Chapter 37
00:59, 31 July 2021A/N
Yo!
I swear this story is getting too long. Like I planned over 40+ parts before the Shippuden and we're still at number 14.
And I got a request to write a lemon scene.
Dude...
I'm barely eighteen.
But my mind is not innocent...
It's full of green grass hehehehe
But on serious note I'm gonna write one soon enough...I think...
I already got an idea.
It's my first time writing a mature scene so, it's probably gonna be a little cringey...or bad. Really really bad...
I don't trust myself on this one...
Finally! Lhexi's Battle is here!
It's quite saddening that Sakura lost her match but, hey she was applauded for her strength and wit.
Tohru's POV
So fragile and delicate, that was my first impression of Lhexi. She's so frail like a flower that if I'm not careful, I might break her.
Yet, it doesn't quite felt right. Behind that innocence resembling a rose, she has hidden poisonous thorns that can kill a giant from the slightest cut. That's right, or else, she wouldn't have survived up until now in this cruel world.
I stood still, my eyes fixated infront watching her as she gracefully land on her feet. Her descisive eyes moved in my direction and my heart skipped a beat.
It's as if God himself crafted those eyes from gems.
She looked so weak compared to me but, the aura around her proved otherwise.
It's warning danger.
"I can see that you've gotten stronger, Lhexi.", my tounge slightly quivered just by mentioning her name.
"I've trained harder than i could ever imagine.", she cracked her knuckles.
She didn't changed more like improved to become a better version of herself.
My gaze moved down to her wrist, finding the bracelet I gave her years ago still there.
A token of eternal friendship. A childish pinky promise.
And yet right here, right now, we're facing each other in a deadly battle.
"BEGIN!"
I stood still watching her disappear right before my eyes, reappearing behind me. My kekkei genkei acted at once freezing her katana on place before it sliced through my neck.
I could feel the cold wind brash against my skin as she jump away leaving her weapon midair. Turning around, I stick my right forefinger and middle finger to freeze the kunai that was advancing towards me.
To my surprise, another followed aimed on the dead center of my forehead, covering the line of my vision for a split second. Dodging the kunai by tilting my head, I felt a sharp stinging sensation on my cheek.
I took out a kunai with a sharp blade on either side, holding it in the center while blocking Lhexi's katana. I could feel my feet get engraved on the ground by the amount of power she was pressing against me.
I ran over her sword with my frost and she tilted it just a little a bit then I found blood gushing out of the thin but, deep cut on my abdomen.
"Huh?"
It was so fast, I couldn't even see what she did. It didn't quite felt painful until it registered in my brain after a few seconds. And it that span of several seconds, I received another wound on my arm.
My breath hitched as I stumble backwards, clutching the trobbing sensation on my stomach. I couldn't believe what just transpired, my frost release wasn't fast enough to freeze her attacks.
I don't have much of a choice. Smearing blood on my fingers, I lowered down and touched the ground.
"Kuchiyose no jutsu!"
13 white wolves with a size twice bigger than my body appeared surrounding Lhexi and I. The leader of the pack, with a scar running over his left eye stood beside me, his great form catching the eyes of many. He manacingly growled at Lhexi after seeing my dishiveled form.
"YUMA!!", I yelled at the largest wolf and they all simultaneously attacked the kunoichi infront of me.
They all fought in syncronization, defending and attacking at the same time trying to catch Lhexi off guard as they slash their claws against her. She seems to be calm while dodging their attacks knocking out a few without hurting them or using a lightning jutsu to neutralize them.
However, she underestimated Yuma.
He's my strongest summon and definitely he's tougher than any wolf out there. He's the alpha for a reason.
"Wind Style! Wind Breakthrough!"
"Lightning Style! Thunder Clap!"
To think that she could cast two strong ninjutsus at the same time.
'Lhexi...you really have grown strong...but, Yuma possess a fur even stronger than a chakra armor. He wouldn't be easily defeated by those ninjutsus.'
Lhexi took a leap away after seeing that her attacks were useless against him. Yuma leaped from his position, his fangs almost ripping away Lhexi's head if she didn't moved on time. He growled as he breathed out a thick white waft of air through his fangs.
"You hurted my master.", he started with his deep and hoarse voice startling even me. "You should be prepared of what's to come, you mere human...!"
Even from a distance, I could feel that he was accumulating a ball of chakra in his mouth. The temperature turned freezing cold, an air ofdust encircle him. Frost slowly covered the ground reaching up their way to the whole arena, enveloping every person's seat with a brittle white solid.
Animal summons are more prone to absorb the nature energy around them rather than using their own chakra. That's why, right now, the massive energy ball in between his sharp teeth could definitely obliterate everything on its way.
Lhexi just stood there, flipping and turning around her katana nonchalantly.
'Isn't she scared at the very least? She will definitely die if she won't make a move...'
He growled in his breath as he release the energy ball towards her. She leaned slightly forward, her hand was on her katana that was attached on her hip. Sliding a small step behind, she muttered something beneath her lips.
"First Style: Scattering Lightning Sakura Petals..."
The moment I blinked, I was on the other side of the arena, Yuma was basically attached on the wall with a partially big crack. I heard him whine before I released the summon and all of them disappeared into a poof of smoke.
I felt something underneath my feet, looking down my eyes widened as my knees buckle on the ground.
My eyes wondered towards her. An image of a young girl dissapeared and was replaced by a strong kunoichi, the flowers around her turning to swords and thorns.
Soon after, I felt numbness with my body I slowly fell forward and met a sturdy platform. I tiredly opened my eyes.
"You okay? Tohru-chi.", she eyesmiled at me and I chuckled a little.
"Yeah...", was all I could muster before we moved out of the arena after the proctor declared Lhexi as the winner.
My arm was hanging around her neck as she held me by my back walking through the halls silently.
"...sorry...", I muttered underneath my breath.
She looked at me with those intoxicating eyes before she bursted into fits of giggles.
"What?", I was embarassed.
She turned away covering her lips with the hem of her sleeves.
"Nothing~", she teased. She looked forward, a relaxed expression on her face. "To be frank, I should thank you. I heard you saved my mom from bandits. If it wasn't for you, she could have lost her ability to walk. Anyways, why did you have to lie to the point of even threatening me?"
My eyes widened in guilt before looking down. "My older brother died a year ago...", I started. He was one of the few people, important to me.
She remained silent and I continued on. "I never felt so much pain and sadness my whole life. It hurted so much, I thought I was gonna die. The fear of losing a loved one made me determined to protect them. Lhexi...you're precious to me...that's why I don't want to lose you. I was so scared I couldn't even understand what I was doing...all I wish for is for you to be safe...but it was all for naught...I'm such an idi--!"
She hushed me with her forefinger on my lips.
"Never say anything like that again.", she turned slightly towards me and cupped my cheeks in between her palms before showering me with praise. "You're amazing, strong, cool, caring, kind, loving, handsome, cute and a beautiful human being."
Her eyes bore through me, not the very least fidgeting. My heart warmed and a fluffy feeling bursted in my stomach. Before I knew it, I had my arms wrapped around her, embracing her tightly.
I always wished to meet her again safe and sound, I wanted to see her smile and laugh like how when we were kids. But, the shinobi life corrupted her and I couldn't see the same light in those eyes. I thought I would lose her like what happened to my brother.
I had this urge inside me to protect her because I was always worrying nonstop. I'm such a fool, she's a kunoichi for god's sake, a strong one at that. Why would she need protection from someone who's weak?
She have trained hard for this. She earned her way through to come this far. Like what she said, she needs to get strong to protect her loved ones. I was doing the same thing, but in a different approach.
Lhexi is all I have left, I don't want to lose her.
"Lhexi! I promise one day, I'll get strong enough you can rely on me! I'll protect you with my life!"
She eyesmiled at me and ruffled my hair.
"Hai Hai, Mr. Crybaby.", she chuckled and stroked my cheeks wiping the tears, I didn't knew were streaming down my face.
"Oh! Kyuuji-sensei!", my attention drifted to the mysterious man walking towards us, two people behind him.
Lhexi seems to be comfortable around this guy and I bowed a little showing respect.
He nodded at me before suddenly glaring down at the girl beside me.
"There were two mistakes. One, your timing was incorrect. Two, your stance is completely different from what I taught to you.", Lhexi sweatdropped at his overly strict remark. He fwipped out his book and lightly hit her on her forehead.
"Oi! Oi! Aren't you being a little too strict, Taichou!? She did a good job back then. To be able to slice through that ball of energy, that was an amazing feat!", the blue haired woman behind him exclaimed as she gives a big thumbs up.
"Hikari-san is right. I believe she deserves a praise.", the pale man added.
This man called Kyuuji crossed his arms before silently narrowing his eyes. He raised his hand and softly patted her hair then walked away.
"What was that for?", I asked to myself.
"TAICHOU! YOU CALL THAT A PRAISE!? HEY! THE KID DESERVES MORE THAN THAT!"
The pale man tilted his body a little to look as he place his hand on his chin. "Hikari-san, I think she loves it. She looks quite content."
"Is that so? HAHAHAHA!"
I shifted slightly and saw a tomatoe red Lhexi. Blinking my eyes, I wondered what could that guy have done. I've never seen her get quite flustered like this.
"U-uhm! We'll get going now! Hurry up Tohru-chi!", she took my hand and began dashing out of the halls.
Wincing a little from the wound on my stomach, Lhexi slowed down a little before letting me rest on one of the seats then performed iryo ninjutsu on me. She kept surprising me again and again, really this girl.
"Oi! Aren't ya done yet?"
The voice came from Oka. I tried to stand up only to be pushed down by Lhexi.
"I made sure the cut won't hit your vital organs but, I can't let you bleed all over like this.", she explained.
Oka sat beside me and hummed a music as he watch Lhexi perform medical ninjutsu.
"Takeda...Takeda...", he repeated in a monotone voice as he crease his eyebrows, looking a little distressed. "I'm sure I've heard of that name before. Argh...! But where?!"
"It's my last name you brat!", our attention fled to the old man standing infront of us, a fan on his hand.
"Shishou!", Oka exclaimed before rubbing the back of his head. "Oh right right! I forgot. Hahaha...haha...ha...ha?"
He looked at Lhexi then to his master before looking back at the girl again. "WAIT! WAIT! WHAT?!"
'Took him long enough....'
"Eichiru-jiichan! Kaa-san! Fuu!", Lhexi gave a bright smile to her family as she stand up. I looked down at my wounds to see my skin completely healed. That was faster than I thought.
"JIICHAN!? ALEXA!? YOU'RE SHISHOU'S GRANDDAUGHTER!?"
I smacked him behind his head. "Yeah. You're right. Now shut it."
"Sorry sorry...", he grumbled in his breath as he sat uptight. "So that's how she could control my Twin Demon Fuma Blades...ofcourse he would teach it to his grandchild...but what the hell is she doing in Leaf? Shouldn't she be in our village?"
I remained silent. His last question also had been in my mind for days eversince I saw her serving Konoha. Tch. It irritates me that she have to choose the strongest village rather than ours.
Just why, Lhexi?
What's your motive?
I touched the bracelet on my wrist, a similar one on Lhexi's.
I remembered the day she left.
Flashback
Fuu was crying beside me and I remained silent as I try to hold back my tears. The three of us have been stuck together eversince Lhexi introduced us to each other. Why did she have to leave anyway?
It's just been a year since we met but, that was a long time for me. I rubbed the back of Fuu as she cry even harder. Fuu used to be bullied in our village, all I know is that she's the jinchuuriki of the seven tails like what my brother warned me.
She was dangerous they say.
But she was just as blubbly as me and I smiled a little at the thought. Ofcourse she would cry if the one who always stood up for her suddenly goes away.
I jolted a little when I heard the door open and I immediately blocked Lhexi's pathway as she hold a huge box in her hands.
"What's wrong you guys?", she asked acting clueless.
I pinched both of her cheeks and she spoke in a mushy voice. "Tohru-chi? Whacha doing? I have to get jish to the main gate."
"You can't leave!", I yelled.
I heard Fuu whisper my name in a worried tone. "Tohru..."
Lhexi just stared at my face. "Sorry Tohru-chi but, I have to."
"Why?! We're happy together! If you leave, Fuu and I-I are gonna be lonely.", I pinched her cheeks harder until they got red.
She eyesmiled and made our foreheads touch together. "I need to go okay? And its not like I'll be gone forever. It's just a few years. I promise I'll come back home."
Few years...?
What if she forgets about us...?
"No! I do not give you permission!", I let go of her cheeks and spread out my hands.
She just ducked and she was already past me. "H-hey!" She walked towards Fuu before carefully placing the box on the ground.
She bent down a little, then wiped away her tears gently.
"I'll be back soon...I promise...so be strong for me okay?"
"Hic--'kay...", Fuu nodded still crying.
I looked away frustrated and mad before shoving my hand in my pocket and grabbed Lhexi's hand swiftly. I placed a bracelet on her wrist then attached mine to myself.
I felt her cold hands on my arms and I watched her knot the bracelet on the ends of it. I stretched out my pinky finger and motioned her to do the same.
"Then...promise me...!"
As she did so, I wrapped my pinky around hers. "We'll be friends together forever okay?"
"Hm! I promise!", she grinned and shaked our attached pinkies a little.
She left me and proceeded to hug Fuu who kept weeping. I smiled as the heavy burden in my chest lighten. Still, I'm aware Lhexi knows I was still mad at her.
"Tohru!", I was shaken off my thoughts when Fuu yelled my name.
I looked at her and she grinned at me. "That was a good fight. Although Lhexi is still the best!"
They all chuckled and I silently grumbled to myself. "Says the one who wasn't even elected for the chunin exams."
She sticked her tounge out and stomped on the floor. "Hmmph! If I was chosen I would have beaten you to a pulp."
"Say that once you defeat me. As far as I can remember you lost to all our duels in the past."
Her ears turned red in embarassment and I smirked at how she reacted afterwards. "S-shut up! I was holding back you know!"
I looked down at the arena, my eyes twitching at the sight of the Uchiha and his sensei appearing in a swirl of leaves.
'Showoff...'
The raven haired boy looked up and took a quick glance at Lhexi, approving her of her previous match with me. I glared daggers at him and dragged Lhexi to sit next to me.
She just looked at me with questionable eyes and lightly giggled. I could feel heat lighting up my cheeks.
As much as I don't wanna admit, I was jealous.
Alexa's POV
Feathers fell down and I immediately released the genjutsu looking beside Mom and Fuu who was fast asleep. Tohru and Oka already broke out of the genjutsu as they stand on guard panicking slightly.
"Tohru! Oka! Prepare yourselves! The Sand Village is attacking Konoha!", Jiichan yelled as he kicked down one or two Sand nins sending them flying.
"This is fucking stupid!", I smiled at Oka's annoyed shout as he hold back himself from burning the enemy into crisps for civilians might get hurt.
"Oka! Behind you!", Tohru yelled but, I was quick on my feet and immediately pierced through the man's throat with my katana, his body dropped on the ground.
He looked back at me before grinning. "That's so cruel of you, Alexa. You didn't even hesitated"
I looked at him with a serious expression. "Don't let your guard down."
I moved towards Jiichan and whispered something. "Protect Fuu and mom for now. I need to go somewhere."
Twisting my sword, I stabbed the woman who attempted to catch me off-guard.
"It's not yet the right time, Lhexi.", he whispered in a strict tone.
Turning around, my back now facing him I looked up at the stadium where Kakashi-sensei and Guy-sensei were competing for who could defeat more enemies. "This is my chance. It's now or never."
"Do whatever you like. Just come back home alive. If Matilda were to lose you too--I won't be able to face her.", I felt like carrying heavy boulder on my shoulders.
I turned my heels around and gave him a gentle smile. I can't promise him when I don't even know for sure whether I'll survive or not.
I ran outside the stadium to the streets where mostly Sand and Leaf shinobis were fighting. Slicing through one or two ninjas, I sprinted to a dark alley where no one can see me. Removing my usual clothes, I replaced them with a black clothing, hiding every inch of my skin.
My cloak flapped slightly as I raise the hood over my head and I looked down at the broken shard of mirror on the wall. I watch the girl stare back at me with two swords attached behind her back, the light in her eyes fading away for they were succumbing to the darkness.
The oni masked I used to conceal my chakra signature and my face hid away the smile that twitched into a malicious one.
Asuna's soul and I combined, our voice two in one. "I've been waiting for five years for this day to come...finally...I could turn those laughs into screams of agony...!", I hissed to myself before forming a one handed ram sign.
In that moment, Konoha didn't know of the real enemy lurking in the darkness slowly revealing itself.
The ground shook violently as the paper bombs that I have secretly attached all around the village simultaneouly explode. Buildings shooked aggressively before they crumbled down.
I could hear the cries of the people as I walk pass them, enjoying the thrilling screams that brought euphoria to my nerves.
My visions flashed red, tainting the debris and roads with blood.
That was all I could see that I believed I already have gone insane by the shrilling number of people I've killed from just the tip of my finger.
And it's only the first minute.
A/N
This is so dark...
The story was intended to be dark-themed at first...but...this...
So our girl have gone batshit crazy now because of Asuna's influence.
