61 - The Final Chase

06:53, 20 July 2025

The war was over. Fuyuka was still miffed at how much she missed, and she developed a new hatred for any form of genjutsu, but all in all things were okay.

Except for one thing. Right now she (and Yozora) had one major enemy to violently murder- Kyomu.

So she went to torture Kakashi, the new Hokage.

"Kakashi-sensei, I want a mission to violently murder Kyomu and probably everyone else in Sun Star," she demanded about five days after the war.

Kakashi looked up from his paperwork, shivers of 'someone may try to murder me' running up his spine. "The war was just over, Fuyuka."

"I do not care," the blue haired girl returned bluntly. "Kyomu is dying. Violently. With lots of blood and pain and suffering because he deserves it."

Kakashi leaned back in his seat, sweat dripping from his forehead. "Uh, well, missions are generally only for teams of three or more and after the war, most people are still recovering."

"I do not care," Fuyuka repeated. "I'm going. Yozora's going. Just throw in some irrelevant NPC or something."

"Okay... assuming I make an exception for this one time..." Kakashi searched through his piles of paperwork, his eyes lighting up slightly. "Naku Sora and Mitsuka Sora. Those two need some... cheering up after Terasu died, and Kyomu sounds like an enemy you'd want an extra teammate to take down."

"Magician wannabe and his slightly evil sister? O-kay." Fuyuka shrugged. "Great. Give me the official mission."

Kakashi sighed like a depressed 40-year-old unemployed former office worker, before producing a blank scroll and filling it with mission details. He handed it over to Fuyuka. "Alright, this is a special case, so I have some warnings-"

"Don't know, don't care," Fuyuka interrupted. Then she turned around and zoomed off.

"Well she's not embracing the post-war peaceful mood."

"Yozora, I got the mission. Grab Naku and Mitsuka. We're going to murder a blind sensor."

Yozora had been sitting on a bench, eating a sandwich, when he glanced up. "Huh? Already? I thought it would be in, I don't know, a week or so."

"Murder Kyomu. Now," Fuyuka demanded.

"Uh- right. Naku. Mitsuka. Right."

Fuyuka Hoshino was completely fired up. Neither Naku nor Mitsuka had any clue what was going on except 'official mission, murder annoying bitch, NOW' as they were dragged over to Yozora airlines.

"Wait- Kyomu as in that one guy who helped out a bit against the Akatsuki and killed Yozora's cousins?" Mitsuka questioned as the four floated leisurely through the sky on individual Aquila's.

"Yeah. That and his boring statue-freak subordinate and the fireball-throwing girl," Fuyuka replied, flipping a page in her manga (was she really reading MANGA on a mission to kill KYOMU?)

"Wasn't he all obsessed with getting rid of Makoto?" Yozora pointed out curiously. "What happened there?"

"Don't know. Don't care. Doesn't matter."

"That's not helpful," Naku argued, crossing his arms. Fuyuka responded with a shrug. "That's all that matters."

"We're here," Yozora announced, the four star-birds dipping in sync to land in front of Sun Star's cave. Thankfully, it hasn't been abandoned post-war.

"Oh, it's you Konoha people," Kessho looked up from his spot in the main cavern. Nobody else was in sight. "What do you want?"

"Stellar Snare!" One statue freak taped to the cave walls. Fuyuka snapped her fingers. "One of you, kill him."

One down, two to go. Frankly, with the element of surprise, it wasn't too hard to get rid of him.

Their next opponent was fireball freak, who was unfortunately more of a threat than her silver haired teammate. She was emerging from her room just as the four walked down the hallway, freezing as she spotted them. "What are you doing here?"

Fuyuka went for launching a Stellar Snare straight at her, but the girl, with a completely unimpressed expression, burned it away with a tap. "Kid, you do not just walk into someone's cave and throw a web thingy at them."

"You're the same age as me."

"It's in the mentality."

"You act like a five year old child frying ants on the sidewalk."

"You act like a schoolgirl whose only friends are the pigeons in the yard."

Naku, Mitsuka and Yozora looked between the two. "Do we do something?"

Hoka whipped around, a fire gathering on her palm. "Yeah, you die!"

Hoka was a very aggressive fighter, hence why she managed to hold her own against all four of her opponents. Still, their main purpose was to kill Kyomu, and the longer Hoka holds them off the more time Kyomu has to set something up or run.

"Naku, Mitsuka, you fight her. Yozora, come with me," Fuyuka commanded, jumping away from a blast of fire and taking off down the tunnel.

"Hey, wind is literally weak to fire, you can't just-!" Naku broke off when Fuyuka and Yozora both disappeared behind a bend.

"I wouldn't look away if I were you," Hoka said. "Fire Style: Fireball Jutsu!"

"Wind Style: Gale Palm!" Mitsuka intercepted the attack by blowing it away, her Stormwind Armament flickering on.

"Thanks," Naku nodded, activating his own armament. "Remind me to punch Fuyuka in the face later. But not now."

"Stop holding your weird grudges," Mitsuka shot back.

"Hey, you!" Fuyuka and Yozora barged into Kyomu's room-slash-cavern (it's kind of the same thing in this place).

"Are you sure you want to make me an enemy?" Kyomu questioned coldly.

"I killed one of your subordinates and my friends are working on the other. So, yes." Fuyuka summoned a Stellar Snare in her hands. "Yozora, go!"

Forming a few quick hand seals, a Hydra constellation erupted from the cave floor. Kyomu stepped back, teleporting away from one of the heads snapping at him.

As long as they paid attention and dodged accordingly, it wasn't impossible to avoid Kyomu. The main problem is that it's hard to hit him.

Fuyuka was absolutely not a nice person, so she began to think.

While wind was technically weak against fire, it was also possible to blow fire off course. Naku and Mitsuka, being able to gather wind right around them, were largely able to stay unharmed.

Unfortunately, they were also close-range fighters, and Hoka liked to run around and throw fireballs from far away. However, given the limited size of the hallway, it also wasn't exactly difficult to get her into a corner.

"Stormwind Blast!" Naku launched a beam of wind at the fire user, who was busy trying to dodge away from Mitsuka. Sparing a glance over her shoulders, the orange haired girl smirked, dissolving into fire.

"Fire clones exist?" Mitsuka asked dubiously.

"Apparently," Naku replied. "Behind you!'

The hazel haired girl whipped around, blocking Hoka's strike with another wind jutsu. The fire user skidded back a few meters, throwing another blast of fire.

The three exchanged wary glances. So far, this fight was at a stalemate, so it was a matter of who would come up with the unexpected first.

Teleporters suck because they just won't stay in one place and get hit.

Fuyuka was worse.

Yozora was trying to drop balancing scales on Kyomu's head, but unfortunately that plan wasn't working out very well so far. Fuyuka had been running around and being as annoying as possible by throwing Stellar Snares and water cats at inconvenient times. She tried star-cats, but she wasn't as good at that one yet.

"Yozora, wait," she called. The purple haired boy poked his head over the edge of Aquila. "Huh?"

"I have a plan. A bad one, but a plan."
