Chapter 14: Why Mick?

(Alexandra's Pov) *Takes Place during episode 9: Left Behind*

After me and Leonard were taken by Chronos, we both woke up chained to a railing, we groaned and looked at each other "are you okay?" Leonard asked, "My head hurts, you?" I asked, "Peachy" he said, me and Leonard looked around to see that we were on Chronos's ship, "So, what's so special about us?" Leonard asked, "I mean aside from my sparking personality and her hot headedness. Back at the waverider you could've taken your boy Rip, but you took us instead, why?" Leonard asked,

Chronos remained quiet, "Hey, its you're gonna kill us, you could at least tell us what's going on" Leonard said, Chronos turned around "You should have figured it out by now" Chronos said as he slowly removed his helmet...My eyes couldn't believe what I was seeing, my heart pounded against my ribcage as my and Leonard stared in utter shock...it was Mick...

My ears and tail stood straight up, "After all, I am supposed to be the dumb one" Mick stated kneeling down to us. All those emotions, all those memories came flooding back as I felt the tears welled up in my eyes. My eyes stung as my bottom lip quivered...what the fuck was going on?

Me and Leonard stared at him with confusion "H-How?" I finally managed to speak, Mick looked at me with these cold, dead, emotionless eyes. This wasn't Mick. This wasn't the Mick I fell in love with. Something's changed, something's happened to him because this isn't him, "I think we deserve to know what the hell is going on here!" I shouted as I tried to break free from my restraints, which of course would be no use but I didn't care.

Mick stared at me, "You deserve nothing" He said coldly, "says the man who sold us out to the pirates. When I dropped you off in that forest, I meant to kill you. That was the plan" He stated, "you should've stuck with the plan and done me a favor" Mick said, I choked on sobs trying so hard to keep all those feelings in but god knows I wanted nothing more than to scream.

What was going on...what the fuck is happening...Mick, my poor Micky, "I may have not trusted you on the ship with the team, but I always, always was coming back for you!" Leonard shouted, "Seems like two of us lost track of time" Mick said, "Well, how long did you-" Leonard asked but got cut off, "By the time they found me, I'd nearly lost my mind! I was so weak, I was strangling rats to survive" Mick shouted,

Me and Leonard looked at each other "When who found you?" I asked as my voice cracked, "The Time Masters" He said as he got up and walked off, "They took me to a place called the Vanishing Point. Time doesn't exist there the way it does on Earth. I've spent lifetimes being restored by them, trained by them, fighting by them, being reborn" Mick explained, "And uh, when exactly did your new friends give you the uh lobotomy?" Leonard asked, "You think I was hunting you and your friends because the Time Masters made me? They barely had to ask" Mick said,

Me and Leonard looked afraid, "THIS ISN'T YOU MICKY!" I shouted unable to hold it back anymore, "THEY BRAINWASHED YOU; THIS ISN'T THE MICK I KNOW!" I sobbed, Mick stared at me emotionlessly before walking over to me. He crouched down to my level and just stared at me "You're right. He died that night and clearly you never knew me at all" he said and walked away leaving me in tears...this can't be.

I sniffled and tried to pull myself together "look, if you're gonna kill us already just do it already" Leonard said, "I'm not gonna kill you. I'm gonna take a trip back to Central City and visit your friends and your baby sister. The beautiful thing about time travel is I get to kill them more than once. I can kill them in front of you, go back in time, kill them in front of you again, and again, and again" Mick threatened making Leonard squirm from his seat still trying to escape.

I shook my head "I used to think the most beautiful thing on Earth was fire. Now I know it's vengeance" Mick said as we headed towards the others who were trying to find Sara. I looked at Leonard "Leo, this isn't Micky. We have to find a way to save him" I begged, Leo looked at me "I don't know if there's a way Alex...he looks too far gone" He said, "Please, I-I have to get to him. I have to try" I begged as more tears fell from my face "I will do whatever I can to get us out of here and we'll do everything we can to save Mick" Leonard promised.

I sniffled and nodded as Mick finally stopped the ship, "Would you mind loosening these up a bit before you leave?" Leonard asked, Mick said nothing, "Just out of curiosity, what do you think your new masters are gonna do with you once you've delivered the team up to them? I don't expect there's a pension plan for old bounty hunters" Leonard toyed with him.

Mick continued to stay silent "Once they get what they want from you, they're gonna toss you aside" Leonard said, "Like you tossed me aside?" Mick asked finally, "You and I both made choices that led us to this moment. What matters Mick is your next move, and I'm willing to bet that some little piece of the old you is in that armor somewhere" Leonard said, "No, you're wrong" Mick said as he put on the helmet and walked out without another word.

I shook my head "What did they do to him? That's not Mick...that's not the man I fell in love with" I whispered as my ears and tail drooped down sadly, "we're going to figure this out Alex but first we need to get out of these cuffs" He explained, I sniffled and nodded as Leonard did his best to maneuver his way up the railing and through it to grab his cold gun from the other side "don't you have electricity that could do something?" Leonard asked me, I shook my head "these are electric proofed cuffs, I'm useless here" I said,

Leonard sighed and continued to break through the railings until he finally reached the end, "What are you gonna do?" I asked, "Just trust me" he said as he managed to kick down his cold gun which fell to the ground. He grabbed a hold of it with his feet and somehow managed to angle it towards one of his hands. My eyes widen "Leonard you can't be serious!" I shouted, he huffed a bit "It's the only way, just trust me!" he shouted as he took a deep breath before shooting his cold gun at one of his hands making him scream in pain.

Once it was frozen he brought it up and slammed it on the ground making it shatter as he screamed once more. Once he was free, he managed to freeze the cuffs on mine before smashing it to pieces, "Come on, we have to hurry and stop him" Leo said as he helped me up "Are you okay?" I asked, he sighed, "I'm fine let's go!" he shouted as we ran out of the ship and into the giant building where Sara was being held.

Once we managed to find the others and Mick, they managed to actually knock him out and were getting ready for the final blow "Wait! Don't do it!" I shouted, "Snart? Alex?" Jax asked, "Sorry, don't kill Chronos!?" Rip shouted, "He's not Chronos" I said, "Show them" Leonard said,

Mick said nothing as Leonard gestured towards Jax, who took off his helmet to reveal to the others that Chronos was Mick. Everyone's eyes widen with shock, "My god" Rip said, "there is no God" Mick said as he scrambled to try and get his gun but Sara managed to kick him good which knocked him right out.

Once we got Sara back, everyone helped get Mick back to the Waverider as we locked him in the room where he couldn't get out of as it was protected by Gideon's system. After we had taken off, Mick woke up and stripped from his armor, he paced back and forth while screaming at the top of his lungs.

We all headed down to the room "You think this is all over? I will kill every single one of you. I will watch you all burn!" Mick shouted, "You- You should have killed me when you had the-" Mick got cut off as Rip muted him. Everyone turned towards Leonard "You owe us an explanation" Rip said, "Yes, it's quite remarkable Mr. Rory is working for the Time Masters, considering you killed him" Stein said,

I leaned my head against Leonard's back "If you think back, I never actually said I killed him" Leonard said, "No, you just let us think that you did what did Alex have to say about all of this?" Jax asked, "I didn't have to try too hard, did I? Also if you wouldn't have guessed, she was already with me when we had this discussion" he said,

Everyone looked at me which suddenly made me shy and embarrassed as I hid my face in Leonard's back, "But maybe I should've and at least he wouldn't have wound up a chew toy for the Time Masters" Leonard said, "But if you didn't, we wouldn't have this opportunity" Rip said, "an opportunity? To do what?" Ray asked, "To reform Mr. Rory" Rip said, "He killed Aldus" Kendra stated, "Under the influence of the Time Masters" Rip said,

I shook my head "That wasn't Mick!" I shouted, "Mick was with us when Chronos killed him. This, this is not the Mick I fell in love with. They did something to him and I will not rest until I get my Mick back...He's just trapped but I have to save him" I whispered as I put my hand against the glass while Mick did nothing but stare ahead.

No one else said a word as we all walked out and figured out what to do next. I followed Rip and Leonard to the Medbay where he got his hand regenerated back on which was...a sight to see at least but I guess it comes in handy which his nice. After he was better, I headed to the kitchen to think...I couldn't believe what I was seeing, I couldn't believe what I was hearing...how can this be? How can this happen?

My heart raced and stomach churned. I felt like I was going to throw up. This can't be happening. I felt someone touch my shoulder which made me gasp to see it was only Leo "Sorry. Didn't mean to startle you" he said, I shook my head "Just thinking" I whispered, he nodded "What do we do? What the hell are we supposed to do?" I asked, Leonard shrugged "I don't know. I genuinely have no idea" He said, I shook my head "He can't be like that forever, he just can't" I whispered as I felt tears fall from my face.

Leonard frowned "I don't know Alex. I don't know how powerful these Time Masters are so who's to say if this is permanent or not" he said, I sniffled "I can't just sit around and do nothing. I have to do something" I said, Leonard sighed "It's just going to be a lost cause Alex" he said, I shook my head "No. I don't care. I am going to get my Mick back even if it kills me, even if he kills me. I don't care" I stated as my heart pounded and angry tears streamed down my cheeks.

I was so fucking mad, god I was so fucking mad but this was Mick...this was MY MICK and I will not have him being brainwashed by these douchebags...I will not let him go until he comes back to me...There has to be something I can do...something...anything.
