Chapter 4: Me? Save The World? Pft Yea Right

*Noted this does take place after most of Season 1*

(Alexandra's Pov)

Well, after staying up for over 24 hours, drinking 3 cups of coffee and cat running around the city all day and night, I finally decided and I hate how my friends are always right but I decided to give 'saving the world' a chance...I don't know what to expect, I don't know what the plans are but I packed a suitcase of my clothes, books, my suit and such, texted my friends a goodbye and farewell for now and headed to the location where that Rip guy said he'd meet us...Me save the world? Pft, yea right. I doubt it but we'll see.

When the morning arrived, I hopped out of bed and changed into black ripped jeans with a basic long sleeve top. I put a beanie on to cover my ears even though there was really nothing I could do to hide my tail but I guess that doesn't really matter now. I took a deep breath and sighed as I made sure I had everything I needed before heading out of my place for one last time and headed to the location.

When I arrived, I saw the others were here including Mick and Leonard which was a surprise because they were criminals but I'm sure they have whatever devious plan is in their minds about this whole thing but what do I know and why do I care? Although, I looked over to see Jax unconscious in Stein's car assuming he didn't agree with the plan, but I feel him on that one...still not quite sure myself why I'm here but I don't know...I guess part of me wants to believe there's more to life than this...so, we'll see.

When everyone showed up, all we had to do now was wait for said Rip guy "Professor! This is the place" Leonard shouted, "I think we're being punked. Do people still say "punked"?" Ray asked, "No" Sara said, "I see your buddy threw himself a going away party" Mick stated, Martin looked on edge, "Yes, I believe he drank something that didn't quite agree with him" Martin said,

Mick nodded getting the memo. Leonard looked back at the Hawk People, "you don't look too happy to be here" He stated, "Perceptive" Kendra said, Leonard smirked a bit "Well, I see you've all decided to come. Well then, we can be on our way" Rip said coming from...wherever he did but he's from the future so what do I know? "I ain't footing it anywhere" Leonard said crossing his arms.

Rip sighed "A Time Master's sacred charge is to do no harm to the timeline. Can you imagine what a timeship would look like in say, Victorian England?" Rip questioned, I crossed my arms and rolled my eyes a bit at the nerds "Holographic indigenous camouflage projection" Stein said with shock in his eyes. Rip smirked and pulled out the remote from his trench coat "Indeed" He said and pressed a button making a literal timeship appear.

Everyone's eyes widen "it's called the Waverider. It's been my ship for over a decade" He said and looked out at us, which we all looked stunned if not impressed, "Shall we?" Rip said, we all nodded as we boarded the Waverider. My ears twitched with curiosity making me groan a bit because they were uncomfortable under the beanie but I can't allow the others to see what a freak I was.

Even though I'm sure they know but I don't care...I know they'll stare and with Mick and Snart they'll just make fun of me...I don't want that...I just can't deal with that right now "Woah. I bet it uses Ionic propulsion" Ray said, "I doubt that very much, given that even advanced technology wouldn't be able to sustain an ionic reaction" Stein argued, "It's possible if you stabilize the quantum flux" Ray said which made me scoff at their nerdiness.

We walked through the hallways and through a set of metal doors leading us to I'd assume the main room filled with a circle of chairs, an office and the windows peering out into the world. I felt intrigued, "Whatever you roofied him with, I'd like some" Mick stated referring to the unconscious Jefferson who sat in the chair. Stein looked offended, "I did not roofie him" Stein argued, "Oh, I ain't judging" Mick smirked, I chuckled a bit and shook my head, "I have never seen anything like this before" Kendra said clearly impressed, "neither have I considering I have 4,000 years' worth of memories, that's saying something" Carter stated while looking around.

I smiled softly as Rip showed us around, which surprisingly there was a lot to be shown but after that he showed us to our rooms. He'd allow us to get settled first before going over what the plan was to stop Vandal Savage. When I got shown my room, I looked around to see it was a simple room, had a small desk, dresser, bookshelf and a nice bed it seemed. It had a small window but I wasn't one to complain. I sighed as I dropped my bag and crashed onto the bed with a tired sigh.

After getting used to this whole idea, I headed out of my room and to the main room where everyone else had gathered, "How does a vessel of this size function without a crew?" Martin asked, "I don't need one. I have Gideon" Rip stated as a giant head appeared on the big table in the middle of the room, "Welcome aboard. I am Gideon, an interactive artificial consciousness programmed to operate this vessel's critical systems and aid Captain Hunter in his mission" The computer said,

We all stared at it "Captain?" Leonard stated, "Gideon's been working on helping me locate Vandal Savage" Rip mentioned, "I thought you said he's pretty active in the 22nd Century" Kendra said, "Perhaps engaging Savage at the height of his powers isn't the best strategy" Stein argued, "Indeed. Unfortunately, Savage has kept his movements hidden throughout history. Not even Gideon can determine where or when we can find him. But I have the next best thing: The man who can. Professor Aldus Boardman. He is the world's leading – well, only expert on Vandal Savage. We're gonna pay him a little visit" Rip announced, "Course plotted for St. Roch, New Orleans" Gideon said, "St. roch?" Carter asked, "October 17th, 1975" Gideon said,

My heart started to pound a bit, I'm not really the nervous type but all this shit seemed far too crazy to be real, "I suggest you all strap yourselves in. Temporal navigation isn't something one wants to be standing up for" Rip stated as he took a seat and pulled down the strap over his head that secured his body to the chair. We all went ahead and did the same thing and found an empty seat and strapped in, "Time Travel, Cool" Mick said, I rolled my eyes a bit "Some of you may experience some slight discomfort. In very rare instances there will be some uh bleeding from the eyeballs" Rip said discreetly.

Everyone's eyes widen "I'm sorry, what?" Kendra asked, Hunter punched in the place and year of our first stop which made the ship start up and the lights turn on "The human body is used to time unfolding linearly" he stated as the Waverider began to whirl and soon enough take off...Just in time too because now Jefferson started to come to and now Stein had a lot to explain to him, "Jackson, I'm so glad you're awake. I didn't want you to miss this" Stein said excitedly, "Miss what?" he asked groggily.

He looked around seeing he was strapped to the chair on the Waverider. His eyes widen "What the!-" He shouted with confusion and tried to pull of his seat belt, "Oh no, I wouldn't unfasten those if I were you" Rip stated, "Get me off this – whatever this thing is!" he shouted, "Good luck explaining this" Sara said, "I did him a favor" Stein said, "he doesn't look all that grateful" Leonard piped in, "Just hang on and remain calm. All your worlds are about to change" Rip said and pushed a lever and the next thing you know, we were off.

It was really hard to explain how time travel felt but let's just say it felt like you were high, your brain was going to explode and you felt like passing out and throwing up at the same time...yea, not really a fun experience since being half cat with the power of electricity...

Anyways after we landed in 1975, everyone got affected by the effects of time travel, Mick threw up, the others were dizzy and nauseated, I felt like trash and wanted to off myself "Oh, I should have mentioned it before. Nausea is one of the side effects of time travel, along with-" He was gonna say then Ray fell face first on the ground which made him groan a bit, "Ah, vertigo" Rip said,

I scoffed and rolled my eyes "I can't see" Stein said taking off his glasses "And temporary blindness. Oh, it should only last a minute. After all, that was a mere jaunt. The further back in time you go, the worse the side effects" Rip said getting out of his seat and making sure Stein was okay, "Better?" he asked Stein, "It's all relative" He said, Rip nodded "Good" He said, I crossed my arms and rolled my eyes "Would've been nice to know about this shit sooner" I said softly, "Yes but then you all wouldn't have agreed to this now would you?" Rip asked, I shook my head a bit.

The others remained seated trying to overcome the side effects, "I can't believe you kidnapped me" Jackson stated clearly pissed off at Stein since he didn't want to go in the first place, which hey, was understandable "Hey, I want to go home" Jackson complained to Rip "Good news, then 2016 will be around in uh 41 years" Rip joked, "Now you four make yourselves feel comfortable back here on the ship, while the rest of you are coming with me to find professor Boardman" Rip said, "Woah, woah, woah, woah, woah, woah, You're benching us?" Mick asked, "I thought we were a team" Sara said offendedly,

I smirked a bit "This mission doesn't require your particular skill set, yet" Rip said, "Meaning you don't need anyone killed, maimed, robbed or electrocuted" Leonard stated, I rolled my eyes "Precisely" Rip said, "Sure it's a good idea to leave these two unsupervised on a time machine?" Ray asked referring to Mick and Leonard "hey haircut. Deafness wasn't one of the side effects" Mick stated, "We better hurry up. Professor Boardman will die in less than 24 hours" Rip said, "What's the point in cutting it so close?" Ray asked, "Because if he's destined to die, then he doesn't have a timeline for us to disrupt and his impact on the future will be minimal. How brilliant" Stein said with excitement, "And depressing" Kendra added, "How does he die?" She asked, "Uh, he's found dead in his university from unknown causes. Come on" Rip said, 

The others nodded, "Are you coming?" Stein asked Jackson, "I'll stay put" Jackson said, "You'd rather stay with them?" He questioned, Jackson scoffed, "They didn't drug me" Jackson stated, "Point taken" Stein said and walked out to join the others, leaving me with Jackson, Sara, Mick and Leonard.

I sighed and shook my head as now suddenly all their attention was on me "Well, well, well if it isn't our favorite pet" Leonard teased, I growled softly "Fuck off Snart you're the last person I want to talk to right now" I stated while sitting down in one of the chairs. He smirked a bit as I felt all eyes on my ears and tail which made me feel not only extremely uncomfortable but I felt like even more of a freak than I already did and them staring didn't help me at all.

I huffed "will you all stop fucking staring! Yes, they're real the last time I checked!" I shouted as my ears twitched and tail puffed up and jittered a little. The others smirked a bit "Kitty's a little feisty" Mick teased, I rolled my eyes and shook my head trying everything I could to ignore their stares, "Anyways I don't know about you but I say we get a little weird in the 70's" I heard Sara suggest which made me sigh and roll my eyes "I like your idea" Leonard said smirking, Sara smirked "I got the perfect outfit" Sara said walking off to her room while Mick, Leonard and Jackson started to walk out of the ship.

I huffed a bit with frustration, "Sorry Kid you're a bit on the younger side stay with the kitty and get her to talk nice" he suggested smirking as him, Sara and Mick walked out to god knows whereas it was now just me and Jackson. It was quiet for a moment as Jackson came and took a seat by me, "So how'd this happen?" He asked, I looked at him and said nothing, "how come you ain't talkin?" he asked,

I sighed and looked down as I withdrew my claws, I used my nails like a sharpener to sharpen them "Why would anyone talk to a freak like me?" I asked, Jackson said nothing for a moment, "Well we're a team now and we need you so you're gonna have to talk eventually" He said, I smirked a bit, well he didn't seem to weirded out so might as well open up a bit...he might be the only one I can trust on this ship...

I took a deep breath and looked up at him, "The Particle Accelerator is what happened, I'm part cat obviously and I have the power of electricity" I said as I sparked my fingers together creating a small electrical current. Jackson's eyes widened a bit "Wow that's pretty cool" he said trying to make small talk, I smirked and rolled my eyes a bit "You know you don't have to force yourself to talk to me. I'm fine with people not talking to me. I already feel like a freak as it is no need to try and cheer me up" I said picking at my nails,

Jackson smiled "But I want to talk to you" He said, I rolled my eyes, "So how are you feeling about all of this?" I asked, Jackson scoffed a bit ''Well since Grey drugged me and kidnapped me, I'm a bit iffy on this future-hunting-Vandal Savage thing'' He said, I chuckled and nodded, ''Me too my friend Barry Allen told me that this is a one lifetime opportunity to meet a new team and save the world, I have been running on all 4's all night thinking about this now that I'm actually here I want to go home'' I said crossing my arms,

Jackson smiled which made me smile softly, "well maybe we can figure this stuff out together" He suggested, I smiled softly, "Thanks Jackson" I said, he smiled "No problem uh I'm sorry I forgot your name" he said sheepishly, I shook my head "Alexandra Crystal" I said, he smiled "Pretty name. You can just call me Jax by the way" he mentioned, I smiled and nodded "Alright then Jax what should we do while the others are doing god knows what?" I asked, Jax thought for a moment "I'm sure there's gotta be some board games around" He suggested, I smiled and nodded as we figured out how to kill time while the others got to do fun shit...how's that for saving the world huh?

(Yay another chapter done. Sorry for being inactive, i'm currently moving rn so I'm trying to figure shit out. Anyways, enjoy!)
