Seunghyun had spent the past hour and a half sitting at his desk, staring intently at the opened folder on his desk. By this time, his eyes had read over the same words at least a million times, and yet he managed to become more conflicted after each read.

"I wanted to see you because I have a new assignment for you," Chaerin said, placing her now folded hands on her desk and looking at Seunghyun.

"Well it's about time". Seunghyun joked, leaning back in the chair and crossing his arms over his chest.

"Yeah, it has been a while," Chaerin replied, looking down a little and chuckling. "But that's only because I've been saving you for a case like this."

"And what exactly is that supposed to mean?" Seunghyun asked, slightly dumbfounded.

"Look for yourself," she said as she slid a folder to him. With narrowed eyes, Seunghyun slowly sat up and took it in his hands before going back to his previous position. He sighed a little as he began reading, mumbling some of the words every now and then.

"Another prostitution case, huh?" Seunghyun said, sounding unimpressed, as he looked at her. "Don't tell me I have to go undercover as one of them like that Jinwoo kid did."

"No," Chaerin said. "You just have to pretend you are a paying customer."

"That's it?" Seunghyun said with his eyebrows raised in surprise.

"Sure is." Chaerin nodded. "All you have to do is pick him up and bring him back here."

"Wait, wait," Seunghyun said, sitting up again. "These are gay prostitutes?"

"Yes, why?" Chaerin asked. "Do you have a problem with that?"

"N-No." Seunghyun lied, his slightly blushing cheeks giving him away.

"Seunghyun, I never said you actually had to sleep with him," Chaerin said with a faint grin on her red lips. "Just pick him up and bring him here. I mean, unless you want to sleep with him because I'm sure he'd be more than willing to."

"No, no," Seunghyun said, shaking his head a little too frantically. "I'll pass on that." Chaerin laughed a little at him in response. "So, what are you going to do then? Once I bring him here, I mean."

"Nothing too serious. I do realize most of these boys probably felt they had no choice but to turn to this, so they shouldn't be punished too harshly," she explained. "But we are going to question him to see if we can get any leads on who he works for and such. We suspect he's just one part of a very big prostitution ring, so if he can get us any closer to who's in charge, we can take it down, see if we can get these kids some real help." Seunghyun just nodded his head as he read over the details of the brief for a second time. "So, are you up for it?" Chaerin asked with raised eyebrows as she leaned on her desk. Seunghyun sighed, his eyes still scanning over the fine print in front of them.

"I'll think about it," Seunghyun said, still avoiding eye contact with Chaerin.

"That's fine, but I need your final decision by the end of the day," she said. Seunghyun looked at her in disbelief, his eyebrows now lifted. "I know it isn't a whole lot of time, but I need to know so I can make the appointment."

"You have to make an appointment?" he asked in some level of shock.

"Yes," she answered. "Apparently, they run a very organized business."

"Clearly," Seunghyun replied, sighing as he took another moment to skim over the file. "Okay, I'll think it over and let you know by the time I leave."

"Sounds good," Chaerin said with a small nod and a smile. With that, Seunghyun thanked her and then grabbed the folder before heading back to his office.

That was exactly what he had been doing ever since then, besides taking a few breaks to finish up some paperwork and eat. It wasn't that he didn't want to take the case because he knew he would be helping all those poor boys that were stuck in that business. He was a just a little weary of the fact that anything could happen. For all he knew, he could get caught before he was even able to get back to his apartment. Plus, whoever they used as their bait could easily call his pimp and then the whole operation would be ruined.

But Seunghyun had always been the type of person that would risk his luxuries and safety for others, even if they were total strangers. He knew what a cruel place this world could be and had personally experienced it first-hand plenty of times, so he looked at his work as one way to make some kind of difference, even if it was only a dent. It may not have always been a win-win situation, but it was the right thing to do in the end and Seunghyun recognized that.

The end of his shift came around and he packed his suitcase back up before grabbing his coat off the small couch he had in his office. He slipped his arms in the holes and then straightened it out a little before running through his mental checklist to make sure he had everything.

He made sure to stop by Chaerin's office before he headed off to his car to inform her of his decision to take on this case. He reached her door, which was only a few down from his, and knocked on the door gently with the back of his newly made fist.

"It's open," Chaerin said from behind the thick, polished wood. Seunghyun turned the knob, causing the door to open, and then stepped inside. "Oh, Seunghyun. Have you decided what are you going to do about the case yet?" she asked when she saw him.

"Yeah, I have." he nodded. "I'll do it."

"Oh, excellent." Chaerin clapped. "I'm so glad you said that."

"It took a lot of thinking, but I decided it's the right thing to do," he explained.

"Good, good," she said with a smile, their eyes meeting for a split second. "I was beginning to think I'd have to give it to Daesung and I think we both know how well that would have went."

He just laughed, not even able to seriously picture Daesung on this case. "Do you want this back?" he asked, holding out the folder and taking a step toward her desk.

"No, you can keep that," she said, batting her hand. "Just so you have something to help you prepare." Seunghyun nodded and laid his suitcase on her couch before placing it inside of it. "Speaking of preparing, can you start right away?" she asked.

"Yeah, sure, whenever is convenient for you." Seunghyun shrugged. "I have a pretty open schedule, so whenever works. And I can keep him however long you see fit. I have plenty of room at my place."

"Awesome," she said, folding her hands together and starting to think. "How about this: you take a day to let it all sink in and prepare, and then you start the day after?"

"That works for me," Seunghyun replied in agreement, nodding slightly as well.

"Then, you can keep him at your place for...let's say a few days at the least, but no more than a week. Just so we can come up with a more solid plan of attack," she said.

"Okay, will do," Seunghyun said.

"Cool," she said. "Thanks, Seunghyun."

"No problem," he said with a faint smile painted on his lips. "I'll see you tomorrow then?"

"Yes, you will," she said.

"Okay," he said, getting ready to exit her office. "Bye."

"See ya," she said with a small wave. Then, with that, Seunghyun said his goodbyes to a few other colleagues and headed back home.
