New Friends Ch. 18

Serena's POV

We sat down and waited to order our food. Mallow came out and greeted us. Then she took our orders and left to the kitchen without another word.

"So why are you guys here?" Hannah asked.

"Me, Dawn, May, and Drew came here for a vacation. After I became a Top Coordinator, we just wanted to relax. Never thought that I'd see Ash over here though," I explained.

Crystal and Hannah both nodded.

"I'm here because me and my mom had to give Principle Oak some pokemon eggs from his cousin, Professor Oak. After that I just stayed here and my mom just went back home to Kanto. I also started attending the Pokemon School," Ash said.

"Oh right. We're both going to the Pokemon School here on MeleMele Island," I added with a nod.

"You do!? That's great! We were thinking about attending there too!" Crystal exclaimed happily.

Hannah nodded.

"We might be classmates!" Ash said while grinning.

Suddenly, the kitchen door opened and Mallow came out with several plates of food. As soon as she set the plates down on table, both Ash and Crystal stuck their heads in their food and began making gross eating noises.

"Eww! Gross Crystal!" Hannah exclaimed while making a disgusted face.

"But I'm hungry!" Crystal replied while picking up her food covered head.

I let out a small chuckle.

"Here you guys go," I said as I gave Crystal and Ash some napkins.

"Thank you," They both said as they wiped their faces off.

As we ate, we talked a lot and got to know each other better. When we finished, we paid and left the restaurant.

"Hey! I have an idea, why don't we go have a battle?" Ash suggested.

"That sounds like a good idea. I haven't had a battle with anyone other than Crystal in a while," Hannah said.

"Yeah, that sounds great!" I said.

We went to the Pokemon Center, got our pokemon all healed up, and then went to my the battlefield.

"How about a tag team battle? Me and Hannah verses you two guys?" Crystal said.

We all nodded.

"Sounds good," Ash said.

We went over to our respective areas.

I grabbed my pokemon's pokeball and threw it.

"Take the stage Delphox!" I called.

"I choose you Lycanroc!" Ash called.

"Let's go Sylveon!" Crystal said.

"Come on out Leafeon!" Hannah said.

All of our pokemon appeared on the battlefield. I looked over at Hannah and Crystal's pokemon. They both had evolutions of Eevee. But something caught my eye. I knew what Sylveon looked like for sure. I have one. Sylveon have pink fur, but I've never seen one with blue fur! Sparkles twinkled around Crystal's Sylveon.

"Woah! Is that a shiny pokemon?" Ash asked while gasping.

"Yup! Sylveon here was my first pokemon!" Crystal said happily as her Sylveon said her name in agreement.

"Hey Ash, what's a shiny pokemon?" I asked.

"A shiny pokemon is a pokemon with different coloring than their normal kind. They're really rare, but the only difference is their color, not stats," Ash explained.

"Ohh..." I muttered.

"Alright, let's start! We'll go first! Leafeon, use Razor Leaf!" Hannah shouted.

Leafeon let out a cry and sharp leaves flew towards Delphox and Lycanroc.

"Use Protect!" I shouted.

Delphox waved her stick and a light blue shield appeared in front of both her and Lycanroc. The Razor Leaf hit the Protect and bounced off of it.

"Lycanroc, use Rock Throw!" Ash called.

Sharp rocks flew out of Lycanroc's mane and towards both Evolution pokemon. Both pokemon didn't react fast enough and were hit.

"Sylveon, Dazzling Gleam!" Crystal said.

Sylveon started glowing and a sudden bright light came from her. Delphox and Lycanroc didn't close their eyes in time.

"Quickly! Use Iron Tail!" Hannah shouted.

"You too Sylveon! Use Iron Tail!" Crystal called.

Both pokemon ran up to the our dazed pokemon. Their tails started glowing and they jumped into the air. When they came back down, Sylveon's tail crashed into Delphox and Leafeon's hit Lycanroc.

Delphox and Lycanroc were knocked back. They both had surprised looks on their faces.

"Lycanroc, use Accelerock!" Ash shouted.

"Follow it up with Psychic Delphox!" I shouted.

Both pokemon did as they were told. Lycanroc took off towards both of the Evolution pokemon and hit them both. They were knocked back a few feet. Delphox then had a blue aura appear around her. Blue auras suddenly appeared around Sylveon and Leafeon and they were lifted up onto the air. A few seconds later they were roughly thrown onto the floor and a cloud of dirt surrounded them. (Sorry if "roughly thrown onto the floor" sounds too harsh, but that's basically what Psychic is.)

"Leafeon/Sylveon!" Both Hannah and Crystal shouted worriedly.

The dust cleared and revealed two fainted pokemon.

Both Hannah and Crystal sighed. They took out their pokeballs and returned their pokemon.

"Great job Sylveon! Take a good rest," Crystal said as she kissed the pokeball.

"Nice work out there. You deserve a good rest," Hannah said as she put her pokeball away.

Me and Ash both thanked our pokemon and returned them as well.

"That was an amazing battle!" Crystal said as she ran towards us with her arms spread out like an airplane.

"Yeah, you guys did great. Congrats," Hannah said with a thumbs-up.

I smiled. "Thanks! You guys were great too!"

"I had a lot of fun!" Ash said while grinning. "I haven't battled in a while."

We went back into the Pokemon Center and waited for our pokemon to get healed. Crystal went off somewhere and Hannah followed her. Me and Ash we're sitting down waiting.

I suddenly remembered that I forgot to ask Ash something.

"Hey Ash?" I started.

"Yeah?"

"How come you didn't call me during my travels in Hoenn? I mean, you only called me once and that's it..." I said, trailing off.

"Oh... About that..." Ash muttered, scratching the back of his head. "There weren't any phones around. I would have called you but I couldn't find any phones..."

"But what about the Pokemon Center? You could've just called over there," I said.

"The Pokemon Centers here don't have phones. I don't know why though..." Ash said. He turned his head to look at me straight in the eyes. "Sorry..." He said sheepishly.

"It's fine Ash. I understand. But don't you have a PokeNav?" I asked.

"A poke what?" Ash asked.

"A PokeNav. You traveled through Hoenn, right? Don't you have one?" I asked again.

"No. Hmm... Oh! Max used to have one." Ash replied.

"Max? You mean May's younger brother? Hmm... Well, here," I said as I dug into my bag and pulled out a blue PokeNav. I gave it to him and took out a pink one.

"I bought two back in Hoenn, but I never wore them before. Since I have an extra, here," I said as I put the PokeNav around my wrist.

"PokeNavs have multiple uses, but I mainly use them for calling people and as a map," I explained.

"Cool!" Ash said as he wrapped the PokeNav around his wrist as well. "If I'd known about this sooner, I definitely would've called you." Ash said while grinning.

I was about to say something when I was cut off by the Pokemon Center chime. Me and Ash went over to get our pokeballs and saw Crystal and Hannah over there too.

After getting our pokemon we walked out of the Center. I noticed that both Crystal and Hannah had PokeNavs.

"You guys have PokeNavs too? Have you been to Hoenn?" I asked.

"We have. I'm originally from Alola and Crystal was from Kalos, but we both met in Hoenn and have been best friends ever since," Hannah said, smiling.

Crystal nodded happily next to her.

"Could I get both of your PokeNav numbers?" I asked.

"Of course!" They both said.

They gave me and Ash their numbers while we did the same, although I had to help Ash since he never had a PokeNav until now.

"Do you guys want to come to my cabin that I share with the others tomorrow? We could just hang out," I suggested.

"Sure!" Ash said excitedly. "I wanna spend more time with the others!"

"Mmm! (Sounds like that way anime characters say yes, just nod and say "Mmm!") I think that'd be great!" Crystal said as she turned to Hannah. "What do you think?"

Hannah nodded. "I don't see why not. Just give us the address and we'll see you both tomorrow!"

I gave all three of them my address (Ash too since he didn't know where we lived yet). We said goodbye too each other and split up. Crystal and Hannah going on one direction and Ash and me in the other.

Alright! You guys might see more updates of this story soon since I'm thinking of finishing this fanfic before my other ones. I don't want to over stress myself with having to update all three of them at once. Anyways, thanks for reading! Please vote and comment and I'll see you all it the next update!
