Smg4 Fanfiction: Crystal Splezter - Meggy and Tari's wedding

Plot: The day you've been waiting for to bring an end to the main story of Crystal and her life...

(24th April - 2022)

The Mushroom castle was decorated to perfection.

The room was made to look like a proper alter. Some People were taking their seats and a few others were following Smg4's strict instructions.

Smg4: Butter that cake! Hang those flowers! Cmon, we've got half an hour!

Luigi: Wow Smg4, never knew you were so good at decorating.

Smg4: Well, you kinda learn a few things when you make as much weird stuff as I do-Hey! Boopkins, get your fingers off the finger foods!!

Boopkins: But they looks so yummy...

Smg4: Agh! Okay, I've gotta sort this mess out. Luigi, I need you to go check on Tari and see if she's ready. Mario, I need-

Mario: I know, Meggy watch duty.

The two ran off in separate directions, Luigi through the tower doors and Mario into the basement. Smg4 then checked on Bob.

Smg4: Bob, you said you could play the violin, are you good?

Bob: Does this answer your question?

Smg4: Perfect!

To the side, Desti was getting extremely annoyed as she and Saiko were made to wear bridesmaids dresses.

Desti: Agh, I hate this damn dress...

Saiko: Well, you gotta put up with it for now, so-

Desti: Don't remind me, I just hope this is fast...

Tari: Luigi, are you almost done?

Luigi: Hold still, I almost...got it!

Luigi finished sorting the blue flower that he placed in her hair.

Luigi. So, what do you think?

Tari: It's...really nice Luigi. Thank you.

Coupled with the flower in her hair, Tari was wearing a short sleeved Blue wedding dress that had a gown just big enough to still see her socks and slippers underneath. It also had a few game symbols on the bottom.

Luigi: I'll just say, this dress really does say a lot about you.

Tari: Yeah, it's...really a lot to take in.

Luigi: Are you...okay?

Tari: Huh? What do you mean?

Luigi: It's just...as long as I've known you, you've been really nervous about...everything. Are you sure today won't be too stressful?

Tari looked down, brushing her hair to the side a bit as she smiled.

Tari: N-no...I used to be like that about everything, but...Being a parent to Crystal and having an amazing girlfriend like Meggy, next to having all these amazing friends...I want this without a doubt.

Luigi: I'm proud of you Tari, you've really matured!"p

Tari: I know...it's crazy.

Luigi: So, you ready to go?

Tari: Yeah. Let's do this.

Meanwhile, Meggy was being pampered by her Mom with a pound of makeup as her dad was watching Crystal, who wore a simple cute little white dress.

Meggy: M-mom! Cmon, you can let up with the makeup, okay?

Charlotte (Teary): I just want you to look perfect on your special day!

Meggy: Dad, make her stop...

Norman: Nothing I can do kiddo, just let her get it out of her system.

Meggy groaned as her mom continued to be overbearing. The thing that lightened the mood was when she finally got a chance to talk to Crystal.

After her attempt at running away, she'd come back and admitted why she did what she did. After a long talk, she'd assured Crystal that she would be loved the same no matter what. She'd also started her junior course at Omnia academy, making her shocked and so, so proud.

Meggy: Alright Crystal, I just need you to go out their and sit with grandma and grandpa and look cute. Think you can do that?

Crystal: Hehe, I know I can Mommy.

She brushed her hair a bit and looked at her...

Meggy: I just want you to know that today isn't going to change how much I love you, nothing will change that-

Crystal: Mommy, I know! You've been saying that to me for over two weeks...

Meggy: Just making sure, okay?

They both smiled as she kissed her on the forehead. A knock on the door was heard.

Mario: Meggy, can I come in?

Meggy: Oh, sure! Mom, can you and dad take Crystal and go downstairs with the others? Tell them I'll be their in 5 minutes.

Charlotte: Okay Meggy.

She urged them both as her dad picked up Crystal and took her downstairs. He shot Mario an odd glare before he walked in the room.

Meggy: I'm glad your here red, I-Why is there a bag over your head?

Mario was seen to have a bag over his head with no eye holes.

Mario: Isn't it tradition not to see the bride before the wedding?

Meggy: Hehe! No, that's just for Tari...

Mario: Oh, okay. (Removes bag) So, how you feeling?

Meggy: (Deep breath) Giddy...and nervous at the same time. I still can't believe you convinced peach to let us use her castle for the day!

Mario: Yeah...convinced...

...

Elsewhere, Peach was seen locked up in a small shed outside the castle with all her toads.

Mario: You look good, by the way...

Meggy: Thanks, I thought it suited me...

Meggy's dress was a bit more stylish, having a gown that ran past her feet and long sleeves that went up to her wrist, all coupled with a ginger orange colour kit like her hair, which had been let down and her cap and headphones removed.

Mario: You looks so different from all those years ago...

She and Mario took a seat, reminiscing...

Mario: Can you believe it's been almost 5 years since I found you? It's shocked me that you've gone from being homeless with a baby to...having all this.

Meggy: Mario, your the reason I have all this."p

Mario: Oh please, your just saying that because you have too."p

Meggy: No, red. I mean it. If...if you hadn't brought Crystal back to me...if I had never met you...my life would be so much worse. I'd be living on the streets, no home, wondering day and night where Crystal was and being too in denial to go back to my parents...all my dreams gone...

Mario looked with sympathy.

Meggy: But...thanks to you, I have more then I ever thought I would ever have in my whole life. I have...an amazing daughter whose got such a bright future already, I've got friends, a good home, my parents, I'm in college working to be my true self and now...I'm about to marry the love of my life...

She put a hand on his shoulder...

Meggy: You've been more then a friend to me Mario, you've been my family. My dorky, weird, spaghetti loving brother in a way...I can't think of any other way to say this, but...thank you. For everything.

Mario was just...speechless. For the first time in his life, he really couldn't think of any stupid comeback. He barely managed a small chuckle.

Mario: Hehe, I guess you've also been like a sister to me Meggy. I'm a lot more mature now, that's for sure.

Meggy: I guess we both helped each-other in more ways then one...

Mario: Yeah, I guess so...

The two shared a hug, a friendship that spanned into a family that could shock the world.

Mario: Now can we get going? People are waiting and I need to get out of this tuxedo.

Meggy: Hahaha! Sure, let's get going Red.

Helping her up, the two walked out the door...

Smg4 came running down the stairs...

Smg4: She's coming, everyone shut up!

Saiko: Shut it you lot!

Saiko quickly managed to silence the whole room.

Smg4: Whew. Thanks Saiko.

Saiko: No problem.

Smg4 got a thumbs up from Luigi, giving a point to Bob as he nodded to a group of Tellytubies as they all started playing.

Everyone turned their heads to see Meggy at the top of the stairs, slowly walking down. She locked eyes at Tari, both blushing.

Her parents were just beaming with pride, Meggy's mom tearing up.

Charlotte: Our little girl's all grown up...

Norman: Yeah, never thought I'd see the day...

Meggy reached the alter, Mario giving her a pat on the back as he stood nearby it. Meggy and Tari just took a moment to look At each-other.

Meggy: You...look really pretty Tari..."p

Tari: Th-thanks...

Luigi stepped up to the podium.

Luigi: Ladies and gentlemen, we are gathered here today to commemorate the joining of two of our dearest friends in matrimony.

In the back, Desti whispered to Smg4.

Desti (Whispering): Why is Luigi the officiant?

Smg4 (Whispering): He has a lot of jobs. Now shush!

Back at the front...

Luigi: So, I believe the two of you prepared your own vows?

Both nodded.

Luigi: Alright. Tari, you wanna go first?

She blushed, feeling the whole room staring at her. But she took a deep breath and spoke from the heart.

Tari: Meggy...when I first met you, I was just a lonely gamer girl who wanted to just...play video games until the day I died. Now thanks to you and...all our friends, I have something truly special that I wouldn't give up for the world. A family of my own.

Meggy blushed, while a few in their seats smiled. Luigi seemed to be the most affected, tearing up.

Luigi (Snivelling): Okay, that was more emotional then I prepared for...(Sniff)

The girls looked at him with confused expressions.

Luigi: I'm sorry...Meggy, you may speak.

Shaking her head, she got back in the game.

Meggy: Tari, I...I...

She stuttered on her words, trying to think. She looked into Tari's beautiful blue eyes and had the strength to speak...

Meggy: I usually thrive under stress just fine. But standing here, looking at you...I feel more overwhelmed then ever. Tari, You're amazing, kind, funny and very romantic. I don't know what the future holds, but...what I can tell...is that I can't imagine spending it without you.

Tari blushed...

Luigi (Chocking): Do you-? (Deep gasp for air)

Mario: Bro, do you...need me to take over?

Luigi: (Sniff) No...No, I can power through this. Tari, do you take Meggy to be your lawfully wedded wife, to love and cherish, care for and protect, in sickness and health, for long as you both shall live?

Tari: I do.

Luigi (Mentally breaking): And Meggy, same thing?!

Meggy: I do.

Luigi: (Trying not to cry) Then by the power invested in me, by Even-you-can-officiate-weddings.com, I now pronounce you officially married! (Last bit of strength) You may now kiss!

The ceremony sealed as Tari and Meggy leaned in, kissing each-other with love and passion. The crowds erupted into cheers and yells while Luigi fell victim to "emotional overwhelming" and hugged Mario. He just rolled his eyes and patted his back.

Mario: There there bro, you got through it.

The whole room was in an uproar of cheers and congratulations...

But all Meggy and Tari could hear were the Fireworks and explosions in their heads as they finally had each-other, linked together forever.

And as they broke off and turned to all their cheering friends, Meggy looked to the crowds...to her daughter.

She could only smile...

For deep down, she felt that non of this could've happened...if Crystal were never born.

And for that, she was proud to call Crystal her daughter...

Wow. Truth be told, I never thought I would ever get this far.

I fell in love with the Smg4 franchise back when the Waluigi arc was still starting. I fell in love with Meggy's character after her destiny movie. And I loved both seasons of Meta runner when they released.

It wasn't until last year that I really though "Hey, what if I made my own story combining everything I love with my own special twist?" That special twist was the character of Crystal.

I absolutely loved designing a character on my own, seeing how she'd change the lives of Meggy and everyone's lives. This has been my first and one of my biggest passion projects and it brings a tear to my eye knowing this book Is finished...

But you know what they say, "The journey to success starts with a single step!" So this story isn't completely finished just yet!

I plan to add some mini follow ups showing this family far in the future, probably after a while, but until then...
