Chapter 6: Paint the walls Red

Classroom early morning

The two had now settled in their seats, Karma at the very back and with Okuda in sight, his glare penetrated to the back of her spine which gave her the creeps. 

"Hey Karma, cut that out you pervert!" She twisted her neck behind her to see him right behind her.

"Ah!" She was frightened by the sudden closeness that she balanced off her chair, luckily Karma catches her from behind and the legs of the chair were stable again

"This is why you need me Manami, What would you do without me?"

Live a normal life maybe? Well since Koro-sensei was brought into our lives nothing was normal... Okuda had a blank face

"Many things!" She replied cheekily sticking her tongue out at him

"Well aren't you so confident now Manami" he smirked liking her confidence. 

He was right, Okuda with realization, being around Karma 24/7 made her confident and openly sarcastic with him.

Suddenly the door slid open...

Two girls had calmly opened the door chatting away. It was Kanzaki and Kayano

They didn't think that anyone would be in the form room so early and did not make contact with them until Kanzaki spotted Karma's red cherry head

"Kanami is Karma and Okuda's true ship name , come on" "KAYANO-CHAN!"

"What's with the shouting in the morning eh?"

Kayano tried to signal to stop when she nudged her in the arm.

"Ouch that hurt Kanzaki what was that for?"

She looked around the room to see the couple looking at her with furrowed eyes.

"Oh I didn't see you there, Ohayo Okuda-San, Ohayo Karma-San" she said sheepishly feeling dumb she didn't see them

"Ohayo" okuda replied a little nervous because they saw her alone with Karma. 

"You're here pretty early?" Karma asked a little annoyed he didn't have more time alone with okuda.

"Just thought we should you know revise more so we do well in the next mid term exams ya know" Kayano lied calmly rubbing her head.

"Okuda-San we need to talk to you a little bit do you mind coming with us?"

Without any time for her reply, they took one arm each and shoved her out the door with them and carried her away outside the grounds into the sheds behind the wooden building where they keep the p.e supplies.

"Okuda-San please listen to us,we are grateful you followed us here..."

'Well you dragged me here but' she thought as a sweat dropped "we need to ask..." Kanzaki and Kayano looked at each other in excitement

"Is there something going on between Karma and you?" Kayano un-patiently squealed

"Kayano-chan don't shout" kanzaki nudged her again only lighter than before.

Okuda's face was flushed with embarrassment and she knew they would never stop talking if they knew about her staying with him!

They both stared at her and her reaction "Okuda-San ?" They were waiting for her response yet Kayano had a feeling and smirked.

"Yes I knew it!! Manami babies!" Kayano waved her arms triumphantly

"Kayano-chan we agreed that's not their ship name!"

"I want to be the god mother to all the babies okay, and make sure you have a lot; Japan needs the next generation you know!" Kayano was talking frantically.

"Woah, slow down Kayano-chan, Me and Karma are just..." Manami ushered her to stop but could not respond to their now questioning eyes.

"Hm? You two are just what?" The two creepily said in unison

"friends with benefits?" Kayano suggested in a shocked expression

Okuda froze and her whole face was now the a darker shade of red than Karma's hair.

Suddenly Karma wrapped his arm around her chest from behind which startled the 3 girls.

"Karma!" Kanzaki shouted

"Did you hear that Manami? It looks like more people know of our little shenanigans, should I describe further?" Asking Kayano and Kanzaki with a smirk on his face.

"Please elaborate further or so end my life!" Kayano impatiently waiting for the juicy info; eyes filling with stars.

"Karma stop messing around" Okuda said in defence

"What? Like we did all night" Karma replied wittily

Gasps from the two girls in shock

"Karma stop this!" Okuda struggling to move from his tight grasp

"I love it when you scream my name Manami Please do it again"

Kayano was still pleading Karma for details but Okuda gave up and stopped struggling.

"Karma let go!" She said calmly

Karma looked at Okuda to see tears filling her eyes and he released her realising he had gone to far and hurt her feelings.

She now had her back to Karma and the girls "Please don't follow me! I need some time" and she ran off into the forest.

The girls also felt guilty, asking too many questions and pressuring her.

Kayano punched Karma's arm "If you really were together then you shouldn't have been an asshole Karma! Lets apologise to Okuda-san when she gets back"

They all went back to the classroom, worried about Okuda and whether she would even come back to class.

The door slid open and many of the boys walked in to the silent room

"Oh hey guys" ishida said awkwardly

Nagisa was one of them and saw Kayano "Ohio Kayano, you look kinda on edge are you feeling okay?"

"Huh" only now seeing Nagisa

"Hey Nagisa, Um have any of you seen Okuda-san maybe?" Kayano asked worriedly 

"Um no I haven't seen her" now concerned "What? has something happened to her?"

"Never mind"

"Karma do you know where she is" looking at Karma who had a serious expression

"If only"

The door slid open again with Okuda, her eyes puffy and red looking down

Karma, Kanzaki, Nagisa and Kayano stood up

"Okuda-san don't leave me worried like that" Kayano swinging her arms around her shoulders tears streaming down her face.

"Ah sorry Kayano-chan"

"No I'm sorry for provoking you" Karma was in front of Okuda

"How could I promise to protect you if I made you cry and make you run away all alone" his tone was in pain and face guilty

The classroom was silent, and class e was curious, why is Karma apologising to Okuda?

"Karma" okuda said calmly

"I don't deserve to be your boyfriend yet anything to you" he kneeled down

"You can do anything to me for revenge, anything" 

he then felt a shooting pain in his private regions and he fell to the floor, He was holding back from a squeal and veins was popping out from his forehead.

In the moment Okuda had kicked him... In the balls...pretty hard.

She was flustered still and a little angry but just sat to her seat and laid her head  on the table signalling everyone to leave her alone.

The boys in the room swarmed to Karma 

" wow dude" 

" is there something going on between you and Okuda-San?" 

"She just kicked ass" 

"well your balls to be precise but, didn't know she could do that!"

Usually in fighting situations Karma far exceeds and 

Terasaka went to Okuda's desk and she looked up to see his usual face

Until it turned puppy and he was on the ground kneeling to her desk " please teach me how you did that, I want Karma at my mercy!"

Karma finally got up and punched Terasaka in the stomach "In your dreams" 

"You happy now Manami?" Karma asked

Okuda ignored Karma and faced opposite to him, her movements sharp. 

"Dude" terasaka said tutting 

"Shud'up" hitting terasaka in the stomach again; making him fall to the hard wooden floor.

More and more people filled the room and the classroom was filled with noise 

"Ni hihihi Ohio class e" Korosensei entered through the door, Karasuma-sensei followed 

"Remember we have assembly today, so we won't have physical training today" Karasuma stated in a serious deep tone. 

The day was the usual with Korosensei self tutoring everyone for the upcoming midterms, everyone was concentrated except Karma who was full on glaring at Okuda waiting for her response. 

Okuda tried to ignore it and wrote a lot of notes down, always keeping her back to Karma. 

After class, The class on their way to Assembly

Karma was next to Okuda yet she was silent and didn't talk to him, and he was also silent feeling guilty and also his balls hurt his body and his pride. 

The school grounds were empty seeming as all the others in the year had already made their way into the giant sports hall. 

Class e entered silently as the many judgmental eyes of the entirety of year 3 students, whispers into each others ears made the hall filled with noise. 

"Silence!" The class president of class A shouted his orange hair swaying as he pushes it out the way

Gakushū Asano was his name and he was the son of the head-master and chairman of the school. 

Intelligent and brilliant looks, a narcissist who gets what he wants and his rival Karma himself. 

They had a staring competition and no-one was backing down, the intensity rose. 

The teacher had made the usual announcements, making awfully bias jokes against Class e and dismissing the assembly with good luck on the mid-terms and that class e will need it.

After assembly, the day is usually over and done with, people swarming out of the gates to get back to their homes. 

Karma and Nagisa were last in the line of class e, Karma had his sights set on Okuda and to apologise properly by taking her to Yukihira's Diner or something she mentioned. 

"I don't know dude, you've done some pretty bad crap" 

"She doesn't hold grudges for long I hope" Karma gulped thinking of how hard she kicked him in the nuts. 

He was searching the crowd now "Hey where did Okuda go?" 

"Hm? She was here a minute ago" Nagisa twisted his neck, his toes on it's tips 

They now were sliding in the crowd of students looking for the purple head, girls were whispering and discussing in their circle 

"Where's Asano-kun?" 

"Did you see him?"  

Karma went behind the main school building where bullies would hang around, although they were afraid of Karma because of his violent behaviour when he was still in the main campus. 

Asano was smiling, talking to a girl perhaps, Karma didn't bother seeing more

Karma was going to go back to Nagisa, not wanting to disturb this conversation but stopped when he heard a squealing voice. 

He ran to the corner, not being seen he saw Asano pinned girl's hands above and against the cold brick wall. 

His smile was evil and he was obviously happy that he was dominant against her 

"Stop Asano-kun" the girl squealed 

"Come on you can't resist me, Manami-kun"

Karma's eyes were stone and his bloodlust gave an aura of wild animal seeing his prey, instinct took over. 

Within a blink, Karma was next to Asano and punched his side with his foot it pushed Asano to the floor.

"Only I can call her Manami!" Karma said standing over, his dark shadow loomed over Asano

"Manami, don't tell me he's boyfriend?" Asano said scowling 

"I've really wanted a punching bag for a while now" about to kick his stomach again, however Asano stood up 

"too bad, I need to get revenge on you, because you stole my woman" Asano replied seriously and he went into a fighting stance.

"Let's go b*tch" Karma said 

"Karma" Manami murmured in concern which made Asano grit his teeth tightly in madness

"Why do you feel anything for this jerk Manami?" Asano barked

She was scared and didn't want a fight between the two since she knew the hatred between them was deeper than the Mariana Trench (The deepest place in The Pacific Ocean); and no-one was going to give up this opportunity to show who was the alpha male of Kunugigaoka. 

Asano was first to strike and he did with his fists aiming for Karma's chest, however it is blocked by Karma's arm and he tries to kick him in the shin, Asano's fast reaction time help him jump to safety a few metres back 

"Oh you scared? The reason Manami is mine is because she doesn't go for pussies like you" 

"You know what? Someone said We were alike! Can you believe that? To be compared to a scum like you was the lowest anyone could call me; yet we do share something!... Our love for Okuda Manami"

Okuda's face was unreadable 'What did he say?' she thought 

Asano walked over to Okuda, suddenly holding her jaw softly "Soon you will be mine Manami-kun" looking at Karma smug written on his face. 

She was unresponsive and her mind blank 

Karma looked ready to kill him, his bloodlust rising. 

"However I must go. This war will continue..." Asano then walked out to the alleyway 

"You think you can get away that easily! I haven't finished with you!" Karma shouted back 

"Unfortunately, I have a life! No time to deal with such bull-crap like you, Bye Manami" giving a wink and hands in his pockets leaves the scene. 

"That bastard" Karma's vein's were throbbing out of his head 

Okuda saw his bloodlust and wrapped her arm around his open tight fist 

"Let's go home Karma, I'm alright... really" giving a warm smile to try calm him 

He walked off in a fast pace, Okuda had to run a little to catch up. However he did calm down a bit

Outside the main campus

Nagisa was waiting worried  "Hey finally found Manami-san, hm are you ok Karma-kun?" 

"Whatever" he replied, his fist purple from holding it too long. 

"Karma would you like to get something to eat?" Okuda said to try distract him 

"Yh whatever" he said sharply 

"Or do you want to go back home?" 

"I DON'T CARE! DO WHATEVER YOU WANT!" He shouted at Okuda to which she flinched and defensively covered herself with her arms. 

Karma finally snapped out of his bloodlust, his eyes now apologetic to her 

"ah sorry, i didn't mean that" he said bluntly not looking at her 

"It's ok, I was just took by surprise" she said shyly

Nagisa intervened "did something happen?" 

"Nothing!" Karma quickly said "Lets just go to the convenient store and go home" he started to walk away and Nagisa and Okuda followed behind at some distance. 

The convenient store opposite Karma's apartment 

Karma was in an aisle by himself and picking out ingredients for dinner 

Nagisa was concerned "Okuda-san, if theres something wrong you can tell me?" 

Okuda was spacing out and looking at her shoes "hm?" 

"Did something happen...between you?" 

"Ah no, well kinda but not right now" okuda was stuttering, not knowing how to answer properly or what to say 

'I just saw Asano go out of that very direction!' Nagisa thought concerned

"If you need to get anything off your chest tell me ok?" Nagisa said with a smile to comfort her 

"uh ok" she nodded along 

"I need to go home now. My mothers making dinner, say bye to Karma for me" Nagisa was in rush as waiting for them outside the campus took a lot of time. "See you tomorrow" he waved outside, now running. 

Okuda made her way into the aisle where she saw Karma have a staring contest with the pea pods/pea bags. 

"Nagisa went home, guess it's just us for dinner" she commented 

"Ok, fried rice for two it is" Karma looked at her with a faint smile which caused her to blush a little, with everything happening today; she felt happy Karma was like... her Karma again. 

At Karma's Apartment 7.00pm 

Karma and Okuda was around the table, eating hot fried rice Karma made which was delicious but the room was silent and they didn't make eye contact. She didn't know what to say to him after todays events unfolding.

After, The two were already ready for bed, however as Okuda made her way to the bedroom Karma went into the living room alone; turning on the tv instead of being with her. 

Okuda went into the bathroom to brush her teeth and let her twin braids loose for the night, feeling a little lonely without Karma being his perverted self. She missed it actually because it felt even awkwarder without this side of him.

She went under the covers herself and was cold in the king size bed, she was recalling the fight the most out the day and the words thrown around between them.

Asano- kun confessed to her, He also confessed for Karma and that they both wanted her. 

Okuda had gotten two boys which are considered the hottest and brightest in the school on their knees, she never thought of herself as a player. 

She was hiding her face under the covers  'Feelings for me'. Steam could be seen escaping her head from being flustered. 

'Karma and Asano-kun are too much alike that it's scary, thats why they repel each other like magnets' she thought.  Her feelings however, were always revolving around Karma. 

Surprisingly Karma entered the bedroom. Watching too much One punch man in one sitting is not healthy!

He rubbed his tired eyes and after getting ready in the ensuite; opened the large blanket in one fellow swoop, uncovering Okuda hidden under there. 

"Manami you're still awake!" Karma surprised 

"uh... yeah I can't seem to sleep" Okuda was avoiding his gaze 

"Uh Well good night" 

"Good night" Karma said as he made his way to his spot and in an uncommon sleeping position for him.

His back was to Manami and his face away facing his nightstand, he was not able to sleep unknown to him why. 

She also felt awkward as he was silent and gave her so much space. However she quickly fell asleep.

"Hey, Wait up Karm..."

A horn beeps out and Okuda turns to see a large truck moving towards her

"Oi lady get outta the road" He yelled but he didn't stop the vehicle but Neither was Okuda moving.

She was frozen on the road, not moving a muscle

Karma alarmed by the noise looks over to Okuda standing in the street as the truck is fastly moving towards her

"MANAMI!" Karma drops his bag and sprints to her but the truck moved past in a blink of an eye just as he was about to grab her.

 "I will protect you Manami, I'll always be by your side so you don't have to worry anymore"

"Is there something going on between Karma and you?" 

"Did you hear that Manami? It looks like more people know of our little shenanigans, should I describe further?" 

"Karma stop messing around" Okuda said in defence

"yet we do share something!... Our love for Okuda Manami" 'What did he say?' 

"Soon you will be mine Manami-kun"

Okuda woke up, her breathing heavy like she was holding it underwater for too long 

She was sweating like mad and her eyes wide open 

"It was just a dream!?" she gulped in disbelief 

Karma was awake anyway and turned to see her sitting up right, trembling and breathing heavily 

"Manami..." He sat up too "Are you ok?" 

"It was just a dream" Okuda said and turned to Karma tears streaming down her eyes 

Karma froze. He never had to deal with a crying girl before. 

"Uh... do you want some water?"  

"Uh... (sniffle) ok"  

Okuda made her way to the ensuite and in her mirror her red puffed eyed reflection; she washed her face as she heard Karma enter the bedroom with a glass of water.

After drying her face she grabbed the glass of cold water and quickly guzzled it down 

"You didn't have to drink it like that Manami" a sweat dropped off, Karma smiled awkwardly 

They were both sitting at the side of the bed 

"It's refreshing that way" Manami argued 

"You're so cute Manami" He said smiling sweetly but without realising.

Okuda felt her heart was racing fast again it could win the grand nationals ( horse racing in the u.k) 

She had something on her mind, If she didn't tell it now she was afraid of never asking Karma. 

"Is... uh.. it true?" Okuda awkwardly asked stuttering 

"What do you mean Manami? What is true?" Karma's eyebrows raised as he see's her flustered 

"I know you don't like Asano-kun"

"What about him!?" his tone was sharp 

"Uh... What he said... Was it...true?" She asked quietly 

~~Flashback~~

"You know what? Someone said We were alike! Can you believe that? To be compared to a scum like you was the lowest anyone could call me; yet we do share something!... Our love for Okuda Manami"

Karma looked down his arms on his knees, hair covering his orange eyes 

His tone serious and deep he replied "Yes" 

His eyes glare directed sharply at Manami "Yes" again 

She didn't know how to respond

 'I like you too Karma' 'I want to become closer to you' 'You've made me felt feelings i never expressed before' 'Love...' 

However she couldn't talk and they had a few moments of silence looking deeply into each others eyes. 

"Don't leave me...Karma" That was all she could let out and a tear rolled down her face

"Why are you crying Manami" Karma concerned 

"You baka" Okuda grabbed his left hand and placed it on her tear filled cheeks 

"I'm happy" she smiled  

Karma wiped the tears off her small framed face and now both his large hands around her jaw...

Karma leaned closer to her and Okuda closed her eyes, she was trying to mentally prepare for what she think will happen.

Karma reached closer that she could sense his warm breathing from his nose on her right cheek.

 He kissed her cheek, much to Okuda's surprise and she opened her eyes again to see a smiling Karma "Oyasumi (good night) and sweet dreams he whispered in her ear.

She felt embarrassed the she was preparing for...a kiss  but She saw Karma roll his way to his side of the bed and stretch his arms a last time. 

"Karma" Okuda said at the side of the bed still 

"I don't want anymore nightmares!" 

"Ok?" 

"Can i sleep close to you" she asked like she was in defeat 

"Need some late night touching do we?" Karma remarked  

"It doesn't matter..." 

"I was only joking, come here Manami, I want to embrace you" 

she made her way to his side of the bed "Don't say such embarrassing things Karma" blushing harder 

Karma quickly put one of his long legs in-between hers and his arms around her waist, his wide shoulders meant Okuda had a resting place for her head. They relaxed into the position and Okuda finally found a comfortable position- in karma's arms. 

They both, were hot and bothered at first as it was quite awkward but soon the found their eyes shutting and their consciousness slipping into peaceful sleep.

Now arise a problematic love rival Asano, can Karma keep Manami under wraps from him, even with their affectionate pasts.

I chose this to be a long one because I wanted to add Asano to the love triangle.
