Chapter Nineteen:

03:39, 4 June 2012

Note:When ‘Kimi’ and Naraku face off it’s sort of like when Aang and Ozi face off in Avatar: The Last Airbender. The blue light is white and the red light is black basically.

Chapter Nineteen:

Or so I thought.

“How long have we been walking!” I growled, my feet starting to ache.

Kagura swore, running a finger along the stone wall.

“We’ve been going around in circles.”

“How do you know?” Lili set Rin down so she could walk, her violet eyes flickering up to Kagura’s irritated form.

Said demon pointed to a barely noticeable indent in the stone cave wall. “I marked this a little bit back; I thought this part of the cave was familiar.”

I scowled. “Which way to Naraku?”

Kagura gave me a confused look and pointed to our left. “That way…why?”

I stomped over to the wall and punched it, watching happily as the wall crumbled away to form a large hole in which I could walk through.

“Come on.”

We stepped into another dimly lit hallway and I simply walked to the opposite wall, punching through that one as well.

After five layers of rock solid walls you can imagine why I’d be pretty pissed. When we reached our friends, Miroku was squatted beside a passed out Sango and everyone else seemed pretty beat up. Naraku watched uninterested as Inuyasha, Koga, and Sesshomaru fought puppets.

I snarled, my fists clenched tightly, and the wooden center of the puppets shattered, causing all the puppets to fall to the stone floor in heaps of cloth.

Naraku glanced up, sitting up straight as I stormed into the large room with Kagura and Lili in tow. Inuyasha’s sigh of relief stopped short when he saw Kagura.

“Ahh, Kimi, so we finally meet. Face to face.” He smiled at me sweetly, strands of his long black hair falling into his face. “I can see why Inuyasha has fallen for you. You are very attractive.”

I rolled my eyes, trying not to laugh as Inuyasha snarled at Naraku.

“So Kagura, I see you’ve turned on me.” Naraku’s voice grew cold as he shifted his gaze to the fan wielding girl.

She smiled slightly. “I have found a more…caring master.”

I snickered. “Why, you jealous?”

Naraku regarded me with a cold glare but said nothing.

“What are you yapping on about?” Inuyasha snapped, still glaring at Kagura.

“She’s bound by an oath to Kimi.” Sesshomaru snarled in disgust. Inuyasha let out an exasperated sigh, sending me a ‘what the hell’ look.

I smiled back at him sheepishly.

Lili rolled her eyes and moved to Sesshomaru’s side, Rin in her arms once more.

Kagome sent me a relieved look and took aim once more at Naraku with her sacred arrows. Naraku sent out more puppets for us to battle.

Within seconds all of them were defeated, and we were all panting heavily, dripping in sweat. Well with the exception of Rin and Sango.

“Are you just going to keep cowering up there or are you going to actually get off your lazy ass and come down here and fight?” Inuyasha snarled. Naraku rolled his eyes and stood, a small smile tugging at the corner of his lips.

“Alright, since you were able to defeat my…comrades…and I am the only one left, I will fight Kimi. A one on one battle.”

A terrifying snarl ripped past Inuyasha’s barred teeth. “No.”

Naraku smirked. “I’m afraid it’s not your choice, vermin.” He lifted a hand, bright red plasma lifting from the earth and creating a large dome around Naraku and I.

I scowled. “You really have this planned out, don’t you?”

He replied with a simple smirk, allowing his roots to show. I shivered at the memory, the scar on my waist becoming cold against my skin.

“You know, I know you’re a half demon. You father is the only true nature demon left and he’s too weak to come out of hiding.” Naraku snickered to himself as he started to circle around the edge of the dome.

I bit my lip. “Yeah yeah. Whatever.”

He stopped then, giving me a perplexed look.

“Are you really ready to kill the only person who knows where your dad is?”

With blinding speed that even Naraku wasn’t ready for, I tackled him to the ground, overcome with hatred and rage.

“You stupid bastard!” I grasped his neck and held him above me, my eyes glowing in a bright ferocity.

That’s when I realized I was holding a puppet.

“Say good by to your little mate.”

I chucked the puppet aside and ran, a ray of black rushing towards Inuyasha. I jumped in front of him, the blackness slicing through as my body absorbed the dark. I gasped out, falling limp to the floor.

“KIMI!” Inuyasha shrieked running to the small girl’s side. Naraku watched as the half demon checked her pulse, crying out when he found nothing. He pressed his ears to her chest, tears starting to collect in his eyes.

‘So that’s true love.’ The powerful demon thought to himself, watching as Inuyasha desperately tried to revive to nature demon while his friend’s ran to their side. ‘She gave her life to protect his…and he’d do anything to get her back.’

He heard Inuyasha gasp and was snapped out of his reverie. He lifted his head and watched as Kimi slowly stood up, as if she wasn’t used to the mobility of her limbs.

She turned to him, her eyes glowing in a blinding light, and he watched in amazement as the giant hole in her chest wielded itself back together.

“You, Onigumo, have outlived your years on earth. It is time for you to die now.” When she spoke, she sounded as if she were a hundred people, all their voices talking at once.

“I am no longer that weakling human. He died a long time ago.” He snapped, lowering into a crouch.

“Your heart still beats humanly. You are Onigumo, whether you are willing to admit that or not.” Kimi’s body became bathed in light as she floated about a foot off the ground, her hair falling out of her buns and floating around her head as if she were emerged in water.

Naraku snarled at her, calling upon all of his demonic powers.

“You will be the one to die, Kimi.”

“Our daughter is dead…for the time being…we are simply using her body as a vessel so we can destroy you.”

Both palms were raised. A single shot of bright light burst out from her palms and Naraku shot out a burst of darkness to meet it.

The two lights seemed to fight each other in the center of the room, the white orb growing larger with each passing second.  Naraku shot at it again, this time aiming a continuous blow of darkness at the growing whiteness.

The white continued to grow and Naraku snarled out, pressing harder against the black.

The white light weakened and the darkness took advantage, almost reaching ‘Kimi’s’ outstretched palms.

Naraku noticed how the room was bathed in light, one forth now white and the other in silky darkness. He let out a crazy laugh, pressing harder.

The lacey darkness met her fingertips, the white light shrieking in response.

Naraku grinned triumphantly.

Kimi’s face remained expressionless.

The white light seemed to grow smaller, reducing in size as the darkness traveled up her arm and down her torso.

Only a small sliver of white light remained. Naraku was laughing now, a shaky relieved laugh. He thought he was about to finish her off.

He thought…wrong.

The small sliver of light grew smaller, the cave growing almost completely dark in the pitch black darkness.

Then it magnified tenfold.

White light erupted from that tiny sliver, traveling all over her body first before starting back against the dark ray coming from Naraku’s open palms. The darkness screamed out, shattering where the white light met it and pushed back.

Naraku’s own body started to whither as pain coursed through his veins, causing said demon to cry out and fall to his knees.

The pain was like no other he had felt before, not even as bad as when his human body had been devoured by demons. He’d take that skin shredding horror any day now, take it and be grateful. That was like a being caressed by a thousand silky sheets of cloth and floating on a fluffy cloud compared to this.

Kimi’s body stepped forward, the white light advancing as she did, until her had grasped his neck.

She lifted him into the air, much like the alive Kimi had done to his puppet earlier, and the light ceased. Naraku gasped out in pain, his eyes blinded.

He heard several shocked gasped and guessed the half nature demon’s friends could see them once more.

“What…w-what are you doing…to me?” He rasped out, his hands slashing blindly forward, hoping to loosen the rock hard grip around his neck.

“You will pay for escaping your death, Onigumo. It’s more tortuous to know a blow is coming but not be able to anticipate it.” The voices sounded in his head, causing him to cringe.

“Y-you cant do this!”

“You killed an innocent. One who is NOT supposed to die yet. You deserve whatever punishment you will receive.”

“N-no!” He cried out, his back colliding with the jagged cave ceiling.

She began to sing, a foreign language to his ears in her creepy bone chilling voice.

He cried out as his skin began to boil and sweat perpetrated off his skin and evaporated into the air around him.

“Die now. You’re foolishness shall determine your fate.”

The words caressed his ears and he screamed out, a blinding flash of light burning his skin from the bone then causing his bones to melt.
