Chapter 33

20:02, 4 August 2024

The night had strucked and it was time for Yoongi's shift. The sports fest was in its day-3 and he decided to just go to work since his friends won't be competing any more sports.

"Yoongi? Is that you?" Minji says, entering the café with a box in her hand.

"Oh, hey noona! What's up?"

"Why aren't you at the University right now?" She says, placing the box on the counter and looks at Yoongi who was wiping the tables

"Aren't you going to watch Jimin? I believe tonight was Mr. and Ms. SKU?"

"What?! I DIDN'T KNOW! OH MY GOSH!" Yoongi dropped what he was holding, grabbed his bag and rushed off the café as the other could only shake her head, chuckling.

"They're definitely fucking."

Yoongi sprinted to the university auditorium, barely catching his breath. As he burst through the doors, he scanned the room and spotted Jimin on stage, dressed in a sleek swimsuit.

The swimsuit segment was underway, and the spotlight shone brightly on the competitors. The crowd erupted in cheers and whistles as Jimin stepped onto the stage, his abs clearly defined and his lightning scar on his back visible.

He could hear the crowd shock, murmur and whispers echoed the area.

"Is that real?! Omg!"

"I think it's a prop!"

"Nope! DEFINITELY REAL!"

Yoongi’s jaw dropped as he took in the sight. He couldn’t help but feel a mix of pride and amazement as he watched Jimin stride confidently across the stage.

The crowd went wild, their applause deafening as they admired not just Jimin’s physique but the scar that seemed to add a mysterious edge to his appearance.

Sofia, Jimin’s partner, was equally impressive, but Jimin’s presence stole the show. The audience screamed with excitement, some whispering about whether the scar was part of a dramatic costume or an actual injury.

As the swimsuit segment concluded, the contestants changed into their uniforms. The next showdown was about their own department’s pride. Jimin and Sofia took the stage in their COE uniforms, performing a routine that showcased their department’s achievements. The judges were impressed, but the competition was just getting started.

Next up was the sportswear segment. The competitors showed off their athletic prowess in various sports gear. Jimin and Sofia’s performance was energetic and captivating, showing their versatility. The crowd cheered as they executed each move flawlessly.

Finally, it was time for the costume segment. Each department represented their unique identity through elaborate costumes. Jimin and Sofia dazzled the audience with a creative display that paid homage to the COE’s values. The costumes were vibrant and eye-catching, and Jimin’s confident presentation left a lasting impression to the audience. I mean, how could they not? The boy was hot af.

As the showdowns concluded, the judges announced the top finalists. Jimin and Sofia made it through, along with representatives from the other departments. The tension was high as the remaining contestants prepared for the final round: a question and answer session.

The lights dimmed, and the spotlight focused on Jimin. The question was projected for everyone to see: “What do you think about the saying: love is sweeter the second time around?”

Jimin took a deep breath, gathering his thoughts before responding. “I believe the saying ‘love is sweeter the second time around’ carries a lot of truth, but it’s important to understand why. Love, like any meaningful relationship, evolves and grows over time. The second chance at love often comes with a greater appreciation for what it means to truly connect with someone." He eyes the crowd, and was looking for someone. He sighed and continued slightly dismayed.

"When you’ve experienced love before, you gain valuable insights about yourself and what you want in a relationship. The first time around, you might not fully understand what you need or how to communicate effectively. But when given another opportunity, you have the chance to apply those lessons. You’re more aware of your strengths and weaknesses, and you’re often more willing to be open and honest." He paused, spotting Yoongi mixed with the audience. He could swear the other was wiping his tears away. He smiled and took a deep breath and continued.

"However, it’s not just about having another go; it’s about growing from past experiences. The second chance in love can be sweeter because you approach it with a clearer understanding of what you want and how to nurture a relationship. You’re more likely to cherish and value your partner, having learned from previous mistakes or misunderstandings." Jimin was looking at Yoongi furiously, feeling his heart beat like it was going to escape in his ribcage.

"But it’s also important to remember that every relationship is unique. While the second chance might be sweeter for some, it’s not a guarantee. What matters most is the effort you put into making it work and the genuine connection you build. Love, at any stage, requires commitment and willingness. And of course, regardless of your gender. Woman to woman. Man to man. Woman to man. You're allowed to love and feel loved.

The audience and judges listened intently, nodding in agreement as Jimin spoke. His thoughtful and articulate answer resonated with everyone, his deep understanding of love and relationships.

As the judges deliberated, Yoongi looked at Jimin, proud of how he handled the question with wisdom.

Now, the announcer of the event goes in front as he was holding a rectangular paper in his hand. Looking at the audience in front of him, he smiled. "This is the moment that we have all been waiting for!"

"Judges! You might want to cover your ears from this again! Mr. and Ms. SKU is!

Park Jimin and Kim Yuna!"

Soon, the whole gymnasium was filled with screams, shouts, and squeal. The judges put the crown on Jimin's head as his whole friends, including Yoongi came to hug him, carrying him up in the air.

The entire group had gathered to commemorate the victories from the sports fest, including Jimin’s win as Mr. SKU. The house was filled with laughter, cheers, and the clinking of glasses.

Jimin was the center of attention, his Mr. SKU crown still on his head as he sat comfortably on the couch. Yoongi, who had been admiring Jimin's performance throughout the night, couldn't help but tease him.

"Look at you, Mr. SKU," Yoongi said, smirking as he playfully adjusted Jimin's crown. "I didn’t know you were this much of a show-off."

Jimin rolled his eyes, laughing. "Oh, shut up. I was just doing my best. Besides, it’s not every day you get crowned by a bunch of judges."

Taehyung, Jungkook, and Yungmin who were sitting on the floor playing video games, looked up with wide grins. "You mean it’s not every day Jimin gets to flaunt his abs and scar for the entire university?" Taehyung teased.

Jimin threw a pillow at Taehyung. “That scar is real, you know that! And anyway, I’m just glad I could make everyone proud.”

Jin, who was in the kitchen preparing snacks, shouted over, "Proud? More like flaunting! I still can’t believe you managed to answer that love question so perfectly. Did you rehearse that or something?"

Jimin shrugged with a grin. “Maybe I did. Or maybe I’m just a love guru now.”

Yoongi chuckled, leaning against the wall. “Yeah, a love guru with a crown. How very regal.”

Namjoon, carrying a tray of drinks, joined the conversation. “Hey, let’s not forget the real stars here. Yoongi won silver in chess, and Jungkook’s about to demolish us all in this game.”

Jungkook looked up, his fingers still flying over the controller. “Don’t think you can escape my gaming skills just because you’re Mr. SKU now.”

"Bring it on, Kid!" Jimin says, taking off his crown and puts it to Yoongi's head as the other widened his eyes in shock.

"OOoOOooOoH~" Jennie and Hoseok teased; Yoongi whined at them.

When it was time for all of them to go home, Jimin insisted on driving Yoongi to his apartment. He was still holding Jimin's crown when they both got in the car.

As soon as they arrived at Yoongi's street, Jimin parked his car and looks at Yoongi with a smile.

"Congrats again, Jimin-ah." He says, handing the crown to Jimin.

Jimin just looks at it for a while and grabs the crown as he puts it to Yoongi's head. "It looks better on you, Yoongi." He says. "You're so fucking pretty."
