Chapter 2
05:28, 2 June 2017Summer POV
I suddenly came to consciousness, finding myself being held up by someone with strong arms. My head was killing me.
Once my eyes focused, I felt as if I was going to be sick. Someone tell me this is just a dream. Well, nightmare.
I was standing in the loading zone on a Star Detroyer, right in front of Kylo Ren's Command Shuttle. TIE Fighters were lined up the incredibly high walls; I had to crane my neck to see the ceiling. First Order personnel and Stormtroopers were everywhere. Not that it's not expected here, but there were so many of them.
I looked back at who was holding me; a Stormtrooper of course. I was still wearing the handcuff restraints and my aching wrists were begging for relief.
"So...where are we?" I asked the Stormtrooper, though I had a pretty good guess which Star Destroyer we were on.
"The Finalizer." Though it wasn't the Stormtrooper that replied. I know that voice.
Kylo Ren came down the Command Shuttle's lowered hatch, stopping in front of me. He was still wearing his helmet but his hood was down.
"Welcome aboard. I assure you, no motion sickness will occur on this ship." I could tell that was a mock.
"I can't believe you took me here," I said, still in disbelief over everything.
"Flattered?"
"Hardly."
Kylo stared at me for a minute then turned to the Stormtrooper. "I will take her from here. Carry on with your normal duties."
"Yes, Sir." The Stormtrooper marched off and joined a group of his patrolling comrades.
I jumped when Kylo firmly grasped my shoulder, as if I needed to be reminded how strong he is. I glanced at his leather glove then back at him. Was this really necessary?
"Walk," he ordered, giving me a small push. He still didn't let my shoulder go.
I obeyed, not wanting to anger him. I experienced his temper enough.
My advantage was I know what makes his blood boil. I have watched The Force Awakens many times, so I know his attitude and charisma. And since he is real and needs to be feared, this was my only shot at surviving here.
Kylo led me down an eerie corridor, the lights aligned in a creepy formation in the ceiling. It's like walking beneath an inverted rib cage. Just weird.
I glanced down other corridors that connected to this one, curious at just how large this Star Destroyer was. The First Order design was far larger than the Imperial; I bet you could get lost in this place.
Kylo suddenly turned down the corridor on the left and I nearly tripped, not expecting his abrupt change of direction.
"You could have warned me," I scoffed, trying to get back to his brisk pace.
"You should be paying attention," he fired back. His gripped my shoulder tighter and I winced from the pain.
"Alright, I'm sorry," I said, hoping he would lessen his hold on me.
It didn't work.
We came up on the main bridge, rows of computers with First Order crew at every keyboard. A general patrolled the area, watching over everyone working. He stood out to me, looking familiar. His orange hair and icy glare was unmistakable.
Once he saw us, General Hux marched over, stopping Kylo Ren from continuing. "Sir, what is the meaning of this?"
Kylo pushed me against the wall and released me, motioning not to move. As if I had any chances of running away in this place.
He gave his full attention to Hux. "What is the meaning of your questioning of me?"
The rivalry and hatred towards one other was clearly seen. There was no guess that they make themselves tolerate each other to work together here.
I stayed back against the wall. I don't want to get in between them.
Kylo POV
"Sir, why is some...girl being walked around my Star Destroyer?" Hux demanded of me. How dare he do something so bold.
"It's our Star Destroyer," I clarified, as I usually have to do with him. "And she is our guest."
"We don't bring guests aboard, we capture prisoners, lest you have forgotten." I could feel the tension rising within him. Just try something on me. Your pathetic blaster to my lightsaber is a quick match.
I annihilated the space between us, my mask nearly touching him. "Do not question my method of doing things, General. There is a good reason behind it."
He held his ground. "State it then."
"I do not have to answer to you."
"Then you will answer to Snoke," Hux fired at me. "For keeping secrets from your most trusted personnel."
Knowing he was talking about himself, I nearly laughed in his face. And I don't laugh at anything. "The Supreme Leader knows of my plans with the girl."
Hux took a step back, offended. "But you would not tell the highest ranking general of the First Order?! Whether you like it or not, we have to work together under Snoke's command. I know you hate to share such power-"
"Says the guy who can't share his own ship," I scoffed back at him.
If his job, and life, wasn't on the line, he probably would have punched me. "Kylo Ren, I forbid you from going any further until you inform me on what is going on."
Oh, you want to play that game?
I raised my arm and Hux followed, being lifted from the ground from The Force. I strengthened my hold on him, making him gasp for air.
I glanced over at Summer, who appeared horrified from the sight. I do this all the time; she better get used to seeing it.
"General, I will not tolerate such brash attitude from you." I twisted my hand, watching him wince from the pain.
"Snoke...will h-hear...about th-this..." Hux choked out. Like I really care.
I finally released him, smirking as he fell to the ground. I could have done more, and worse, but I have other objectives to fulfill.
General Hux coughed and sent me a nasty look as he stood back up. "How dare you treat me with such disrespect!"
"Touché."
I watched him brush space dust off his suit (although this place was impeccably clean) and smooth out the wrinkles.
"I'll lint roll this later," I heard him mutter. Seriously, you lint roll your clothes?
"General, I request something of you." Yes, I know it wasn't the time to ask.
He slowly lifted his head up from his suit, his eyes like blasters. "And that is?"
"Take the girl to my room and watch over her until I return from 'important business'," I said.
I watched his eyes go from "stun" to "kill". "You have quite a bit of nerve to ask me to do something for you after how I was just treated."
I got up in his face again. "Then it's no longer a request, it's an order."
He shook his head. "Ask a Stormtrooper. I have much more important duties to attend to instead of babysitting her."
"That's an order, General Hux. Must I remind you what that is?"
"Kylo Ren-"
I moved my hand on my lightsaber hilt, not hesitant to use it. And Hux knew that too.
He looked away, finally giving up. "I'll get her there at once, Sir."
I smirked, even though he couldn't see my face. "I'm glad you see things my way." I walked past him, close enough to give him a small shove, just out of spite.
Summer POV
I watched Kylo leave down an interconnecting corridor, leaving me alone with General Hux. This can't be too bad. Hux doesn't have the Force or a lightsaber.
Hux unbuttoned the top few buttons of his suit, removing a small, hidden blaster from within before buttoning it back up. Well, at least he doesn't have the Force.
"Alright, walk," he demanded, grabbing my arm and pushing me along.
"I don't have to pushed," I snapped, breaking free of his grip.
He grabbed me again and held the blaster to my neck. "If I were you, I wouldn't even give me the slightest bit of attitude."
"Why does Kylo want me in his room anyway?" I asked as I was shoved down a different corridor. This was starting to bother me.
"That is what he requested," Hux replied impatiently. "Would you prefer a detention cell? I can happily arrange that, believe me."
Depends. Which could be worse? "No, his room is fine."
* * * *
Finally, after what felt like we walked the entire ship, he took me down a corridor with a steel door at the end.
"Please tell me that's Kylo's room," I said, breathlessly. This place was huge and my legs were tired of walking.
"Do not start whining," Hux scolded. "That is something I will not tolerate. But if you insist on knowing, yes, this is his room."
The door automatically slid open when we approached, just like any door does in the Star Wars movies, and it shut once we entered. The lights turned themselves on, and I gasped in awe at the room.
It was quite large for a bedroom. There was a king-sized bed with an elegant, cedar nightstand on each side, and a walk-in closet to the far left. To the right was the bathroom and an ashtray that sat on a pedestal three feet tall.
Instead of cigarette ashes, the ashtray instead holds the remains of Kylo's enemies. And I remember from The Force Awakens how he slams his helmet down on top...for whatever reason.
The carpet was a bright red and had a velvet appearance. The walls were painted black (which didn't surprise me) and there was no furniture. I'm sure Kylo didn't receive much company here anyway.
A wall circled the room on the far side, binding left and right together. Hux pressed the screen on a datapad lying on the nightstand and four large, rectangular panels lifted themselves from the wall, each revealing a window behind it. My jaw nearly dropped at the view.
I stared awestruck at my first look of space. I couldn't believe I was actually staring into the stars, instead of just viewing them through a telescope. This was unreal.
Hux walked me across to the windows and had me sit down in one of them. The windows were three dimensional, sticking out into space, and there was a small ledge to sit on, standing about two feet off the floor. Well, I hope you're able to sit on it. Doesn't seem like I have much of a choice now.
"Now just wait there until Kylo Ren returns," General Hux ordered, keeping his blaster out. And pointing directly at me. "Don't try anything with me because it won't work."
I nodded, only partially hearing him, too distracted by the beauty of space. As much as I hated to be here, this was flipping incredible.
"Young lady, are you listening?"
I nodded again, but I still wasn't giving him my full attention. Though I did once his blaster was shoved in my face. "Alright! I heard you! Just sit here and be good, basically."
He eyed me for a moment then backed away. His blaster was still pointing at me but at least I have personal space.
Hux stood straight and tall, his head upright and his back as straight as could be. His eyes remained on the door, with occasional glances at me. His legs were firmly together, just as straight as his back. One arm was crossed behind him, the other was (sadly) holding the blaster towards me. His suit, despite what Kylo did to him, looked as if this was the first time being worn. And his bright orange hair was still combed back perfectly in place without a hair being missed.
Even before I knew anything about him, I could tell that he took his job very seriously and would not put up with anything but the highest of standards. Anyone that worked beneath him would have to carry out the strictest of orders or probably be punished severely.
"Why are you staring at me?" Hux inquired.
I snapped out of my thoughts once I noticed I had my eyes locked on him. "Sorry. I was just daydreaming."
He eyed me, looking a bit uncomfortable.
"N-Not about y-you," I corrected, my voice breaking from nerves.
I didn't want to offend him (he is holding a blaster) yet I also didn't want him to think I had an interest. Because I don't. Whatsoever.
He eventually looked away, trying not to appear bothered by me.
I resumed staring out the window, never realizing the true beauty of space until now. Pictures in a book are great, but this...I just couldn't wrap my mind around it.
"First time?" Hux asked, breaking me away from the view. Again.
I raised an eyebrow. "Um, I don't understand what you mean."
He motioned to the window. "You are so mesmerized by space. Have you never been up here before?"
I shook my head. "No. Never."
He eyed me again, now appearing suspicious. "Where are you from?"
"Earth."
Hux nearly dropped his blaster when I said that. "Earth? You mean Kylo Ren-" He rubbed his forehead. "I knew I shouldn't have let him go so easily. Young lady, what is your name?"
What's so wrong with me being from Earth? "Summer."
"And how did you meet Kylo?"
"Well, I was at the Lauch Bay in-"
"Orlando," Hux finished for me. "You went into the interrogation room, just like all the idiot humans do."
I'll let that one pass. "Anyway...Kylo kidnapped me. He said that he wanted me on his side or something like that."
He looked me over. "Interesting..."
The way he was staring at me made me uncomfortable. After about a minute, he looked away. "Nice of him to tell me this. I would like to be forewarned of prisoners coming aboard my ship."
"Kylo said I was a guest," I corrected, regretting it after.
"You are a prisoner," Hux clarified. "Do not expect special treatment of any kind here. You are no better than anyone else brought onto this Star Destroyer."
"Alright, alright," I said, backing down. And I thought Kylo was the jerk.
General Hux glared at me then looked back at the door, probably mentally begging Kylo to get here faster.
And saying that I'm nearly doing the same, says just how much I enjoy Hux's company.
Kylo POV
I opened the large doors to the "Hologram Room", as I have come to call it. After all, this room was only used to talk to Snoke (and he was a hologram).
I crossed the room and climbed a few stairs onto the raised center platform, kneeling down as Snoke appeared before me.
"Kylo Ren," his loud voice echoed in the empty room. "I expect to only hear good news from you."
"I have the girl," I said. "And I encountered no trouble at all."
Snoke nodded, seeming impressed. "Excellent, My Student. How strong is this girl?"
"She hasn't shown any sign of power nor knowledge that she has it," I stated. "But it is there, I feel it. She has great potential."
"And the Resistance?"
"They know nothing of this."
Snoke leaned back in his holographic chair. "You have done well so far. Do you know what you must do next?"
"Turn her," I proudly replied. "Then train her."
"One thing at a time. If you go too fast, your task will fail and she will turn on us." He narrowed his eyes at me, wrinkles forming on top of wrinkles. Gross. "Do not disappoint me, Kylo Ren."
I stood up. "I will not fail, Supreme Leader."
"And if this girl won't cooperate..."
I already knew the answer. "Then she will die."

Summer POV
I jumped at the steel doors suddenly opening, not expecting it. The room was so quiet (General Hux is certainly not a talkative person) that the noise startled me.
Kylo Ren entered and paused in the center of the room.
"It took you long enough," Hux scoffed at Kylo as he put away his blaster. "Do you realize how far you put me behind schedule? I'll be up for hours later than I should be with paperwork."
"Then I suggest you leave and get right to it then, General," Kylo fired back.
Hux glared at him and muttered something in a language I have never heard before as he marched out of the room, the steel doors slamming shut behind him.
This also means I'm stuck with Kylo Ren. Alone. Unarmed. Not even able to properly move because my wrists were still cuffed together. I can just tell how this day is going to be...
He took a few steps towards me. "You're still afraid of me?"
Well, duh. I didn't dare say that though.
He thrusted his arm out and the handcuffs suddenly unlocked themselves, releasing me and falling to the ground. It surprised me, and I almost let out a small scream.
I rubbed my aching wrists. "Um, thanks."
He came another step closer. Alright, that's close enough. I could reach out and touch you. "You still don't trust me, do you?"
Again, duh. "Put yourself into my position for a moment. How would you feel?"
"I would handle things differently than you."
I nearly laughed. "So you would enjoy being kidnapped?"
"I wouldn't scoff at a minor kidnapping," Kylo warned. "There are so many worse things that could happen to you," he continued. "I do not treat any visitors well..."
That clearly wasn't a lie. The interrogations that Rey and Poe Dameron were put through were just what I knew he did to "visitors". To be honest, I don't want to experience any "surprises".
"Why are you doing this to me?" A question that has been burning my mind since back at Disney.
"I told you, I want you on my side."
"But I'm not anyone special." Certainly no aspiring Jedi he would have to worry about.
Kylo was going to say something, but seemed to change his mind. And the subject, which made me wonder...
"Just appreciate the little things," he said. "Such as the fact you're not sitting in a detention cell right now. I am offering you my room instead."
"Well, thank you. It's very ni-"
"Say nice and you're dead," he threatened, his hand looming in front of me again. My head suddenly felt tight, not like I needed that to get the message.
"Don't worry, you're certainly not nice," I said, wincing from his hold on me. A jerk is what I would call him.
Kylo released me, his arm abruptly returning to his side. "You will learn that there are rules and limitations here. Such as for your choice of speech. I don't want to have any sort of attitude from you and only the utmost respect, always. Am I clear?"
I nodded, knowing I didn't have much of a choice. If I was going to survive here, I needed to do whatever was necessary. BUT there are some things that I just won't bend for.
He turned and walked away. "Good. The faster you learn, the easier it will be for you here."
I hesitated at first, but then blurted out, "May I ask a question?"
He paused and turned his mask halfway back to me. Just the way he looked was the definition of creepy.
"Yes."
I gathered my strength and asked, "Am I ever going to see Earth again?"
"We occasionally cruise past it so if you look out the window-"
Don't play dumb with me. "Kylo, you know what I mean."
Kylo fully gave his back to me. "You also know the answer then, Summer." I shuddered when he said my name.
I held back tears that wanted to escape my eyes. So this is what my life will be like from now on? Living with a serial killer?
"Will I ever be able to visit there again?"
"That's enough questions for now," he said, basically giving me the answer. "Sometimes being quiet is more powerful than speech."
So...that's basically a fancy way to tell me to shut up.
I sighed and looked out the window, wiping my filled eyes on the sleeve of my shirt, hoping he wouldn't notice. I didn't want to show any weakness to him.
"I know you're crying. I can feel your emotions."
I softly groaned and leaned my head against the window. Very gingerly of course, and I didn't apply much pressure, not wanting to test the strength of the glass.
His shadow suddenly appeared over me. "I wouldn't lean on that if I were you."
I immediately retreated, bumping into him. Then afraid of what he might do because I touched him (have you ever seen Undercover Ren on Saturday Night Live?), I jumped up from the window and backed away until I considered myself a safe distance from him. In other words, I was now across the other side of the room, my back to the walk-in closet.
Kylo slowly crossed the room, like a predator stalking his prey. And I'm the dinner target.
Too freaked out to let him come any closer, I held my hands out, motioning him to stop. He froze, appearing surprised. I almost want to say afraid but that's seriously doubtful. Why would he be afraid of me?
After studying me for a moment, he placed his hands on his mask, the front mouthpiece shifting upwards on the helmet. Oh shoot.
He lifted his helmet off and I gasped. He looked identical to Adam Driver. His eyes were dark brown and his long, wavy hair looked perfectly in place, despite being cooped up beneath a helmet for endless hours. His hair even had that extra curl at the bottom, which gently rested on the brink of his shoulders.
Only difference was, as for looks, Kylo had an actual lightsaber scar (not makeup) from his right eye extending down to his jawline. I nearly swore.
"You seem surprised by my appearance," he said, his voice still having a deep, growl to it.
He wasn't angry (at least I hope), it's just the menacing voice he had. It also had that light, distinct accent that every girl went crazy over.
"No, I-I knew wh-what you looked l-like," I replied, overwhelmed from shock. I did know what to expect, but it's not the same as physically staring face-to-face.
Kylo looked down at my hands, which I was still holding out like an idiot, then back at me. "What are you trying to do?"
I pulled back my arms, a bit embarrassed. "Oh, um, I was telling you to stop walking any further. On Earth, it's called personal space," I hinted, hoping he will receive the message.
"So...Force Push?"
I raised an eyebrow. "Um, no, I just don't like people standing right on top of me." Hint, hint.
He suddenly bolted towards me, grabbing my arms and pinning me back against the closet doors. I struggled to get free but his hold only tightened.
His face was just inches from mine. I could even smell a fruity aroma coming from his hair. Most importantly, his lips were a bit too close for comfort.
Kylo's brown eyes felt as if they were piercing my soul. "You're no match for my strength. Don't bother fighting me."
"I'm stronger than you think," I rebelled, trying to sound brave. Fear was literally eating me alive inside.
"I wouldn't be so sure," he said in a smug tone.
I suddenly felt a wave of energy surge through me, though not the good kind. It was powerful, and it restrained my body from moving. No doubt this was Kylo's doing.
He physically released me, but still remained close. I still couldn't move, despite his letting me go. I noticed his right hand was parted, an obvious display of the Force.
"I will prove you wrong," Kylo said, raising his right hand in front of my face. My head instantly tightened. Here we go again.
"Don't...do...this..." I begged, wincing from the pain.
I felt him go into my thoughts again, searching through each precious one.
"You have quite a few weaknesses," Kylo said, staring intensely at me. "Your mind is full of fear. Sadness. Hopes and wishes, hmm..." My breath stiffened as he dug deeper into my mind. "Interesting. Very interesting."
"GET. OUT," I managed to say, though he only constricted me harder.
His warm breath tickled my lips as he whispered. "You want someone to love. You desire a man who could fulfill any desire you could possibly want...to show you the true feeling of love..." He looked me over then leaned away. "You're not going to find anyone like that here."
I wouldn't want anyone here.
"And I'll take a copy of your weaknesses," Kylo said as I felt thoughts being plucked from my brain.
Tears ran down my cheeks. I nearly screamed out from the pain. This was absolutely unbearable.
"K-Kylo Ren..." I sqeaked, barely able to get any words out.
Kylo POV
I watched her cry and plead mercy, used to it. People do that to me all the time, as if I actually care and will listen to them.
I never do, but I will this time only because I have everything I need from her. She will soon learn that I am relentless, and her pleading will have no affect on me.
Summer POV
Kylo finally released me and I fell forward into him, too weak to stand and on the verge of unconsciousness. My eyes were having trouble focusing, so everything was a blur.
Kylo, surprisingly, scooped me up bridal style in his arms, carrying me over to his bed. He gently laid me down then walked away, disappearing into his walk-in closet, the automatic door (as every door is here) shutting behind him.
I just laid there on his bed, paralyzed from the pain and weak from the aftermath. I have to get out of here. I can't live like this for the rest of my life.
But just the thought of moving was too much pain for myself to go through. I would probably not even be able to stand up without falling.
I eventually managed to lean forward onto my elbow, balancing my weight, which wasn't easy. My head felt like a thousand pounds and ached as if it was punched repeatedly. Kylo's Force is definitely something I need to fear.
I jumped when the closet door opened, nearly falling off the edge of the bed. I glanced up at Kylo walking past the bed and my eyes widened.
He was only wearing a slimming, black tank top and matching boxers. I never would have guessed he would have such an attractive build. So muscular and firm, his abs easily showed through the thin material.
If I didn't hate him so much for everything he has done to me so far, I'd call him sexy. But he doesn't deserve it.
Kylo picked his helmet off the ground (he dropped it earlier) and crossed the room to his "ashtray". And then, of course, he slammed the mask down on top, a small cloud of "dust" rising up from it.
Something else I noticed as he walked back to the bed: he had his lightsaber hilt with him. Just when I thought this day couldn't get any worse.
Kylo laid the lighsaber down on the left nightstand (the one opposite from me) and turned to me. "This is not to be touched, ever. The punishment will be so brutal that death would rather be welcomed. I hope I make myself perfectly clear."
I timidly nodded.
He studied me for a moment then climbed into bed, slipping himself beneath the covers, facing towards me.
Feeling awkward being this close to him, I asked, "Where do I sleep tonight?"
Kylo made himself comfortable before answering. "Just pull the covers back and lie down."
He can't be flipping serious. "Um...what?"
"Do you not know how to properly lie in a bed?"
O.M.G. "Kylo Ren, I am not sleeping with you."
His line of sight slowly met with me. "What's wrong with me?"
There is that tone again. The "pre-warning" tone. I could see a potential tantrum or another Force-related punishment coming along.
"Isn't there something or somewhere else available?" I inquired, avoiding his question. He wouldn't like my answer
Kylo stared at me then shut his eyes, pulling the covers up to his neck. He exhaled deeply. "No, there isn't. This ship is full."
Impossible. This place was far too large. "But-"
"Look, you can thank the Resistance for that," he quipped, talking to me with his eyes closed. "This Star Destroyer is the only thing we have to live on since Starkiller Base blew up. We're packed full of First Order crew and Stormtroopers to the brim."
"I wouldn't think many survived that explosion."
"Ever heard of something called 'reinforcements'?"
I don't know why you would request more people if you can't put them anywhere but I let it pass. "So I'm basically stuck in here."
His eyes reopened. The glare was enough said.
"Which isn't a bad thing," I said, trying to cover up my comment. "This room is...awesome. And...the bed is comfy."
The person I have to share it with is a major issue though.
"Then stop complaining and get comfortable. I'm shutting off the lights in a moment," Kylo said.
He raised his hand and his datapad magically flew into it, thanks to his Force. He typed on it and the panels shut to the windows. I don't know why he did that. It's not like the darkness of space lets light in.
I can't do this. I don't trust him whatsoever. "Kylo, I really-"
"If you're worried about me bothering you," he said as he typed more on his datapad. "What you should be worried about is what will happen if you bother me."
The lights suddenly shut off and I let out a small scream, it startling me. It was pitch black in here; I couldn't see a thing. Not that I'm afraid of the dark, it's what is in the dark...him.
How the heck am I suppose to fall sleep in a situation like this?
The bed shook as Kylo shifted positions (I'm assuming), then suddenly went still. I heard him yawn. I must admit, that was strange to hear him do that. I don't know why, but it was.
Alright...now what am I going go do...
I could try to sneak out but he would probably notice me. If his Force didn't pick me up, the opening of his steel, bedroom door would. That is, if I didn't trip over something im here first. Again, I cannot see anything.
Seeing no other alternative, I sighed and managed to maneuver myself beneath the covers. I still don't trust him saying he won't disturb me. Good luck to me sleeping tonight. Unless...
This is risky, but it's probably well worth it.
I gathered my courage and whispered, "Kylo?"
I heard a deep exhale. "What?" The "pre-warning" tone at its finest.
Now here is the complicated part. "Um, I was wondering...could you maybe...just keep one light on in here?" I nearly held my breath as I waited for him to answer.
Silence. Absolute silence. This is never good with him.
"Don't tell me you're afraid of the dark."
I didn't reply, contemplating if admittance would be worse than remaining quiet.
I heard him mutter something in a language I did not recognize (like the one Hux used earlier) as the bed shook again. I tried to remain as close to the edge as possible, in case an "emergency exit" was needed.
A dim light suddenly turned on from the ceiling in the corner, making me jump. It wasn't much, but at least I could see him better. Not properly, but enough for my own protection.
"Now you're going to sleep," Kylo said, coming towards me.
Well...this completely backfired.
I quickly threw back the covers and tried to run, only to have his Force pull me back down and hold me to the bed. Darn, so close.
"You're not going anywhere," he said, dangerously close to me.
I knew I shouldn't have bothered him. "Kylo, please-"
He placed his hand on my head as if checking for a fever. I can't take another mind infiltration. Not after before. Could this possibly become deadly?
A sudden sweep of calmness rushed through me, making my tense body instantly relax. It felt like my whole body just got a massage. And my mind was in such a peaceful state, it made me sleepy.
So sleepy actually, that as soon as I shut my eyes, I went off into a deep slumber...
Kylo POV
I sighed and backed away from her sleeping body. Yes, I did that. It's something Luke Skywalker taught me years ago, but I never forgot it.
A young girl, my little cousin actually, back at the Jedi school always came to me when she couldn't sleep, and I used my Force to help her body relax until she dozed off. She used to have strange dreams, premonitions I called them, which probably aided to her sleeping problems.
They were interesting dreams, nothing if major importance, except for one...
I recalled one night the girl came into my room, crying over a dream she had. It was about the day I would turn against my uncle and become a Dark Knight. I told her it would never happen, and I comforted her until she fell back to sleep.
But from that day on, I was honestly worried about what she said, and hoped it wasn't true.
That is, until I was contacted from Snoke. He opened my eyes to the real world and truth, and showed me it was I who had to revenge the death of my grandfather. It was my destiny to fulfill the wrath of Darth Vader.
The day finally came, and I, along with the other Knights of Ren, revolted against Luke during a lightsaber, training session. We slaughtered every Padawan there, but unfortunately Luke escaped. I vowed from that day forward to find and eliminate him.
While the other Knights of Ren raided the Jedi school for supplies, I realized someone was missing: the little girl. Her body was not amongst the dead scattered across the floor, so where was she?
I remember when I exited the school, I heard soft crying coming from the woods surrounding me. I used my Force to locate where it was coming from, and followed it until I came across the young girl hiding in the bushes.
She was frightened, and her face was stained with tears. She asked me where her father and "Bennie" was, as she came to call me. She probably didn't recognize me, because I was wearing my Kylo Ren suit and helmet, but I nearly felt as if she did.
I could have left her there to die soon enough in these woods, if the other Knights of Ren didn't find her first, but I strangely felt compassionate. She always looked up to me as a big brother, since she was the only child. And to my knowledge, she had no idea who her mother was.
But once I turned to the Dark Side, things changed. They had to. I couldn't remain such an important figure in her life, now since I changed my direction of life.
I used my Force to knock her unconscious and I carried her back to the ship Snoke lent the Knights of Ren and I, sneaking her on board.
Then I did something dangerous yet mandatory: I erased her memory. Everything. Gone. Now remembrance of who her family was, and especially not of me. It had to be this way.
Once we left the Jedi school, I made the Knights of Ren make a special stop on the barren, desert planet of Jakku, knowing the little girl would never be rediscovered there. And since she was a descendant of Luke Skywalker, I wasn't taking any chances that she could possibly be Force-sensitive.
I sold her to work as a scavenger to a dastardly fellow, making him promise to not overwork her. He could demand all he wanted, she could handle it, but not to death. He did make the promise, but I doubt he kept it.
I awoke her with my Force and left her there with him, ignoring her calls for me to come back. Since I erased her memory, she didn't know who I was anymore, if she ever did in the first place. I could feel the pain in her voice as she screamed for my return as I boarded the ship and left.
To this day, that memory still haunts me in quite a peculiar way. I almost feel guilty for it, but at the same time, I did give her a second chance to live.
And as time played on, Rey proved herself to be stronger and have more potential than I ever could have imagined. Maybe a bit too strong. My perfect face will never be the same again because of her.
I sighed and rubbed my scars, feeling something wet on my cheek. What the...a tear?! I'm crying?! Dark Knights don't cry. That just shows I'm as soft and weak as everyone else.
I could feel the frustration building within me, my body feeling as if it could explode. I'm not going to be able to sleep unless I get rid of this tension.
I grabbed my lightsaber hilt, preparing to destroy whatever was closest to me. Hux wouldn't like it, but I didn't care.
Right before I extended the lightsaber, I noticed Summer stir slightly, then roll over towards me. It was her subconscious doing this; she was still in a deep sleep.
But the way she looked so calm and peaceful lying there...it reminded me of Rey back at the Jedi school, just a larger version of her. It surprisingly made me relax, and the vexation quickly left my body.
I groaned and put my lightsaber back on the nightstand, knowing I won't be sleeping well tonight, if at all. Too many things were going through my mind. Like what just happened. The flashback. How Summer reminded me of Rey. Why?
I pulled the covers up and rolled over on my left side, facing Summer. I noticed she was scarcely covered by the sheets but I tried to ignore it. Why should I care of she gets cold tonight? Dark Knights don't have feelings.
After a few minutes of lying there, I reluctantly pulled the sheets over her, making sure she was fully covered. There. That's my good deed for the day. Well, more like for the year.
I yawned and shut my eyes, wishing my active mind would just shut off so I could rest peacefully. I needed my beauty rest, but I also needed energy for tomorrow. It's going to be a big day, and an important one at that.
Time to start the process of turning Summer to the Dark Side...

Hey guys, sorry it took so long for the chapter update, I wasn't expecting it to be so long.
But more importantly, about Kylo's flashback.
I do understand that none of us exactly know about Kylo's but more so Rey's past. I just wrote how I imagined it happened. When Star Wars Vlll and lX comes out, if I am wrong here in any way, I will come back and correct my mistakes immediately to make the flashback proper. But until then, let's just say that this is how it happened for my story's sake :)
Hope you enjoyed the chapter, feedback is always welcome! I want to here what you think about my book so far :)
BTW: the pics I added to the chapter are of Kylo's Command Shuttle and the First Order Star Destroyer, The Finalizer. But you diehard Star Wars fans probably already knew that ;) :P
