Chapter 10- Konoha
16:39, 7 May 2023Alexa's POV
My eyes unfolded wide as I extended my hands out.
I looked around and saw their stares fixed upon me but, I dismissed it. The wagon I was in shook and I hugged tightly to my backpack shoved with scrolls.
I rested my hand on the tear gem necklace below my neck simply in the middle of my collarbone. I yanked my hair and nestled in a ball while sitting as I heave innumerable subtle breaths, glancing down below on the bottom.
I glimpsed outside and the sun prevailed up tall in the sky. The carriage halted suddenly and people embarked to go out. I came next and they started withdrawing money from their pouches as they pay someone.
A hand was abruptly outstretched to my face.
"Pay up.", I brought out my wallet and unlocked it. "1000 Ryo.", I bucked up at him and took out the paper, and handed out it to him. He fled to another passenger.
I sported my backpack and peered in alarm at the massive thresholds in front of me. It was larger than I assumed. And there they proudly sat as they scan over the whole village, then Four Hokage Statues.
I started striding towards when my body suddenly turned heavy, I couldn't seize any more steps. Perhaps, I was terrified. No.
It was my body who was scared. I inhaled and exhaled deeply before emptying my mind. I tapped my shoulders multiple times before it calmed down and I began walking again.
I saw a familiar figure standing near the guards and I ran towards him.
"Tatsumi-jiisan!", I yelled as I wave my hand up in the air as he did also.
People were lined up as they sign some form as the guards strictly looked into their belongings.
"You're finally here.", I smiled.
"Well. Ojiisan, where would I stay?"
"Don't rush. I've prepared it already for you.", he chuckled as I nodded.
I heard a thud and looked down behind to see my book that slipped out of the unzipped bag. Picking it up I heard the whistling of the wind as some shinobis run past us at a crazy speed without even making any sound.
I smiled and thought I had to learn that soon.
Third Person's POV
The young man flinched in his treads and peered back at the black-haired girl who was conversing with somebody.
"What's wrong, Kyuuji?", he stared in front and saw Guy blinking his eyes as he glanced back at him.
"Nothing.", Guy nodded before they kept on running and hopped from a tree to another.
He shut his eyes.
'What was I thinking? That girl is already dead.'
He opened them once again and he calmly head over to their mission.
The girl settled the book back inside her bag and brightened then smiled.
"You okay?"
"Yes.", they chattered for a bit and she followed Tatsumi to the guards as they began writing something on a paper as they question her.
They rummaged through her bag and found nothing but, books and clothes.
'Their security sucks.', she reckoned in her head and they began strolling passing the shops and stalls.
"This place is bigger than I thought.", she mumbled out loud.
"Right?!", she chuckled.
"Mm..."
They sauntered through alleys and she adored the striking and warm vibe but, never a second did she feel at ease. After all, she's in the enemy's basement.
She saw a considerable and wide compound and saw Yamanaka's symbol painted on the walls and narrowed her eyes.
'This is bad.'
They strode through further streets before eventually halting in front of a building.
"Here.", she took the key. "It's Room 07.", she nodded before giving thanks and dashed towards her apartment.
Opening the door, she instantly ran inside and shut it. All the smile she held onto her complexion earlier chopped down and it turned awry to a horrified look filled with terror and contempt. She sloped her back on the door and fell, sitting.
'This is not a dream...'
'I'm here.'
'Konoha...'
Her hand moved to her face and covered her eyes as she began laughing like a maniac.
"I'm scared...Hahahahaha..."
She eventually settled down at some point but, she still had her guards up. She wandered around first and the apartment was filled with all she needed except for clothes, hygienic materials, and food.
Discarding the fingerless glove on her left hand she glanced at the seal placed on it, she unlocked it and a poof was heard as a huge number of scrolls and books were messily scattered.
She picked them one by one and began arranging them to empty shelves. The day finished and she plopped on the bed as she sigh and looked towards the moon. She stood up and walked outside to the balcony and stood there for a good while.
Her eyes darted from the Hokage monument to the civilians and shinobis running or walking around. All the lights were on like a city during the night. She recalled the times when she was back in her hometown.
The cold breeze blew and she tucked her hair behind her ear and smiled as leaves danced in the wind. She felt someone stare at her and looked around only to find no one. Sighing, she walked back inside and closed the sliding doors before sleeping as her seals activated around the house.
......................."She's digging her own grave.", a dark low voice echoed in the darkness.
"Heh. This should be fun.", a dark creature had its eyes snapped open as its laugh boomed louder........................
Alexa's POV
Waking up before dawn had been my habit ever since I came to this place and I will tell you it's amazing. I have so much energy inside me. I remembered back in the days when I slept and woke up also late by an alarm clock. I even had to catch a taxi or a train to go to school until I graduated and bought my car of course.
Now that I remember, I miss my baby.
Anyways, how many days had it been since Tatsumi-jiisan applied to me to the academy? 5 or 6 something?
Do I still have to wait?
I finished another book and closed it as I open another and began reading it. I hear a few shuffles and whispers a little bit close to me.
"Hey. Come on now. Talk to her.", several brats were pushing and pulling each other.
"N-no way...! You go...! Why me...?!"
"Just ask for her name...!"
"You do it then...!"
I tuned them down and sighed.
'Kids...really...'
I walked towards the librarian and borrowed the book I was reading to continue it later when my eye caught a certain name on one of the books near the end of the room.
'Ryuugamine Clan...'
I closed my eyes.
I can't lose my cool.
"Here you go. Just write your name and return it within 7 days.", I nodded and wrote my name "Thank you very much.", I get out of the library.
Thunder suddenly crackled and I looked towards the dark-clouded sky. I bought an umbrella before the rain even began pouring. Well, I have to go back to my apartment soon.
It began to rain and I sauntered as I passed by some civilians, when I listened to a succession of thuds and thumps. I glimpsed to the side and saw a narrow alleyway where a few grown-ups were beating up a youngster.
"You monster!"
"How dare you even set your foot here?!"
"Go die! You killed my brother!"
I flickered my eyes bored and shut them when I was reminded of the past where I was being bullied.
"What are you even doing here?! You freak!"
"Get lost!"
I looked away and decided to ignore them.
I continued walking and hear their shouts of profanities lowering down.
"Hey. Let's go now. Someone may see us.", I hear water spattering as they flee.
'Forget about it. It's not like I can do anything.'
I suddenly thought of my best friend.
My footsteps ceased and I sighed tiredly, fed up with the people of this village. I veered around and began walking back to the alleyway, there were bruises all over his body and I winced slightly. I wanted to regret my decisions as I recognized the boy sitting on the muddy ground, his back leaning against the wall.
Of course.
Blonde hair.
It's no other than the show's main protagonist.
Uzumaki Naruto.
First of all.
I wanna say I'm a huge fan of your show.
But with my current situation, let's forget about that.
Because sooner or later.
I will have to kill him.
Before he becomes too overpowered.
And becomes a hindrance to my plans.
My footsteps forged ripples to the small puddle as I approach him. He visibly quivered and I simply walked closer as he squeezed his body tight thinking I would hit him. His whole body was shaking in fear.
I paid no mind and stopped just a foot away from him then shaded his body from the rain with my umbrella. He stopped shivering for a second and looked up. I almost fell to those lovely cerulean blue eyes filled with fear until they shone with something else.
Hope.
I smiled warmly and outstretched to him my other hand. For some reason, he reminded me of Kath, with those big blue eyes and blonde hair.
Sweetly to the best I can, I spoke. "Don't worry. You're fine now."
Unbeknownst to me, someone was watching us.
Naruto's POV
Why?
Why do they hate me?
I didn't do anything...
Why?
Those cold eyes...
Why do they look at me with such cold eyes?
I'm not a monster.
I...
Or am I?
I noticed the water rippling.
Someone's coming.
Are they going to hurt me too?
I hugged my body closer as I trembled to the coldness of the temperature. I was soaked in water, how long have I been under the rain?
They went closer.
'No! Don't come closer!'
I closed my eyes waiting for a sharp impact only to feel nothing. The rain stopped. I slowly opened my eyes. I looked down and still saw rain pouring. One person was standing in front of me.
I slowly raised my head scared. Then, what I saw was unexpected.
Sea.
My eyes widened and I blinked my eyes. I was beyond mesmerized when my eyes landed on the most beautiful girl I have ever seen in my entire life smiling warmly at me. She was wearing a white and red kimono, I thought she was a princess. I got slightly lost to her purple orbs and noticed her hand outstretched for me...?
Is she an angel?
"Don't worry. You're fine now.", in her sweet voice, she spoke.
Her smile never faltered and waited patiently for me to take her hand. I looked back from her to her hand then to her again before I placed my hand on her soft skin. She smiled even warmer and pulled me up.
Her red umbrella shaded us from the rain, as I dazedly stare at her. She took her hand away from me and pulled out something from her pocket. A bandaid.
She placed it on my cheek and heat rushed to my face as she was too close.
"There we go.", she stepped back a little and tilted her head to the side as her hair slightly waved. "What's wrong? Is there something on my face?"
I blinked my eyes and immediately shook my head.
"N-nothing, believe it!", I scratched the back of my head.
'I can't believe I'm talking to a beautiful girl.'
I didn't know there was someone as pretty as she in our village.
'Wait a minute. I haven't seen her here before.'
"So, where do you live? I'll take you there, you won't run in the rain, will you?"
I processed her words and I thought she was a psychic for knowing what I was planning to do next.
"O-of course not. Hehehehe. It's on the other side of the village though.", she looked behind as I point at it and nodded her head.
"Then let's go.", I lead the way for her as we began walking.
She caught me looking at her and I turned away to hear angels singing. No, she was just chuckling.
"Ne ne ne.", she raised her eyebrows.
"Hm?"
"What's your name?", I punched my inner self.
'What do I do?! Did I just ruin my chance of getting to know her?'
Well, I need to cover that, I have to introduce myself first.
"I'm Uzumaki Naruto by the way. And I'll become the future Hokage, dattebayo!", her eyes widened slightly.
She smiled.
'Yatta!'
"Hm. I believe you." I turned shocked after hearing her. But, maybe she just feels sorry for me. "I'm Takeda Alexa. Nice to meet you Uzumaki-san."
Even her name is so pretty, ttebayo! She's so kind and so polite.
"You can call me Naruto."
"Then you should call me Alexa or Lhexi too. That's my nickname.", I nodded and grinned widely.
"Lhexi-chan!", she turned her head to me as she chuckle.
"What is it, Naruto?"
"I haven't seen you here before? Are you from outside?", she nodded.
"Yeah. I just moved here a week ago. I'm from the Land of Waterfalls."
'Woah.'
I haven't been outside before.
"What's your place like?", I was more than excited to know more about the world.
She placed her index finger to her chin as she think.
"Hmmm. Technically, there's a lot of waterfalls and our village was surrounded by gigantic trees. It's sometimes peaceful there with a lot of accidents. We lack quite a lot of products and materials. I must say that Konoha is a lot more peaceful and prosperous.", she finished with a silent sigh.
I had no idea, that behind these walls surrounding the village is a place filled with unknowns. Something was boiling in me. I wanted to travel the world. I wanted to see it with my own eyes.
"Why did you move here?", I blurted out, and all of a sudden she stopped walking leaving me to stop also and in split second I saw something in her eyes.
Darkness.
Her head was hung low as her hair covered her face, looking down.
I shook my head and looked at her again.
'There's no way. Lhexi-chan is so kind. Maybe I was just imagining things.'
She raised her head and flicked my forehead with her middle finger. I slightly stumbled back feeling the slight sharp impact and touched it. I blinked my eyes, I was not expecting that at all.
"It's a S-E-C-R-E-T.", she started walking again leaving me dazzled and I caught up to her.
"Wait!", I walked by her side and we exchanged words.
I didn't know how much time had already passed when we stopped in front of my apartment. I pouted thinking I could have talked more with her.
"Looks like we're here.", she said and I looked away. "What's the matter, Naruto?"
'I have to ask her now or I'll regret it later!'
"Uhm...", I fiddled with my fingers and scratch my head. "...Lhexi-chan..."
"Hm?"
I got a lot more embarrassed.
With all the strength and courage I could muster I brought my hand out and bowed a little.
"Lhexi-chan! Will you be my friend?!"
She did not respond and I closed my eyes.
'I had my hopes up.'
I was about to bring my hand down when I felt her hand.
I stood up and looked up.
"Aren't we already one?", she smiled.
"Eh?", my eyes went wide as I process what she just said. We're already friends?
Tears welled up in the corner of my vision before proudly agreeing to her. "Yeah!"
I mopped my tears away and grinned. It stopped raining as the clouds dispersed revealing the bright sun behind them that lighted up the whole village.
She thumped the bottom of the umbrella on the floor as it sprinkled water all over.
"Then I'll get going now.", I somehow felt deserted again.
"Y-yeah."
She swiveled around and hovered her hand. "See you again, Naruto."! I grinned and waved my hand as she strode backward.
"Yeah! Let's see each other again! Lhexi-chan!", I listened to her laugh then she swerved her back and roamed away.
My smile never vacated my face and I perked up to the shadows under the blue sky.
"Today is probably not a bad day after all."
