i think I'm done playing actually, I'll see you guys later." She said walking away.

Nora: "Women." My sister said as everyone looked at her, for once I just nodded it as not funny, oh Blake the White Fang days still haunt you don't they...

Blake's POV:

I still couldn't help think of why the White Fang and Roman were working together, when I was in the white fang  thinks were so different we never accept much less appreciated help from humans, but ever since I left it just changed completely.

(FLASHBACK)

Ozpin: "Well this has certainly been an eventful evening. He said coming in the interrogation room.

Blake: "Hm.." Was all I said coming out of my trance.

Ozpin: "I'm sure after a night of thwarting attempted robbery you probably just want to home home and take a nap, but I was hoping maybe we could have a chance to talk." He said sitting down in front of me.

Blake: "Of course."

Ozpin: "Wonderful! As you know in order to enroll in my academy students must first pass a rigorous entrance exam. Most applicates spent years of  preparation training at one of the many combat schools around the world, you are one of the few who didn't, but you passed the exam with flying colors." He said sounding impressed.

Blake: "I rasied outside the kingdoms, if you can't fight you can't survive." I explained.

Ozpin: "Well you have most certainly survived Blake, I admire your drive, and I'm proud to run a school that accepts all individuals from all walks of life, Rich, Poor, Human...Faunus." He said as I gave him a sort of glare.

Ozpin: "Why do you wear that bow Blake? Why hide who you are?" He asked me.

Blake: "You maybe willing to accept the Faunus professor Ozpin , but your species does not." I said a bit angered.

Ozpin: "True...But we are continuing to take strides to lessen the divide." He said.

Blake: "With all due respect, you need to start taking larger strides...until then I rather avoid any unnecessary attention, I want people to see me for who I am not what I am." I explained.

Ozpin: "And who are you?" He asked confusing me.

Blake: "I don't understand what your asking me." I said.

Ozpin: "How did you know the White Fang would be at the shipyard last night?" He asked.

Blake: "I didn't.. I just happened to be at the right place at the right time." I said trying to sound convincing.

Ozpin: "Well you wouldn't have been the first, but what happened tonight was not an isolated incident, I maybe your headmaster but I am also a Huntsmen and it is my sworn duty to protect this world from the forces that conspire to it. Blake..are you sure there is nothing else you'd like to tell me?" He asked me with a deadpinned expression, I thought about it but truth be told I didn't really trust anyone well there is one, but he's still has a bunch to learn and experience before he's dragged into this, not that I want to, but he's strong and stubborn that he might just want to do it despite my refusal of needing his help.

Blake: "I'm sure." I lied.

Ozpin: "Very well, thank you for your time Ms.  Belladonna." He said getting up to leave before he stopped.

Ozpin: "If you ever need to talk me...please don't hesitate to ask."

(END FLASHBACK)

(Y/n): "You know, you have a pack right." (Y/n) said standing at the door way.

Blake: "I'm sorry what?" I asked him.

(Y/n): "A pack, you know a team, squad, family, etc." He said.

Blake: "I'm still confused." I told him.

(Y/n): *Sighs* "Blake....I dont know what your thinking but I know it's about the White Fang and Torchwick isn't it?" He said as I looked away.

Blake: "Never should have gotten you into reading, now you can read me too hmm." I said trying to joke but he didn't even change his expression, he walked up to me and sat on Weiss' bed.

(Y/n): "Nah it's pretty obvious..to me at least." He said giving me that smile that makes my day a bit better.

(Y/n): "But no, in all seriousness,  Blake, I know that's what's bothering you, and ever since that day you've been distant and just not yourself, and you keep setting off this "Lone wolf" Vibe and honestly it's not nessacery." He said with a concerned face.

Blake: "I know your trying to help but your being a hypocrite, every time there's a fight you always try to go at it alone like; when you fought the nevermore at initiation, when you tried to fight Cardin-"

(Y/n): "Your wrong. The only reason I won against that nevermore was because Yang gave me that boost when she threw me at it, which you also caught me when I was falling, and I yes I did try to face Cardin and his dumb team alone in the cafeteria but I didn't, no one but Ren and Jaune know this but me and them also fought team CRDL in the bathroom on my birthday that's why we went to bed late, so I am no hypocrite!" He said standing up and waking over to stand in front of me looking me in the eyes the entire time, he keeled down and grabbed my hands, pretty sure I was blushing red a bit.

(Y/n): "Blake...You and I are opposites, were like wolves, I know I know your a cat and a cute one no doubt." He said smiling nervously while I blushed more because of his comment.

(Y/n): "What I mean is, your a wolf who had a pack once, the White Fang in a way they were your family, but after they turned to violence you left now your a lone wolf looking for a new pack and hoping to save your old one." He explained, I couldn't help but feel honestly very happy inside that he understood all this quite well.

(Y/n): "And me? I'm a wolf who's always had someone there with him always, but I want to gain the feeling of what it is like to be a lone wolf even if the others say it's dangerous." He said as I carried on listening.

(Y/n): "However It goes back to us, we have a pack Blake, our team, Jaune's team and we may be wolves and strong ones no doubt, we can win fights alone, battles even! But we can never win a war alone and war is always looking for us, but as long as we have a pack to watch our backs when war finally does find us, we can win, remember that Blake, the strength of the wolf is the pack and strength of the pack is the wolf." He said smiling proudly, I couldn't help it, I got up and kissed him much to both of our surprise.

(Y/n): "B-Blake why'd you do that?" He asked blushing very red.

Blake: "I couldn't help it, you just know what to say." I told him as he started to walk around confused.

(Y/n): "Oh man what I'm I doing I have a girlfriend!" He said nervously.

Blake: "Dont worry about it, Yang told Ruby she kissed you." He turned around wide eyed.

(Y/n): "WHAT!" He shouted freaked out.

Blake: "Relaxe she was fine with it, she said she didn't mind sharing." I said to him as he looked like he blew a fuse and was blushing redder than a tomato.

(Y/n): "N-n-no that's not okay! Ruby doesn't get dating at all!" He said.

Blake: "Jeez most guys would be thrilled about this you know." I said.

(Y/n): "Well I've never really been in a relationship! This is all new to me what am I doing!?" He shouted grabbing his head and looking panicky.

Blake: "Look just relax okay." I said before the girls came in.

Yang: "Ugh we should have never let him play!" Yang said coming in first.

Ruby: "Your just mad cuz the new guy beat you, if you had attacked like I told you none of this would have happened." She said calming her sister down, I smiled at (y/n) before walking out but before I could touch the doorknob Weiss said "Stop." Which I did.

Weiss: "Lately you've been quiet, anti-social, and moody." She said to me.

Yang: "Have you met Blake?" She added.

(Y/n): "Yang. Not now." He said as all of us turned to him, a bit surprised.

(Y/n): "Weiss before you start demanding things...let her talk first." He said seriously as he turned to me, leaned on the wall next to the door and motioned me to talk.

Blake: *Sighs deeply* "Okay...i just...i dont understand all of you can be so calm." I explained.

Ruby: "Your still thinking of Torchwick?" Ruby asked spot on.

Blake: "Yes! Torchwick, the White Fang, all of it! Something big is happening and no one is doing anything about it!" I said finally letting it all out.

Yang: "Ozpin told us not to worry about it, between the police and Huntsmen, I'm sure they can handle it." I was about to shout that I don't think they can (y/n) spoke out.

(Y/n): "Not alone." He said standing straight.

Weiss: "What do you mean?" She asked taking the words out of my mouth.

(Y/n): "Look, I'm  pretty sure,  I'm with Blake on this when I say they can't handle it, as it is they have their hands full, and nowadays with barely have any Huntsmen in Vale so let's investigate ourselves." He said as I stood next to him feeling even more happy, I could kiss him again but that would make this more awkward especially in this situation.

Weiss: "Okay between blowing up nightclubs, stopping thieves, fighting for freedom, and...whatever you do." She said pointing at (y/n).

Weiss: "I'm sure the four of you think your ready to go out there and apprehend those never-do-wells, but once again let me be the voice of reason, were students, were not ready to be  handle these type of situations." She said.

Ruby: "Well yeah but-"

Weiss: "We're not ready!" She shouted.

Once again I was going to shout a counter argument but like always "Mr. I-always-know-what-to-say" spoke up once again, Monty Bless his soul.

(Y/n): "Weiss..No one ever truly is ready for anything, sometimes things just have to happen, our enemies are out there planning, THEY are preparing,  it's not just Grimm anymore and honestly it never was, so it doesn't matter if WE'RE ready or not, what matters is brining the fight to them with what we've got and bring it we will so are you in or out!" He shouted at Weiss who was kind of in shock.

Weiss: "When did you get so...leaderish?" She asked.

(Y/n): "Since let me sleep with you." He said as she blushed really red.

Ruby: "Okay! All in favor of becoming the youngest Huntresses AND Huntsmen extraordinaires to single-handly bring down a corrupt organization conspiring  against the kingdom of Vale...say "aye". She said.

(Y/n): "AYE!" (Y/n) shouted proudly.

Yang: "Yes! I love it when your feisty!" Yang said to (Y/n).

Weiss: "Well it could be fun I suppose." She said.

Ruby: "None of you but (y/n) said aye!" Ruby said as she hugged (y/n) And kissed his cheek.

Blake: "Alright then we're in this together."  I said hapily as I looked at (y/n) And I mouthed "Thank You" he just smiled at me and winked.

Ruby: "Lets hatch a plan!" She said.

(Y/n)/Yang: "Hell yeah!" Yang and (y/n) said together.

Ruby: *Gasps!* "I left my board game in the library! (Y/n) come with me!" She said as she pulled (Y/n) with her.

Weiss: "We're doomed." She said shaking her head.

Ruby: "We'll be right back!" She shouted leaving with (y/n).

(Y/n)'s POV:

Ruby zoomed us out of the room but we ended up bumping into people, Ruby got knocked on her butt by this girl, while the guy who I ran into got knocked on his butt.

Ruby: "Sorry are you okay?" As I helped her up

Murcury: "Dude watch where you going dipshit!" The guy I bumped into said angry

Emerald: "Calm down it was an accident Murcury." The green haired girl said helping the guy up.

(Y/n): "Sorry about that man, no hard feelings right?" I said hopfully not trying to get into a fight.

Murcury: "whatever." He said taking my hand into a handshake, but it was weird it kind of felt like he was trying to squeeze my hand hard, but it wasn't working that's if he was actually trying, I let go after that and he looked quite surprised.

Ruby: "Hi I'm Ruby and this is my boyfriend (Y/n), are you guys new?" She asked them when a blacked haired girl came from behind them.

Cinder: "Visiting from Haven actually." She said as she stopped to take a good look at me and for a second I felt something...off staring into her yellowish amber eyes, I felt this feeling once before, when a certain Grimm attacked the place we met Ren at, the feeling was one of...Rivary.

Ruby: "Ooooooh you must be here for the festival, but exchange students have their own dormitory." Ruby explained to them.

Murcury: "I guess we got turned around." The guy I bumped into said.

Ruby: "Dont worry happens all the time, your building is just easy of here." Ruby explained as the green haired girl and gray haired guy passed us but I don't know if I was just seeing thing but it kind of looked like they gave me angered expressions.

Cinder: "Thanks...maybe... we'll see YOU around." She said exaggerating the "you" and she stared into my eyes the whole time walking away.

Ruby: "Yeah maybe, oh! And welcome to beacon!" Ruby said as she grabbed my sleeve and dragged me away.

Ruby: "Lets get that game!" She said as I looked back only to see Cinder to looking at me but this time she gave me an almost angered looking expression too, I shrugged it off and went with Ruby.

Cinder's POV:

So that was him hmm interesting.

Emerald: "Was that him? That kid you said gave you that feeling?" Emerald asked me curiously.

Me: "I believe so.." I said trailing off.

Murcury: "Well he's pretty strong I'll give him that, I tried to sqeeze his hand and break it but his hand wouldn't budge." Murcury said massaging his hand.

Emerald: "Are you sure you don't want us to kill him?" Emerald asked again giving me a serious look.

Me: "No, if this feeling of mine is right, I want to as much information on him as I can get and I want him observed in combat, also I want to know who else is associated with him, friends, family, etc. Befriend him if you have to i just want everything on him." I said sounding a bit more serious than I wanted and I haven't even realised I lost my grin from earlier now its a frown, I'm I...Afraid? No, I shake my head and put my smirk on again, if he is the threat I think he is, he'll just be an another obstacle to get out of the way and if he proves formidable then I'll be the perfect test subject after I get what I want.
