| Chapter Four |
09:01, 9 March 2022Jiyong tossed in his bed, not able to fall asleep. He had been experiencing more nightmares as of late, and no sleeping pills or natural remedies seemed to be working.
"Hyung!" Hanbin shouted from out in the living room.
Groaning, he sat up in his bed. "What's wrong?" Jiyong replied as he rubbed his eyes.
"Dongguk is on the phone and he wants to talk to you," the younger male said. Jiyong groaned before letting out a loud yawn and lifting himself out of bed. Then, he stumbled out into the living room where Hanbin was holding the phone in the air from his spot on the couch.
"Thanks," Jiyong said as he took the phone from him. "Hey, what's up?" he said, pressing the phone to his ear.
"I have another appointment for you," Dongguk said, causing Jiyong to scowl and roll his eyes.
"When?" he asked, crossing one arm over his chest and sighing.
"Tomorrow night," he said. "The person said that you'll be picked up at eight."
"At eight or around eight? Because last time someone said that, I ended up standing outside in the cold for an hour," Jiyong said with raised eyebrows.
"At eight, I guess. But hey, if anything like that happens, just let me know and I'll take care of it."
"Okay," Jiyong said with a light exhale, feeling a little better.
"Make sure you rest up and eat before you go, okay? I don't know what plans this guy has for you. He's not one of regulars, so he's unpredictable."
"Alright, I will. Thanks for calling."
"I'll call you the day after to check up on you."
"Uh huh," Jiyong replied a bit impatiently though he tried not to let it show, letting his arm fall back to his side.
"See ya," Dongguk said right before he hung up.
"Bye," Jiyong said, pressing the end call button and setting the phone on the side table.
"Another appointment?" Hanbin asked as Jiyong walked around and joined him on the couch.
"Yep," Jiyong said as he plopped on the couch. "What are you watching?"
"Just some movie." He shrugged. "I'm not sure what it's called." Jiyong chuckled a little at the younger and adjusted himself a little, pressing his back into the couch a little more.
Hanbin yawned lightly, covering his mouth, and leaned back before laying his head on Jiyong's shoulder comfortably. Jiyong lifted his arm and placed it around the boy, hugging him closer to his side before they both stopped moving and eventually fell asleep in front of the television screen.

After Seunghyun repeated his usual morning routine, he headed to the office. He pulled his car into his reserved parking spot right as the time changed to 8:55 a.m., which gave him just enough time to make it upstairs to the main building by nine.
When he did, he immediately started towards his office so he could start to file the case he agreed to take just the day before. On his way there, he just happened to walk past Chaerin's office when she called his name.
"Seunghyun," she said, trying to gain his attention before he walked away.
"Yes?" Seunghyun said, putting his steps in reverse and stopping in front of her opened door.
"I called those people before I left yesterday and set up the appointment for you," she said, earning a single and mute nod from Seunghyun. "Here is the address of the place he'll meet you at," she added, holding out a small sticky note. He walked into her office and grabbed it out of her hand before looking at it. "I said you'd be there at eight o'clock tomorrow night. I hope that's alright."
"No, yeah, that's fine." Seunghyun nodded, his eyes meeting her face for a few seconds. "I'll be there."
"Okay," she replied with a small smile. "Thanks again for taking this one and saving me from giving it to Daesung."
"Yeah." Seunghyun chuckled, temporarily lowering his head. "He finds you to be quite the woman."
"I've noticed," Chaerin replied with an unimpressed smile on her red lips. "Well, you should get to work on that report," she said, breaking the brief silence that had fell in between them.
"Right," Seunghyun said, nodding his head a couple times. "I'll get right on that." Then, he said goodbye and started back on his original trail. Once he reached his office, he sat down at his desk and took his coat off before turning on his computer.
"Knock, knock," Daesung cooed as he literally knocked on the frame of Seunghyun's office door. "How's it going, buddy?"
"Fine, I guess," Seunghyun replied, letting out a small sigh as he sat back in his chair and waited for his computer to load. "I have a new case to work on."
"Really? What's it about?" Daesung asked as he walked inside and stood next to Seunghyun.
"Prostitution," Seunghyun said plainly.
"Oh, not again," Daesung said with wrinkled eyebrows. "Can't they like find normal jobs like the rest of us? This is kind of getting ridiculous."
"If it was that simple to find a 'normal' job, I don't think they would be prostitutes," Seunghyun said, his eyebrows slightly furrowed. Daesung rolled his eyes. "But I only have to pick the kid up and keep him at my place until I can bring him in for questioning."
"Well, that's good," Daesung said, nodding faintly. "At least you don't have to literally go undercover like that Jinwoo kid did. That poor, poor child. I'm surprised he hasn't stopped coming into work." Seunghyun just chuckled and sat back up as he saw his home screen light up. "Well, I'll let you work," Daesung said with a barely audible sigh, patting Seunghyun's shoulder.
"Okay," Seunghyun said, his concentration on the screen in front of him.
"Oh and by the way," Daesung said, sticking his head back into Seunghyun's office, "I'm having a party this weekend at my place."
"Why?" Seunghyun asked with one eyebrow raised, looking right at Daesung.
"Because I felt like throwing a party," Daesung answered, moving his pupils from side to side and shrugging. "Hey, maybe you can bring the prostitute. I'm sure he can entertain us, if you know what I mean."
"That's not even funny, dude," Seunghyun said, tilting his head to the side and squinting his eyes. "Go away. You're distracting me with your horrible ethics."
"Fine, fine," Daesung said, putting his hands in the air. "But you better be there, even if you don't bring the kid."
"I will," Seunghyun said, rolling his eyes. "Now go."
"I'm leaving, I'm leaving," Daesung said, finally disappearing down the hall. Seunghyun sighed in annoyance and then took out the case brief before he started typing away.
