Chapter 3; Some Days Stay Gold Forever

*Knock, Knock*

I looked over at the door as it knocked again. So i walked over to the door to answer it.

"Hey Jade"

"So, you ready for your date tonight?"

"I'm nervous."

"Don't be! You managed to pull yourself together to call him, and you were fine at the club the other night, so you can easily go out on a date with him." Jade explained.

"I know, but you know, i just hope it goes well tonight."

"And it will, i'm certain that whatever Nathan has planned for you tonight will be very special" 

"Yeah, i suppose and it seems he hasn't told anyone about it, so it must be right? Aw, but he's gone through so much trouble.."

"Hey, stop fussing about everything! If he wants to go through the trouble to please you, then let him cause i sure wouldn't stop him, well in my case i wouldn't stop Jay" Jade laughed.

"Yeah, you're right. But since i don't know where we're going, what am i supposed to wear, i mean what if i chose something, and it's completely unsuitable?" i asked

"Hmm, guide me to your wardrobe, we'll sort this, i guess we'll just have to choose something which is suitable for all occassions. Good thing i came round when i did cause if you have crap clothes then we have just enough time to go out and get you something to wear."

"Crap clothes? Jade, I have a much more better taste in clothes then you, okay? Even though my biggest problem is that i may have all these clothes, but i still have nothing to wear."

Jade observed every piece of clothing in wardrobe, every t-shirt, down to the last pair of bottoms i own.

"Oh, hey i almost forgot to ask you. Yesterday, how did Jay get my number, you said you'd tell me today, but you must have forgot seen as you haven't mentioned it?" i asked.

"OHH, yeah. I asked him how he got it and he said he raided my phone, just to search for your number just so he could text you about Nathan.. Surprised i never saw him do it, i was right there in the room with him" she replied.

"Oh, i see" i laughed as i turned away with a puzzled look on my face.

"Yeah. Oh hello, what's this?"

Jade pulled out my beige shorts and white boob tube.

"That? you really think i should wear that?" i asked

"Well, yeah i mean i'd say this could be worn on all occassions, plus you don't want to feel under or over dressed do you? she asked

"No."

"Well, that's settled then. I mean i could have pulled this out"

She picked up my tight mini black dress.

"Oh, no thankyou" i laughed.

"Exactly! So, i suggest you wear this."

"Okay, i'll wear it, may as well anyway as i never would have picked something like that out" i replied.

"Well, get it on then, i'll go downstairs and shout me when you're done and i'll come up and fix your hair and whatever, cause i want you to look your best for your man" she winked at me as she went out the room

"He's not my man yet Jade"

"But you soo want him to be"

I paused.

"..And what?" i laughed.

"Get dressed!" said Jade as she closed the door.

I put on the clothes, and looked in the morror for a while. ah, i guess this'll work, i thought to myself..

"Hey, i'm done." i shouted to Jade downstairs as she came back up.

"Looks great, now i know how you look in that, i have the perfect hairstyle for you."

 She picked up my hair brush, my comb and my hairspray and got to work.

"Done!"

I looked in the mirror

"Wow, that looks fab, thanks Jade!" i said happily.

"Not a problem! Now, what time's Nathan coming?"

"Um, about 7?"

"What time is it now?"

"Um" I checked my phone. "it is.. 6:58" i replied.

"Should be here any minute then!"

"Oh, god, i have butterflies, ah i can't take it!" i said excitedly.

"You'll be fine, i was the night Jay and i hooked up, and that's the first time i've felt that way. If i can pull through, so can you." Jade replied.

I smiled, as Jade put her arms out to hug me. I went in to hug her and just as we let go, i heard a car horn outside. I looked out my window. Nathan was here.

"It's Nathan"

"Come on then, you ready? she asked.

"No."

"Tough, let's go."

"I'm joking, of course i'm ready." i joked

"Are you?" she gave me the serious face again.

"No."

"Tough, you accepted this date.."

"Yeah, cause you told me to, and Jay seemed to think i should have too" i laughed

"No, this has nothing to do with Jay and I, you accepted this date because you like him and you want this. So you're going.

"Alright, jeeez, when did you turn into my mother?" i asked laughing.

"Oh, shut it and go have fun with your man"

I was just about to walk out the door as i looked back at her sqinting.

"Not, my man Jade."

"Oh, no course he's not. she replied. "Not yet anyway" she whispered.

I watched her get in her car and reverse off my drive as Nathan walked up to me smiling. I was alone again..

"Wow, you look great"

"Really? Well, Jade picked out the outfit as i didn;'t know what to wear."

Nath laughed.

"Hey, you could be wearing your birthday suit and you'd still look great" he winked, smiling cheekily. "So, you ready to go?" he asked.

"Sure am" i smiled as we both got in the car.

15 minutes later, the sun was setting and we arrived at the beach. Nathan parked the car, quickly took off his seatbelt, got out the car and rushed around to the other side and opened my door. I smiled at him. Nath locked the car as we walked down the beach.

"So, you decided to come here aye?" i asked

"Yeah, i actually struggled to come up with a place to go for a first date, so i just went with the first thing that came to mind." he replied

"Well, i think it's really sweet you brought me here"

"Yeah?"

"Yeah, i mean most guys don't even try, or they go too far for a first date and go all out. But you've just made this perfect." i explained.

"Well, i'm glad you feel that way. I mean i would have gone all out to make this special for us tonight, but like i said, i couldn't really think of any other place but here."

" Don't worry about it Nath." I held his hand "Like i said, this is perfect, and i couldn't really think of anywhere else i would want to be right now, then here with you." i smiled sweetly.

Nath fell silent, but gazed into my eyes, he then sighed.

"Why couldn't I have met you sooner?" I looked at him. "I mean, yeah i've only just met you and everything, yet you're perfect, and i never knew that in such little time, you could mean so much to me." Nath blushed as he looked away.

I turned his head back so he was facing me again, I looked in his eyes and saw he had a tear in each. I smiled.

"It's not you that should have met me sooner. It's me who should have met you." I replied quietly, stepping an inch closer to him, as he pulled me right up to him and hugged me.

 As soon as we pulled away from the hug, we were face to face, as Nath quickly made the first move and kissed me passionately as the sun was seconds away from setting and the waves calmly crashed against the shore. Our lips parted as we went back to smiling at each other. I looked down as nath glued his fingers in the spaces between mine. I looked back up at him to see him still smilling.

"I know this perhaps wasn't the best first date in the world. But.."

"Nathan, stop fussing, i mean yeah we've only been out a little while, but in the short time we have been out together, it's been the best few moments of my entire life." i explained grinning at him. He smiled.

"Mine too, babe" I looked at him. "Yeaah, bad move right?"

"Not at all." I smiled.

"Well, that's good then, and hey, i don't want to be to forward. But, would you consider being my girlfriend?" he asked sweetly.

"Of course i will!" i replied quietly, but excitedly.

He grinned as he picked me up off the ground and spun me around in his arms, before gently putting me down and kissing me one last time before we headed home...
