5x01: Double Down

***

The sunlight was beaming into Hunter Lopez's bedroom as she rolled over in her sleep as she dreamed about the kiss when the apartment door opens just like it did the night before only this time Hunter wakes up. "Yeah?" Hunter asked.

Hunter's bedroom door opened and Grant poked his head in, smirking. "Morning, come on we gotta get to work." Grant said.

"Uh, yep. Can you call Lexi? Tell her to start heading to school as they've started blocking off some of those streets around the courthouse." Hunter said, scratching her arm.

"Tim's already handled that, now come on." Grant then closed the door and Hunter laid back in her bed before getting out and getting changed.

***

Angela and Tim were walking outside the station on a sidewalk both in civvies. "You kissed Hunter?" Angela asked, smiling widely.

Tim shook his head. "No, no. No, Dim kissed Juicy, okay? Or Jake kissed Sava. Whatever. The -- The point is, we had to be comfortable going undercover, so we practiced being a couple. Given that the last time we dated was fifteen years ago." Tim deadpanned.

"How much did you practice?" Angela asked with a suggestive tone.

"It was just a kiss. Not that big of a deal." Tim said.

"Then why are we talking about it?" Angela asked.

Tim had to work fast, he needed to look for an answer. "Because what if it wasn't just a kiss for her?" Tim wondered.

"You think Hunter has feelings for you?" Angela asked.

"No." Tim said.

"Then she probably sees it how you do. Just a weird thing you had to do for work." Angela said, shrugging.

"Right." Tim agreed, well tried to agree.

Angela paused walking and faced her friend. "Timothy. Do you have feelings for Hunter?" She asked, eagerly.

"No. No," Tim's voice pitched up as he lied to Angela who smirked at him. "And Hunter is with Chris. And I'm her superior officer, so..." Tim trailed off, seeing as for all Tim was aware, Chris and Hunter were still dating.

"All true. Not what I asked," that's when Angela and Tim notice a shop pull up with Chief Coleman getting out. "What's the Chief doing here?" Angela asked.

***

Hunter and Grant were walking in the underground parking lot, talking. "Grant, that kiss was for work." Hunter said, lying to herself and Grant.

Grant looked at his friend. "Hunter, that wasn't for work and you know it." He said.

Hunter sighed, and rolled her eyes. "Yeah but he's dating Ashley and he's my superior." She said.

"And did that stop you hooking up with him in Iraq?" Grant asked looking at Hunter.

"True but he's still dating Ashley." Hunter said. Grant doesn't say anything as the two walked into the station with Grant heading to get changed while Hunter joins Angela and Tim.

***

In the briefing room, Angela and Tim were sitting at the end, Lucy was already in there at the front with other cops as well, Hunter noticed Angela's smug smirk, that's when Grey walked into the room with Coleman standing at the entrance of the room.

"All right, settle down and listen up. We got a big day ahead of us. The Rosalind Dyer trial is going to complicate all of our lives. But before that, Chief Coleman has some good news," Grey moved over and handed over to Coleman. "Chief."

"Thank you, Sergeant. I'm sure you're all aware of Officer Nolan's heroic stand down at the border which landed a dozen dangerous felons in custody," Nolan's head snapped up at the mention of his name. "In light of your courageous and exemplary service, I've decided to offer you any assignment in the LAPD. Any unit, any division, any position you want the department to train you for is yours," Coleman walked towards Nolan the two shook hands. "It's what we unofficially call the Golden Ticket."

"Thank you, Ma'am."

"It's a big decision. Don't rush it."

"I won't."

Coleman walked back to Grey. "Sergeant."

"Chief." Coleman walked out and Grey took over again.

Grant walked into the room. "What'd I miss?" He asked Hunter softly.

"Nolan got a Golden Ticket." Tim said.

"Wow."

"Congratulations, Officer Nolan." Grey said.

"Thank you, sir."

"I once said you'll never make detective. I happily stand corrected."

"Don't waste your ticket by becoming a detective, Nolan. You know how hard they have to work? Go with recruiting. You get paid to fly around the country and talk up the LAPD." Smitty said.

"Hey!" Angela and Hunter exclaimed at the same time, seeing as they were both Detective's, well Hunter was working patrol but she was still a Detective.

"Boring. You go with air support. The city will pay for flight school, and you'll always have a backup career." Tim said.

"Do I need a backup career?" Nolan asked.

"K-9 is the way to go. Overtime is $200 an hour, and you get to keep the dog." Hunter said.

"And if all you want is money, the department will pay you to learn computer forensics." Grey said.

"Or I could use the ticket to get back on track for becoming a training officer this year." Nolan said.

"Hmm." Hunter said thoughtfully, there was a shortage of training officers at the LAPD for the moment seeing as very few who were trained TOs actually took on a rookie and not many of them are chosen for it.

"That's funny." Grey said chuckling.

Nolan chuckled. "Yeah. Kidding. No, I mean, uh -- no. I, uh, certainly have some thinking to do, yeah."

Hunter looked at Tim. "He's gonna pick something lame."

"Oh, for sure. --" Suddenly Jake's phone rings catching everyone's attention. "Sorry," Tim pulled the phone out. "Jake's phone," Tim looked at Angela. "It's Hajek."

"All right. Back to Rosalind Dyer." Grey said as Grant, Hunter, Angela and Tim walked out.

***

Angela, Grant, Hunter, Tim. walked into the interrogation room, Tim placed the phone of the table and put it on speaker. "Yo, I thought you were never gonna call."

"Had to iron out a few details, but the job's back on track. Is your lady squared away?" Hajek asked.

Everyone looked at Hunter who answered quickly. "Hell, no. You think we don't got lives of our own, waiting around on some mystery gig?"

"Relax. The payday's worth the suspense. Wisco and Lyon are taking point. And we're adding your buddy Dayvion Mosby for extra muscle."

The four cops shared a look before Tim thinks for a moment. "Yo, Dayvion's money."

"Dayvion's handsy," Hunter said, sounding like she was correcting Tim. "Get someone else."

"He's already hired. Deal with it."

"So what time we meeting up?" Tim asked.

"Two hours. I'll get back to you with the details." Hajek then hangs up.

The four cops looked at each other. "This Dayvion guy shows up, it's over." Tim said.

"Then I need to make sure he doesn't." Angela replied.

***

Lexi who's bar exam was in two days time was standing beside Del Monte about Rosalind Dyer. She'd requested that when he introduces her he use her biological parents last name of Smith.

"All right, everybody, listen up. Can you gather around?" Everyone moves to start listening to Del Monte said. "Have your attention for a second, please. Thank you very much. I'm Sean Del Monte. I'm prosecuting the case against Rosalind Dyer," Del Monte turned to Chris and Lexi. "This is Chris Sanford and Lexi Smith who's bar exam will be in two days, both are from my office, Sergeant Grey, LAPD," Del Monte turned to Tovar. "This is Captain Duane Tovar from the Sheriff's Department. He's overseeing all security at the courthouse. It is my hope that this trial will close a very painful chapter in this city's history and bring some peace to the families that she's destroyed. With that, I'd like to turn it over to Captain Tovar," Del Monte turned to Tovar. "Duane?"

Tovar stepped forward and started talking. "Thank you. This is a rendering of the Superior Courthouse. We have 840 daily employees, 7,000 daily visitors. There are 50 courtrooms. The Dyer trial will be on the sixth floor of the West Wing. The escort team will arrive at a secret entrance to avoid crowds. Sergeant Grey's team will be there to secure the sixth floor and escort the prisoner to and from the courtroom." Suddenly sirens wail in the distance.

"The package is en route. E.T.A. 30 minutes."

"We will have eyes on Rosalind every second of the day." Tovar said.

Everyone splinters off. "Lexi, you're with me for the day and Chris," Lexi gives Del Monte an annoyed look. "Your parents will kill me if anything happened to you so you're stuck at my side like glue."

Tim was in the interrogation room with Angela and Aaron, Tim was in his UC clothes and looking in the mirror touch his hair. "Ugh. Why couldn't my doppelganger be less greasy?" Tim asked moving away and standing at the end of the table.

Angela stood beside her friend. "It's actually surprising how easily you turn skeevy." She comments.

That's when everyone turned to Hunter who'd walked into the room, Tim stared at her for a moment, Angela smirked at Hunter while Aaron was the one who spoke. "Oh. Looking good, Juicy." Aaron said.

Hunter was wearing a black top that had mesh in the middle revealing part of her breasts and some of her cleavage, she was wearing black pants and heels, her hair was curled slightly. "I am seriously second-guessing this tactical decision to wear a shirt like this." Hunter said.

That's when Jake's phone starts ringing, Hunter smiled at the obnoxious ringtone. "Yo. Are we doin' this or what?" Tim asked.

"We are. Meet my guys at Whittier Air Strip. 30 minutes."

The four cops shared a look. "Air strip? I thought this job was local." Tim said.

"It's not. That a problem?"

That's when Hunter pipes up. "Uh, yeah, that's a problem. I travel with three suitcases minimum. It requires precision to look this good."

"Tough. I'm paying you to drive, not to play dress up. So get your ass to the Air Strip or look good in a coffin." Hajek hangs up.

The four cops all shared a look once more. "We got to call it off." Angela said.

"What's the problem?" Aaron asked.

"Once we're in the air, no backup, no surveillance. Things go sideways, we're completely on our own." Tim explained.

"Plus, we'll have no idea where they're going. It's not worth the risk. I'm pulling the plug." Angela said.

"I'd suggest the LAPD plane seeing as the pilot has to file a flight plan. But the paperwork to get that authorized will take all day," Hunter gestured between herself and Tim. "And we're wheels up in an hour."

Aaron grabbed his phone out and started texting someone. "I mean, I can get a private jet there in 45 minutes. Also, what kind of caviar do you guys like?" Aaron got nothing but silence and look at the other three cops. "I'll just get an assortment." He said looking back at his phone.

"Aaron most of us aren't rich enough to eat caviar. She is though." Hunter points to her sister.

"I tried it and I hate it." Angela deadpanned.

***

A van pulled up in an underground parking lot at the court house and Rosalind was lead out. "Hello, John." Rosalind smiled.

"Rosalind." Nolan said, keeping a stoic face.

"You look good. Happy. Would you say that's job satisfaction? Or Bailey?" Rosalind asked.

"I'd say it's seeing justice served." Nolan deadpanned.

"He's such a boy scout." Rosalind muttered as Suriel led her upstairs.

Nolan ignored Rosalind and turned to Suriel. "John Nolan."

"Megan Suriel. I assume you've been briefed on our security arrangements."

"I have."

Suriel looked at the other Sheriff's department cops. "Let's go."

Everyone walked through a hallway, Rosalind turned and looked at Nolan as he was walking on her left and Suriel on her right. "You know, I follow Bailey on Instagram. Oh, I love that cake she made this morning. And Luna, too. She is getting good on a horse. And Grant as well, he and Lucy make such a good couple. Oh, and Lucy's little friend Tamara -- she is doing so well at SMC and not to forget, Lexi, I'm so happy for her, becoming a lawyer, I follow her as well." Rosalind said.

"Am I supposed to applaud that you can use social media? Or are you hoping I'll be unsettled that you're name-dropping people I care about?" Nolan asked.

"I think it's the only party trick she's got." Suriel said.

"I was so disappointed Lucy and Hunter both decided not to testify. I was really looking forward to seeing them again at different times of course -- revisiting our favorite songs," they all stepped into an elevator, Rosalind looked at Nolan. "Will you please send them my love?" She asked.

"No." Nolan replied.

***

Now that they'd been given the go ahead, everyone was ready to go as Tim sped over to the air strip in Lexi's car. He gets out of the car and sees Hajek's crew waiting for them In front of the jet. "Yo. Nice ride." Tim says his arm around Hunter's waist.

Lyon rolls his eyes. "You're late." He says annoyed.

Hunter just smirks. "Yeah, well, our quickie wasn't so quick" she says placing a hand around Tim's waist. She looks around "Where's Dayvion?" She asks.

"Flaked." Lyon says.

"That ain't like him." Tim said.

Hunter scoffs. "That's exactly like him." She says, looking at Tim.

Lyon rolls his eyes "Hajek's pissed. We had to scramble to get a replacement. That's Sway." He introduces to the man behind him.

Hunter and Tim look at Sway and Hunter smirked. "Hi, sexy. I'm Sava." She says her finger wrapping around her hair.

Tim nods his head "What's up? Jake," Tim looks at the gear. "We got a lot of gear." He comments.

Lyon nods his head "It's a big job." He said.

Hunter was still holding Sava's phone in her hand. "Mm-hmm. Are you gonna finally tell us what it is?" She asked.

"When we're airborne," Lyon deadpanned. "First..." Lyon trailed off.

Wisco stepped forward with a bag and opened it. "Cellphones."

Hunter looked up at Tim, pouting at him. "Mm." Hunter moves her phone closer to herself.

"You'll get them back when it's over. Can't risk operational security." Lyon said.

Hunter stepped forward with Tim pulling Jake's phone out of his pocket. "You hear that, baby?" Hunter asked as she and Tim placed their phones in the back. "We're in the big leagues now -- using terms like "operational security"." She said.

Hunter walked back to Tim and placed a hand on his chest and Tim wrapped an arm around her waist again, Lyon looks at them annoyed as the two stare at each other. "Get in the damn plane." Hunter sneered at him with annoyance.

Hunter then looked back at Tim. "You heard the man. Get in the damn plane." Hunter moved first and Tim followed her.

***

They were airborne on their way to the destination that still wasn't announced. Hunter had gone to the back of the plane and got some champagne for her and Tim as she walked down the aisle of the plane. She sees one of Hajek's members loading up their guns. "Nice guns." She says walking by him, placing a hand on his shoulder. He looks up at her and doesn't say anything as he continues with his work.

Hunter rolls her eyes sitting on the arm rest on the side of Tim. His arm instantly wrapping around her landing on her thigh "Your friends are so grumpy." She says with an eye roll.

Tim looks up at her. "Ain't no one here to have fun. It's a job." He points out.

Hunter rolls her eyes. "That's what everyone keeps saying. Except so far, it's just been the world's lamest bachelor party." She deadpans, looking around.

Lyon looks over at Hunter. "You know who Roman Krupka is?" he asks them. Hunter shakes her head and Tim shrugged. "He imports for the Monarch Cartel." He continues.

Hunter nods. "So, the competition." She states.

Lyon nods his head. "Something like that. Krupka's paranoid, doesn't trust computers, never keeps a written record. The details of his operation exist in one place, "The Brain", A man named Leonard Madris." He explains to them.

Tim nods and thinks for a moment. "Ain't that a little dangerous making one man the center of your whole operation?" He asks him.

Lyon nods his head. "Yeah, it is. That's why Madris is kept under heavy guard. Barely leaves Krupka's compound. But we received a solid tip that he's headed to Vegas this weekend."

"With his bodyguards?" Tim asked.

Lyon nods. "Never goes anywhere without them. That's where you come in. You guys take out the guards while I grab Madris," Lyon glances at his crew with a smirk. "And then we torture The Brain for every detail. And take over the business."

Hunter was glancing around again before nodding her head. "Oh. It sounds like we should be getting paid more." Hunter deadpanned.

Tim nodded in agreement. "Mm-hmm." He hummed.

"Tough. Like my mom used to say -- "You get what you get, and you don't get upset."" Lyon said.

Hunter glances at Tim. "Well, this seems a lot bigger than we thought."

Tim looked at her. "Yep."

***

Later, they had been flying for a few hours now almost at their destination, which was Vegas. Hunter was standing beside Tim's seat, blissfully unaware of the event unfolding back home, but she was about to find out. Lyon looks at his phone with wide eyes. "Look at this." He says handing the phone to Wisco.

"No way." Wisco says in shock.

Tim looks over sensing it was something major "What?" He asks them.

Wisco hands Lyon his phone back. "Rosalind Dyer just escaped." He said.

Wisco almost laughs. "I'm glad we're not in L.A. tonight. That chick gives me nightmares." He says.

Hunter didn't listen to anything they were saying as her mind instantly flashed back to the day she was stuck in the barrel. Her eyes get teary as she tenses up. Tim grips Hunter's wrist as it was sort of hanging off Tim's shoulder, Tim looked at Lyon. "How long till we land?" He asked.

Lyon looked at his watch. "15 minutes."

Tim nods and stands up and slides his down from Hunter's wrist to her hand. "Plenty of time." He said.

Wisco looked at the two of them. "For what?"

"Mile high club, baby." Tim replied.

"I never thought you'd ask." Hunter said, following Tim.

***

Once they get into the bathroom Hunter looks at Tim with wide eyes. "How could this happen?" She asks feeling a sense of anxiety, even though she wasn't there, she was mostly worried about Lucy seeing as the two went through the same thing.

Tim sighs. "I don't know. But every law enforcement agency in Southern California is on it, okay? She won't be out long." He says to her.

Hunter didn't actually listen to what he had said as she starts to overthink. "D-Did she have help? Another apprentice. Like Jake and Caleb? I mean --"

Tim places two hands on Hunter's shoulders to ground her. "Stop, okay? Stop. We can't worry about that right now. If your head is not 100% in the game, it'll get you killed." He said.

Hunter nods her head and places her forehead on Tim's chest for a moment before looking at him. "You're right. I-I know. I just -- It's -- I'm fine. I-I can do this." She said, brushing some hair out of her face.

Tim looked at her thoughtfully and shook his head. "No. No, you're not. I'm pulling the plug as soon as we land."

Hunter shook her head. "Uh... No. Look, the stakes are too high. This is our one chance at Madris. The news threw me for a second, but I'm... I'm fine. I can do this." Tim stares at Hunter intently as if thinking of the right words.

Suddenly there's a knock on the door and the two hear Wisco. "Yo, finish up. We're landing."

"Okay. Hunter, if you change your mind, you just say the word." Tim said.

"I will. Okay?" Hunter said.

"Mm-hmm," Tim starts moving towards the door. "Let's go."

Hunter placed a hand on his chest to stop him walking. "Wait."

Tim moves back to Hunter. "What?"

"We're supposed to be hooking up in here."

"What?" Tim asked.

Hunter sighs deeply and places her hands on Tim's face and pulls him into a long kiss. Tim is stunned for a moment before placing his hands on Hunter's shoulders and moved her closer, when Hunter reluctantly pulled away. "Okay," she removed part of Tim's jacket off his shoulder. "Um...that's good. Yeah. Let's do this." Hunter walked out and Tim watched her as she did before following.

***

The crew along with Hunter and Tim had landed in Vegas, Hunter was looking out the window of their car at the bright lights in Vegas along the strip. Hunter felt Tim watching her and glanced at him thoughtfully for a moment.

***

They arrive at the Casino and Lyon hands Hunter and Tim their room keys. "Room keys. Wisco and I are on either side of you. Sway's across the hall. We have some time, so rest up."

Hunter scoffed. "Who sleeps in Vegas? We're hitting the clubs."

Hunter starts walking when Lyon cuts her off. "No. You're staying close, and you're staying sharp."

A woman looks over at the group and becomes angry as she recognizes Tim as Jake. "Jake!" She yelled but none of them heard her so she stormed over. "Jake!"

Tim looks over at her as does Hunter, the raven haired cop just looked at Tim who was hiding his confusion. "Hey, girl!"

Melanie scoffs angrily. "Oh, don't hey girl me. You weren't even gonna look at me? Didn't I tell you the next time I saw you I'd light that greasy hair of yours on fire?" She says angrily. She looks down at his stomach "You lost a lot of weight, huh?" She tells him.

That's when Hunter intervenes walking past Tim. "Oh, hey. Hello? Back off." She put a hand up at Melanie.

Melanie chuckles and looks up at Hunter seeing as she was 5'9" making her taller than Melanie. "You must be the new skank." She says running a finger through her hair.

Hunter just grabs Melanie's pony tail roughly and pulls her down. "Who are you calling a skank?" Melanie lets out a cry of pain. "You better get the hell out of here. If I see you again, I'm gonna rip this fucking janky-ass hairpiece out of your head. Hmm?" Hunter asked.

Lyon stepped forward and grabbed Hunter's bicep. "That's enough."

Hunter slowly looks over at Lyon and glared at him. "What? You want me to let her go?"

"Please." Lyon hissed.

Hunter lets Melanie go and she stands up. "Psycho." She yelled before moving away quickly.

Hunter, Tim and Hajek's crew watching Melanie scurry away, Hunter smirks. "She's cute." That's when she and Tim notice Angela, Aaron and Grant at the poker table.

"You two need to keep a low profile," Tim and Hunter turned to Lyon. "The last thing we want is for you to get arrested over some B.S. with an ex." Lyon said.

"Yo, we'll be on our best behavior. Scout's honor." Tim shrugged.

Hunter rolled her eyes. "Mm, screw that. We are going to hit the casino and see if we can get lucky three times in one day. Hm?" As Hunter walks past Tim she places a hand on his chest, Tim looks back at the crew and shrugs before following her.

***

Tim and Hunter walked over to the poker table where Aaron and Angela were. "Mind if we sit in?" Tim asked.

Angela nods. "It's a free country." She said.

Tim sits down beside Angela while Hunter stands behind the chair, placing a hand on it. "Target's Leonard Madris." Tim said.

"Madris knows where everything in Roman Krupka's operation is buried -- and everyone." Angela said.

"Where is he? I'll have Vegas P.D. pick him up." Grant added.

"They haven't told us. We make our move first thing in the morning. We won't know anything until we're en route." Tim said.

That's when Hunter asked the question weighing on her mind. "What happened with Rosalind?"

"She hired a psychopath lawyer who helped her kill a deputy and escape." Angela deadpanned.

"I knew it. Another Jake and Caleb. You need to protect Lexi." Hunter said, still looking down at the cards.

"Already on it. Del Monte's made her stick with him all day to keep her safe, she's with him and your ex at the DA's office." Grant said, Hunter nodded, she trusted Del Monte and she knew Lexi would just ignore Chris.

"And we have protection details on everyone we think Rosalind might even think about going after," Angela looked at her sister, seeing her face. "Are you sure you're up for this? If you need to pull the rip cord, I understand." Angela said.

Tim glanced at Hunter for a moment. "She's solid." He said looking at Angela.

"Okay. I'll contact Vegas P.D.," Angela slides Tim a burner phone. "And with any luck, they'll get a location on Madris tonight so we can snatch up your crew before bullets start flying." Angela said.

That's when Aaron pipes up, showing that he'd been listening the whole time. "What happens if you don't catch him in time?" Aaron asked.

"We have to be creative. Remember, our priority is saving lives, even if that means we lose Madris." Tim said.

"Got it." Aaron said before continuing to play poker.

***

Lexi was sitting in Del Monte's office with Chris and Del Monte, looking at her phone. "I'm gonna head off." Chris said, before standing up, Del Monte nodded and Chris walked out.

"Interesting." Lexi comments, not looking up from her phone.

"What?" Del Monte asked.

"I got something. I found an article Beth published in her school's law review. And she argues that criminality is a construct that changes based on the prevailing social mores of the culture." Lexi said. "Which I don't entirely disagree with," Del Monte nods in agreement. "But then towards the end she defends cannibalisms."

"Okay, she's lost me and you there." Del Monte said, seeing the look on Lexi's face.

***

Once they get to their hotel room the first thing Hunter does is turn the tv on to the news channel. She sits on the bed and listens to the reporter talk about Rosalind's escape. When suddenly the remote is taken from her hands.

Tim turns the TV off and throws the remote back onto the bed and pulls Hunter into a hug. "We don't know anything they don't." Tim pulled back.

"Yeah." Hunter agreed.

Tim picked up a menu as Hunter places her hands on the side of her head. "Ugh, my head is killing me."

Tim glances over at her. "You're really good at this, you know? The whole undercover thing.

"I know," Tim chuckled. "But coming from you that means a lot," Tim looks back at the menu again and Hunter stares at him for a moment. "Uh, do you mind if I take the first shower?" She asked.

"No, it's fine," Hunter walks into the bathroom and closes the sliding door but it bounces open slightly, Tim turns to speak to Hunter. "Hey, you hungry?" He asked, seeing her bareback.

"Yes. I would get some French fries if you're ordering." Hunter called out.

"Yeah. They have sweet potato wedges." Tim called to her sitting on the bed.

"Sounds great." Hunter said and then the shower turned on, Tim grabbed the remote and turned on the football but wasn't really paying attention. "The water pressure is epic," Hunter said, Tim looked at her, she was in a robe, he turned the game off. "And I'm totally taking one of these robes. Wait. That's not stealing, right?" Hunter asked.

"No, no. They'll just charge it to Hajek." Tim said.

Hunter looked at the robe. "Then we should take two," Hunter chuckled and felt Tim staring at her, she looked at him. "What?"

Tim stands up. "Do you want to talk about it?"

Hunter knew what this was about and took a small step back. "About what?"

Tim walks closer to Hunter. "You and I know full well that wasn't for work and neither of us have admitted it to anyone." He said.

"Uh...Yeah, I know but you're dating Ashley, I on the other hand am single which you now know because Grant told you." Hunter deadpanned.

"Okay, so...I'm not dating Ashley." Tim corrects.

"Right? So, we're both single and I implied that I have feelings for you, which you know I do..." Hunter sighed and shook her head. "Grant was the one to point out that the kiss wasn't for work." Hunter said.

"When we get home, do you want to talk about this more and then go on a date?" Tim asked.

Hunter smiled. "Yeah, I do."

That's when the burner phone rang and Tim answered it. "Yo."

"It's me. Can you talk?" Angela asked.

"Yeah. I'm just alone with Hunter in the hotel room." Tim replied.

"Uh-oh." Hunter who heard what Angela said, chuckled.

"What do you got?" Tim asked.

"Las Vegas P.D. got a location on Madris. We're mobilizing with LVPD -- unless you think you need us."

"No. We should be good until morning." Tim said.

"When we get Madris, we're coming back to grab Hajek's crew."

"All right. We'll be ready. Good luck."

"Don't do anything I wouldn't do." Tim just hung up on Angela.

"They get a line on Madris?" Hunter asked.

"Yeah."

"Good. Okay. Uh, I'm gonna blow-dry my hair. Otherwise, it'll be crazy in the morning." Hunter walked off to the bathroom.

That's when Tim heard knocking on the door, he places a hand on the gun in his waistband and checked the peephole, he sighed. "Hey, Jake. Hey, Jake. I know you're in there." Melanie yelled.

Tim whips the door open when Lyon and the other step in with Lyon hitting Tim with the gun and knocking him to the floor before putting zipties on his wrists as Melanie's shoved into a chair, her own hands ziptied. "Hey, buddy. This girl says you're not Jake. (to WISCO) Go get her," that's when the lot of them her fighting, Lyon underestimates Hunter and assumes it's Wisco attacking her and not the other way around. "Don't kill her yet." He called.

"No, you got this all wrong," Tim rolled over on the floor on his back. "Chick hasn't seen me in forever. I lost weight. So what?" Tim asked.

"She said you guys hooked up three weeks ago, you had quite the gut." Lyon said.

That's when Wisco appears in the doorway but he falls to the floor and Hunter shoots the other guy, Sway, and then knocks out Lyon, Hunter looks at Tim. "Are you okay?" She asked.

Tim groaned in pain. "I'll live."

Hunter moves towards Lyon and Sway. "Hands behind your back! Do it now! Hands behind your back," she ziptied the two men's wrists and then walked over to Tim, Hunter kneeled down beside him and cut his wrists. "Oh, gosh. Remind me not to take a guy out while I'm wearing a robe. I showed him the entire world just now." She comments.

Tim rolls onto his back and shakes his head at what Hunter as just said and she just tucks some hair behind her ear.

***

It was nighttime, Lexi was sitting across from Del Monte who was drinking some whiskey. "Rosalind's only been out for 12 hours and three people are dead." Del Monte said.

"This isn't your fault." Lexi said, from across his, trying to reassure Del Monte.

Del Monte took a sip of his drink. "Well, I was the one that pushed to try her for Caleb and Jake's crimes. She was already gonna spend the rest of her life in prison." Del Monte explained.

The red head nineteen year old future lawyer shook her head. "No. Y-You wanted to give Caleb and Jake's victims closure." Lexi said.

"Yeah. But I also wanted the glory of trying that case. Now I got to live with that. Ah," Del Monte sniffed slightly and sat up. "Go home. Get some sleep. There's a police escort waiting for you downstairs."

Lexi stood up. "What are you gonna do?" She asked.

"I'm gonna finish this bottle." Del Monte replied.

"Good night." Lexi said.

"Go easy." Del Monte said.

Lexi gives him a small smile. "See you."

"Yeah. See you tomorrow," Lexi starts walking away when Del Monte calls out for her and she turned around. "Hey, Lexi."

"Yeah?" Lexi asked.

"When you see Hunter tonight... tell her I'm sorry." Del Monte requested.

"I will." Lexi walked out and got into the shop, not realising that Rosalind was there. "Can you take me to 8111 Tunney Ave?" Lexi asked. The shop started driving away.

Tim and Hunter had arrived at Tim's house. "I cannot wait to get out of these clothes." Tim said.

Hunter laughed. "Yeah. I'm not gonna miss that hairdo." Hunter looked at the hair.

Tim looks over at Hunter. "I kinda like yours." Tim comments, he grabs his key out and unlocks the door, allowing Hunter in first before following and doing the code.

That's when the two of them see Lexi's head. "Lexi, hey." Hunter said, she and Tim shared a look when Lexi didn't respond, Tim and Hunter walked around the couch and snapped into action when they saw her wrists had been cut. "No. Wait," Hunter checks Lexi's pulse. "She still has a pulse."

Tim grabs to strands of cloth and hands them to Hunter who tourniquets both Lexi's arms. "Tim!" Hunter yelled, Tim just grabbed his phone out called an ambulance.

"Yeah, this is Sergeant Tim Bradford. I need an ambulance at my house, 8111 Tunney Ave." Tim said before hanging up. "Ambulance is on the way, I'll call Grey." Tim said, Hunter nodded and stood up seeing as she couldn't do anything more for Lexi than what she'd already done.

Del Monte and Lexi are gonna be good friends and have a uncle-niece sort of relationship if that makes sense.

Also, Lexi will be at the station in the next episode due to Hunter not needed to go to UC school.

Hope you enjoy.
