Chapter 14: One more obstacle!

[Chapter 12 Flashback:"Wednesday After school 5pm, don't miss it. Also, don't tell Manami"]

Morning 6.35AM

Wednesday had finally rolled around and Karma was prepared. He was sitting on the bed clenching his fist hard thinking of crushing Asano's pretty face. 

"Karma? You seem a little off..." Okuda commented looking concerned looking to his hands and placed her small hand gently on top

He released the tension and held her hand instead "Manami...I, Can I..." he didn't want to look at her directly.

"Karma?" Okuda's voice filled with worry. 

"Today, Can you come home alone?" Okuda was shocked to hear that from Karma. Since moving in Okuda never came home alone without him by her side.  

"Um..." she didn't want  to sound rude or annoying but she didn't know how to respond and so endured the aching in her heart and nodded her head. 

Karma sensed her hurt and felt guilty. But this was for her and he needed to prove it.

 "I'll be back before you know it sweetheart" he ran his finger through her head calmly.

[7.15AM]They got to school in silence and separated into their friendship groups like usual. 

"Omg Okuda-san...Karma is staring at you" The group whispered to her 

"Okuda-san?" "OKUDA-SAN" Kayano shouted loudly; everyone stopped their conversations to look their way for a second. 

Okuda snapped out of her daydream state and returned to their conversation hoping to catch up "Sorry, what was it you wanted to say?" she said embarrassed 

"Karma is totally staring you out" Kanzaki and the others covered Okuda so Karma only saw the other girls's backs.

"Is he stalking you?" "Keeping you hostage?" "Have you really lost your virginity to him?" "You're 15 for god's sake" 

Okuda was overwhelmed by the explicit questions "No no no. I'm still a virgin (not my eyes though) and i'm not being kept hostage. I really like Karma" Okuda admitted 

"awwwwww this is seriously so cute" Kayano squealed in excitement

"I mean you told us your feelings when we were in Kyoto,but I never thought you'd be a real thing. It's surprising because we didn't think Karma was your type you know? I hope your not offended I just wanted to say" Nakamura confessed to Okuda

"No I understand. I thought we weren't a match in the beginning. But I...I learnt a lot from being with Karma and I appreciate him giving me his love and time" She said before blushing considering the cheesiness of it and covered her face"

"Okuda-san you're so cute!  I'm totally fall for your cuteness Okuda" Nakamura hugged Okuda and leaned her head across her shoulder "Who need men! Your so soft Okuda" 

Karma and his group surrounding him overheard the loud outburst and laughed teasing Karma 

"Ooo Karma, Seems like you got competition" "Sweet they would be a hot couple" "Okuda is too cute and innocent for Karma"

Nakamura faced them and winked, adding to the continuos teasing aimed at Karma, he wasn't particularly phased but glared angrily when seeing Okuda blush after she touched her

************Lunchtime    1.14PM**************

Karma approached the girls who were having lunch in two joint tables. 

All the girls looked over at Okuda who was blushing. Before she could ask anything Kama with a serious face and tone asked "Can I talk to Nakamura? It's important!" He stressed 

"What, Are you challenging me for Okuda? it's on bro"  Nakamura smiled not knowing he's more occupied with another annoyance trine steal his girlfriend. 

 "You wish, she's my girlfriend. I need to ask a favour" 

"Only if you give Okuda on Saturday" Nakamura protested

Karma rolled his eyes " Come with me" Karma started walking outside the classroom to the grass ground usually used for p.e. 

"What do you want?" Nakamura asked curiously following him to the field.

"Take Okuda out today...After school, go cinema and dinner, but you must go immediately after school! That's my one request" 

Nakamura was confused but thought about it "Karma, why do you want me to take her out huh? Aren't you that type of stalker boyfriend whose really protective?" 

"I'm doing this to protect her...don't ask anymore. Here, some money...Have a blast" Karma left and threw 50 dollars worth of money behind him. 

"What are you going to do?" Nakamura asked 

"Oh nothing special, maybe kill Asano? That would be fun" he turned to look at her, his eyes filling with blood lust 

" What, you can't do that? Karma!"

He turned back and walked waving his hand in the air to her.

********Classroom  1.26PM*********

Nakamura entered still looking bewildered but returned to her seat where all the girls were looking at her and Okuda twice as curious.

 "What did he say to you? I mean if you don't mind sharing." She felt like it might be personal or something 

"Oh he just wants me to take you out tonight Okuda he he ...dunno why but I promise we will have a good time." Nakamura smiled "I've been meaning to watch Thor with someone!" 

"Oh right, I want to see that too" Okuda said but she was secretly suspicious, what were they not telling her?

After school  4.10PM - 50 minutes till fight...

Nakamura and Okuda were the last two people in the classroom when everyone had left. 

Nakamura was spouting on about how cutting Thor's hair was a mistake while Okuda's mind wandered off 

"hey..HEY Okuda! you ok?"

she first looked bewildered as if she didn't know where she was and then answered truthfully 

"I'm scared. What if Karma is about to do something stupid without telling me" Okuda  bit her bottom lip anxiously 

"Hey I think I should tell you something too Okuda." Nakamura was also somewhat concerned and carried on 

" well I asked him why he was doing it and he said it was something to do with protecting you. He also mentioned killing Asano. I don't know if he was serious but that was pretty weird" 

Okuda stood up in a concerned realization "Oh my god...Karma and Asano are gonna fight!" 

Nakamura only then had she realized the same thing and the lightheartedness  atmosphere stopped " Omg they are gonna kill each other!"

"Karma..." Okuda cried out in distress  'Why is he doing this' she thought. 

Okuda tugged onto Nakamura and they rushed quickly down the hill to the main building's front gate. 

4.20PM - 40 minutes to fight

"Do you think they're here?" Nakamura was confused 

"Yes, they fought here once before, just behind the school." tears started to form in her eyes with confusion, anger and the thought of seeing Karma injured.

They entered the main building with caution - they weren't meant to be near here except assemblies and so was wary of people around them. 

When they reached the alleyway of the prestigious schools behind, their breathing slowed yet their hearts were still thumping rapidly at the anticipation. 

Nakamura was in front, on the lookout and ready to protect Okuda if anything happened or if the scene was too horrific for her to see.  The back of the school was as intimidating as the front gate - it arched over you and was eerily dark and cynical. 

Okuda recalled the place Asano pinned her was in the next left corner and after a tense minutes wait, Nakamura strained her neck over and gasped. 

Okuda jolted suddenly and felt her heart skip a beat 'Oh no, Is Karma ok?' 

She took a deep breath and took a step forward to venture to what Nakamura had to see

.................Nothing. 

4.30PM - Half an hour till fight.

Karma and Asano were not there! 

"What the......" Nakamura she murmured 

"Where are they?" they stared at each other with confusing and worrying expressions...the longer they stood there the more they felt that Karma was in danger. But they had no way of knowing where they could be, which was more agonising. 

Will they be able to find Karma in time?
