Chapter 20: Ring on it?

(Maya’s Dream)

“Well, well, well, congrats on the ring!” Carter exclaimed. “I’m sorry I didn’t know it would upset you!” I cried. “I loved you first Maya! You were suppose to marry me!” Carter yelled. Next thing I knew both of us were standing in my old room. Carter started pulling our pictures off the walls through his tears he would scream a cuss word or two. “Why, Maya, why? Why did I do such a stupid thing? Why did I let myself hurt you?” He cried as he broke everything in sight. Fear ran through my body but soon we weren’t in my room anymore we were at his grave. “Soon you will marry Liam and I’ll be here like I have been. You will forget all about me and live your perfect little life. You’re memories of us will soon fade away and it will be like I have never existed!” Carter cried as he kicked his head stone.

“I will never forget you, Carter! I will always love you! No matter where life takes me I will never stop loving you! I was put on this earth to find you! You will always be my everything, trust me please.” I begged. He started to disappear and soon I was back at his funeral. I yelled for him, but no one could hear me. I saw myself hug his mom and tears streamed down both of our faces. I closed my eyes hoping I would be able to escape this, but I couldn’t. “Funny right?” Carter appeared and asked me. “What’s funny?”I asked him. I couldn’t take my eyes off myself. “Funny how you were carrying my baby and never told anyone, but then again that little bundle of joy didn’t get to see life did it?” He snapped.

I woke up with sweat streaming down my face. I shot up and looked around the room. I started to cry I slowly got out of bed so I didn’t wake up Liam. I grabbed my shoes and left the bedroom.  I couldn’t shake that dream and it scared me. It felt so real. I grabbed my car keys and rushed to the front door.

“Where are you off to?” Liam asked with a yawn as he came down the stairs. “I need to clear my head,” I told him as I shut the front door. “At 4 am you need to clear your head?” He asked me. I chose not to dart away from him. I knew what would happen if I chose to dart from him. He would get super angry and then he would tell me I’m running away from him again and he doesn’t know what he did to make me always run away from him, and that’s why I didn’t dart. We went to the living room I told him about the dream and about everything that happened with Bri.

“Have you talked to Bri since all this happened?” He asked me. “No, I avoided her text messages and calls,”  I told him. He gave me the look he always gave me when he was either disappointed in me or he didn’t agree with what I had done.  “Why would you do that?” He asked me bluntly. “She wasn’t even trying to be remotely nice she kept lecturing me so I just let it go,” I told him without making eye contact. “If you actually let it go, you wouldn’t be darting for the front door at 4 in the morning,” Liam told me as he rubbed my back. I sighed I know he was right.  

(Later that morning- Liam’s POV)

Liam- Hey mates! Come by the house around 6 for dinner. Maya will be cooking I promise.

Harry: I’ll be there for sure! I miss Maya…sorry Liam.

Louis: Wouldn’t miss it for the world!

Niall: Be there around 5:45 so I won’t be late!

Zayn: I’ll be there should I bring anything?

“Babe, do you want them to bring anything?” I asked Maya. She looked up from the turkey she was putting in the oven. “Oh, of course not,  just have them super hungry there will be a lot of food,” She laughed.

Liam: Just an empty stomach, Zayn!

I watched as Maya zipped around the kitchen getting everything ready. “Do you need any help?” I asked her. “No, I got this,” She assured me. “So it’s okay if I go for a run before I shower?” I asked her. “Yes, of course,” she giggled. “What’s so funny?” I asked as I picked her up around the waist. “Nothing,” She giggled more. “I’m not putting you on the ground until you tell me,” I promised her. “Just the way you said that,” she told me. “What about going for a run before I shower?” I asked her.  She just nodded. I slowly put her down so I knew she had her balance and she wouldn’t fall. I quickly kissed her and then went to for my run.

(Flashback)

“LIAM! SOPHIA! OVER HERE!”  The paps called out. “Don’t say anything, Soph, it will be okay,” I assured her. “Liam, we need to talk,” She told me when we got into the venue. “About what?” I asked her. “I think…we…I mean…look...it’s best…if…we just…,” she couldn’t manage to get a sentence out.  Even though she didn’t say a full sentence I knew what she was trying to say. “You want to break up?” I asked her. “Yeah, I think it’s for the best,” she sighed. “Why though?” I asked her. “Liam, I love you, but it’s getting so hard to see you even just to talk to you. Our schedules are completely different. Liam, we are better off as friends,” she said as she held back tears.

“Why did you come all this way then? Is there someone else?” I asked her. I set down on the couch and put my face into my hands. “Liam, don’t do this,” She begged. “Did you meet him at Uni?” I asked her. “Liam, please,” She begged. “Who is he?” I barked.

(End of Flashback)

(Flashback)

“LEE!!” Maya called from the other side of the hotel room. I laughed as I walked over to her. “Love, you know I’m like 10 feet away right?” I asked her. “Opps,” She laughed. “Did you need something?” I asked her.  “Yes, I did,” she told me with a nod. “Well, what do you need?” I asked as I looked into her beautiful eyes. “I need you forever,” She said with a smile. Her eyes met mine. “I need you too,” I whispered and then kissed her.

(End of flashback)

Memories were flooding through my brain.  I ran as fast as I could passing mansion after mansion. Of course this was a neighborhood full of Hollywood A-listers, but that didn’t seem weird to anyone who lived here.

Maya: Must be a long run…I miss you babe. XOXO

I looked at my watch I had been running longer then I thought. I quickly turned around and ran back towards our house.  When I got there Maya was watching TV. “Well, there you are,” She smiled as she walked over to me. “Usually I don’t like sweaty guys but it looks pretty hot on you,” She smirked. I smiled as I kissed her. “I missed you,” She said between kisses.

She soon pulled back before it got too heated. “You probably should go shower,” She said. I gave her a confused look. She didn’t say anything but she walked into the kitchen. “Okay, well I’m going to go clean up now,” I sighed.

(Maya’s POV)

I waited for Liam to shut the door before I fell to the kitchen floor in tears. I couldn’t tell him what had happened while he was out on his run. I probably should but I didn’t know how, and I didn’t want to ruin the moment that we tell his best friends about our engagement. I couldn’t tell him my best friend for as long as I could imagine said she wouldn’t be attending my wedding no matter how much I begged.

(Flashback)

Maya: Hey Bri…about yesterday…can we talk about it?

I have wanted to tell Bri about the engagement since the moment it had happened but I knew she was still being a diva when it first happened. So I decided since Liam was out for a while I would take time to try to figure things out. Soon my phone rang.

“Hello?” I said as I answered it.

“Well, look you finally decides to answer their phone…how is life like for little miss to good for everyone back here in Nebraska,” Bri snapped.

“What are you talking about Bri?” I asked her.

“You know you complain about dating one of the richest guys in the UK, but yet your life is so rough. Give me a break Maya, seriously,” she scolded.

“Bri, I was calling you tell you I’m sorry for how I acted yesterday. I know I should appreciate what I have.  I do trust me, I called for two things actually,” I told her.

“Well, hurry up with it, I don’t have much time,” She snapped.

“Liam and I are getting married,” I told her.

She laughed as hard as she possibly could. “That’s a joke right?” She asked me.

“No, and I was wondering if you would be my maid of honor?” I asked her.

“Oh gosh no. I don’t plan on attending that messed up wedding. Have a nice life Maya,” She called and then hung up the phone.

(End of flashback)

I looked up at the clock if I wanted dinner to be done when the guys got here I had to hurry. Liam soon entered the kitchen. “Why don’t I finish up here so you can go get ready,” He offered with a smile. I smiled at him and nodded. “Thank you,” I said. “Maya!” He called as was leaving the room. “Yes?” I turned around and asked. “I can’t wait until we say I do,” he told me. I smiled, “Me either,” I assured him. The thought of actually marrying Liam Payne had always been a dream of my mind but now it’s reality and it was scary. I was engaged for the second time and this time I feel like it’s the real deal. I didn’t know what life would be like it I had never went to the concert or if Liam didn’t spot me in the crowd at the concert.  My life would be different for sure, but I don’t have to think about that anymore.

*Hey guys so this has to be one of my favorite ones yet! I am typing chapters up for the past couple days as much because I will be out of town for the weekend or at least until Monday sometime and I won’t be able to post anything and I just finished chapter 24 and it’s my favorite!
