Chapter 32: Finding Wade

Loki's P.O.V.

    Ever since that creature said Wade's name I have been searching for him with the other Avengers. Since he is a wanted criminal he is used to hiding in plain sight which makes it even more difficult to find him. We have searched in the club Elizabeth worked at, his old apartment, and about a hundred bars where people claimed to have seen him with no luck. We are running out of time. It has been four days and we have no lead on Wade. The Avengers and I were back at the tower getting some breakfast since we were out all night searching for him. Tony was by the bar drinking his scotch. Natasha was drinking her coffee trying to keep Barton awake but hitting his arm every time he nodded off. Thor was waiting for his pop tarts at the bread toasting machine. Banner was in the lab trying to find any way to track Wade's DNA. Steve was eating a bowl of mush and fruit. I was sitting in the couch trying to think of what to do. We have tried practically everything. He's too hard to track unless you are close to him. Unfortunately he is very protective of who he cares about and has them hidden or unknown as well. I kept pacing back and forth blocking out the outside world. Till Thor came to me.

"Brother you should get some rest. You look like you've been fighting in war for months." He said.

"Fighting in war would be better than this." I mumbled.

"I know you and Lady Elizabeth were close, however she wouldn't want you to be like this. She would want you well rested and relaxed. Now, get some sleep."

"No I will not rest until we know where she is and she is safe." I said. Thor then picked me up and threw me over his shoulder and marched me down the hall. "What in hell are you doing? Put me down you worthless oaf." I said as I hit his back. He then opened a door and threw me on Elizabeth's bed.

"No, I am doing what is best for you and Lady Elizabeth. If she knew she was causing you suffering she would....."

"Enjoy it." I said interrupting.

"No, it was cause her pain and grief." He said. "Now, go to sleep. I will lock you in here for a few hours or until J.A.R.V.I.S. informs Tony that you are sleeping." He said as he slammed the door. I hear a lock and hear his footsteps disappear after a minute. I was laying on the bed. I haven't slept since we left Asgard and was exhausted. I closed my eyes and drifted off into a dreamless sleep.

I woke up due to a loud noise going off. It causes me to fall off the bed. The noise keeps playing and sounds similar to a beep but more annoying. I find the source of the beeping and it's Elizabeth's phone. I click a button and try to turn it off however it just has a man speaking.

"Hey Liz, I heard your getting married to you know who. Your parents just today to go to it so if you need help with any planning or shit I, here for ya." He said.

"I'm sorry who is this?" I said.

"What who are you? Where is Liz?"

"I'm Loki Laufeyson Prince of Asgard God of Mischief and Lies and I'm not going to repeat myself. Who is this?"

"Oh Loki, what's up? It's me Wade. We met once at the tower like a few months ago or something like that." He said. Finally, I found Wade Wilson.

"I need your help. It's about Elizabeth."

"Wait what's wrong is Elizabeth ok?"

"As you know she is getting married to a man she despises and me and a few others want to help her escape and we need your help with time, place, and planning."

"Ok, but it will cost ya. I will work for a million no less."

"Doesn't saving your friend count as profit?"

"Nope. Now pay up or I'll hang up." He said. I knew what I had to do.

"Deal." I said. I'll just steal some money from Stark since he's full of it.

"Ok I'll be over in two days. No sooner, no later."

"But...."

"Hey, hey, hey I'll get there when I get there."

"Fine, but early in the morning."

"Fine." And with that he hung up.

I went to the door and it was unlocked. By the looks of it, it was around noon. I ran to find Thor. He was sleeping in a chair in the living room with the television on. The television was playing some weird cartoon show that had talking animals and cars. I shook him awake.

"Thor...Thor...THOR....wake up you oaf." I said as I was shaking his arm. He then punched me Across the room.

"Forgive me brother, I did not know it was you." He said. I stood up and straightened my clothes.

"Thor get the others, I found Wade." As soon as I said that he ran off and went to find the others. After about ten minutes they were all in the living room. Some looked dead tired like Barton and Bruce, some looked tired but able to function, and then there was Tony who was drunk and smelled of scotch and ale. "I bet you are all wondering why I brought you together."

"Obviously." Said Barton.

"I have found Wade and have made an agreement with him."

"Woah, woah, woah.....you made an agreement without us there. How do we know your not lying to us?" Said Natasha.

"I swear to Odin's Throne and on my title that I am not lying." I Said. They all looked to Thor for an explanation of what I just said.

"He basically said that he swears not to lie and if he does he loses his title of being a prince and God and he will also be killed by the All father if he fails." He said.

"Oh, ok so when do we leave?" Natasha asked.

"Wade said he'd be here in two days no earlier no later."

"Two days, by then she could be dead."

"It's all we have. Besides who else could sneak us into the wedding and know where it is?"

"Wait, wedding? What are you talking about? Tony said she was kidnapped and we were saving her." Natasha said.

"Well that's also true, but Thanos wants to marry her."

"Why?"

"It's a long story that only Elizabeth knows, so you can ask her when she gets back." I said covering up Elizabeth's powers and heritage.

"Ok, but the least we can do is start planning our attack. So let's split up and do some research on how to attack Thanos and act on this type of situation." Natasha said. She and the others left to come up with ideas for our attack. I headed to Elizabeth's room. I decided to look at some of her books to get an idea on what we are dealing with.

After about 10 books, I couldn't find anything and decided to just go to sleep. Before I fell asleep my last thoughts were of Elizabeth. I couldn't help but wonder what she was going through and how she was doing. Then I fell asleep and dreamed of her.
