Ch.07: The right way of be a human
02:38, 29 November 2022The next few days of the internship week got pretty much like the first: harsh training in the morning, afternoon studies, and talk at night.
Yeah, talk at night.
Mandla thinks communication is very important to expose what we have inside our hearts, and with that gain acknowledgment of what truly resides deep inside ourselves.
On the first night, Katsuki thought nothing of it and choose to stay quiet, but this changed a bit on the third night when all of them are sitting around a bonfire under the stars.
Sisipho is opening up herself without shame, just like the other days. Mandla asked her about the attack at USJ and what she felt back then.
"I really thought about killing that weird handy guy, umama."
"What stopped you?" Katsuki got intrigued that she didn't scold her as any other hero/parent would do.
"I remember of you. What stopped me was acknowledging that all lives matter and must be respected, even the worst ones. So I just focused on stopping him so he can pay before the law."
"Hm, you did good, intomba. As a hero, we must preserve any life, no matter who it is."
"So you never would kill someone? Even if it hurts Sisipho?" the boy voiced his confusion, the first time talking that night.
"If I still have an option, I'll choose to preserve life. This doesn't mean I would let Sisipho or anyone gets hurt, but that I have the power and knowledge to save them in other ways."
"So you're against violence?" now Sisipho snorted hearing this.
"No, Bakugou. Violence is a weapon to stop villains and I use it wisely. I can see you don't know about my reputation on the underground." he frowned confused and look at Sisipho.
"Umama is the most aggressive hero known because she uses her combat skills to stop villains and doesn't hold back at all."
"Or as you kids like to say, I beat the shit out of everyone in my path." she smiled at them laugh. "Don't mistake the choice of kill as the last recourse with weakness, young Bakugou. Only the strong ones defeat the enemies without using death. Death is easy. Sisipho and I can kill dozens of people without moving a muscle. Also, you can kill someone easily with your quirk. Do you think I would be strong doing this?"
"No... You would turn into a villain." his answer satisfied her.
"Exactly. The more you kill, the more you want it to do again. If a person, hero or not, only uses death to solve the problems, this will slowly poison the heart and destroy everything inside them."
"Hm... What more do you use to stop a villain then?" Mandla is happy to see him participating in their talk moment. This is the perfect opportunity to end any doubts about being a hero.
Katsuki liked a lot of the time they spent talking that night, for the first time. The subjects kept changing and both teens learned a lot from the wise woman, that taught not only about her career but also the essence of being a human in this world; our rights but most importantly our duties with all living beings.
That night, the ash-blonde boy slept very satisfied with his choice of internship.
--✨--
The next day, Mandla woke up the teens before sunrise. Katsuki is beyond pissed at it, not seeing a reason for this. Sisipho is laughing at his sore mood and scowl.
The woman made both get in their costumes, saying they have a mission inside the forest. The boy got a bit excited by hearing this, but also confused.
"Who the fuck is inside the forest?!" he whispered to Sisi while they walk behind Mandla.
"Wait and see~!" she winked, not wanting to spoil anything her mother prepared. Again the girl is using her blindfold as a tiara, looking like a copy of her mother.
"You stopped using the tape over your eyes." he comment as if wasn't nothing, eyes on the tall trees around them, carefully avoiding the roots.
"Of course!! This place is a paradise for me. The only thing I need to worry about and that can overwhelm me is the animals... And you~"
"Fuck you." he rolled his eyes, happy that she isn't hiding her stunning orbs.
After some minutes of hiking, they reached a small cliff, from up there is possible to see an area where the trees are more distant from each other, leaving space for some animals to run freely. Mandla turned to them, hands on her hips.
"Starting with you, Bakugou. What do you see?"
"Trees? Bushes?" not what she wanted to hear.
"Use your brain, boy. Think outside the box, as a hero. What is before your eyes that can be useful to learn?"
Katsuki's eyes ran attentively around the area, trying to find what she mean by this.
"Let me help you." motioning for both to crouch down, Mandla did the same between them, passing her arms around their shoulders. "What type of place will you be most of the time as a hero? A forest?"
"Fucking no, I'll work on the city!"
"What here is similar to the city?"
"The trees, just tall as the buildings."
"Good. And who is on the ground?" she smirked at him.
"The noise civilians, that are like those wild pigs down there."
"You're starting to get the image, so keep this in mind. Today we'll chase some villains!"
"What? The pigs?"
"More important than capturing the villain, what do we need to do before that?" Sisipho raised her hand, eager to answer. "Intomba?"
"We need to be able to move around quickly and silently, without falling from the roofs, and never alert the enemy!"
"Do you get it now, Bakugou?" he nodded at Mandla. "No matter the type of chase, stealthy or loud, the best path to do it is by the roofs, more specifically the edge of the roofs. That way we can keep our eyes always on our target and get it by surprise!"
"Got it. So we'll use the trees to train our balance and try to catch the pigs?!"
"Yes, but I'll add one more challenge to you."
"BE IT!" he's excited to start.
"You will not use your quirk on the first rounds. I want you to be as stealthy as you can, because if you like it or not, in some situations we just have this choice, mostly when a hostage is involved. So try to not scare the animals away!"
"How can I climb a fucking building or tree without my quirk?"
"Is your job to find out, hero Bakugou!" he smiled a bit with that but kept his scowl.
"Whatever... What about Sisipho?!" he eyed the girl who was only enjoying the lesson. Mandla made a sight to her and she immediately jumped the cliff straight to a tree, gripping firmly at the trunk and climbing to the largest branch.
Katsuki is flabbergasted with her agility, like this was nothing, just in a few seconds.
"Don't worry about her, Sisi was born in this forest, she knows very well how to climb. I'll keep her down here to test the limits of her quirk, while you do the same she did now. Go to a tree and find a large branch to walk on it, just like an edge of a building, then jump to the next. Got it?"
Katsuki nodded to her and removed the parts of his costume that will slow him down, like the bombs on his forearm. Going to a tree close to the cliff, he put a hand on it and analyzed.
Soon the boy was climbing to the top, walking on the branch, and jumping to the next. Mandla is satisfied with his determination and confidence. This is essential to a hero, and with that, he'll be able to adapt and act precisely in unexpected situations.
"This kid is good... I'll love to see him turning into a pro hero." the woman said turning to her daughter, who was watching him in awe. "I'll also love to see him turning into my son-in-law~!"
"STOP!" Sisipho blushed, moving away to start her training.
"What? A mother can't dream? It's too much of me to want a strong mate for my baby?"
"UMAMA!" her flushed cheeks made Mandla laugh hard, she just loves to tease the girl.
"Okay, okay. Pretend I said nothing..."
"Thank you!" she rolled her eyes.
"And I'll pretend that I don't see nothiiing~!"
Groaning, Sisipho ignored her. Focusing on the matter, Mandla kept an eye on Bakugou and other on her daughter. The girl is canalizing her essence and using it to hit a tree. After only thirty minutes, Mandla wanted them to do more.
"C'mon! Bakugou, quieter! You're scaring all animals away!"
"FUCK!" was heard from the distance, the boy on the other side of the forest already.
"Sisipho, keep focused on attacking the tree and dodge the rocks I'll throw at you."
"Rocks, umama?! OUCH!" one rock hit her arm.
"Blindfold down and sensing everything. GO!"
Both tried to keep up with what she said. Sisi can already feel her insides turning with the abuse of essence used. It's becoming harder to focus on the rocks and a lot of them are hitting her hard.
"Focus, Sisipho! If these were bullets instead of rocks you would be already dead!"
"I'm dying, ok?!" she can already feel the taste of blood.
"I know, intomba. But keep going, you need need to keep up for more than one hour, that's the goal! YIBAMBE, SISIPHO!"
"YIBAMBE!" the girl responded, giving everything to it.
Keeping the rocks going at the girl, Mandla ran over the trees until Bakugou. The boy is doing a great job, even tired, he didn't stop once. Going from tree to tree, yet still a bit loud for the woman.
"Stop, Bakugou!" she got his attention, approaching his tree. "Do you know where you are now?"
"If you want to know... If I know how to go back... Fucking yes..." he said panting hard because this is his first break.
"Good, so now go catch the villain who is attacking an innocent tree." Mandla is smirking, watching his realization.
"You want me to fight Sisipho?!"
"No, I want you to approach her silently and put her down. She's focusing on dodging the rocks I'm throwing at her, so possibly she'll not feel you."
"Possible?" he groaned, whipping the sweat running down his face. "So be it, Mandla. I'll fucking kill her."
"I know you won't. Be quick and silent. If you fail, I'll be your next target."
"Fuck..." laughing, Mandla ran back to her daughter. Throwing more rocks and yelling commands at her. The woman is purposely overwhelming her senses, trying to simulate a real occasion. Sisipho needs to learn to ignore unnecessary pieces of information and keep attentive to the real danger:
Humans.
Mandla can already feel the boy getting closer. He's very quiet now, even his breathing controlled. Katsuki is trying hard to win on the first chance.
By the way Sisipho still focusing on her movements, she can tell the girl forgot to keep an eye on the boy. He was already in Mandla's eyesight, and now she noticed that Katsuki is barefoot and removed his gloves too. More points for him for this, due to that being the best way to climb and adapt the body to these different options of locomotion.
Katsuki is a few trees away from the black girl. He already can see her and get what Amazon means by throwing rocks. She's full of bruises and her nose is bleeding, reaching her physical limit. Wanting to take advantage of this, he quickly moved to the next tree and decided to jump from it.
Silently, Katsuki jumped down, ready to trap her under his body. However, when he was in mid-air, Sisipho turned to him. She got scared by sensing him out of nowhere so close and both fell on the floor.
Well, at least Sisipho did.
By reflex, the girl put her hands up and was able to hold him in place. She fell, and Katsuki is over her, but they were not touching due to her quirk that froze him completely.
"Fuck, you witch!" Katsuki is completely exhausted.
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING?" she got silenced by her mom's humming. The woman walked around them inspecting the final result.
"Hmm... I think this is a draw. Katsuki was able to be quiet, quick, and effective, getting Sisi off guard. However intomba, you also managed to sense him while being overwhelmed. Almost too late, but did. Congratulations, you two. I'm proud of the results."
Both sighed in relief, and the weak girl end up releasing Katsuki over her, who fell face down on her soft chest.
"WHAT THE FUCK?!" he yelled all embarrassed, moving out of her.
"Sorry... Too weak..." she mumbles, without the strength to even turn on her side.
"Of course, you're leaking again!"
"Leaking?" Mandla snorted at this odd choice of word. The smartwatch on her started to ring, signaling a new important message. "Hm... The agency needs me. I have to go."
"What? Aren't you taking us to a field lesson?" he asked disappointed.
"Not this one, Bakugou. I'm not going to the field now. Don't worry, we still have three more days to do it, and trust me, weekends are the best days to hunt villains down." she winked at him, who accepted her answer. "Please take care of my daughter."
"WAIT! WHAT?!" he tried to stop the woman, but she just ran away for her mission. "Fuck..."
"Be with me is this bad~?" Sisipho joked, getting up from the floor with struggle.
"Shut up, leaking girl." both started to walk back to the cabin.
Katsuki is ahead, leading the way. He's good at memorizing things, so is easy to tell where he needs to go. What isn't easy is to ignore the slow girl behind him.
Honestly, he's waiting for the black girl to ask for help or complain about the situation, but Sisipho is just enduring quietly, holding her stomach with the left hand and using the other as support against the trees.
"Are you good, Choco?" he stopped a bit to wait for her. She only nodded, keeping on the way. "Are you sure? You look like you're fucking dying."
"Thanks... Your sweet compliments always made my day, Kat~" she joked, still walking, and pulling the blindfold up to her hair.
"At least your costume has shoes instead of those damn heels most women insist to use."
"Honestly, the stocking and gloves are ideas from the Yuei's designers. My original costume just had the dress and the blindfold."
"Bullshit! Why did you let them put those then?"
"I found it cute. My mom says it gives me a more sexy aura." he gulped at the way she said this, internally screaming in agreement. "Also, the original design was black, but white suits me better, hehe."
"So damn full of yourself, Chocogirl!" he snorted, still attentive to her slow walk, ready to help if she falls or anything. "Now you look like a damn nurse."
"See? A sexy nurse to the rescue~!"
"SHUT UP! You don't even heal anybody."
"Who told you that?!" she smirked at his confusion.
"What now? You can heal?!"
"Duh? I can manipulate cells, how the fuck I can not heal someone?"
"WHY YOU DIDN'T SAY ANYTHING BEFORE?!"
"Because I'm not a damn support! I am the main carry here, ok?!"
"Is this a fucking game now? The main carry can heal too you dumbass!"
"But I can't use it too much. It takes off of me as much as the manipulation of my essence. Umama believes that if I try to heal a big disease or injury I must end up dying."
"Geez, you're full of drawbacks, fucking boring..."
"The gods knew that if they gave me more qualities it would be too much for this world to handle, so I'm not complaining." she shrugged her shoulders, making Katsuki chuckle.
"You're really something, Sisipho..." he shook his head.
"Ooooh~ did Katsuki Bakugou just acknowledge my name for the first time? My gods, I'm about to cry." Sisi wiped away her fake tears and the boy poked her head away. "Ouch!"
"Shut up and be faster or well only arrive tomorrow at the cabin!"
"Be faster? Okay!" forcing Katsuki to kneel, Sisipho jumped on his back, piggybacking him. "AHOY, SILVER!"
"I FUCKING HATE YOU!" he screamed when he felt his legs obligatorily following her commands. "I AM NOT YOUR HORSE, YOU DAMN-"
Katsuki almost fell when her control stopped abruptly. He holds firmly her thighs around his torso, turning into a blushing mess with the feeling of her soft skin against his callous hands.
"F-Fuck you, witch! What now?" he got more flustered when she pressed her cheek on his neck, sighing and murmuring.
"Sorry... I'm really out now-" and then she was out cold. Before the boy started to panic, her soft snores calmed him a bit, knowing that she was just exhausted.
"The things you make me do... The things you do to me, Chocogirl... Fuck." he groaned, trying to focus only on the way back home.
Surely it was a long and tempting way back.
good luck trying to ignore Sisipho's adorableness, cuz i'm all hers already ahauahauhauahasee ya~!
